Best Tampa-Area Spots For Chardonnay This Memorial Day | Eater

"It’s hard to imagine you’re in Ireland when you’re stepping off the beach and still have salt in your hair. But step inside the authentic Irish environs of Harps of Trinity, and you might be able to fake it for a minute. Feast on Irish classics like shepherd’s pie and wash it down with a glass of chardonnay." - Matthew Meltzer

Great time with friends ! Nice menu options. They also have taco 🌮 Tuesday. Food came out in a timely manner… I heard from others that the bar was very slow for getting drinks. Comfortable chairs and atmosphere. Indoor and outdoor seating.

Celebrated a birthday with a large party. The manager was gracious enough to accommodate a last minute reservation for a large party when the restaurant was already packed! We were greeted and seated right away. The service was on point, the food was delicious, presentation was very good and the portions are more than generous. Drinks were fantastic! The atmosphere great, very trendy vibe, good music not too loud and the chairs are comfortable. Everyone had a great time, this will be our go to place from now on. Can't wait to try the brunch menu.

Google
5 stars across the board! We've attempted to dine here before but it was many months ago and the kitchen was closed. Well upon searching for another new place to try Harps of Trinity was what we chose. They did not disappoint from our arrival to our departure. The place is absolutely beautiful, welcoming, and cozy with an upscale feel and vibe. The decor is tasteful and the restroom was very clean and also thoughtfully decorated. It did have a hot stale smell but it was well maintained and that I'll take over a fresh smelling yet filthy restroom. The various indoor and outdoor seating is a nice touch providing various options to customers. Alex was our server. She is very knowledgeable about the menu, she shared in detail about the specials, made great recommendations and answered all of our questions with patience. She was kind, and attentive to us throughout our time there. The food was very delicious. There was a small party of guests seated a couple tables away from us and when they left we witnessed their server spray the booth to clean it. Then when we had finished eating and were leaving I witnessed the kitchen staff spraying down the tables in their area. It appears that they do not cut corners on cleanliness and that's a value that I can appreciate. We will dine again at Harps of Trinity, it is wonderful gem in our area!!

Google
Really cute establishment. Limited brunch menu. Nothing quite stood out. I tried the breakfast skillet, it was drier than i would have hoped. Irish cream coffee, did not care for it, I was able to exchange for a mimosa. I would not come back for brunch.

Google
Tonight we had the most amazing dinner at Harps of Trinity! As soon as we sat down the first thing, my husband said with how comfortable the seats were! Our server was Ashley and she was outstanding. We started with a blueberry lemon drop martini and calamari that was super crispy on the outside and very tender on the inside! For dinner, my husband had the meatloaf which was phenomenal and I had chicken Milanese with a salad topped with the most delicious burrata! If you’re looking for delicious food with a wonderful atmosphere head to Harps of Trinity and ask for Ashley!

Update: We decided to give the place a 2nd chance and went for dinner Friday night. It was busy but there were a few open tables and we were seated right away. The noise level and ambience were okay. The server was very friendly but she and the other wait staff had way too many tables, including out on the patio, so all the tables were waiting for them to make the rounds. They definitely need more staff or they need to close off some areas. The menu was shorter than expected with a limited number of choices but several of them were appealing. I had the rigatoni. The pasta was overcooked but the sauce was good. My wife had the poke bowl and really liked the tuna but it was missing all the extras you typically get in a poke bowl at a more asian restaurant. Overall the food wasn't bad but wasn't impressive either. Went there this past weekend to give the place a try. The host was clearly uninterested and incompetent. A lot of empty tables but apparently not enough kitchen staff to service them. A real host would have explained that and not kept us waiting for an hour before giving up. Scratch this place off the list.

Google
A friend and I ate dinner at Harps recently. The decor is lovely and our waitress was very attentive. We both ordered fish and chips. The fish was a generous portion and was delicious. The small portion of Cole slaw was also very good. The fries, however, were limp and soggy- neither of us ate more than a few. The cost of $21 seemed high -especially for a meal we could only eat half of

Google
Awesome owners, great staff! Food is amazing! Update: Went for brunch today and took the kids with us. Our server, Alex, was wonderful. So polite, and she made awesome drink suggestions. Definitely going to come for brunch more often. 😋 🥃🍸🥂🍤🍳

Yelp
Great drinks, service and ambience. I ate outside with my little dog. Walked through the dining area to the restroom though and it was beautiful.

Yelp
Awesome. I truly nice dining experience. To look at the menu, I thought it was going to be the same food just father away. To my surprise when the food arrived it was awesome. Not your same old same old place. Even the staff had a truly hospitality vibe like a good restaurant should. Do not drive by, this is the place you have been looking for.

