This was our first time here. The parking is tight but manageable. The restaurant is very clean. The outdoor dinning was so pleasant. Staff were efficient and very pleasant. Our food came out quickly and was very good. We would definitely come back if in the area.

Best home fries and eggs Benedict I have had in the northeast. Amazing value and the service was very nice and attentive. The fruit is fresh and a great selection of berries for the kids. The portions are huge and taste amazing! If I lived around here I would go every week.

Google
Good food. friendly staff. ate outside dining area. some wasn’t please with the busy noisy traffic all around you and even far off parking because lot was full. that personally didn’t bother me at all. I don’t mind a slight walk or the dinning area being next to a busy road. the food was very good and the staff friendly and the area where you sit is nice Flowers and umbrellas.

I celebrated my first Mother’s Day here this past weekend!! I’m finally part of the cool club! Lol my husband, our baby and I all sat outside on the patio. We went around 9am and there were still a couple of tables open thank God, I was expecting it to be packed. We were immediately greeted and our server came shortly after to take our order. The food was delicious and I could not stop eating it. The steak was cooked to perfection, the home fries were crispy and the eggs were perfectly poached. I had such a great experience here, I can’t wait to eat here again!

Google
Nice place. Low rating because they grille with a Nasty butter substitute. Cook must have doused with PAM.Didn't complain, didn't eat.just wanted out of there. Too bad if they spent the extra 50 cents to use butter, they would keep a customer.will never go back.

Google
Sausages were good. Better than the groceries frozen ones. The home style potatoes were very tender and crunchy. Well made, albeit lacked a little salt. Easy fix. The scrambled eggs were a little overdone for my liking and lacked salt but really nobody makes creamy scrambled eggs unless you go to a Michelin restaurant. It's just too much work. Overall I had a good time. Update 02Nov2024: went there yesterday and for the second time the food was very greasy and oily. I'm not sure what is happening, but deffinately the food is not as good as it once was. Maybe they changed chefs and the new person has incorrect cooking practices.

Very good diner food! Parking is a little tough and it is crowded sometimes. It has great portions and is worthwhile!

Ladies and gents, gather 'round and let me tell you about the unparalleled breakfast brilliance that is Harriet's Kitchen. Now, I fancy myself somewhat of a breakfast aficionado, and after devouring brunches far and wide, Harriet's remains unbeaten. Imagine a world where every other breakfast joint becomes a mere hors d'oeuvre to the main course of Harriet's. Yep, that's the world I'm living in. When it comes to my regulars, it's always a toss-up between the lip-smacking #12, the Croissant Sandwich—a delightful medley of scrambled egg, cheese, and your choice of meaty goodness. Pair that with their home fries, and don't be shy; ask 'em crispy and deep-fried, just as I do. And if I’m feeling adventurous? The Hash Benedict sweeps me off my feet every time. Picture this: English muffin, corned beef hash, two poached beauties (that's eggs, my friend), slathered in Hollandaise sauce. And yes, those crispy home fries are non-negotiable! The Mrs.? She’s all in for the Harriet's Special - two eggs, toast, and those unforgettable home friends...err, I mean, fries! As for my little one? The Mickey Mouse pancakes sprinkled with powdered sugar are her jam. Cute fact: she nibbles the ears first, every time! The ambiance? Classic Rhode Island! It's that cozy corner where everyone knows your name and, heck, probably your order too! The charm isn't just in the air; it's in every plate, every smile. Speaking of smiles, a big shoutout to Harriet’s top-tier servers—always on the ball and ever-so-delightful. You'll feel the owners' presence—they're hands-on, ensuring impeccable service every single time. I've been a loyal patron for a whopping 14 years, and I've evangelized Harriet's gospel to many. Honestly? I see a lifetime of breakfasts here, right till my twilight years. In the race for the best breakfast and brunch in the state, Harriet's Kitchen isn't just running; they're soaring! P.S. A wee bit of wisdom for newcomers: if it's packed (and trust me, it often is), brace yourself for a bit of outdoor waiting. No fancy reservation list here—just an old-school, honor-based queue. And communication's key; it’s a dance of nodding and smiling, figuring out who's next. To sum it up? Harriet's Kitchen isn't just a breakfast joint—it's a Rhode Island legend!!!

