Had some friends in town, and being relatively newish to Omaha, this was a breakfast place that’s been on my list. Think of breakfast diner, but the food is solid! Looks very popular w the locals. The biscuits and gravy were well made with gravy galore! The three of us all agreed this place is worthy!

Google
I liked this place. I had the pancake, egg, and sausage combo with a side of homemade hash browns. The pancake was large, tasty, and went well with syrup. The hash browns had a nice balance of crispiness and softness. Portions were generous, and the staff was friendly and working hard, even though it was busy.

Google
This place is awesome. Old school diner. Great coffee, big portions. Homemade donuts, cinnamon rolls, pecan rolls, and pies. Maybe the best country fried steak and gravy I've ever had.

Google
Absolutely incredible, wonderful amazing slice of Americana. Amazing food, amazing staff, amazing service and very fair prices. I feel sorry for anyone not giving this place 5 stars. Harold’s is a remarkable Breakfast spot in Omaha, Nebraska. I will be back soon!

Google
My husband and I had heard about this place and wanted to try it out. It is quite small but it has a cute retro/vintage vibe. I ordered a veggie scramble with toast and my husband got the pancake combo (three cakes, a sausage and an egg). Overall it tastes good and the pancakes were thick. I would just say for the size of the meal compared to other breakfast locations the price was a dollar or two too high.

Google
What an experience... It was like going back to 1958 all over again.. I had the special of the day... Are waitress zailey Was a very good waitress other than she did forget an order of toast end the cup of soup that I had ordered as well... Overall what a great experience and shout out to miss Pam.

Google
Food is great and cheap. Come early cause it gets busy really fast.

Google
It is a little out of the way but so worth it. The atmosphere is a 50s diner. Wait, staff are amazing calling the regular customers by name. The food is modestly priced. Breakfast staples like hash browns and pancakes are great. One of the house specialties is their donuts. Deep fried cake donuts with house made icing. Tremendous!

Yelp
Food and service always on point. If you haven't been here you are missing out. Good times!

Yelp
Stepping into Harold's Koffee House is almost like stepping back in time. It's set up probably how it was set up when it first opened decades ago. So the feel of it is old town diner vibes along with the kindness that also goes along with service from decades ago. When we moved into the area one of the favorites of the previous owners was Harold's Koffee House. We knew we had to try it! Each time we've gone we've always liked our food and the coffee is pretty good too. I've since gone with my sister, boyfriend, and also picked up a dozen of their homemade doughnuts as well. I usually like their corned beef hash but also tried their eggs, meat, and toast meal too. As you can see by the photo added the hot chocolate is worth a try too! Definitely the perfect addition to a greasy spoon diner meal. I mean that with lots of love too! Harold's is a staple out this way on 30th and I'm thankful it's stood the test of time and a pandemic and we still get to enjoy it today! I hope you get to too!

Yelp
I have heard about Harold's Koffee House several times since I've been in Omaha, and so we finally got a chance to check it out. Upon entering, we were pleasantly surprised at how cute and kitschy the inside was. It felt as if we had walked through the door to 30 years ago. The waitstaff seemed to be mostly female and they were all pleasant and busily running about serving customers. Where our experience fell short was the food quality. I tried the sticky bun (not sure if it is called that everywhere) and IMHO it didn't seem to contain real caramelized sugar, but instead something akin to Caro or corn syrup. The biscuits and corned beef hash (and I suspect other things) are not made in-house. You won't find the quality food that you would in a place such as La Peep, and yet the prices rival those types of places. I didn't even really think the coffee was worth a return visit. I loved the "vibe", but the charm ends there.

Yelp
So delicious and classic. I waited too long to try this place!! Try the Susie Special with sausage and cheese.

Yelp
Came for breakfast to Harold's today. Omaha peeps if you have not been here it's a must. Still looks like 1968 in there. The food is fantastic!!! Service is good. Now they are busy most days but it's worth the wait if you have too. I had the chorizo hash today! FREAKING DELICIOUS!!! And seriously the best pancakes! Will be back again and again and again lol.

