"The Salamander’s marquee restaurant offers a lively dinner option whether you are a guest staying the night or visiting with friends to celebrate a special occasion meal in the dining room. The menu highlights seasonal flavors, local butcher’s cuts, fresh seafood, and imaginative desserts. On Sundays, the dining room offers a family-style multi-course brunch. The restaurant also hosts private chef dinners in a demonstration cooking studio and outdoors in the culinary garden. There’s also an expansive lawn with several fire pits for a pre- or post-meal drink." - Tim Ebner, Kalina Newman

We arrived for a reservation to discover the reservation was inadvertently made for the following Saturday. The staff agreed to seat us outside on the patio. It turned out to be very pleasant setting for a meal. It started to rain, but we were under the overhang and stayed dry until it got very windy -- but only occasionally did we get a little spray. Prior to the rain, we were entertained by wedding parties walking by and enjoyed the scenery. On a nice day, we would definitely want to be seat outside again. The service is impeccable. The wait staff didn't flinch having to walk out during the rain to serve us -- no rush and maintained cordial chatting. When we left, they offered us a complimentary umbrella. Very nice touch! The food was some of the most nicely plated dishes we've had (see pics). I had the Maine Diver Scallops and my wife had the Morel and Leak Fettucine. We both added main lobster. Both entrees were excellent -- certainly, the best Scallops entree I've eaten. My wife loved her pasta and so did I! We chose the roasted Brussels Sprouts which were fantastic. Be forewarned, the portion is very large -- probably enough for 3 to 4 people.

Amazing breakfast experience to start off Christmas season. The menu was more fun and fitting than in summer time, classic items but with nice twists. Possibly best lox platter I’ve had in a long time. Hot toddy was not on the menu, but their bartenders are awesome and nailed one for me.

I visited Harrimans Grill for the first time tonight at The Salamander Resort in Middleburg, VA. I ordered the brussel sprouts for an appetizer, and a caesar salad with added grilled chicken breast as a protein choice to go with the salad. I also ordered the non-alcoholic Pear Profusion drink which instantly became one of my favourite drinks, very pleasant! Overall, the service and ambiance of the restaurant were amazing. The service from the moment you walked in, to the moment you left was excellent. Clean and beautiful atmosphere as well. The food items that I tried, however, weren't anything extraordinary for the price, except for the drink which I really enjoyed. I would recommend a visit to this restaurant and resort for the overall experience. Thank you

Google
Harriman is a nice spot for a special occasion. Service is great, food and atmosphere are good but not excellent. Overall, we went out for a dinner with friends and had a great time. But the bill was over $200 a person for two appetizers, four entrees and a bottle of wine. It's a good meal nut for that price there are places with more interesting ambiance and food choices. If you are looking to go out to spend a bunch of money, you I u can do it here. But there are a lot of restaurants in Middleburg and nearby Purcellville that will be as good or better for half the price.

Beautiful setting on property of the fabulous salamander resort. Perfect if you are staying at the resort and want an evening dinner where you don't need to drive into town. Service staff was very friendly and helped us with our dinner selections, also very accommodating with dietary restrictions. We would recommend the fettuccine entree and the 6oz steak was cooked to perfection. We didn't get dessert because we wanted to order it in the room. Overall we would love to return!

Google
We stayed at the hotel for a week and ate here a lot. The food across all meals was reliably delicious. Best hotel buffet bacon I’ve ever had. My only caveat is that not a single time did the staff manage to bring the meals to the correct diners. I recommend changing whatever system they have for that because it’s not working. Change that and you’ve got a true five star dining experience. 🌟

Google
Had breakfast at Harriman's all six days that we stayed at the Salamander. We ate outdoors each time. The setting here is beautiful, and the breakfast is world class, we loved it every morning. While we didn't get a chance to try the restaurant during dinner hours, the menu does look nice during that timeframe, too. If dinner is near as good as breakfast, then you'd be in for a treat.

I visited Harrimans with my husband to celebrate his birthday. Let me just say they did not disappoint! EVERYTHING was amazing! The service was impeccable and the dinner was beyond delicious! I was reluctant about the duck because of bad experiences in other places and probably would have never eaten it again had it not been so delicious at Harrimans! I now have a new standard for duck and steak! The staff made us feel amazing! My husband was treated like a KING and I was so impressed that everyone we encountered wished him a Happy Birthday and called him by name after I told only one person it was his birthday. Thank you for helping me celebrate the most important person in my life! We had an unforgettable experience!