Yelp
Harriet's is always so consistent. I got the eggs Benedict today ($14) and they let me equally substitute beans instead of home fries. The eggs were cooked perfectly with the yolk slowly oozing out. The hollandaise sauce and ham were tasty. The beans came out in a regular side portion, which was huge. The service was a little slower today, but not too bad and the staff was friendly.

Yelp
My friend and I came here on a Friday morning and it was at about 50% capacity. The parking lot was almost full, but we scored a great spot. My friend had come here before and boasted about their portion sizes, and he was not wrong. I ordered the #10, Harriet's Humdinger, and it was packed with sweet and savory and was enough to easily serve two people. It had eggs (2), bacon (5 slices), toast (2), home fries, French toast (1), and pancakes (2). The eggs were cooked just how I wanted them, the bacon was cooked to the perfect crispiness and the most slices I have ever gotten at a breakfast place, the toast was a bit over toasted but Harriet's has been forgiven, and the home fries were delicious because of the flavor but also because of the different textures - soft, crunchy, slightly chewy. The French toast was simple but so good, and the pancakes were fluffy and massive. The inside is nice, and lots of natural light coming in. It was decorated with St. Patrick's Day stuff, I appreciated the small details. Our waitress was very attentive and charismatic and did a good job of coming around the perfect amount of times.

Yelp
It's a joy to give this place a four-star rating. The service is top-notch, and the food is bursting with flavor. After spending time in the Midwest, returning home to Rhode Island was a treat, especially for the deliciously seasoned home fries. The eggs were cooked to perfection, and you can never go wrong with Italian toast. Best breakfast or brunch in Rhode Island hands down. I almost forgot to mention the fresh hot cup of coffee and KENO!

Yelp
Great menu selection with many combinations. Friendly staff and lots of tables. Very cost ambiance.

Yelp
The food is an all-American brunch/ dinner feel. Staff is always friendly and inviting. The place is well kept, beautiful open late spring/ summer outdoor seating your view will be filled with beautiful flowers and daily traffic.

Yelp
I hadn't been to Harriet's in at least 20 years. But the food is just as delicious as I remember. The service was great and even though there were tons of "regulars" coming in and out while we were there, we weren't made to feel like we were out of place or infringing on someone else's territory. It was a great breakfast and a very comfortable experience!! My daughter got the Mickey Mouse pancake (chocolate chip) and I got the eggs Florentine. Both were absolutely delicious. And the home fries were very different (like thinly sliced potatoes) but some of the best I've had in a while!! We'll definitely be back!!

William M.

Yelp
My wife and I have thoroughly enjoyed breakfast there. Always good food and friendly staff. There is both indoor and outdoor space. A lovely place. My only wish would be that there was more parking space.

Yelp
A wonderful breakfast find while traveling. Welcoming staff and a good cheese and mushroom omelette with bottomless coffee.

Anthony M.

Yelp
Breakfast portions were extremely large ... however the home fries were a bit over done for my taste . Service was right on .. and the atmosphere was a bit too honky-tonk for me .

Yelp
This is a great little restaurant on Atwood Avenue in Cranston. On this beautiful November day we decided to celebrate my daughter's birthday with a nice breakfast. They have a nice little outdoor patio that was full due to the great weather. I had a Belgian waffle with warm apples and whipped cream. It was soft, fluffy, and delicious. My kids had omelettes with their signature home fries. Besides breakfast, Harriet's also offers appetizers, sandwiches and burgers. Their prices are very reasonable as well. Masks were worn by the wait staff. Check this place out, it's a great place with delicious food and fast service!

Richard R.

Yelp
Exceptional: large portions. I had the Harriet's Humdinger with ham and it was huge! I ate a large breakfast and had 2 meals from the leftovers. The person next to me had a bacon omelet and it looked like it had a half pound of bacon in it! She took more than half home also. Good: varied menu for both breakfast and lunch, strong coffee, active take out business. Average: prices were about the same as other sites in the area. Bad: Busy on the weekends, small parking lot, small seating area and small counter.

