Best Bars in Downtown Orlando, Florida | Eater Miami

"Epcot’s not the only place in Orlando to drink around the world. After entering through the doors of the Harp & Celt, one is immediately transported to what feels like a true Irish pub (minus the accents). With a significant selection of beers and malt whiskeys, this family-owned pub provokes the feeling that you’ve traveled across the Atlantic without the flight. The Harp & Celt is by far the premier place in O-town to watch good footie." - Colleen Hamilton

Google
Nice service, cool authentic bar, and a great place to watch soccer (football ⚽️). Has the feel and architecture of a European pub.. really enjoyed the feel of the bar. They had a big screen projecting the Orlando fc match. Had a few beers, which were great. I didn't try the food, but it looked really good. Bar tenders were really nice as well. I'd recommend, especially for soccer matches!

Google
Nice little Irish pub. Atmosphere felt authentic the food was good with nice portions and friendly service. Enjoyed the fish and chips, bangers and mash, Caesar salad, Irish stew, corned beef sandwich, mussels and guinness! The wings were a little undercooked.

Jeff Weise

Google
Decent place to stop by. The food was good but the bangers were a little salty for my taste. Good value for your dollar. Good service and atmosphere was good once you passed by the people sleeping on the street. This is by no means a reflection of this business but rather an issue the city should address.

Google
Pretty cool place. Food was good. Fish, chips and Guinness. What can go wrong? Service very good.

Google
Love this place. Authentic Irish Pub, love the atmosphere, and the food is just perfect. Must try their Reuben sandwich, potato and leek soup, and the fish and chips with vinegar. Perfect place to go for lunch or to watch a game.

Google
Perfect place to go if you want to watch any Football game! Went there for the Champions league final; the atmosphere, the people, the staff and the drinks everything was amazing all together. Can’t wait to start going there regularly once Prem starts back up!

Google
My son and I had a little bit of time before the football game between Arsenal football club and Orlando city soccer club last night, so we decided to stop by the pub for a little something to eat. Little did we know that it was the official pregame stop for all the fans, so that made it quite a fun environment at the time. The place was absolutely packed. Some of the patrons were chanting football songs! We were a little worried that it would take ages for a food to come out, but the staff were very quick. We ordered some sausage rolls, scotch eggs, and some chips with curry sauce. We were absolutely delighted with the flavors, the freshness, and the portions. We actually received a lot more than we expected. The wait staff were very nice and the bar staff was efficient. I would definitely go here again, even if it wasn’t a game night. Enjoy!

Google
My husband and I came here while on vacation to watch a Liverpool game and it did not disappoint. The staff were very welcoming, food was delicious (which honestly I did not expect!), and there was a great group of Liverpool fans to boot! I would definitely recommend this spot to watch a game and grab some food.

Yelp
The perfect spot for good vibes and friendly faces. The staff and patrons are welcoming, making it a great place to unwind and feel at home. I decided to step outside my comfort zone and try some new dishes, and I'm so glad I did! The Reuben Fries and Scotch Egg were absolute game-changers--delicious and now officially added to my list of favorites. If you're looking for a cozy pub atmosphere with great food and an inviting crowd, the Harp & Celt is definitely worth a visit.

Yelp
I have been meaning to stop here and picked a day that the Orlando Pride had a game. When I arrived it was pretty busy but the staff was really hopping and acknowledged me as soon as I walked to the bar to put in my food order. The food came out pretty quick and I was surprised they brought it to the table as I expected them to just yell for me to come grab it. The scotch eggs were hot, tasty and well prepared. I got a sandwich as well and that was also great. Price was reasonable and fair especially considering it was downtown. Certainly someplace I will be returning to try out some more of their food.

Yelp
Placed an order over the phone. When I arrived to the restaurant I was greeted. I was told my order was ready and I needed to make payment. To me, the feel of this restaurant is kinda like the show Cheers. You know, sometimes you wanna go where everybody knows your name and they're always glad you came, except it was my very first time there. It looked like a really cool and fun restaurant, The food was well made and it was delicious.

