Google
my first time at the Harp. Had the fried pickles, fried calamari, French fries, wings, Cobb salad, steak tips and butternut mash squash. Alllll of it was amazing. The service was good. The place was busy for a game and the front of the restaurant was loud but the waiter offered us the back room/area which was nice. I will be coming back here.

Google
Nice spot, I'd come back here if I were in the area. The burger was delicious, the fried egg on top sealed the deal !!!!! Wings were aight

Google
I really enjoy brunch here! It's really really good! The service is good, considering I've only ever seen one server, and she takes a little longer, bit she manages to provide the best service she can and she's very nice! I've never had lunch or dinner here but if the food is as delicious and fresh as brunch, I'll definitely be back for it! I'm assuming the bar and drinks are pretty good, considering the 2 times I've been here, there's been a full bar for brunch times! Fun crowds and good bartenders. I fully intend to keep returning here! Highly recommend!

Google
The server and staff was much better this day.. Fish n chips were amazing 🤩 drinks on point! We will return again 🙂

Google
The photos of food on people's Google reviews look so good! Unfortunately, that was not the case for us. We ordered fries. They were not seasoned at all. We ordered nachos, and they were so dry. The waitress walked by the empty water glass that we perched on the edge of the table twice and didn't even see it or ask us if we wanted refills because she didn’t come to our table to check in on us (she did check in on other tables) or she would be away for a while. I had to ask the front desk guy for straws due to her absence. The waitress wasn’t nasty or rude, but she certainly didn’t try to be friendly. She also did not acknowledge or apologize for the wait, which was 20-25 min for the underwhelming nachos appetizer. Other notes: - tvs with sports - street parking - loud music (early 2000s rock) - very strong air conditioning (personally, I was cold and I saw another table ask to move because they were cold in their area) - no reservation, no wait to be seated

Google
This is an energetic, open and affirming sports bar. The food is solid, and the staff is kind. The haddock is great, and the sweet onion dip is also tasty. They've a good beer and bar selection. Wheelchair accessibility is doable, but it's worth calling ahead.

NK Ace

Google
The food & service are decent. I used to come here more often but they don't have enough vegan options. They have tvs where you can get all kinds of sports on. They have an area in the back that is good for large groups. This place may be popular but for being in Dorchester, very white clientele.

Samantha Long

Google
Very good place to watch sports. They weren't busy on a Sunday mid afternoon and the wait staff was really nice and patient with us. The brownie sundae was really good!

Yelp
Depending on who you are with, its a good time. Always brought the kids and had a great time. If you go with a whiner then you wont. Bottom line I love this place

Yelp
The ambiance of this establishment is wonderfully warm and cozy, especially with the inviting wrap around bar. I ordered the "I'm a Savage Martini" which I as deliciously sweet but not over the top with sweetness. The Buffalo chicken dip, served piping hot with fresh-tasting chips, was a delightful accompaniment. Ryan, the bartender, truly stood out with his engaging and electric personality. His willingness to share the history of the "I'm a Savage Martini" and the backstory of how it made its way onto the menu added a personal touch to the experience. The combination of the welcoming atmosphere and excellent service definitely calls for another visit.

Yelp
Right after a 2 hour run of Pickle Ball, a nice cheese burger was much needed! Aw man, this burger really hit the spot. It was also massive. The runny egg gave it an extra flavor to every bite. My only complaint was that I requested for medium rare and it came out maybe a little over cooked. Luckily the runny egg helped because without it, the burger would've been pretty dry... I'm positive if this was cooked a little better (medium rare), this would have been a 10/10 burger especially for only $16. TIP - get their sweet potato fries as your side. Their sweet potato fries were amazing. Also, ask for their Tabasco Sriracha, yes, Tabasco sriracha. It's so good I had to run to the market and get one myself for the house lol. Overall, with great service every time I come, I definitely recommend coming for their burgers.