B B.

Yelp
Good food. Fast, efficient service. Prices are reasonable. (Yada, yada, yada, yada, yada)

Yelp
They have the best home fries around! My favorite on their menu is the Old Fashioned. It's sausage gravy and biscuits that comes with a side of the home fries. I also ordered with a fried egg. Can't say I've ever had a bad meal here. Only negative I would say is that it's a small place and gets filled pretty quickly.

Yelp
Finally made my way to Harriet's! Enjoyed a great breakfast here in what seemed to be a cheery renovated interior. Tried a veggie omelet which was impressive in size. Also tried blueberry pancakes which did not disappoint! They have a Mickey pancake for kids that my nephew enjoyed :) as far as service goes it was our waitress's first day and she was just wonderful. The food came out on a timely manner and was nice and warm. Loved everything besides their big screen TVs blaring OAN "news". Very pleased with Food and service at Harriet's but please, mind what you you air on TV!!!

John S.

Yelp
This is our go-to breakfast place in RI. It is a hidden gem that you may just pass by without noticing. It looks small from the outside but they can seat a decent number of people at once. The service has always been great, the wait staff is always so nice and the food comes out very quickly. They give large portions which is important in my opinion for a breakfast spot. They also serve lunch which I have not tried but I'm sure is just as amazing as the breakfast.

Yelp
My daughter and I love Harriet's. The food is always perfect. Our waitress with the dark hair is so friendly and nice. Keep up the good service!!! Thank you

Jan H.

Yelp
This place is awful!!!! Went there this morning. Eggs were not warm, home fries saturated with oil, toast stale and overdone. Appear to be under new management, maybe?

Brooke H.

Yelp
The food was amazing and the service was also very good the decorations hung up really added to this epic place although the water was not very good the food was amazing so yah know

Yelp
22 Feb 2023. My wife and I eat Breakfast or Lunch often at Harriet's Kitchen because of the consistently good quality of food served, good portion sizes, and quick service by a friendly wait staff. For those who need a Cardio-friendly diet (Dean Ornish), Harriet's has an egg beaters veggi omelet (without cheese) that will keep your heart and arteries healthy. Give them a try.

Yelp
once you find a place to park, good luck-you enter the overly cramped dining room. Food was good but could see how this place could get too packed. Best home fries in the state.

Anne L.

Yelp
Went inside for an off-peak breakfast. Sat at empty counter. 2 waitresses were unmasked, but complied when I asked them to. The Owner (self identified male) came out, mask under his chin. I asked him to pull his mask up. He refused, with a variety of responses: 1. I am wearing it correctly. 2. I'm not required to wear it at all. 3. I'm vaxxed. You vaxxed? Then it is safe, what's your problem? 4. Why is it ok for you to eat with your mask off, but I have to wear one? 5. If you don't feel safe, stay home. 6. Health Dept has been here several times & we always pass. As I waited for my check, he kept coming back to me, standing close as I kept backing away, repeating the above. I paid my bill, tipped my server, & left. I have enjoyed breakfasts there in the past. But am now wondering what other Health Department regulations are routinely ignored there. Avoid.

Yelp
Great place. Our waitress was full of pep and welcoming. I ordered a blt with crispy bacon on Italian bread. Omg!! So so good. And it looked like two separate sandwiches. The waitress aid that's just how it looks.( Though normally it's a regular sandwich.)It can get loud but I didn't really care because I'd fallen hard for my sandwich and was "feeling some kind of way" as the kids say. My sister had a western omelette, with home fries, which were very tasty. This place is now on my list for consistently delivering great food and great, friendly service. Love it!!

Yelp
If you're looking for really incredible breakfast diner food this place is delicious and everyone is really friendly. We love this place!

Yelp
A very clean place with a cozy ambience m. The good is great, so is the customer friendliness of the staff. Definitely recommend this place
google avatar

Jennifer G.