Yelp
Harriman's Grill, The in-house formal restaurant at Salamander Middleburg. Virginia Piedmont farm-to-table cuisine. Excellent service by Larbi and Greg for our 30oz Tomahawk Ribeye, baby beets, and Brussels and the olive oil honey cake for dessert.

Yelp
We made the reservation not knowing what to expect in Middleberg. It was just ok. Service was flat. I'm guessing it's supposed to be upscale but or server and the ambiance was stiff and not warm or welcoming. The food was just ok but to be fair we didn't explore the menu much. Drinks were mid as well.

Yelp
We visited last night for my wife's birthday. The first two courses were good. We split the tartare and the agnolotti. The tartare was perfectly diced and well seasoned. The Agnolotti were good but the pasta dough was a bit overworked and far too al dente for our taste. This is where everything went wrong. Nothing was the kitchen's fault. Our server never checked in on the agnolotti course, so we sat there waiting for wine for about ten minutes. We finally got her attention and ordered the wine. Once we received it we began eating our pasta course. About five minutes later we saw two other servers bringing out our Ora King Salmons. Our waitress had not communicated to the kitchen whatsoever. They didn't come to the table with it noticing we were still eating. They brought it back the kitchen, where it sat under a heat lamp for way too long. We ordered the fish rare, by the time it came out the second time it had died under the lamp. The particularly gross part was the salmon roe had time to heat up and render its potent fat through the plate. There's a reason it's served cold at the end. She never came back to the table. I flagged down a manager and had him take the fish back. She still didn't return to apologize or check drinks. Eventually I got up to pay at the hostess stand. She then came over and told me she was "made aware" of the problem. I explained to her she still hadn't come back to check on us after. I have no explanation for her lack of awareness. I explained to the managers that our problems rested entirely with her service and not the kitchen. Absolutely ruined my wife's birthday night dinner. Thankfully we're headed to the Inn At Little Washington this weekend where they would never tolerate this service. Avoid this place for a while, hopefully they improve the quality of service staff. Sadly our favorite waitress was off, then this could've all been avoided. Truly embarrassing for your flagship restaurant.

Yelp
Had a good mid week brunch with family and enjoyed the food with an overall good experience. I would check out the menu if you are in the area to see if it is worth it for you.

Yelp
(4.25) ~ Very good Overall food & Service. Notes: Reservations recommended. Sunday Brunch Buffet (10:30 am) is optional as they still serve their regular a-la-carte Breakfast Menu earlier. As of today the Brunch Buffet is $35 per person, even though their website says $79? (They should correct this) Lastly, I think they should stick with "SRS" for menu items, b/c "Salamander Omelet" doesn't sound appetizing;)lol DRINKS: ** Water (tap) = (4) very good, must be filtered;) ** Coffee (La Colombe) = (4) very solid choice ** Orange Juice = (4) very good ** Grapefruit Juice = (4) very good ** Espresso = (4) very good BREAKFAST: ** Monkey Bread = (4.25) Very good, although I prefer more sticky sauce on mine;) ** Churro Cherry Pancakes = (4.15) Very decadent ** SRS Breakfast Sandwich = (4) very good, especially the homemade hot sauce;) The Biscuits are good, but I prefer using butter in the recipe... ** Sage Pork Sausage (Link) = very good ** Breakfast Potatoes = (4) very good * Chesapeake Eggs Benedict = (3.75) Shredded, not lump... DINNER: ** Amuse-Bouche = (4.25) Very tasty treat ** Bread & Butter = (4.25) Very good ** Celeriac Soup = (4.25) Very tasty ** Wildflower Honey Cake = (4.25) Very cool ** White Chocolate Gingerbread Cookie ice cream = (4.25) Very good ** Kansas City (K.C.) Strip (medium rare) = (4) very good ** Apple Ribbon Tart = (4) very good ** Strawberry w. Brown Sugar Crumble = (4) very tasty * Apple Molasses Sorbet = (3.75) Unique