Yelp
What a great Irish bar nestled in the downtown Orlando area. I stopped in while waiting for the FIFA Club World Cup game, and enjoyed a late lunch and a few libations. I tried the blackened chicken caesar wrap, which was very good, as were the chips. As for the service, it was exactly that you want in an authentic Irish pub

Yelp
We're walking around downtown and had read about the Harp and Celt so decided to stop in for a drink. Didn't realize they were like 2 doors. Sat down quick, staff was friendly and we got some appetizers. Chips and gravy was very good , could have used a bit more gravy though but no complaints. Had sausage rolls which were okay. Nice old pub vibe nothing too fancy. Would like to go back and sample some entrees!

Yelp
The Harp & Celt remains my favorite downtown bar! We come here for Liverpool FC games mostly, but we also enjoy their curry nights and just dropping in for a few drinks. While this is technically a bar, this is a pub in the UK sense of the word in that their food is a feature, not an afterthought. The food is absolutely incredible! The CELT, the magnolia melt, the Dubliner, the Scotch egg, the HP burger, the fish and chips... I could talk about their food forever. Great service, great atmosphere, great people, great food. They're just the best you'll get downtown.

Yelp
Stopped at the Harp & Celt as a change of plans as the place we were heading to had a private event. Gotta tell you, sorry I hadn't been here before. Friendly and quick service. Everything you expect of an Irish pub type setting. Food was really good, and the drinks were cold. Very nicely priced as well. This was right before Christmas and it was not busy, but still active which was nice. Definitely coming back and making this one of our downtown stops.

Yelp
I'm currently a homeless veteran, I had a stroke and my truck broke down during the lockdowns. I was in New Mexico at the time, the lockdowns were much longer there. I spent the last two years illustrating a book to bring in some type of income for myself. These people told me they don't serve people like me. I will never have anything to do with this establishment for the rest of my life. I have attached a sample of my illustrations

Yelp
The ambiance was great! Very sporty and friendly. The staff was friendly and our waiter was very patient and had a great attitude. I give it 3 stars because the food was not what I expected... we got the loaded nachos as the app and it was not very loaded, mostly potato chips but no protein. We returned it and got chicken tenders instead which were pretty good. I had the steak/mushroom pie, which I was very excited to try! But I was slightly disappointed... there were no mushrooms, it was mostly a beef stew with pastry on top. The top pastry was actually yummy and flaky! I personally would not come back, but I enjoyed trying this this for the first time.

Yelp
Battered fish and fries with hot sauce and malt vinegar hit the spot. Best part of the Harp and Celt is that if it's too noisy or too quiet for your taste, leave, and enter the other bar. Kilkenny is hard to come by in the USA, so we will be back for sure!

Yelp
ORLANDO, FL: Harp and Celt Irish Pub and Restaurant is an Irish pub right downtown and leashed and friendly dogs are allowed to join you at their indoor dining and outdoor seating. It is a festive space and known as the place to go to watch the game, including soccer and sports from all over the world. The food menu is full of Irish favorites and we loved the curry fries! Their full bar features a nice selection of beer and nothing beats a shot of Jameson. Slainte!

Yelp
Stopped in for lunch with some coworkers for the first time. The left side of the restaurant (divided by the bar) was less crowded than the right. We got a booth right away. The food was excellent and the right portion size. I had the Dubliner with potato and leek soup and my friends had the special: bangers and mash. My sandwich tasted like a French dip without the soggy mess and delicious caramelized onions inside. My friends said the sausages and gravy on their plates were great and full of flavor. The service was great. Our server wasn't bothersome or gone for too long. It seemed like a place full of lunch regulars and I can see why. I'm sure it gets more active in the evenings but was a nice lunch spot during the workday.