Yelp
Nice patio, big menu to choose from. Everything that came out of the kitchen could have fed two people easily. They also have inside seating as well. Parking is tight but check the side street for spaces. Service was a bit scattered and I would have liked to see the more server masks on and not around their neck.

Mark Y.

Yelp
Very decorated for Christmas and nicely done. The restaurant appears newly redecorated and clean. Friendly quick service. Nice options on the menu for breakfast. Easy parking and reasonable prices. I'd go again.
google avatar

Josiah Q.

Yelp
Best breakfast in Cranston, hands down. Great omelets, hash, and easy dining with kids. Highly recommend.

Yelp
After my first visit to Harriet's, I was hooked and could not wait to return. The second time was just as good. Friendly staff, great breakfast and fast service. Parking can be an issue so get there before it starts to fill up on the weekends. The homefries were amazing, you need to get them.

Yelp
What a great experience at Harriet's Kitchen. Through the years, the quality of food and the excellent service at this restaurant has remained top quality! We sat outside on the lovely front patio and had a lovey waitress who was very attentive and efficient. Our breakfast meals were beautifully presented , were plentiful and very delicious! The pumpkin coffee was awesome, as well! I highly recommend Harriet's Kitchen!
google avatar

Yelp
Harriet has a great kitchen and a beautiful little restaurant. We were there for breakfast around Halloween and it was absolutely lovely the way it was decorated. This time it's Christmas and you can see that someone really cares about this restaurant and takes the time and the effort to make it look very special. Breakfast is excellent here. I had hash and eggs with home fries and an English muffin. I was asked if I liked my hash crispy which I do but I have never been asked that before. My eggs came out perfect. My friend had eggs with pancakes and because he did not want the home fries he had the choice of baked apples or peaches or baked beans and it was nice to have those alternatives. Actually I think he could have a banana as well. The food tasted lovely and the portions were so generous that I could not finish my breakfast. We saw pancakes being served at another table and they were so large that my friend asked for his to be made smaller. They were still as big as a dinner plate and very good. They had some nice specials with different flavored pancakes and the service was excellent as always.

Yelp
I love this place! My mother in law and I go often for breakfast. It only took a few times and the waitresses were going out of their way to recognize my mother-in-law ! We go every other Wednesday for breakfast. We love the home fries. They are sliced and have a ton of flavor but they are not over powered by onions and they are not greasy! Portions are large and your order comes out fast! Prices are reasonable! Wait staff is great. Even though we had to wait a couple of times for a table it wasn't a long time. Maybe five minutes at the most. Remember we go on a Wednesday! Lol. I can only imagine on a weekend! I highly recommend you check out this place! There is outdoor seating which is a bonus! Why only 4 stars you might ask. Well parking is limited. And if you do sit out side your on a busy street. But please give it a try!
google avatar

Melissa M.

Yelp
Parking can be tricky during peak hours but the restaurant itself was spacious inside. wait times were minimal and the staff did a great job of serving patrons at record speeds. They have a large breakfast and lunch menu and the prices were reasonable and the portions of food are generous. I'm looking forward to visiting Harriet's again in the future.

Yelp
The best breakfast in Rhode Island!!!! Been eating here since the 80's. I love their home fries! My favorite is the multigrain pancakes! Delicious. Love the staff, always friendly and inviting. Very professional too. Great job. Kudos to the owners for having such a great staff and best food with great prices. Love it
google avatar

Paul B.

Yelp
Food was greasy. Greasy bacon, greasy home fries. Service was poor. Waitress was no where to be seen after serving food. She never checked partway through the meal to see if we needed anything or seeing how the meal was. Dropped the check at the end of the meal without saying anything.

David R.

Yelp
Clean place, great service, great selection, good food. Would suggest to family and friends

Yelp
This review is going to reflect my first and second time eating here (I've only been twice). The first time I came, I wasn't overly hungry so I only ordered a fruit cup. The fruit cup is awesome- blueberries, strawberries, and banana. Most places load you up on cheaper fruit like melon and skimp on blueberries and strawberries but not at Harriet's! My boyfriends meal was the hash and eggs and it was such a plentiful portion that he had leftovers for breakfast the next day. Our server was Lea, and she's an absolute doll. Super nice and personable. The second time I got an omelet and it was huge! It was really good too. Boyfriend got the same meal, and we both have leftovers for breakfast tomorrow. We lucked out and had Lea again as a waitress. Again, super personable and attentive. We're new to Cranston, and I feel like Harriet's is going to be our new "go to" breakfast spot.
google avatar

Margaret K.