Yelp
Although this post is about the restaurant, I wanted to share that our experience staying at the Salamander Resort was spectacular. This was our final experience before leaving the resort after staying for a few nights. It was a bit unusual when we reserved a table for Sunday Brunch as the doors opened at 10:30am and we were given an 11:00am even though we requested an earlier time which they said was not available. We got to the restaurant 15 minutes early just to see if they could accommodate us, which they did. Entering the restaurant, we noticed that more than 60% of the restaurant was empty. Not sure why we weren't able to get the earlier time. On to the food, we started off with an Amuse pallet cleanser. First course was a nice pear salad, mini avocado toast, fruit salad, fresh bread, and Nutella bread. The salad and fresh bread was delicious. Nutella bread was dry and didn't taste very good. For the second course, we had scrambled eggs, a meat platter (bacon, prime rib, chicken sausage), potatoes, pancakes and french toast. Everything was good besides the sausage, french toast, and pancakes. The sausage was dry and lacked flavor. The french toast was dry and lacked flavor. No amount of syrup could help it. We decided to box the desserts since we were full. We also needed to box some of the second course as it was too much food for us to finish in one sitting. The servers asked if we wanted to box the food and we took them on their offer. Come to find out, they just dropped some boxes by our table. This was a bit disappointing considering the level of service we had received at the resort the previous days. We boxed it all ourselves. Finally I don't particular like to complain in my reviews but one thing to note here. If you have plans or things to do be mindful to bake in a buffer. The pace of this meal was much slower than normal. It took a long time between each course and the servers rarely came to check in on us. I wouldn't recommend this place for Sunday Brunch. Try another place if you're able.

Chris B.

Yelp
The food here was honestly way better than I expected. I got the breakfast biscuit sandwich and it was excellent. The biscuit was the perfect consistency for a breakfast sandwich and I replaced the bacon for avocado which made it so delicious. The hot sauce wasn't hot but hey. Also their mint tea was extremely good too. Beautiful dining room area with servers that are so kind it can sometimes feel ominous.

Yelp
What a beautiful place with amazing food! The Sunday brunch was delicious and the selection of food and drinks was worth it all. Claudia and Alberto were amazing and made our visit special. I would give them 10 stars.

Yelp
We came here for breakfast while staying at the resort. The seating process is a bit disjointed, with a wait even on a Monday morning to be sat. Upon being sat in the gorgeous room, it took a bit to get waters filled and drinks ordered. We had almost two different sets of staff helping us, with one grouping taking drink orders (but forgetting to ask about milk we may want with coffee, etc) and our actual waitress. We ordered the two biscuits to start and the biscuits were huge and the jam served was awesome. The butter was OK (not as good as expected) but a great app to split. They have breakfast buffet for $35 and I would recommend if you are in a rush as serve was a bit slow. Our meals were huge for the price and really good- they did not skimp on the toppings in the Denver omelette and the breakfast potatoes were amazing. I asked for home made hot sauce and it didn't come so I had to ask someone else who was confused on what I meant but the hot sauce was great. Next time I'd like to try the buffet!

Yelp
The food was delicious and the scenery was gorgeous even though it was raining. Our waitress Grace was wonderful and the restaurant service was amazing.

Yelp
Had heard a lot of this resort and restaurant and finally got a chance to go. My wife and I went for an anniversary. The road getting there as a windy, not very well lit street, so careful during inclement weather. The service was excellent. But the food was not impressive. THe octopus started was fantastic, but that was the climax of the dinner. The entrees (one was the steak) and desserts fell short. Not worthy he potential accidents getting there for the food!

Denise T.

Yelp
We came for a big group dinner. Our server took really great care of us, he and his team made sure everyone had everything they needed. We had a some pretty fantastic drinks. The food was pretty tasted. The restaurant gave us a fixed menu with a few options for everyone to choose from. I had the beef cheeks which was fantastic.

Yelp
Stayed at Salamander for the night and ate here for the first time, it was delicious! They brought fresh baked bread and we split a Caesar salad and Brussels sprouts. Then for our mains we had the truffle fettuccine, the sweet potato pasta and the filet with creamed spinach. It was soooo good! We'll definitely be back again!

Roberta T.