Yelp
Didn't try the food as we had supper and was looking around DTO. For 1.5 pints of Strongboe Cider it was $13.84 before tip. The service was good but it wasn't busy tonight and they were closing their doors at 12:30 in the morning. The interior definitely felt like an Irish pub with the furniture and decor. Love the tall booths and distinctive wooden and glass panel. Simple but honey like.

Jason W.

Yelp
We watched Super Bowl here. Great experience. The food could be more consistently cooked. The wings and mussels were better cooked in 2nd round than 1st round.
google avatar

Philip L.

Yelp
Great pub to take in a pint and watch some football/soccer. Very homey feel with an attentive and welcoming staff. Menu has all the traditional favorites you'd expect plus your typical American bar favorites. Food is good and the kitchen is fast. This is on my list of places to hit when I'm in town. Please stop in and enjoy.

Yelp
Great service, atmosphere, and to say the least, the food, and don't forget the cold beer!
google avatar

Gabrielle R.

Yelp
Love this bar! This is my favorite place to come and watch a Liverpool game. Although it's busy, everyone is nice and attentive. We have eaten a couple of things here and they were tasty. This bar definitely gives you a feeling that your across the pond watching a game. Worth a visit

Yelp
Pub food sounded good and Harp & Celt didn't disappoint! Walked and and everyone was hooked on the US open, great music was playing in the background, 90's rock/alternative; found myself singing to every song. All the yelp photos of the food looked great, and it made deciding harder. We had 6 in our group, so we tried a lot. Started with the Shrimp and Crab Chowder Irish Nachos. Homemade chips, need I say more?! Our favorites were the Steak and Mushroom Pie, Cottage Pie, and Fish and Chips. The portions were a good size, after all the starters, the server was super patient with us, and it was much appreciated. Also had our 8 yr old with us, no kids menu but he killed his fish and chips. Also got the Bread pudding. One foe the whole table to share, super light, not too sweet. Great meal all around! Little street parking, but parking garage is around the corner.

Yelp
nice little divey Irish bar in downtown Orlando. Our group had a bunch of different food options with mixed reviews, but the beer is served properly and the staff was friendly and efficient. Very Irish feel with the theme and decor. Menu was full of the classic Irish dishes you'd expect to find. Very nice location if you are staying downtown in one of the hotels as we were. Ultimately we'd come back to drink and hang out, but not necessarily eat. Things were good, but not spectacular.

Yelp
What a lovely little place. Though I may not have felt like I was transported to Ireland, I did certainly feel like I was in a neighborhood pub. The Guinness was good and the cottage pie was great. The interior reminded me of old bars in NYC or Chicago, there was a history to its feel and decor and I love that. The staff hustled and never seemed to stop serving their customers. We also tried the scotch eggs and Irish nachos. The nachos were a fun take on traditional nachos and the chips used were really tasty. The scotch egg needed a little flavor and moisture help, but the hot mustard was the perfect spicy addition. Now, the cottage pie was exactly what I was expecting and it sure cured my craving. I would absolutely come here again.

Yelp
Good food and atmosphere. Good place to get food late night. Stopped here on a Saturday night for some late night dinner and drinks. It was very crowded, but it was a good crowd and everyone was having a good time.

Yelp
We visited Harp & Celt on a Saturday around 7:15 to watch the Orlando City game. We sat at the bar, and the service was great. They have a small but mighty beer list that covers everything you could want from an Irish pub. I ordered the bangers and mash as well which came out piping hot. There was a good ratio of gravy to mash, and it was delicious. The game was on several TVs which was great for us, and it was an overall great vibe to watch. I would absolutely visit again for a game and a quick bite.

Gary O.