Yelp
Food was good. Service was average. Waitress was nice. Ambiance was typical for the scene at lunch.

Yelp
I used to love coming here. We had the same server every Friday for a few months. Also they sponsor a basketball league that I play in so we came often to support the business. We had a miscommunication with another person eating our order and wanting to order another one to go but the host (some guy with longer hair/mullet) was rude about the situation and our usual server also felt we were attacking them when we just wanted things reordered because we hadn't eaten at that point. We still left a hefty tip, just because I rly didn't want any ill will felt between either party, and we planned to continue coming back because of the family/community vibe we get watching sports. Tonight, it was apparent that the staff remembered us and we immediately felt that we were not welcome. The same host was abrupt when seating us asking us "what do we want?" After getting sat, our server came over to ask what we wanted to drink, but only allowed one person to order each time she came over, and was already walking away from the table when we started to order. After a while, we got to order some food, but the same issues came up, abruptly leaving after we would ask for one dish before everyone at the table could order what they wanted. After she left the table to put half the tables orders in, we knew that this is how the night will continue to go, so we decided it's best for us to leave the situation, trying not to start any problems. 2 minutes after she left our table I spoke to the host and asked them to cancel our order and bring us the check for the rest of the drinks that we already enjoyed. She proceeded to go do this for us. I understand that there must have been a miscommunication but she did not tell our server this request, but instead thought that we had just asked for the check without cancelling the food. Our server was the prompted to come see exactly what we were requesting, which we then told her that we would like to cancel the food order. She gave us the option to order it to go if we would like, which was nice of her, but we preferred to cancel the food all together. Again, there must have been another miscommunication because she had her manager Mara, come talk to us. The amount of gaslighting Mara was doing to us was just uncalled for. She immediately started telling us how the food was already ready and that we had not talked directly to our server which caused the miscommunication. The entire conversation with Mara was unpleasant and it was very obvious that she just wanted us to feel bad about cancelling, instead of just trying to let us out of the uncomfortable situation. I proceeded to tell her that her server wouldn't even stay to listen to our orders or requests long enough to understand what we wanted, in which she responded that they are very busy. I understand that they are busy, and we tried to leave without causing any extra problems but our server didn't even come check on us once after taking our order and we definitely had that conversation directly with her about canceling which she proceeded to agree with. This review won't do much, i am aware that they are probably all family, but i never wanted to be more in the wrong about this kind of thing, but everyone around us could see that they had a grudge with my partner and I from the moment we walked in.

Jerry R.

Yelp
Food was edible, but the service was horrible. I went for drinks with a lady friend and we literally had one drink because the waitress didn't do regular check ins. I usually tip well, but my waitress did not deserve a tip but I tipped anyway. I was visiting from out of town.

Yelp
I go to this place after rugby practice on Thursday nights and it's a lovely little bar food place! I've also got the clam and chips and those were tasty as well, but I always get a Mac and cheese and a sprite when I go. Sometimes the service is great and other times they're pretty busy and it can be a little slow but overall I love going here :)

Yelp
Ooo that was rough. Expected much better than this. Showed up Saturday night. Bar full, two tables taken. We were seated right away at a far booth table in the corner. Then we waited for 15 minutes. No one showed up to take our order. The guy who seated us who was also working, decided to spend the time sitting with his friends instead, who were at a booth eating. Finally, we got up and asked for someone for service. Our waitress told us that they've had forgotten to write our names down? We ordered nachos and they were barely covered with the toppings. Both beers that I ordered were super flat. We ordered burgers which came out dry and the fries weren't even worth eating. Our waitress did not come to fill up our water until we already asked for a check. We should have taken not being served as a sign and left when we had a chance.