Yelp
Harriman's Grill is in the beautiful Salamander Resort. The ambiance is stately and quiet with beautiful views of the grounds. The menu is adventurous and delicious. Portions are large. We ate there two consecutive nights we liked it so mich. We had corvina on risotto, scallops, wild mushrooms on lentils, Caesar salad with anchovies, butternut squash angolotti. Each one was outstanding. The desserts were creative, beautifully presented especially the wildflower honey cake and the amazing pumpkin toffee pudding which is English toffee pudding in a small roasted, edible pumpkin shell covered in a warm Remy Martin sauce with almonds and pecans. Our waiter, Oscar, was very knowledgeable, extremely pleasant and provided exceptional service. The manager, Carlos, was very solicitous and attentive.

CL H.

Yelp
From arrival to departure, we could not have had a better experience for a special Valentine's dinner. Hosts and wait staff were warm and welcoming. Timing was perfect and well coordinated between courses. Server was friendly and informative, knowledgeable about questions we had. And valet/coat check staff were helpful and efficient. Food and cocktails of course were perfect. It was a beautiful night.

Cynthia L.

Yelp
Harriman's is a mixed bag for me. Aside from room service, this is really the only place to eat on the property, if you are staying at Salamander. There were some super hits and super misses for the dinner and breakfast we had here. Our group of 6 gals tried quite a bit from their menu. Hits: Grilled Octopus Appetizer and Mash for dinner. Strawberry Pound French Toast and Egg White Frittata for breakfast. Misses: Scallops (overpowering curry with a sprinkle of vegetables that could be eaten in 5 bites) and Hazelnut Trifle dessert for dinner (as my gf said: overpriced grocery store chocolate dessert). Cinnamon Apple Pancakes (just regular pancakes with a smear of cinnamon butter and reduced apples) and Potatoes (not salted enough) for breakfast. Our waiter told us they got a new Chef after they came back from Covid in Jul. 2020, so if you've visited before and had better (food)experiences, that might explain it. Service is standard for the price point, but expect to be sitting for 2-3 hours for dinner. Pricey dinner it is, for sure.

Eric W.

Yelp
Reservations are absolutely necessary. The parking situation is unreliable, as it's connected to the Salamander Resort and Spa. The food here is amazing. I VERY HIGHLY recommend their mashed potatos, it's delicious. Their Surf'and'Turf is also great, and the service is amazing. The interior is cute, and you can see the firepits and grass outside. Overall, this place is the best.

Elizabeth S.

Yelp
We went here for breakfast. Was amazing! The "dirty bird" was a crazy combo - but so flavorful and would order again in a heartbeat. The Denver omelette was very traditional/plain - would only order again if desiring to be healthy/good. Prices are high. One side order egg = $5.

Chanel N.

Yelp
The food was decent. Nothing special. The service was great and the atmosphere is nice.

Melanie M.

Yelp
Our family has been coming to the Harrimans Grill for years but, unfortunately, we have yet to be impressed by the brunch here. While the service is great and they welcome us every time, the food here is nowhere close to what it should be for the price you pay. The restaurant uses imitation eggs, the meat can be found at your local breakfast joint, the drinks were mediocre, and nothing we ate was memorable. If it weren't for us loving the owner and servers, I don't think we would ever come back here. The food needs to improve -- I'm holding out hope!

Chris C.

Yelp
I have been looking for a good breakfast restaurant for awhile now. Something with a really classy atmosphere with a good selection of food on the menu. I am so glad I found Harrimans! My wife and I were seated at a table for 2 right next to the window overlooking the gorgeous grounds of the Salamander Resort and Spa. It was a beautiful day, so the window was key. As soon as we sat, a man named Earl brought my wife a small stool to put her purse on. Something I had never seen before, but my wife loved it! She is always having to hang her purse on a chair or set it on the floor. Earl poured us some water and took our drink orders before our waitress arrived. I ordered an orange juice, and my wife ordered a chai tea latte. Kudos to Earl, a consummate professional. Our waitress Catherine arrived shortly after Earl left and introduced herself. Throughout our entire meal, Catherine was attentive, very flexible and kind. She asked if we needed any additional drinks, and my wife decided to order some grapefruit juice and try out the kombucha. All of the drinks were delicious. The orange and grapefruit juices tasted fresh squeezed, the chai tea latte was rich and flavorful, and the kombucha (which has never really been my thing) was surprisingly refreshing. We placed out order with Catherine next. I ordered the Oscar Omelette and a biscuit with a side of applewood smoke bacon. My wife ordered the "Dirty Bird." My omelette was FANTASTIC. So flavorful, and they definitely didn't skimp on the crabmeat. The hollandaise sauce was a nice touch to the omelette. The potatoes were crisp and seasoned well. The biscuit was huge! I buttered it and added a couple of different French jams that were on the table. So good. My wife's meal was just as tasty if not more so. It was biscuits with chicken sausage, sausage gravy, chicken tenders and a hot sauce drizzle on top. Bursting with flavor! Thank goodness that she took home some leftovers that I am totally going to steal later. Based on our experience, I will most definitely be making Harrimans our go-to breakfast restaurant! I'd give it 6 stars if I could!