Yelp
The VERY best fish and chips that I've ever eaten outside of England and Scotland. They were cooked perfectly, the cod fish was fresh and tasty, and the chips were just like from the Olde Country. And the selection of Irish beer was outstanding.. i'm a customer for life at the fine pub!!
google avatar

Yelp
I've been coming here for years! Love this place. Traditional, small Irish Pub with great authentic food! We stopped here for lunch and I got my all time favorite Potato Leek Soup - which never disappoints! I also tried the cottage pie, and it was delicious. I took a lot home bc I didn't realize how big it was going to be! My friend ordered the beef stew and she loved it. Staff is friendly. Parking can be difficult if you're not able to find something open on the street.
google avatar

Mark C.

Yelp
Best Irish pub in Orlando! Food is always excellent, service on point, and proper pints! Can't ask for much more! Magners mussels are a must order and if you make it there before 2 on Saturday or Sunday treat yourself to a top 5 breakfast sandwich in Central Florida. Traditional Irish bangers with egg and cheese on toast. It's perfect!

Yelp
The bars in this dwelling provide an anchor for reality. I cling tight... at last the call of the whirlpool clings harder. I beg for forgiveness but I shall not be released. I know this and sob. Maybe I shall persist and maybe I will outlast the powers that seek to sit me in my place for eternity with wit and cunning or course. I will wit and cun my way into freedom. No sanatory sanctuary will contain me. Tears run wild as I grasp the holds nearby. This portal will not have me.

Yelp
Tried Harp & Celt for the first time this past Friday. I can't rave enough about it. A comfortable and cool environment, top notch service and even better food! We had Celt Pub Chips with dips; Scotch Egg; Shrimp & Crab Chowder (which I've been craving everyday since); the Dubliner; the Magnolia Melt and the Fish & Chips. Every single one was absolutely delicious! I highly recommend Harp & Celt and can't wait for our next trip to Orlando so we can go back!

Madalyn J.

Yelp
Amazing food & service, Jennifer in particular took very good care of us. I can't wait to go back and try their breakfast/brunch on the weekend!
google avatar

Mark D.

Yelp
Service was a little slow because of a World Cup game but pretty good otherwise. Food was so-so. Overall, not bad but not a place we'll rush back to
google avatar

Makayla T.

Yelp
Super nice staff, love the dark ambiance, and the Ruben sandwich was sooo good. The potato leek soup didn't have much flavor, but to each their own I had a great time.
google avatar

Sunny G.

Yelp
Wow amazing food! Beer is great. We also enjoyed the Irish coffees as well. The coffee is not weak and the alcohol in it is strong and tasty. The beef is out of this world, but I would come back here every night of my vacation to have the crab and shrimp Chowder!! don't miss this try it and have a drink and relax here. It's a great spot.

Cynthia Cindy W.

Yelp
Really an authentic Irish atmosphere. Super cool people, great food especially the fish and chips! Can't wait to go again ..
google avatar

Brandon Z.

Yelp
This place is a typical, small Irish Pub, walking distance from everything. The service, food, and prices were reasonable. Stopped by for some grub and a Guinness. Some menu items weren't available and I think they could've added more stuff, too. But I definitely recommend the place.
google avatar

Food M.

Yelp
Great experience away from all the amusement parks. Great food, good for large parties. It's a bar/pub so don't expect it to be quiet. The service was great and appreciative of our business. Would definitely come back!
google avatar

Brett K.

Yelp
Great Irish bar near the Kia Arena. They have all the traditional Irish fair plus great beers on tap and a full liquor bar. Perfect place to pregame before a magic game or any other event at the arena.

Chris B.

Yelp
Great service, relaxed ambiance, excellent food, Reuben fries and crab chowder are especially good
google avatar

Annemarie B.

Yelp
We came here two nights in a row when we were in town for a wedding. The place is casual and cool and the Irish nachos were pretty good. The bride's family from Columbia was denied entrance because they only had passports and not a driver's license. If you decide to come here make sure you have a driver's license. We didn't feel really good about that but didn't find out until the next day.
google avatar

Lee L.