Yelp
Very busy spot but never had to wait for a table or to be seated. Definitely gets loud, especially on game nights. Been coming here for years. ALWAYS get the 'Drop Kick Murphy' for a drink. Love the food and appetizers. Great service as well

Yelp
Imagine you want to add chicken to your $13.99 salad since protein is part of a healthy meal. That'll cost you $10 at this place. Some extra dressing? $1.10. Your salad now costs $25. Absolutely criminal pricing! I don't think the Michelin star restaurants charge $25 for a salad. Oh, you don't like chicken? Salmon, shrimp, steak tips: these cost more than $10 to add. Insane pricing even by insane Boston standards. Avoid at all costs.

Yelp
Can't say enough great things about H&B! We stopped in for lunch while we were waiting to check into our Airbnb. The place was dead, so our server Nicole was extra attentive, but we were so appreciative that she could sit and chat with us and give us recommendations for later on. We ordered the Chicken Broccoli Alfredo Pizza and WOWOWOW - so good! We also shared the Fish and Chips, which was tasty and fresh! For drinks, we got the #getskrewed and it was the most delicious peanut butter coffee drink I have ever had; and we finished up with the Cranberry Sauced, which was a lighter, fruity cocktail to cap us off. We ended up going back for some late night drinks a few days after and the place was packed!

Yelp
Neighborhood bar and grill with a mildly Irish vibe. Definitely a local favorite judging by the number of dines. Food was good and the service was efficient.

Yelp
This was my first time here and it was a great experience. We went around 2pm on Saturday. You could order off their brunch menu or their regular dinner menu. They had a lot of choices. The margherita pizza was great. I also had a side of fries with chipotle mayo. Our sever was also great. Would highly recommend.

Megan B.

Yelp
This is NOT a sports bar for sports fans! We called in advance to ask if we would be able to watch a game that isn't the patriots game on. They said yes, so we showed up with 15 minutes to get the game on, order drinks, and food. An older gentleman sat us and we asked for our game. He very rudely responded that he has no control over the TVs and to ask the server. 15 minutes later, no server showed up. When she did, we asked for our games and she said she wasn't sure since it was a patriots game. We told her we called before coming and told that it would be possible. 30 minutes later, we didn't have access to our game and our waitress never came back to serve us. On top of them not changing a single TV to another game (although nobody in the bar was watching/ cheering the patriots game), when we asked for their NA options, they had none. I have been to H+B numerous times with friends, but this was hands down the worst service and overall experience I've seen from them. What's the point of offering the Sunday Ticket if you refuse to accommodate any other sports teams' fans. I'm going to continue my search for a neighborhood sports bar and will not be returning to H+B moving forward.

Yelp
Alrite so today I went for Brunch and it was okay . Got there around 11:30 or so it wasn't packed. So now on to the food The appetizer was a bit filling but definitely worth it we ordered the 3 way sampler fried calamari with bone in chicken and fried pickles. The chicken was great I ordered Buffalo. The fried pickle chips were just as advertised. Pull a pickle out the jar cut them in thin slices and fry them...that's exactly what your getting. The calamari is also delicious although at times I think we may have ate a banana pepper because there is no way a few pieces of our calamari was yellowish The Main course which was the hangover Special. Was great .....the sausages were plump a bit greasy but good. The hash browns were a little burnt but, I drowned them in ketchup I ate them. The eggs were Alrite I ordered them Scrambled. They were a bit runny but once again ate the food The wheat toast is 4 1/2 slices. And 2 pieces of bacon also good. The pics should explain everything. But over all on a scale from 1-10. The brunch was about an 7.5. The waffle was great and it was big. I didn't finish it. . I

Yelp
Perfect sports bar and great service! Def going back! Love the TV in the bar as you can sit on either side! Exceptional!