Yelp
My experience at Harold's was fantastic. I love this place. I love how you can tell there are regulars there and the option to sit at the bar. A place frozen in time. And the food was spot on. Great portions and prices. Nothing fancy but hits the spot. Harold's will be in our regular rotation! Wished I would have tried it sooner!

Yelp
excellent breakfast with alot of history. Old fashioned diner. Service was ***** stars. will definetly be back next time in Omaha. Quiet and relaxed.

Yelp
I enjoyed the ambience at this greasy spoon diner! Service was good too, thru kept our coffees full. I definitely thought my one pancake was a stack of 2 pancakes but it was just a really thick one! Overall tasted good. I would go back and maybe try an omelette and hash browns next time.

Yelp
Went there for breakfast and it was a throwback to an old coffee house cafe! The interior brought back early memories of diners with my grandparents. The food was well portioned and very tasty! The service was great as well, we always had a coffee warmer and condiments were stocked right at the table. Definitely a place we will return to and highly recommend.

Yelp
Traveling through, on our way to the airport we found this hidden treasure. This place is absolutely amazing. The service, the atmosphere, and food. Everything was priced correctly for the value of the food! The bagel was griddled, giving it that toasted yet buttery soft component. The bacon was perfectly crispy, and you can tell was properly prepared. (Not the night before but that morning.) the hash browns are house made. They were perfectly cooked. Even our eggs, we ordered over medium, and they actually came out over medium and not over easy. I would highly recommend this breakfast spot! Since it was our first time coming, they also gave us each a free donut. Which I happily ate, I ended up getting powered sugar on my black pants, which I wore as a badge of honor for the remainder of the day lol . Great place, great pricing, and great food.

Yelp
This is a really good, family owned diner. We were visiting from out of WI and wanted a solid, diner style breakfast. Harold's Koffee House delivered in spades. Great food, fast service, and very friendly staff.

Yelp
Glad to have found this breakfast spot. Housed in a mid century meets diner decor it has a nice mix of counter and booth seating. The wait staff is attentive and efficient at keeping the orders coming while keeping your coffee filled. The food is great - we've been in a couple of times now and everything has been delicious and enough for a sizable take home box. If you enjoy quality food in an authentic locally owned setting, this is something to try.

Yelp
Incredible fluffy pancakes that are as tasty as they are enormous! I barely managed to take down one, but the leftovers weren't bad later on. It's hard to find true homemade hash browns on a menu and Harold's really delivered! They did need a little salt but the flavor was right on. Great texture too. Crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. I also enjoyed the diner vibe. I'd heard about this place over the years and its cinematic moments, but I wasn't disappointed. It could use a little TLC, but the inside is charming. I had excellent, friendly service and truly enjoyed my breakfast.
google avatar

Yelp
If you want a small diner feel I highly recommend. The service was immediate and very attentive. The coffee was actually pretty good too! My husband got 2 breakfast burritos, and I got the special of the day which was 2 slices of French toast, two sausage links, and two eggs. Prices were fair and the food was amazing. Honestly, the best French toast I have ever had. I'd go back just for the French toast again. My husband who said he doesn't like French toast tried it and ended up finishing the rest for me once I couldn't eat any more. We'll definitely be back!

Yelp
I was charged almost $10 for 5 cake donuts!!??!! RIDICULOUS!!!! I need to write more( per this website)... but, I think this was pretty self explanatory!!!!

Yelp
We have talked about eating at Harold's for years and today was our day. It is a cute little place. The turquoise booths won me over right away. The historical photos on the wall are a nice touch. Wish it wasn't so cool owned so we could walk around and look at them. The young person that seated us was calm and collected dealing with some picky customers. Our server was We lucked out and walked in and were seated right away. Since we have been here the line for a table just keeps growing. The hot chocolate is good served in those heavy old school mugs I remember from my childhood. We ordered the Susie's Special with a pancake and a Pancake Combo. We also tried a plain donut.

Ken A.

Yelp
What a find! Humble appearance outside warm and friendly inside! You get meals tailored to your appetite and great service to boot! We were served by Melanie and she was exceptional!