Chan C.

Yelp
This was my first visit. I traveled from Chicago. The ambiance was classy but not pretentious. We came for breakfast and we were pleased. Earl, our server was a pro and very informed. For starters we ordered the monkey bread and I was a little disappointed because I was expecting the light, fluff and airy sweet buttery and cinnamon goodness from my childhood Christmas mornings instead it was very dense but it could be a matter of preference and not a defect. We sent it back. I ordered the crab cake Benedict which was delicious and my friend ordered the traditional bacon and eggs. Both entrees came with smashed potatoes. I love smashed potatoes. It was a nice experience and I'll go back. However, I'm tempted to make homemade monkey bread cuz now I have a craving. Lol

Saad P.

Yelp
The only reason I am leaving two stars is for EARL (Manager), he tried to make it a better experience for us but the food comes out SLOW, COLD and NOT FRESH... especially for the price you pay!!!! Enough said, good luck

Bella J.

Yelp
Out of this world good! HIGHLY recommend. They have a NEW CHEF since it opened 3 weeks ago and they now have more on the menu including the Chilean sea-bass! 1. Food - amazing The bread and butter was amazing. Just like all high-end steak houses, they have warm, fresh and 3 types of bread with airy butter. You will enjoy everything from the bread they put down to the last bite of your dessert. Amuse bouche - slightly spicy, but delicious watermelon juice with rosemary will beautifully prepare your palette for the meals to come. Chilean Seabass - great, comes with vegetable ratatouille, perfectly portioned and delicious Bone-in steak - cooked to perfection and delicious Pasta - al dante and sauce was nice and light 2. Desserts - great, especially the presentation Fruit tart - serves at least 2 people. Beautiful display. It has everything cold sorbet, warm bread soaked in strawberry, cookies, fresh fruit, decorative flowers, clash of hot and cold and contrasting colors all present. Such an ART ON A PLATE! 3. Drinks - also great Blackberry Moscow mule was amazing, that is coming from me, someone who doesn't normally like Moscow mule. Old Fashioned - good, not the best I had, but still good. Wine selection - great and we thoroughly enjoyed our choice Cappuccino - I was even happy with my cappuccino, they did a great job. 4. Service - amazing 5. Location - located inside Salamander resort, so it is a great location already. Love the patio seatings during the summer. 6. Valet available - in case you are not staying at the resort and only came for the food, valet and self parking all available. I would highly recommend this place for birthdays, business meals, family dinner, what have you. Perfect for any occasion place. Also, it is a steak house, let's make sure we are all dressed for the occasion just for fun!

Patrise S.

Yelp
This restaurant is a hidden treasure nestled in trees Amos winding roads. It was a chilly night and I was meant to be dropped off, but there was courteous valet service and we decided to splurge. Upon entering, there were beautiful decorations and patrons leisurely taking photos with Mrs. Claus and an elf in front of the tree. In the background, a love pianist plays standards and others converse by the fireplace. Passing chilled bottles of champagne, I spy the library, a legit library with comfy chairs and another fireplace. Music was piped in and the sounds of the foyer couldn't be heard. There we brought two tasty libations and admired the literature and well as the board games. We weren't there for the resort, so this was just a teaser. I feel that another visit will be in order, when we prudently save up. The restaurant was also beautiful. We enjoyed the drinks there and the cornbread with salamander honey, mmmhmm! Our food was good, yet simple.