Yelp
When we walked into harps, it was empty. They had just opened and we had the whole place to ourselves. They let us pick our own table and quickly got us our menus Alex. Our server was super helpful very informative the dishes that we chose were the Aji tuna nachos and the harps dip. The dip was fine, but the nachos were absolutely stellar the best I've ever had and I am quite the foodie. The service was amazing and the drinks were so good.

Yelp
Would have loved to try this place for brunch but when we walked in on Sunday at 10am as posted hours, the restaurant was definitely not open for service. Please update your website! We ended up going somewhere else - where brunch was delicious!

Carmela G.

Yelp
A little hidden treasure. Great food. Service was on point. The atmosphere was metro sheik.

Yelp
This place is trash. St. PATRICKS Day and they are playing hip hop music and they are out of Corned Beef and Cabbage at 7:30pm. Never again! What a disgrace to Irish people.

Ashley S.

Yelp
Great place. Food and service 5 stars. Very Dog friendly and the outside dining area has artificial grass and is covered which is great for my pup on these hot Florida days. Their server staff seems to be consistent with no turnover which is always a good sign. They have the usual hand held staples but somewhat limited dinner menu. They do have specials however and I have to say that their pastrami eggrolls should be part of the regular menu. Overall a great local eatery experience in every respect.

Cindy B.

Yelp
Happy hour prices were phenomenal. Able to get seats at the bar. Enjoyed a special on the appetizer menu. First time and will return.

Yelp
Take with a grain of salt, but the owners does not want honest reviews of they're bad. The food speaks for itself. The fish and chips: there was so much sugar in the fish batter, it tasted like fish fried in a carnival funnel cake. The fries were dripping with oil. I asked the food runner if this was normal, and she said "yes, unfortunately". The mixed drinks were so out of balance, they tasted like watery shots of well vodka. When questioned, the server just shrugged it off. This used to be a favorite place for Irish and euro food, but has slowly declined and now it's finally inedible. Owner, fix the food and stop accusing the reviewers.

Yelp
This gem of a place is hidden away in a little shopping area. Local place... which I try to stick with. Had bottomless mimosas , and always my favorite, shrimp and grits. It was great and I i liked the red kidney beans in the dish. A couple next to me bought me ... think it was called an Irish breakfast shot ... Jamison, butterscotch schnapps and a shot of orange juice and a piece of bacon Soooo good. They had a great two piece band - the singer had a fabulous voice! The interior was cozy and refined , service was great. I cant wait to go back.

Yelp
Came back today to try brunch. Our server was sweet and made sure we had everything we needed (Cassandra). I'm a sucker for eggs Benedict and they did it well! Next time I'll ask for extra hollandaise as there wasn't much but otherwise it was perfect. The muffin was crisp (as I asked) and the eggs were poached perfectly. My fiancé had the skillet and thought it was a little plain but everything was cooked well. We liked that they weren't busy and were able to get a nice table with a half booth. Super comfy. Music added a nice dining experience and it was not overpowering. We will be coming back for more brunches in the future!

Yelp
What a pleasant surprise! Ambiance - beautiful establishment that is tastefully decorated. Food - was incredible. We both got the Burger of the month. Which was hot, juicy and delicious. It was a contender for best I'd ever had! The fries are hand cut, homemade bliss! If you know the difference between homemade and store bought you need to try these! We can't wait to go make and try more entree's. Service - was friend, accurate but was a little slow. However, for food they good we are fine with a little wait!

Susan G.

Yelp
First time we had brunch there. The omelettes were outstanding. They came with potatoes. A side of toast or English muffins would have been a nice addition.
google avatar

Kevin A.

Yelp
We go to brunch here often with friends and family. The staff is always great, food is amazing, and it's a really nice place inside. When the weather is good we can sit outside. The Bloody Mary's and bottomless mimosas are always a good time. Great place to go with friends.
google avatar

Mandy J.

Yelp
I absolutely love Harps for Brunch. The atmosphere is great for a Saturday or Sunday morning out with your girlfriends! Hello Mimosas!! I've never had a bad experience and the food is always delicious. The servers are super nice and on St. Paddy's Day they have such a fun event. I highly recommend if you have never been to Harps.

Michelle S.

Yelp
The burger was good!! The poutine was good! Service was great! We sat outside which is a great area. We will return.

Yelp
Very appealing atmosphere, rustic, quaint, modern, hard to describe but it was inviting! For appetizers we had the shrimp arricini balls & the pretzel. The pretzel was shaped like a harp ....nice! Both appetizers were delicious. For dinners we had the shepherds pie & the bacon-wrapped meatloaf dinner. The shepherds pie was loaded with meat, and the potatoes on top were topped with melted cheese. Very good. The meatloaf was served on a be of mashed potatoes, then topped with brown gravy & crispy fried onion straws. The portions were enormous! I might have given this place five stars but....Our only complaint was that the dinners arrived only a few minutes after the appetizers. Therefore we felt rushed & didn't get to enjoy "appetizers " as they were supposed to be. Shouldn't have to remind a server to space out a meal, but I guess we will the next time we visit this establishment.
google avatar

Martin M.

