Love love loved this place!!! Perfect little dive bar!!! Awesome bartender, awesome drinks with great pours!! So much atmosphere here!! So unassuming and relaxed! We were greeted by someone's dog when we walked in. It was awesome! Don't know if they have food, but will probably find out some day as I will definitely be back!!! Outstanding place!!!!

Karaoke on a Friday night was immaculate. I honestly could not ask for a better experience on my birthday. Fantastic vibes and affordable beverages

Kareoke was awesome!! Dj was fantastic at managing the list of people and the microphones and everything. Only thing he could’ve done better was when somebody jumped on stage who wasn’t signed up for that slot to join, to not have turned on his microphone. Bartender was also awesome and had a huge variety of options, including non-alcoholic which I really loved and appreciated. Overall an awesome kareoke bar experience!

Great experience. Karaoke is fun and people are nice. Very good vibes. The karaoke can be long wait after you put in your song but that’s just that. Drinks are good. Bar can get crowded on weekends and sort of crazy.

On the surface, a classic Chicago neighborhood bar. Inside, great environment and great staff! Bella in particular was a rockstar—she was super attentive to us all night despite how busy it was. I'll absolutely be coming back! Their shots are a little pricey but the beer was more than reasonable. I was a little disappointed that they were out of Malört but I can't dock them a whole star for my degenerate taste in liquor.

The karaoke here brings in all types. Some bad, but mostly good. This place was rocking out to the Mulan soundtrack and Lady Gaga, but struggled through Dixieland Delight. Good beers on tap, and they know how to pour a Guinness. This is a quality Irish bar in Lincoln Park.

Very reasonable drink prices. Good wait staff. Great karaoke kj. Cool, divvy vibe. Come here for sure.

Hahahha I didn't know what I was walking into, and that's on me. It's a karaoke bar on a Friday so it's this cute in between of comfy irish pub and lively karaoke bar. I like it. The prices are unbeatable. I would come back, but I would be prepped for karaoke!

PSA ALERT!!! BestOld Fashionedevaaaa In my life. My gosh was that not incredible. Strolled into Harrigan's on a dull Thursday night and didn't have any expectations. Most spontaneous choice and sometimes those are the best finds. Didn't try any food but ABSOLUTELY going back for it and DAT DRANK. Plus the classic ice cube was just beautiful. I give myself 4 stars for not remembering the bartenders name.

Be so forreal u have to be friends with the dj to get a song played. He plays favorites and if you're not a 22 year old girl you probably won't get your song played

Irish bartender would not serve me because I have an Italian last name. "We don't serve your kind here" was the response I received when I asked why he wouldn't serve me. I came from New York to visit some friends from college, I've worked in food/drink service before and would never disrespect a worker. I ordered a drink upon arrival, received it, and waited quietly when I was ready to order another. The bartender who had swiped my debit card earlier did not approach me. A waitress noticed I was waiting, approached me, and asked what I wanted. I told her, and she brought my card to the Irish bartender, who then slapped it in front of me and told me I had to leave. When I asked why, I got the response of "we don't serve your kind here". My friends started to argue with him as he took out his phone and tried to take a photo of me for some reason. Do not go to this place.

Great little bar to come with friends that isn't going to break your wallet! I believe the food is from the restaurant next door which is really good as well. The only thing is that you have to pay in cash for the food, but my friends and I enjoyed it a lot! Sorry I'm advanced for the pictures, the lighting was really bad. My friends and I came here after going to get mimosas but wanted to continue after our time limit was up. I suggested this place as I heard it was pretty good and I'm glad we went. The staff was great! I hear that this bar can get full quickly depending on the day and time especially because it's small but I'd still say you should try and check it out!

It is an okay neighborhood bar. My gin and tonic was fine but the lime I receive had gone bad--brown and moldy. Quite the audacity to serve that--could make someone sick. They accept cards for drinks but only cash for food. We were there around 9:00pm on a Friday night and ready over the food menu. Somewhat simple but bar food is bar food. The server saw the menu out and never asked if we wanted food. When we asked to order food she said, "we don't serve food." So why is there a food menu? I finished my drink and the serve walked by more times than I could count. When we asked to close our tab, ten minutes later we were still waiting. Lastly, it was just cramped, loud, and unfriendly. Probably won't return even though it is just around the corner. Ended up getting some great food and better service at a different bar one block away.

Harrigans is a nice little chill spot on a very busy street. I've been in there three times and they are always very nice and greet us. The prices are good and you can order food from the restaurant that is right next to them. Don't expect to go here to party - this is where you kick back and just casually drink a beer with a buddy.