Yelp
Harrimans is usually our favourite for special mother-daughter time; however, our recent Sunday brunch experience was quite disappointing. Six different staff members attended to our table during the meal, yet it took a long time to receive water, coffee, or our meals. While waiting for our meal I repeatedly had to request a coffee refill, and when I finally received one, the cup was filled a quarter of the way. I ordered the açaí bowl, but they forgot a spoon and by the time I was brought one, the bowl was mostly melted and warm. My mother ordered The Harrimans Breakfast and substituted the bacon for fruit (which ended up being all melon), and for which there was an upcharge. I hope Harrimans returns to the quality of service we know it can be.

Andrea S.

Yelp
Traveled to the Salamander Resort in Middleburg VA and had dinner at Harrimans. I had oysters topped with caviar to start. It was delicious so I had two. I had grilled octopus and field peas as an appetizer. Surprisingly it tasted like red beans and rice. Very delicious. My entree was beef short rib, potato puree, Brussels, and asparagus. Everything was great! I took a star away because the drive was 90minutes from DC

Roxana K.

Yelp
We came from the DMV area for a day at the spa. Made a reservation on open table which was easy to do (make sure you check when your cancellation window is so you don't get a charge- otherwise don't plan to cancel last minute). We did the Sunday brunch ($75 a person, there's a $20 unlimited mimosa option). Definitely more costly compared to some of the higher end bottomless brunches in the DC area. The menu is set and they bring enough of each portion out for however many are in your party (so we were a party of 3, so we got 3 servings of each course/item). Food was good (pretty simple American food), and the staff was very kind. We got boxes for each course, which was great because then there doesn't have to be excessive food waste! The food/drink moved a bit on the slower side, so be prepared to sit and relax for 1.5ish hours to account for all of the courses and the downtime between them. Was a bit on the slow side (asked for some things a few times before receiving, coffee was lukewarm each time poured, etc). Parking on site, there's a self park lot. They had a more bar type seated area which I think is what I'd try next.

Clayton G.

Yelp
Erin was just exceptional! she truly provided "Unreasonable Hospitality"!! Thanks again for a special experience.

Rachel H.

Yelp
We enjoyed dinner and breakfast here during our stay at The Salamander. Dinner was incredible and our server was extremely knowledgeable about wines and food pairings. We enjoyed the wagyu filet, table side tartare, and the roasted brussel sprouts with the cider vinaigrette were delicious. Wish we had saved some room for dessert! Breakfast was good too- the biscuits were worth saving to take home. The view was great, even on a rainy day. Thanks for a wonderful dining experience!

Zachary N.

Yelp
I would absolutely recommend Harrimans for an incredible experience. Our server Haroun made some wonderful recommendations for our meal. the dining room is beautiful and the food is out of this world. Harrimans is definitely one of the best dining experiences we've had in Virginia.

Joshua G.

Yelp
Really good food. I would have getting it a 5 star but I'm being a little discerning because it's breakfast food which typically isn't very difficult to get right. I was a guest at the resort so the staff greeted me by name. The service was excellent. The food was delicious. The pomegranate mimosa was really nice. I also had a green tea which they allow you to steep to your presence which comes along with a timer and steeping chart. Definitely would recommend!

Robert S.

Yelp
Now this place is a joke. The food is either frozen or ill prepared their first chef sucks so bad they finally got rid of them and they keep replacing them over and over again now with qualified Mexicans doing most of the cooking but again it's mediocre and not worth the price certainly wouldn't eat there ever again Sheila Johnson's billions have yet to prove themselves as interpretations of tasteful food and hospitality. Go for an overpriced burger sit on the deck, have a drink and watch everybody look at each other, trying to figure out who is rich and who's not -all in all a waste of time