Yelp
Stopped in for another fabulous "House Special" and Koffee before heading up the road to acquire my first kick-off "stamp" on the 2024 Nebraska Passport at Mormon Trail Center at Winter Quarters. Since the theme of the Passport day is history, I've added a photo of the back of the updated menu, which features the history behind Harold's Koffee House (from the large "FOOD" sign, retaining the misspelled "koffee," and Historic Florence). Service again is A+ as they're always hopping.
google avatar

Yelp
When I think of "neighborhood diner," Harold's Koffee House is what comes to mind. Walking inside, it's like you hopped in a time machine that took you back to the 60s- vinyl tables, vintage-styled menus, and "diner blue" painted walls. This place is another friendly diner where servers know you by name and have your order preferences memorized. They did not spare on portions, and the prices still reminded me of pre-inflation prices- you'll get your money's worth here! They offered medium-strength diner coffee with bottomless refills and all the cream and sugar my heart desired. Harold's is an excellent, unhurried spot off 30th Street to have breakfast and/or lunch. Will definitely be stopping by if I'm in the area again!

Yelp
Great friendly breakfast spot with that old fashioned diner feel I love (but not too much "old fashioned" that it becomes acceptable to be grimy or dirty at all). The food was delicious as well and service was friendly in all the welcoming ways you would hope. Slightly out of the way but worth a drive from wherever you are in omaha!

Yelp
Delicious breakfast our favorite is the nacho breakfast! If you don't want to wait I suggest to get there super early! It's a hidden gem!

Hannah Z.

Yelp
We have been in a few times and it has been great. We came in and it was packed. We prefer to sit at a booth. We sat at one of the two places available. One of them had normal chairs. We sat at the big booth. As soon as we sat down an employee came over and told us we aren't allowed to sit there because it's for big parties and told us we had to move. It was very rude and unprofessional. He didn't know we had two more people coming. Never coming back.

Yelp
Harold's Koffee House is probably one of my most favorite places for breakfast. Yes, they do have lunch options too, but their breakfasts are what I keep going back for! Harold's has the best pancakes I've had in a while and often times I find myself wanting to go there for their corn beef hash. Service here is always great! Everyone is friendly and attentive. They even seem to anticipate what you need before you even think you need anything!

Yelp
Visited Harold's while in Omaha with my family it's a great hometown diner for brunch. The house coffee is a must try it's got a special something to it and they manage to keep it full no matter how fast you can drink it. I enjoyed steak and eggs dish, it was cooked just how I asked for with a biscuit and gravy. which happens to be full of flavor bits on its own. We found there is a very neighborly feel that welcomes you right in. seconds after I entered I was greeted and found a cozy vintage booth fallowed by the famous koffee blend. 10/10 recommended for traditional brunch with the fam or solo

Yelp
Veggie omelette was legit. Place has a super cool and old school vibe. Old and historic and great food. Will be here to try the rest of the menu

Yelp
Really enjoyed our experience here ! Mom and pop shop type of place. Very family friendly, the service was great. The place looks and feels like a classic diner. The food was delicious. I forgot to get a picture of their doughnuts. Definitely try them. Will be returning !

Yelp
I hope it was just an off day for Harold's. We had not been there for a while.Normally food is good. We were seated close to the kitchen and were subjected to cooks yelling, talking from the kitchen to the wait staff that were out in the seated areas. There was one guy refilling sauces and repeatedly complaining how if sauce gets on his hands it makes him sick. Omelette was stuffed with ham and very little cheese. Kept biting into something crunchy like egg shells. Harold's is usually casual with good food not chaotic with below average food. Service was good except she was yelling back and forth too.

Yelp
Great old fashioned diner! Service was super friendly and the food was very good. Loved the homemade donuts, corned beef hash was solid, and pancake was decent. Will definitely come back and would recommend to anyone to appreciates old school breakfast.

Yelp
My favorite thing about this breakfast spot is the set up. The retro booth and horseshoe loop where the servers just cruise back and forth in is so fun! There are also half booths (lovingly referred to by many, okay probably just me and a few people, the cuddle booth). My go to order is a berry granola pancake (I tried the waffle for at this time and will probably stick with my normal pancake option) and an order of hash brown extra crispy!! They know how to do hash browns and who doesn't love fruit and granola in a giant pancake?! Looks like they started serving cold brew. Our waitress was so amazingly fast I said yes to coffee before even getting to check out the menu. FYi- They aren't doing to-go orders on the weekend.