This is the first bad review I've ever left (for anyone). Your bouncer (Ryan?) who stepped in for karaoke, was an absolute power hungry dick. Everyone else - incredible (hence 3 stars not 1).

Came here last Friday night by recommendation of a friend because we were craving karaoke, and Harrigan's was serving it up all night long! From the staff, to the drinks, to the other bar patrons, this place was an absolute blast! Upon entering you're a bit thrown off because it appears to be a chill dive bar, but as soon as someone gets on the mic, this places come alive! We arrived around 9pm and the bar was only about a quarter full, but after about an hour or so, the place was full! Lucky for us we were able to get a few solid ballads in before the karaoke list because super long. Everyone in the bar was super friendly, and we were all singing along with one another. Real feel of a great community here! Also the bartenders were SO nice! I'm sure they've seen it all but the crowd was pretty rowdy this evening; however, they smiled all night and kept the drinks coming fast. I almost hesitated writing this review because I don't want to let the secret out about Harrigan's, but this place is too good not to boast about. Next time I'm craving karaoke, you'll know where to find me!

I had never been to this place before last Sunday. WHY?!?!! The bartenders are super friendly, the drinks are varied and strong. The place really has the feel of a "local" despite being in a relatively douchey area. I usually do not like Irish pubs. This place would be the exception to that! Came here expecting to have "one or two". Well, best intentions aside, pretty soon it was time for KARAOKE! And a good time was had by all. I'll be back, Harrigan's!

I was the only person of color at the bar. Within ten minutes of my arriving, yhe staff concocted excuses and lies to a) not serve me food, drink, or water and b) kick me out. This is not aligned with the values of the diverse Chicago I love. Stay away.

LOVE Harrigans! Last night was super busy being 4th of July and the bartender, I think her name is Ali, was super attentive and fast! She made amazing drinks and held down the bar being the only one there on a holiday which is crazy but she did amazing, hats off to her. Harrigans is an cute hole in the wall with great drink prices and good vibes. The guy who left a review about being the only POC there is bogus because I was there and there were all kinds of people. Also they don't have a kitchen so maybe he left a review for the wrong place lol Anywho, great experience, will be back again for sure!

We loved, loved, loved this place! Such a fun place to hang out, drink and karaoke! Our experienced was made even better by the friendliest and sweetest server I've ever had. Marissa took care of us and made us feel so welcomed, we loved her! Thank you Marisa and thank you Harrigan's!

Drinks were good... Bartender chose who he liked and didn't without reason. Wouldn't serve people he chose not to like. Unfortunate because that's karaoke could've been fun. As a bartender you should be used to be people who might be tipsy, comes with the job

I came into Harrigans for my birthday and the bartender Ali was AMAZING! She was sweet and attentive. Best service I've seen in a long time!

Stopped in here for a drink after dinner. Pretty cool decorations, bar tender was nice. It was early and we were 2 of 6 people in there. Bartender says it livens up around midnight and that's when the karaoke starts and I guess it gets packed. Drink prices were around average for the area.

Terrible. Sad. Wow. Used to come here for karaoke and have a blast. The owner? Guy? Dude? whoever was watching over everyone like a hawk. Obviously people were trying to enjoy themselves doing karaoke, yet he was such a prick to everyone and took away all the chairs for no one to sit at all and enjoy themselves and watch karaoke. So sad this place has come to this. Bad Vibes.

A very fun karaoke bar that boasts good spirits and great energy. I think this is a great place to come if you want to have a great chill night! The bar tenders are friendly and very attentive.

Bartenders are Irish. Drinks are strong. People are friendly. The Guinness is poured properly. What more could you ask for? But seriously, you can order food from next door (cash only for that), but I always got the Curry Fries and they are delicious. If you've never had them, get them. If you have had some, these will be similar to what you find over the pond in Ireland. They have all types of Whiskey for those who need a liquid jacket. Tuesday evenings theres traditional Irish music in the back, was here only once for this but it's definitely worth hearing. They do Karaoke on weekends and it's just a fun divey bar to check out!