Yelp
We have been to number of times, and every time we have loved the food and the service. I love their shepherds pie and I've had it the last two times and it never disappoints. They also make great drinks!!!
google avatar

Dawn F.

Yelp
2nd time here, but this time for brunch instead of dinner. They sure don't disappoint with good (and different) food. Each time I have a hard time deciding because everything on the menu sounds so good!! Most importantly, reservations are HIGHLY recommended. You wouldn't think so with a busy gastropub but it's the first question they ask when you walk in the door. Staff is friendly, the food is on point, and the drinks are strong. What more could you ask for?!

Caroline M.

Yelp
just wanted to take a moment to say how much I appreciated Sam during my visit. From the moment I walked up to the bar, she made me feel welcome and took the time to chat with me about the menu and make great recommendations. Her warmth and genuine personality really stood out, and it made my experience feel so much more special. It's not just about the drinks (which were amazing), but the care they put into making sure I had a great time. I'll definitely be back next time, and I'll be recommending this place to friends because of the wonderful experience. Thank you Sam
google avatar

Yelp
Great drinks and ambiance. Food overall is a 3.5. We got the shepherd's pie and it was very average. The chicken Milanese however was pretty decent.
google avatar

Heather K.

Yelp
Omg that was so good... Great atmosphere, great music, & really appreciated the volume was more ambient & you could hear the people at your table. Food was amazing! Great service. The only problem was, I wanted everything on the menu. Great combinations, beautiful plating.

Barry H.

Yelp
Our non profit business group meets and eats here weekly. We enjoy the food and beverage so much we come whenever we want a consistent great meal and great service. Samantha has been our server many of the times and never disappoints. She often has our beverage of choice out before we even sit down. To top it off the owners often give back to support our community! Try them you will be glad you did!
google avatar

Bree R.

Yelp
Since I can't respond to the reply of the owners absurd response in which was completely fabricated!! Your business has multiple complaints & instead of trying to resolve the issue correctly & accommodate, you'd rather defend your employees as if they're never in the wrong. My boyfriend never stood up with a plate nor dropped it to intimidate anyone nor is he 6'5- if you truly watched the cameras, you would have picked up on that. We didn't even finish our meal bc the whole experience was awful. SAM caused a scene as she got in her feelings with attitude storming off the get our check, we watched her snatch the receipt off the printer & storm back to us to DROP it on the table. My boyfriend stood up to pay the bill with card in hand so we could leave. Sam may be the sweetest person to you but she was definitely having a bad day with a snobby attitude. We were having a great night prior to attending your restaurant & despite the horrible customer service & mediocre food, we continued to have a pleasant evening. To avoid poor reviews in the future, I'd advise you & your staff to be more welcoming, kind & professional when at work. Also, it isn't your decision if we ever decided to come back or not, we already stated that in the first review!

Brian M.

Yelp
The staff cares little to nothing about the customers. The food was basic, and the server had no care to make sure we were checked up on accordingly. I get people go through stuff outside of work, but don't bring that attitude to the customers. First and last time going. If you want good food and good customer service, don't waste your money here.
google avatar

Ninja C.

Yelp
The service was very good, our waiter was friendly and prompt. The ambiance was ok, not good, not bad, just there. The food was the weak link here for us. It was underwhelming and bland and way over priced for what was on the plate. The mixed drinks were also a miss. Others seem to like it, so perhaps we tried them on a bad day, but the value for the dollar is t something you can manage easily. At least we tried it, but we will pass on a return trip.

Christina B.

Yelp
It's not the Harps of years ok. Decor is gorgeous, food is amazing, and Nicole our server was so good.
google avatar

Mark D.

Yelp
I have given this place so many chances- consistently the staff are just not friendly or helpful; from The hostess who doesn't smile and seems irritated we came thru the doors to the server who was just lack of any energy, a smile, basically dropped the drink menu in front of me and said here and went away for 10minutes- and the drinks..., weak, bartenders do not know how to make them, also borderline rude.. lots of places to go, this one is one you can skip over...
google avatar

Yelp
Excellent food, service, atmosphere and price!!!!! Folks if you want Meatloaf like momma made, this is the place. Also the Shepherds Pie is to die for. The food is amazing and the price is great too. Try it soon!

Clara T.

Yelp
Service was not great, and the food was mid. The ambiance and vibe is nice but probably won't be coming here again. It was really expensive for what they have to offer
google avatar

Scott W.

Yelp
Got the Ribeye Steak and WOW! Amazing. Service was great and the drinks were unique and tasty. Definitely recommend

Cindy W.