Yelp
Outdoor Patio, Indoor Bar Seating, 2 rooms of both tables and chairs, welcome to the Harp & Brad! Push over Cheesecake Factory this menu has so many options its practically a Swiss Army Menu. The waitstaff is consistently punctual and I bet they leave on time too. They also have dessert, did I say dessert? You're sure 99% I did! They also have these sides: VEGETABLE OF THE DAY 5.00 FRESH BROCCOLI 5.00 COLESLAW 5.00 FRENCH FRIES 5.00 TATER TOTS 6.00 SWEET POTATO FRIES 6.00 MASHED POTATOES 5.00 RICE 5.00 BUTTERNUT SQUASH 5.00 The Sunday brunch (half Breakfast and half Lunch) is a true highlight celebrating cuisine and friendship. Everyone is in a great mood and huggin' it up. They do not have Lupper yet but probably because Lunch and Supper can be similar. Hope to see you all there! Served with tortilla chips, melted Monterey Jack cheese + red onions.

Yelp
Good brunch options. I like the patio in the back for when it's nice out. Prices are fair as well.
google avatar

Yelp
I may be from Texas, but this is by far the best Fish and Chips experience I've had. We were welcomed by the staff and owner, who all checked up on us throughout the meal and ensured we had all we needed. Great restaurant with great drinks.
google avatar

Matt S.

Yelp
We enjoyed finding H&B after arriving in town. 8.99 to add chicken on a salad was a bit much. With that said we really liked this spot. Service was great, super kind. Busy with local patrons and BPD was picking up carry out so that's a great sign! We will be back.

Chris D.

Yelp
been here twice in the past three weeks. they sponsor a sports league I belong to and felt I should give back. food great service great. why a one star? First night I used a credit card I never use and the next day the numbers were stolen. I certainly can write that off as a fluke.. Tonight handed the bartender 100 cash and the rest on a credit card for 130 bill. The 100 dollars magically disappear and we were charged 130 on the credit card. When questioned I was the one tossed.. If you like being taken advantage of this is the place to go. make sure you check your wallet before leaving...
google avatar

Vijay S.

Yelp
Good sports bar in Dorchester. Went there to watch a Pats game on Sunday evening. The bar area was packed. Got the ultimate nacho platter with chicken and wings. Both were Aok, standard pub fare. The service was good. Would recommend coming here if you're in the area and want to watch a game. They have plenty of screens all over the place.
google avatar

Yelp
Come for the food, stay for the service. Harp and Bard is, and has consistently, been a second home for a good meal and amazing staff. Ryan, Nicole (x2), Madison, Kyra, Sydney, Jenn, Gino and Anthony aLeah's go above and beyond to create an amazing atmosphere and create a great night. Would, and do, recommend Harp to anyone looking for a great meal and an amazing drink from some of the best bartenders in Boston.

Franklin D.

Yelp
I've visited 5 times In the past 2 weeks. I've ordered the Savin Hill rum punch these 5 times. Today I go and the punch has way to much orange juice. I ask the waiter as he brings the drinks to the table. What is this? He says rum punch.i tell him something is wrong (only 2 sips) he talks to the bartender she says they are pre mixed and It's their policy that I own it. Even though this drink which I've had 5 times including 2 days before is completely wrong. Not sure but check out your PREMIXED Rum punch. "IT AINT RIGHT". RIP to any type of custom service or manners!
google avatar

Mi M.

Yelp
Fun ladies brunch, loud but good music and great people and football watching. A lot of the crowd seem to be local regulars and staff is like family...they definitely take pride in their service and attentiveness. Food is just ok , drink options are vast and boozy plus lively bar crowd made the visit worthwhile. Solid 3 star but may try again for lunch or dinner with a different group of friends for a new experience.
google avatar

Stephanie N.

Yelp
people go here because it's close and convenient - not bc it's particularly good. highlights for me are baked haddock and buffalo chicken mac and cheese. avoid the eggs benedict. one consistently disappointing experience here is the bar. mixed drinks are just subpar. i always stick with what's on draft. then i noticed today these cocktail names - in 2021? really?

Zack P.