Yelp
The place itself isn't overly big, but it's cute. Food is really good and at a decent price. There are so many options that it took a little while for my fiancé and I to decide what we wanted to order. Waitresses were nice and not overbearing. Overall, I'll be back to Harriets soon.

Breakfast done right at Harriet's! My wife and I have been a couple times and would highly recommend!! Would like to try lunch sometime. Addio per ora!

Yelp
Tuesday morning, the last thing we (fiance and I) needed was a snobby waitress. Okay so maybe she's having a bad day, fine. We ordered- I had stuffed french toast and he had corn beef hash, in which he asked for well done, crispy outside. Food came and wow did my stuffed french toast look amazing! looks can be deceiving. I sliced and bit into what was the soggiest, just watered down toast. They had used frozen, yes frozen thawed out blueberries and strawberries. When i asked the waitress is my dish suppose to be this wet and watery, she said it was the juice from the fruits. The only fresh fruit were the bananas. If I'm going to pay nearly $9 for two slices of french toast and fruits, the very least it could have been fresh fruit. On to the corn beef hash. We always, I mean always order corn beef hash no matter what breakfast diner we go to. Luckily, we know what good corn beef hash is suppose to taste like so we just made an exception. Their version was just down right slimey, taste so metallic as if it's been poured out from a can. We asked for well done, it came out as a plop. Just nasty. Two stars for the fresh banana and yummy home fries. maybe service was bad for us because I had no make up on, who knows. All I know is the men around me had superb friendly good mornings and smiles. we got smirks.

Yelp
I have been coming here since August 2019 and I love it so much! My favorite breakfast spot and I try to put as many people on as I can! Food is always serves delicious, hot and in a fast manner! The staff is super nice and although I get the same meal every time, their menu has multiple choices!
google avatar

Yelp
So yummy! Great service...even when very busy :) eggs Benedict was awesome and daily specials

Yelp
This was my first time here and it really exceeded my expectations. Let's set the scene. 1am on a Saturday night and I pass this place with a full parking lot and I knew something was up. Full menu late night is amazing. Everyone on here seems to talk about the home fries and I agree they are the best! Great to have a late night diner in the area. Fast service, great staff, clean, and super fair prices....and did I mention home fries?

Victoria F.

Yelp
Portions are great, service is quick, it's got a very homey feel inside, and the staff is always friendly. I go there frequently! The food is pretty good, and cheap.
google avatar

Cory M.

Yelp
Such a quant place with nice waitstaff and great food!! I can't remember the name of what I got but the portion was huge for not a lot. And did I mention it was delicious?! Oh and there's outdoor seating so it's even more great !!!
google avatar

Michael L.

Yelp
We came in for breakfast and loved the atmosphere. Breakfast was ready in less than 5 mins. Fasted I've ever seen in all the places I've been. Everything was perfect. Eggs toast sausage was cooked just right. Staff very friendly. One waitress has been here since she was 14, Katie and a multi tasker. Definetly be back here again. Being related to the owner had nothing to do with it... Clean facilities, keno, big tv, music not too loud. Bathrooms awesome! clean, which tells me the managers and owners care. That tells me a lot.... nice job to the whole entire staff and the cook...fantastic!!

Yelp
First time we have been to Harriet's, I noticed it rated as a top breakfast place in AAA. We eat out for breakfast on the weekends so we have a pretty good sampling of places. Wife had hash with dropped egg, kids had French toast and ham & cheese omelet, I had spinach & cheese omelet. We could barely finish our plates, big servings and all was delicious. The wait staff was very friendly and made sure our beverages were topped off. Looking at the menu we will be back for more than breakfast. Definitely a 5 star rating.