This bar is such a good time! A hidden Chicago gem, this place is great for your re-entrance into post-pandemic night life. Delicious drinks, karaoke, and friendly staff, you cannot go wrong here!! I love to find neighborhood bars and grills where everybody is friendly and not all dressed up with a stick up their behind, especially I this gentrified area where many of the locals seem to be all hoity-toity and would rather get a $20 cocktail at some upscale establishment that makes drinks so sweet and acidic that they make me want to puke. I would rather get a cold beer for a couple bucks in a dim neighborhood bar with several TVs for sports and some good music in the background. Harrigan's is one of those awesome neighborhood places. Inside is a nice dark and cozy place to have a couple drinks and socialize with friends and the food is really awesome and the prices are great. I love the beautiful original wood bar, original ceilings, brick walls, and hard wood floors as old as the building which they probably spent some money to restore and keep the original feel of the place. I believe the bar was open for business right after prohibition ended. So many bars in the city tear out all of that old beautiful interior, put in drop ceilings, try to make everything modern and instead they set up a trendy little bar, sink a bunch of money into it, get a few people from the area to visit, but there is nothing like a good neighborhood watering hole that makes you feel like you have a second home. Those trendy bars usually end up going belly up within a year or two because lets face it, everybody likes a bar where "everybody knows your name". I was in a wheelchair for my visit at Harrigan's and the bartender was extremely helpful in getting me in the door which had a bit of a steep slope but it's an old building and I have a really old wheelchair with crappy traction and dried out rubber wheels. I got comfortable on a bar chair and some patrons were kind enough to help exit the building without face-planting myself on the sidewalk. For the record, this place is absolutely handicap accessible and the bartenders are extremely accommodating. Hopefully I will finish my rehab and get walking again and return for a couple beers and some baseball or football games. Also love the "Harrigan's Hooligans" T-shirts the bartenders wear and they sell for $20. There is a picture of a skull with an Irish flat cap that obviously says "Harrigan's Hooligans" and would be awesome to wear for St. Patrick's Day or Halloween. I'm a T-shirt guy, my wife says I go through them like toilet paper, but I like cool T-shirts and they definitely have one. I don't remember the bartender's name but he had an awesome handlebar mustache and was a super nice guy. I highly recommend this place if your in the area and looking for a cozy watering hole with friendly people. -JD

Just stopped in today after getting a tattoo, and looked for an appealing bar close by to kill time. I saw Harrigan's, and like what I saw online and figured it was worth the trip. After coming in, it's easily one of my favorite bars. Mickey (sorry if my spelling is off) was in briefly preparing for a private party for New Years and was a funny and courteous guy. Pat took care of all of us, and is an awesome bartender and guy overall. I've been to many bars across the states and overseas, and it's easily one of my favorites. Great customer service, high self-standards and a wonderful atmosphere. Plus, from someone with bad hearing, here is wonderful as I can carry on a conversation AND hear the wonderful soundtracks that get put on. I highly recommend coming here, whether for a single drink or just letting Pat recommend your drink path. Salud!

Harrigan's pub is an hidden gem because it's truly authentic. The Irish owner has run this place for 10+ years, and he keeps it staffed with Irish bartenders. Karoeke is balls out.

This is my favorite Irish Pub in the Chicagoland area and one of the friendliest confines to have a Guinness. The staff is amazing, they seem to host different events benefiting local charities. They have a full bar service and in the colder months offer Irish coffees. And most importantly they host karaoke, Thurs- Saturday, maybe Sunday m. They also have stand up comedy on Wednesday's and other fun shenanigans.

As of this writing, I've published over 700 reviews, and I've never updated a 2-star review to a 5 star. Until now. Back in 2012, maybe Harrigan's had a couple bad nights. Maybe there's new staff. Maybe there's new ownership. Whatever happened, I like it. Harrigan's is my Lakeview staple. The night begins as a chill pub, plenty of space at the bar to talk to your chums or to the bartenders. As the night goes on, the place gets more and more populated with good folk. Given the number of wild spots in Lakeview, it's hard to believe this place is in the same 'hood as the patrons just want to drink and enjoy themselves without getting belligerent. I've been back several times and Harrigan's consistently delivers a great experience. I know I'll be back.

Coolest neighborhood bar in Chicago! Great Karaoke too!

Went to Harrigan's with a large group on a Friday night. It's a small, rather intimate Irish pub on Halsted that's rocking karaoke on the weekends. Thankfully it wasn't too crowded that night so you had plenty of room to move around and rock out to some great (and not so great...) singing. What struck me more than anything was just how incredibly friendly the bar staff was! The guys at the bar were super attentive and happy to take your order and the guy checking IDs was shooting the shit with us while some of our friends were singing up front. They really made me feel welcome at the bar! They also take a ton of pictures of the people singing and post them immediately on their facebook page, which is hilarious. Definitely two thumbs up for Harrigan's!