Yelp
Had the best St Paddy's Eve here and then came back for lunch the next day. The potato/leek soup and shepherds' pie were amazing, with large portions. Good booze selection, great prices, attentive service. Raucous, but not out- of- control vibe. So fun, I got the tshirt!

Brad34mlb B.

Yelp
this review is strictly for the fish and chips. Was a regular from 2019-2022. they now use chicken fry for the fish and chips rather than their old beer battered dredge. went from 10/10 to 2/10 fast food quality garbage.
google avatar

Jim U.

Yelp
I'll go 3 1/2. For FL this is a decent Irish bar. They have actual Irish food and beer. Stew was decent and the service friendly. They pour a proper Guinness.
google avatar

Laurie V.

Yelp
Fantastic service and a great spot for large groups. The food is solid Irish pub fare. I enjoyed the mussels as an appetizer. Shepherds pie was very good too. Everyone in my party was happy with their meals. Reasonably priced, cozy atmosphere, and friendly wait-staff. If I lived here I would definitely be a regular.
google avatar

Xavier I.

Yelp
Great place, good food! Very dark though.... But food makes it worth it! Tried about 6 things from the menu, all good!
google avatar

Uncle G.

Yelp
Great staff and a good pint. Had the mistake and mushroom pie...could have done with more steak and less mushroom, hence my wording mistake. Mix more steak in, it wood have bean better. Didn't see any dogs.

Deena S.

Yelp
Went for lunch on a Monday, around noon. Tried to order Steak & Mushroom Pie, was told they were out until dinner. Asked for a Ruben. Informed the Corned beef wouldn't be done for another 3 hours. So, I settled on stew. I had to go to the bar to order myself a beer after waiting 30 minutes for any kind of acknowledgment. Then another 20 minutes for lunch to arrive. Finally the stew came out, looking plentiful, but only having 3 small pieces of meat and being luke warm at best. Probably having died in the window. Flavor was good. Veg was delightful. Very very disappointed to say the least.

Yelp
Loved this place! It was our first time there and it felt like home! We sat at the bar where we were immediately served. The bartenders/servers were outstanding! For many, many reasons, I would go back in a heartbeat! The Reuben sandwich was excellent as were the crisps! My husband had wings and fries...very, very good! Lots of heart and love in this place!
google avatar

Claudia C.

Yelp
This was my second time visiting, the first was excellent and can't say the same this visit. There were a good amount of people between the 2 dining areas and it appeared to be 1 server and the bartender, both were very nice but obviously could have used another pair of hands to help. The location is in the heart of downtown and very much has an English Pub Feel. We were a group of 9 but our server seemed ready to handle it, she wrote our orders down and then things went south. My order was potato cakes with sour cream (good not great) and a bowl of potato leek soup, I received a cup of shrimp and crab chowder, another in our party ordered 2 helpings of potato cakes and received one ( although this could have been a misunderstanding due to question about the number of cakes in an order). Most everyone found their orders good but not memorable, about the time most were almost finished my correct bowl of soup arrived, barely lukewarm, I sent it back to be reheated. All and all not the best lunch experience and if I could give a half star my rating would be a 2 1/2. Maybe next visit will be better
google avatar

Kristalyn F.

Yelp
I've been a few times for lunch & had sandwiches & im convinced that's the way to go because when I went for dinner finally, I ordered the potato & leek soup & the cottage pie... I was not a fan of either unfortunately. Our server was great & really attentive. I will stick to sandwiches from now on.

Deborah O.

Yelp
Food was amazing and love the bread pudding. Service was fast and ambiance was great
google avatar

Vergil S.

Yelp
Nachos Are delicious, So are the fish and chips. I go to this place to watch Liverpool either beat or be beaten by many other football teams. Fun and cool to go to, Easy to walk to (For those who live downtown), and in May of 2022, (Real Madrid VS. Liverpool) Was a crazy match. The building has 2 parts, The Harp, (Only available during Liverpool matches,) Celt is for all of the people.