Yelp
Best small diner in Omaha, great service and daily specials I love their homemade cornedbeef Hash. They specialize in breakfast and lunch. Matt and the gang do a great job stop in and try them you won't be disappointed small town atmosphere in the big O, just south of the Mormon Bridge on 30st. A tip from your uncle Don Hotovy

Yelp
The service was great and the food came out hot and delicious. We liked the cozy cafe atmosphere.

Yelp
Harold's Coffee House has existed for more than 60 years. With that kind of staying power it's no wonder that it gets listed in best-places-for-breakfast lists in Omaha. We agree. Bookguy's steak was perfect and his over easy eggs were spot on. The pancakes were tender and the hashbrowns were homemade, not the usual shreds. My veggie scramble was one of the best I have had due to the plethora of veggies. It was a very generous portion as was the order of hashbrowns, so of course I had leftovers for another meal. Instead of toast, I had a biscuit which tasted like homemade. In addition, the prices were surprisingly low. Add to that an expert, personable waitress and it was a winner all the way.

Yelp
My fiancé and I stopped into Harold's after a local recommended it to us. I had the house special and he had the breakfast nachos. My house special read very subpar, but my finances nachos were pretty good. The service on the other hand, was not good at all. There seemed to be 2 servers in the small cafe, but it wasn't crazy busy. Our waitress never checked on us after we got our food, which was kinda frustrating since she forgot some of our order. We tried flagging her down, but she kept walking away from our table. That being said, the food was good for the price, but I'm not sure if we'd go back.

Shauna W.

Yelp
Excellent homemade food, staff was efficient and attentive. Would highly recommend to anyone!

Yelp
My wife and I are long time customers. Great food, wonderful vibe and reasonable price. I love the veggie omelet but it's all good. Lunch specials are also worth a try. The hot turkey sandwich is great and the meat loaf mountain is epic. Sorry to post a rave but Harold's is that good.
google avatar

Nia R.

Yelp
Such a homy vibe. The staff are really wholesome. Comfort food so delicious. It's a must try. Wish the hours were longer that's how yummy the food is.

Stefanie W.

Yelp
Good old-fashioned breakfast, we have ate there pretty regularly since we got to town decent food

Tierra N.

Yelp
Honestly it was below par. I thought with it's time in business and reviews it would be better than this. My omlete looked amazing but the chicken fried steak in side taste like the inside of a freezer. Freezer burnt is not a pleasing taste. Potatoes were great.
google avatar

Steve K.

Yelp
I think expectations are in order here: this is a country diner, not a spot in downtown. It seems like a lot of people know each other --lots of familiar talk, updating etc. So basically like what your image of a smaller town diner might be. As a cultural experience if you've spent much of your time in bigger cities it is worth a visit. So I say all of this because honestly, I didn't find the food to be all that appealing. I finished maybe a third of the scramble. The very busy waitress was nice and checked in and also refilled the coffee. Prices are cheap. Like, make you wonder if you stepped into a time machine and left a few decades earlier. A lot of people like it. So maybe you will too.
google avatar

Yelp
Classic diner food can be found here! Just north of Omaha, Harold's is a cute little diner that's been in its current location since 1968. You can tell a lot of regulars come here and I don't blame them! They have great classic diner food. They also make their own donuts- only a dollar a piece!
google avatar

Laura W.

Yelp
The best mashed potatoes I've ever had. Everything else is great too. Just have to say that about the mashed potatoes. Call and order for pick up too! So great.
google avatar

Yelp
Like Cheers, where everyone knows your name. Great family owned diner full of tradition. A must try
google avatar

Yelp
Went with my regular - berry & granola pancake. This thing is huge and unlike any other pancake I've had. Doesn't even need syrup, just a little bit of butter and you're good to go.