Yelp
I have eaten at Harps manyntimes through the years and just have to mention that the Chicken Milanese is an absolute favorite! Its always perfectly made. I also love the tuna nachos and amazing brussel sprouts! The ambiance always has an inviting vibe and staff never disappoints! Definitely our local gem.

Christy L.

Yelp
Always an amazing experience here. Food is outstanding at a good price, the restaurant has always been accommodating if we have a large or small party. Service is quick and correct! We come here monthly (or sometimes weekly!). My favorite place to recommend to anyone new to the community. Truly a hidden gem!

Yelp
Checked this place out for dinner. Plenty of parking. Lots of indoor and outdoor seating with a variety of high and low tables. We ordered the Shrimp Risotto Arancini to start. They are risotto balls stuffed with shrimp, topped with lobster bisque. They were dry and needed a sauce or something. We also ordered the Ahi Tuna Nachos. They contain Asian slaw, seaweed, wasabi basil aioli, Thai garlic, Sriracha, and guacamole. The wonton chips got soggy fairly quickly and hard to pick up. It also was not layered. Everything was on top. I ordered the Grilled Filet & Pear & Gouda Pasta as my entree. Steak was cooked medium rare, which is how I asked for it, but it had a burnt/char taste even though it wasn't. Not a fan of it. The pear and Gouda pastawas also different than previous pictures unfortunately. I didn't see any grape tomatoes, capers, or garlic brown butter sauce on mine. Also, dry and the pasta and filling was not good. Would not come back or recommend.

Patty R.

Yelp
Excellent food, not overpriced and great service. Brunch is pretty good too. Remodeled and very comfortable.

James H.

Yelp
Great food great vibes hidden gem brunch was great bartenders were great watched the football games

Jennifer K.

Yelp
This is one of Trinity's hidden gems, for both locals and visitors alike. Having it so close to home is a wonderful bonus! Upscale, laid-back, and very reasonable pricing. They have an extensive menu that has something for everyone. The staff is extremely friendly and inviting. I have had the opportunity to visit multiple times with groups of friends, as well as just myself & husband, and I and have never had a bad experience. Don't miss out on their cozy outdoor patio that is perfect in the cooler evenings.
google avatar

Jeremy G.

Yelp
Food is pricey, but delicious. Great place for a date night whether you are having apps or dinner.

Aaron B.

Yelp
Absolutely amazing, the pretzels are delicious and I had the Berger special for the day. Cooked to perfection and served with fries. I'd come back next time I'm in Florida. Although I don't remember our servers name she was great. Bring a jacket lol gets kinda chilly but the lighting is perfect and seats are comfortable.
google avatar

L T.

Yelp
The food and service were phenomenal. This was our first time here, but not our last. My only suggestion would be to add some vegetarian options to the menu. My husband was beyond happy with his food, but I only had one salad as a "choice". Don't let the discourage you from visiting though. The restaurant is adorable ! Definitely try the banana bread old fashioned!
google avatar

Skippy M.

Yelp
Come for dinner - really solid menu, higher end and we'll-executed. Pop in for drinks - they could use Bass Ale, but overall pretty good selection. And, much to my surprise, starting around 10pm they have a DJ and Trinity's best dance floor for 50 somethings. And the staff was quite attentive. Would definitely go back.

Dolores M.

Yelp
great st Patrick's party. Good food and fun. Service is great Without over pricing. Local place Good for family.
google avatar

Bridget B.

Yelp
Oh my gosh their Tri-Tip with Pear & Gouda stuffed pasta (one of their specials this weekend) was fantastic! So is their bacon and roasted Brussels sprouts appetizer. We'll be back!

Greg K.

Yelp
Recommended from another restaurant owner, and had to try it. Had the pork chops, and they were to die for. The mashed sweet potatoes with string bean and the bourbon sauce was more than delicious, it was amazing!! Food presentation is a notch above others and the taste does not disappoint. Service is great, and ambiance was nice.

Susan H.

Yelp
Had dinner there tonight. The food was good. Atmosphere is nice. A really cute place. The Brussels sprouts were our favorite. So tasty and good.
google avatar

Anthony G.

Yelp
Great food drinks and atmosphere. Ashley, Samantha and Alex always provide great service.
google avatar

George C.

Yelp
The Ambience here is awesome. It reminds me of a place back home. The food is solid. I've been here four times since I found this place. Each time its been spot on. Service is always great and they're ate very timely even on a busy night with food and drinks!!!!! Highly recommend.
google avatar

Carlos C.

Yelp
Harps is a place to be. Really cool vibe and the food was excellent. Really had a nice time. The service was top notch with mimosas on deck the whole time. The salmon was incredible and I would definitely recommend this spot 10/10