Yelp
We celebrated our wedding anniversary at the Harriman's today. It started out nicely with a glass of nice wine and some bread and house made butter which was nice. We ordered buttered pasta for our daughter and I asked if they could do spaghetti to which I was assured that they absolutely could do it. Our appetizers came next. Octopus was fine but parsnip soup too salty to eat. Pasta came at the same time. It had marinara sauce and small wavy fusilli looking pasta. I told them I did not order marinara. No apologies. About 15 minutes later they brought again the same pasta, overcooked and falling apart. Half of the bowl was filled with water. It resembled a pasta soup. The waitress came over, again without apologizing and asked if everything was to our liking. I asked her why they did not make spaghetti like she said they could do, to which she said that this was the pasta they served (no apology again). Then I told her that the pasta was falling apart and overcooked and that half of the bowl was full of water. She looked at it and said that it was melted butter. Pasta was barely warm and any butter would have solidified by now. It literally looked like they rinsed marinara sauce off the noodles and just tossed them back in the plate. At that point my toddler just ate bread and butter. Entrees came later. Cod was dry and sauce it came with was very salty. Wagyu steak was ok, a bit chewy. For dessert we got their pannacotta which was the best dish out of our meal. When the waitress came over to check up on us and asked how we were liking it, I told her that their dessert was the best dish out of the whole dinner. She said that she was very happy we enjoyed our meal. Clearly there was something lost in the translation. All in all, a rather disappointing experience, especially for a wedding anniversary celebration.

Wayne H.

Yelp
Wayne H. We enjoyed a 5 Star celebration at Harrimans Virginia Piedmont Grill the evening of 8 June. The service was fantastic and the food excellent. The unique anniversary deserts were a special treat. Staff recognition of our 55th wedding anniversary made the evening very special for us both in the Grill and at the Gold Cup Wine Bar. Lucy with reservations set up and ensured a memorable event that we will long cherish.

Dennis C.

Yelp
Great food and service. Met all expectations for a fine dining experience. My wife and I will be back when we visit Middleburg again.

Joanie R.

Yelp
I have been to Harriman's twice in the past 40 days. My first experience was breakfast with my husband, second experience lunch with a friend. I foolishly gave this place two chances. I had convinced my husband to take me somewhere nicer than IHOP. We dressed up, drove an hour and valeted the car. After 25 min we finally met our server and we placed our order right away. We were starving. While waiting for our food, breakfast hour turned into lunch hour. When our food arrived it was stone COLD. Like they had been keeping my traditional scrambled egg breakfast in the fridge!! I commented to the server. She offered to remake it but by that point we had been waiting far too long. Half of my husbands meal was forgotten. We asked for the bill. We paid full price for our cold breakfast for two, over $120. I was sour on the experience. FOOLISHLY, I decided to give this place a second shot a month later with a visiting friend. This time for lunch. Lunch was better. The food was actually warm. But expect to be sitting for at least 60 mins. Service is not quick here. I ordered the Burger no modifications, an Arnold Palmer and she ordered the Shrimp Tacos no modifications and a glass of wine. My husband got the chicken fingers and a Diet Coke. Decent but nothing to write home about. However my Arnold Palmer was $8.00. And I only had one (no refills). Last time I paid that price I was at The Ritz in Paris. Salamander may be one of the world's finest resorts but Harriman's is one BIG let down of an establishment. Never have I been so disappointed in a dining experience. Food and service are poor. I am a fair judge as I have worked in the food and beverage industry. I can confidently say I have had better experiences at Denny's.

Yelp
My review will be on food only as my food was to go. I ordered something simple as I was having a spa day and was running late for breakfast. I ordered the SRS. A simple breakfast sandwich that turned out to be amazing. Although it was pricey it was huge. A savory buttery biscuit wit chicken sage sausage, over easy egg, bacon and cheddar cheese with this sweet and savory hot sauce. I swear it was like tasting a sun ray on a spring morning. I'm very disappointed that we didn't eat lunch there. It seems as if this is a hidden jewel.

Yelp
Went to the Grill for the first time. Breakfast was great and the service was awesome. Had a hiccup with the food, but the correction was made promptly. The Inn, property and ambiance were spectacular. Shout out to Earl. One of the best managers ever. Took a cooking class. The experience was awesome and everything we expected. A great memory to cherish. Only issue was the high percent of auto gratuity based on the cost of the class. Not acceptable. Recommend making the upfront cost higher and only tip the server based on drink order. This is the very reason new gratuity laws have been passed recently due to shenanigans.

Yelp
Harriman's knocked it out of the ball park. We had Sunday brunch, and it was absolutely wonderful. The staff were top notch professional, and really do make your visit here a great experience.

Yelp
Asian pork rolls were a joke considering the price. It was supposed to be a wrap and came out with iceberg lettuce. Really! Then they had a cheap standard chili sauce. Nothing worthy of a "five star" hotel. The shrimp shared plate was pretty good. It all seems pretty basic. We went out to a Thai restaurant in town that was excellent for dinner. Save your money.