Yelp
We ordered nachos and there was no cheese on the nachos. It was just chips on a plate with lettuce and sour cream. And for $16 not worth it
google avatar

Kyle S.

Yelp
Neighborhood sports bar with a much wider food selection than most. Friendly and accomodating, but it's not a venue you would confuse with someplace that has a legitimate "chef." Still, I love the place and have had more than a few "chicken parmigianas" there!
google avatar

Kristine A.

Yelp
Seriously? I am not sure what happened but I guess the pandemic really threw them for a loop. We sat outside, waited forever to get waited on, had a dirty table & asked more than once to have someone clean. When the food came it was all at once instead of the starters coming beforehand like I had wanted. Then they forget all things we ordered to go on top of our dishes. The service was bad & trying to flag someone down more than once was not easy. I am so wondering if they are going to stay alive in this chaotic mess.

Jerry L.

Yelp
I have had some much better service and some many other place in my life. There was this bar tender blond man with a backwards hat. That had me wait 20 minutes before I got my drink... He attended these 3 new customers that came by before he attended myself.. and when he did take my order (after I had to ask my friend to try for me) asked me if I want to place down a cc to open a tab??? I said no hun it's will be with cash ? He then chose to role his eyes at me. I don't know what I did to him... but I honest know why he looked passed me... My eyes were not as clear as the rest of them such as my skin and hair that's fine... I honestly went there because my friend likes going there... if you want to be racially profiled come here by all means....
google avatar

Brittany L.

Yelp
We came over to this place after checking into our rental across the street because they have their kitchen open pretty late and omg we had such a great time that we had to come back for brunch the next day. There was a DJ at night and that made the night even greater. The bartenders were friendly and got our drinks out quickly. The cheeseburger club and chicken Alfredo pizza were EXACTLY what my drunk self needed. The steak tips and vodka spiced mimosa were exactly what my hungover self needed at brunch. If I ever find myself in Boston again you can bet I'm coming here!

Mike K.

Yelp
This is the best place in the Savin Hill area to get consistent good food (love the fresh haddock and pizza. The atmosphere is lively and fun. The bartenders and waiters are always friendly and helpful. I also love the diverse crowd! Would be lost without Harp and Bard in my neighborhood!!
google avatar

Simon G.

Yelp
Beware of the "no refunds or exchanges" policy on the menu. My partner complained that his drink was too strong and we were recited the above policy by our server. We asked to speak to the manager, Dave, who wanted to argue and educate us on how to run a business, telling us he couldn't exchange a drink because a customer simply disliked it. Wow!! Nice way to treat customers and encourage return business. Giving this place one star for the server, who was responsive and friendly despite the hostile and ridiculous attitude from her incompetent manager and penny pinching restaurant owner.
google avatar

Harry H.

Yelp
Just had the most terrible experience at this place. This place is in Dorchester but it has a widely WHITE clientele and there is a certain air of prejudice there. I was sat in the very back of the restaurant next to the fire exit...didn't make anything of it and waited for my friend. I had to call upon one of the servers after 30 min of being ignored to then be served THE WORST MARGARITA ever. My friend got finally there, we ordered the Nachos, Fish Tacos and a Salad. Everything was BAD. Left very dissatisfied to only find an extra charge of $150 in my card the next day. This place SUCKS.
google avatar

Ashley L.

Yelp
Went here for lunch after a long morning of flying. Had the veggie pizza and bruschetta pizza, along with 10 chicken wings of mild/bbq sauce. It was delish! Service was great along with the cleanliness of the restaurant. Would def recommend for lunch or dinner, or just to grab a drink! (I didn't get a drink, but they had plenty of options to choose from!)
google avatar

Lindsay S.