A few friends and I came here to celebrate the annual Pride Parade! The owners are authentically Irish and are hilarious! I loved that they had a mic and were narrating the parade from the window. It was entertaining to us as well as all the participants on the floats. The "MC" (or, being Irish, should I say McMC?) was super clever and had true comedic talents. They were very warm and friendly and we felt very welcomed. It was a good time, and I can see why my friends had recommended this place and considered it there "go to" place for pride every year. I'm looking forward to next year!

Best Irish Pub with none of the hassle. If Trinity down the street is too, well...too trinity... Good conversations with the bartenders and a good pint of Smithwicks...I think they do trivia on Wednesday too.

I have visited this bar twice now - once for a friend's birthday and once more recently for a football game. Both times the bar has been close to empty. Which, depending on what you're looking for, might be a good thing. It was a great thing this past weekend when other bars were too fulldue to football game because we got great attention from the bartender and he also invited us to play Wii! Is Wii the new darts or what? This is not the first time I've encountered video games set up at a bar. I enjoyed it quite a bit and it really opened things up to meet the other folks at the bar. Drink specials were good and the menu is from the restaurant next door. I sampled their burger and the french onion soup which was delicious. Anyone know the name of the restaurant next door because I would definitely like to go there sometime!

Food: This place is a great way to get select cut's delicious food, with "bar like" prices. You have to try the ribeye steak sandwich. Fatty and yummy delivered on garlic bread. Fun: The bartender is a really nice guy. They have had trivia night and bands before, but that is the time I usually duck out. Booze: They have a special for shots of Jameson, I forgot what it is.

Totally fine bar, awkward bouncer may put his hands on your for no reason, heads up. I took a few friends here because it had been a fun time a a while ago, buddy walked in first I guess the bouncer wasn't paying attention and he walked right past and I went to follow and the guy grabs my collar from behind and pulls me back toward him as I'm walking in. I turn around and show him my ID (I'm 30 and look it) that was bizarre. Bar is totally fine, get rid of the weird guy at the door, awkward and unnecessary. We stayed for a beer out of confusion

It was hot this Sunday and I was making a blitz to get soccer gear, a Father's Day gift, while trying to get out in time to watch the Cubs avoid the sweep against the Angels and then World Cup Match. Beads of sweat were falling from my head and I had to stop for some pop at the local Dunkin' Donuts down the street. As the bus was approaching, I realized, "Hey! There is a bar down the street with some TVs, I should go check it out!" Checked it out I did, having gone to Harrigan's before I knew that it had the trappings of a sports bar. Cool Irish currency was lodged all over the bar with a fine layer of coating covered it all. Overhead were two Irish flags and in the corner my heart stood still and I damn near lost it: CORK dartboard ! ! ! ! There were a couple of people in the bar and I gave them fair warning: I was going to blow my vuvuzela! The buzzing filled the bar and we all had a laugh at it. On TV were the Cubs annihilating the Angels while Brazil was sticking it to Ivory Coast. Beers were flowing and I took my spot at the dartboard which was worn but still had more mileage in it. There wasn't any chalk to play with, but I didn't mind whatsoever. By the darts was a Wii that people could play with, Golden Tee in the back and an electronic juke. The bartender was congenial and offered up a menu that featured food from the restaurant next door. Apparently the buffalo chicken sandwich is not on the menu, but they will make you one if you ask nicely. The menu was reasonably priced and affordable, but I wasn't too hungry and contented myself to play darts. I ended up spending far too much time here, but can't say I regret it. Harrigan's, ftw!

Sons of bitches were closed on Memorial Day, and I'm about 94% sure the trivia is rigged (against me). That being said, this is just a happy place to hang out at, it's one of the few bars in town I have been to where (knock on wood) there never seems to be any drama. Good prices, good drinks, good drink selection, good staff, good tv-to-wall ratio, the jukebox has issues at times, I haven't tried the food (wherever it comes from), but it looks good, and I can't think of anywhere else in town where I can find out exactly how many days, hours, minutes, and seconds it's going to be until they dye the river funny colors. So I really wanted to belong to an Irish pub that was closer to home than my usual River North haunts and I discovered this place. Irish bartenders and a fun atmosphere brings in a good crowd. The food comes from the neighboring steak place, which is awesome, and beers are as expected. The Guinness is a sloppy pour and the rest of the beers are often foamy, from what I could see, but hey, that's part of the charm, right? Great music is always playing and they often have live bands and theme nights. And if it's your birthday, they have a blow up sheep, I think. Sometimes they let girls dance on the bar- girls who should not be dancing on a bar- so that's kinda yuck. So yeah, I really wanted this to be one of my go to places, but I have to admit that I haven't been back since a certain stunning bartender quit. Ah well.