Yelp
My son and I were part of a habitat for humanity house project team thru church. At the end of our work we all visited Harold's. The owner set aside some tables for our team. Harold's is a stereotypical diner like you see on Tv or a movie. It was clean. When we arrived it was full. We found our reserved tables. We all ordered meatloaf mountain. It consisted of a double open face meatloaf sandwich on white bread with a mound of mashed potatoes that more than doubles the height of the sandwich . It was covered in brown gravy and green beans. It was large. It was also good. The waitress was attentive and friendly. Lots of good comfort food for a very good price. No one had room for desert. This is a five star hole in the wall diner. I want to come back for breakfast sometime in the near future. The breakfast dishes I saw served to other people looked really good. It's also nice that the owner reserved tables for us. I was told he is a supporter of habitat for humanity . Double bonus
google avatar

Yelp
This is exactly what we were looking for when we had 6 hours to kill in Omaha before flying out. This diner was truly all locals that were on a first name basis with all the employees. Pam was fantastic and truly made us feel welcome. When I showed her the check in desk for a free donut, she said we both get one because it's our first visit! Your drinks never get close to being empty and the staff continues to check on you throughout your meal. This is the definition of a traditional diner and I can't recommend them enough.
google avatar

Sarina P.

Yelp
Pretty good place. Nice and small. Service is usually good although there's been times it was just below average. Their portion sizes don't seem consistent. We've gone and gotten large portions with take home then a few days later gone with a portion that wasn't small but not as large. The burritos are great size and filling I'm told. Also told the pancakes, which look light and fluffy, are delicious. The homemade hash browns are great but definitely need seasoning. Veggie scramble is okay; would be better if they used any seasoning and salt can only help so much. The corned beef hash is great and same with the breakfast nachos. Don't have wheat so haven't tried their pecan rolls and donuts however have noted if you don't get there early enough and order those at beginning of meal, you'll be out of luck so I take it they're pretty tasty. It's not built for large families or groups however there is one large booth so if you're lucky enough to get in at right time, you can take it. One time, one server was pretty odd, an older lady, who felt it was worth her time to sit and chat with others instead of waiting her tables. So others had to bring us our food that sat in the window for awhile and were very confused why our order wasn't correct. So they brought us out an order of pancakes instead of a side since that's what was in the window. Our waitress finally stopped by and started reaching for our pancake plate telling us it was wrong. I looked at her oddly and she retracted her hand and complained it was wrong and begrudgingly told us we could keep it and to know it wasn't right. I smiled and informed her I knew that but that's what they brought because nobody knew what was going on. She didn't seem to get the message and we only ever got one coffee refill the whole time. Speaking of, surprisingly their coffee is pretty good. Nothing spectacular but it's not foldgers and better than I recall from years ago. They said they changed their coffee when I asked so that could explain. Our family joke many years ago was always *don't go to Harold's for coffee.* But now I'd take that back. I mean, I still wouldn't promote them as top quality but for a diner, it's good.

Yelp
We absolutely loved our first experience at Harold's. It is the best diner atmosphere in Omaha! Such a quaint place. Our waitress was super friendly and helpful and we felt like family there! I enjoyed the chorizo hash with a fluffy biscuit. The coffee was great! We really loved the homemade cake donuts also. Can't

Yelp
I don't give a lot of five-star reviews, but this place has it all and definitely deserved it. We stayed in the area last night and our host directed us here - and he was spot on. Charming 50s era dinner, sincerely friendly greeting and service throughout. This feels and runs like a family business, with almost all patrons being locals, wandering in and out to fill the torquoise colored booths and stools at the the curved formica counter top. We heard many people greeting the servers by name and even 'honeybuns'! So, so relaxing and charming. The food is really good diner food, not greasy, and perfectly prepared. We split the corned beef hash and had a pecan roll (order this!) and a cinnamon roll. When we come back through here again this will be definite stop, I want to try the 'mountain meatloaf' for lunch, and their daily homemade pies!

Yelp
Great food, great service, great atmosphere! A comfortable place to sit down to a meal of traditional American Diner foods and a cup of coffee, tea, soda, whatever with a friend or three to catch up with each other. Their specials are usually exceptionally tasty versions of my old favorites. (The staff are friendly and provide service worth rewarding with bigger tips, too!)