Yelp
Last week, I went to dinner here with my mom and had a great time. I got the turkey burger with sweet potato fries and my mom got the chicken Parmesan. The sweet potato fries were crispy and delicious. I was happy to see a selection of FOUR different Willie's Super Brews, which I absolutely love and most places that do have it only have the original. We went on a Monday night and it was not crowded, we didn't have any wait time for a table and our server was very attentive to us. The Harp and Bard is open until midnight, which makes it great for a late night bite if you live around Dorchester Ave.
google avatar

Petra K.

Yelp
I come here quite a bit. Reasonably priced, the food here is pretty good and beer's are icy cold of nothing else. If you're craving tonic water however, forget it. They never seem to have the tonic water thing right (I love vodka tonics). The barterers are very attentive but wait staff is never great and sometimes downright horrible.

Lisa D.

Yelp
Ordered takeout disappointed. Steak dinners for $64 gross all of us ended up Tossing it out. Steak tips tasted like rubber definitely not worth the money $20 a meal. Quality steak absolutely not! Too bad this place use to be so good especially the "famous steak tips".

Gino R.

Yelp
Place blows service was awful & the menu is way over priced. I got a buffalo chicken Caesar, the dressing was Tasteless, the lettuce was drenched in water, & the chicken was like they took it out of a Tyson bag and through it in the oven. Im very disappointed. I will NEVER recommend nor eat from here again.
google avatar

Shain O.

Yelp
Standard American fare bar/restaurant. Nothing really sets this place apart--not the menu, not the taste or presentation of the food, not the service, not the drinks, not the environment. It's all fine. I think the management could do a lot to really elevate the quality of the experience. The 2 cheese pizzas for $15 is actually a pretty good deal for solid cheese pizza if you're in a pinch.
google avatar

Hailey B.

Yelp
cody was amazing ! he was an icon and a legend. served us though closing. he was so sweet and so helpful!!! we will be back !!
google avatar

Alexandra M.

Yelp
Came here after work and I don't think I'll be back. Both of our meals were something we could have easily made at home. However, the mozzarella appetizer was AMAZING. Service was fine. I got a skinny margarita to drink and it was a bit odd because they squeezed the lime in it and the pulp was just sitting in the bottom of the drink which made it hard to drink and the type of glass was too tall.
google avatar

Hieu T.

Yelp
Absolutely love this local bar/restaurant! After their renovations many moons ago, it has stepped up the game in service and food! I love the steak tips here! Their cheese pizza is absolutely amazing and great deals too; 2 large cheese for $15.00. I love the little patio in the back especially during the summer and enjoying a delicious brunch.
google avatar

Dan C.

Yelp
Ordered two burgers to go on a cold and dreary night and was totally not expecting how good they were going to be. Definitely going to be my neighborhood bar from now on.
google avatar

Big O.

Yelp
The buffalo mac & cheese is top notch.. Nuff said .. Get that shit. Trying new stuff soon .
google avatar

Punketta D.

Yelp
Reviewing just the pizza- it's good! One day did a walk in for a small cheese. Crispy delicious crust, served fast, good sauce, good amount of cheese, they have other more "American bar food" things and there are a half-dozen TVs and sometimes a DJ (?) playing really loud for no reason? But food is good and service is pretty quick, prices are decent.
google avatar

Stephanie D.

Yelp
First time here. Can't wait to try the sirloin steak and mash potatoes, broccoli. I'm trying the coconut cocktail.... it's good! Cheers! Bottoms up!

Oscar Rolando M.

Yelp
Gino is the best bartender/server he definitely deserves a raise. He works so hard and he always makes sure you're fine. LOVE GINO

Eric K.

Yelp
Solid food and strong drinks. Really good local watering hole.
google avatar

Thien N.

Yelp
It's a typical neighborhood bar. The service is good. The food is solid. Pizza, Mac and cheese, fish, I'm not left disappointed. The biggest thing for me is how clean the bathroom is. It easily had the most pristine bathroom I've ever seen in a bar. Arguably the cleanest bathroom I've seen period. It enhances the experience for me greatly. It's a nice spot to kick it with friends and down a few beers.