The only beer that tasted ok was the Guinness on draft. Everything else were flat and jus tasted wrong. We went here to watch the Hawks game, then left after 1 drink.

An awesome low key Irish pub - my kind of place. The staff is super awesome and even when crowded they take note of you and come help as soon as they can - never seem put out. In the recent months they've had all sorts of activities like a bus to a game at Miller Park in Milwaukee, Pumpkin Carving for Halloween, a Bus to a haunted house for Halloween, Chilli Cookoff, NYE disco party, and even a Festivus for the Restuvus. Monday nights: Open Mic are always good for experimental fun Wednesday Nights: Trivia hosted by Reed (one of the bartenders) - a GREAT trivia and only $5. Some of my favorite nights are just the Saturday that the bar is low key and fun. I would suggest this place to everyone - although i don't want to because it's a very 'best kept secret' kind of place. Cheers.

Visiting from the far away land of Fort Mill, SC - me and my wife took a random trip north along the redline to find a store on Halsted, got thirsty and found this little gem. The food was awesome - I highly recommend the burger or the ribeye sandwich, the drinks were great. We were some of the first customers there, and received tons of attention from the owner/bartender, even as the place started to pack them in. Coming from downtown Chicago, Charlotte, NC and NYC, the biggest surprise was the bill at the end of our evening. I did a double take at the low cost and thought there must be a mistake - but there wasn't. Just a great local joint - well worth the trip for outsiders - probably half-way to Wrigley, and easy stop and walk from Redline train getting off at Fullerton Ave. Need to pay cash for the food which is a little odd - but so worth it.

Not sure if the sore throat I woke up with this a.m. was due to a) my loud cheering for the awesome live open mic singers or b) the fact that my beer was served in a dirty glass... oops. But honestly, that minor mishap won't stop me from coming back to this fun little Irish pub! Good beer selection, chill atmosphere, and friendly service with an Irish accent...yep, I'm sold. Also excited to hear that they regularly have live music on weekends and a trivia night.

So it went down like this. . . At first, Harrigan's was a money find. Sunday Night Karaoke, dive-bar, good jukebox, not too packed. Loved it, frequented it, didn't even mind if one of the bartenders flirted a little too much with my buddies and me (hey free drinks? Sign me up). And then my friends, it turned ugly. . . I was in this packed bar one night a nightmare ensued. All at once I found myself in a small, packed, smoky bar which = prime target for wallet snatchers. Someone snatched my wallet right out of my purse on my shoulder! Then they used all my credit cards by the next morning! I caught them on camera at the Jewel in Oak Lawn! Ahhhhh! So thinking I would give Harrigan's the benefit of the doubt, I went back again. I mean, they didn't steal my wallet that night, right? Well, on the night of my return, a magical hole appeared in my new purse and my keys dropped out! What? Luck of the Irish? I think not. So my two stars are for the few good times I once had (sniff, sniff). But packed smoky chaos will not bring me back. This bar is a good luck sponge and I was its victim!

This place is a blast for karaoke! Went last night which was a Saturday. There was a good size crowd but nothing crazy. The bartenders were nice! The drinks were good and reasonably priced as well. The KJ was so fun and got all our group up in a pretty timely manor. Definitely will go back!

DO NOT DRINK THE BEER ON TAP. 2 people in our group got 2 different beers from the tap and both tasted flat and gross. They need to do some serious quality control of their beer; maybe clean the tap lines too. Stick with cans and bottles. On the other hand, the bartender is friendly and the open mic comedy provides some interesting entertainment.

This place has gone downhill in the last few years. The owner is an extremely unpleasant Irish fellow who is way too loud and opinionated for my taste. Last time I was in I, actually, threw down a $10 half way through my second beer and walked out I was so over this place. There are plenty of better bars, in the area: Trinity, Paddy Longs, Galway Bay, Hidden Shamrock...or buying a bottle of V.O. and drinking it in a private garbage can.

I've had some great memories at Harrigan's. Since I use to live nearby, this was my usual go to bar to meet people. This Irish bar has a low-key atmosphere on most days and provides good beer for reasonable prices. Friday and Saturday nights is usually a bit crowded so I would recommend ordering a pitcher if you plan on staying for a while. Another great thing is that Harrigan's has great food since it's all brought in from the steakhouse next door (get the $10/20 wings). All of the photos on Yelp are old as the owner has renovated the interior, adding TVs, projector, and tables, which is great for the Bears/Hawks fans. Whether its a fun night out on the town or a quick beer (or 2 or 3) after work, Harrigan's is always a good place.