Yelp
We had not been to Harriman's in about a year and a half, so while in the area on a Sunday with friends, we decided to give it a try again... and were happy we did. Overall, the flavors are spot on, nearly perfect! The plating is unbelievably perfect and beautiful! Cornbread was OUTSTANDING! Smoked scallops were AWESOME! Shortrib - AMAZING and with no fat, but tender and perfectly prepared! Service was decent, the co-server was better than the main/primary server. Venue is very pretty, slightly casual for the prices they charge, but still very nice. Overall, we can't wait to return!

Yelp
Been here countless times for brunch and it never disappoints! $75 per person, which seems a lot at first, but we got: smoothie sampler, fruit tray, assorted pastries, salad, mini avocado toasts, scrambled eggs, potatoes, apple butter pancakes, strawberry shortcake french toast, cranberry turkey, bacon, and chicken sausage! One part that I loved was that we were allowed to box up what we didn't finish and take it home. Gave us our money's worth and helped reduce food waste! All of the food was amazing and our server was so kind and attentive as well. Will be returning again soon :)

Yelp
I booked a table through open table for the Sunday family style brunch buffet. With COVID, the team has done measures to make you feel safe. The three courses were perfectly portioned for our party of three. We absolutely loved everything. It was so filling and the mimosas were Devine. I love that we could box up what we didn't eat from each course. Everything was so good I cannot even begin to choose what was the favorite. We will definitely be back.

Yelp
We had one of the valentine's prefix dinners. It was VERY expensive and not good at all. Here's my breakdown: Summary: This is my second time eating here and it will be my last. The first was pretty bad but we decided to try again with the new chef. I do not recommend at all. It was by far the least good food we ate during our stay but also the most expensive, by far. 1. The food: There was not a single one of the six courses that was better than a crispy chicken sandwich at McDonald's. The presentation was mediocre and my husband and I couldn't stop comparing this egregiously expensive meal to other very inexpensive things that we can buy or make at home. For example, Rana Lobster Ravioli prepared in a brown butter sauce is by far tastier than anything we were served. The shrimp tacos served in the Gold Cup (also at the Salamander) was better than any one of the items served. The Goodstone is less expensive than this meal and it is not in the same ballpark - at all. 2.The Wine: This meal included wine parings. There were a couple of really delicious wines and a couple of just OK wines. The pours were satisfying. 3. The Service: The service was fine except our server just kept telling us - nonstop - how amazingly good our dinner was. She wasn't really interested in what we thought about the food at all. 4. The Venue: The dining room is lovely but we were initially sat in a room off to the side of the hallway where no one else was sitting. The music was barely audible and you could hear the goings on in the kitchen. We asked to be moved to the main dining room, which was mostly empty. We (2 of us) were sat at a very large round table very close to the entrance. There were many available romantic, appropriately sized tables near the window but where we sat we could hear everything in the hall, including crying babies from diners at the Gold Cup. 5. The Price: After they added a 22% gratuity, the meal was over $600 for 2. Just unbelievable. We felt gouged.

Yelp
Amazing dinner and the service was incredible. Everything was cooked to perfection. They use a lot of locally-sourced foods and they're all delicious. A must stop on your vacation!

Yelp
Overview: We celebrated my husband's 33rd birthday here and had an absolutely delightful time. The service was top notch. The food was delicious. My only minor complaint was that the specialty cocktails were just alright. Appetizers: My husband had the Baked Camembert and I had the Brussels Sprouts Caesar for appetizers. Both were delicious. My husband could not decided between the Baked Camembert or the Burrata, much to our delight we were brought a complimentary tasting of the Burrata after we had finished our appetizers. It was very delicious and new as a seasonal option. Entrees: My husband ordered the Not Your Mother's Pork Chop and a side of mashed potatoes (so big, you better be hungry!). I ordered the Roasted Corvina. Both were delicious but after all of the appetizers we were stuffed and could not finish everything. Dessert: We witnessed some delicious looking desserts being delivered to other tables, however we were too stuffed to order anything else. They did give my husband some complimentary brownies for his birthday that we took back to our room. Drinks: My husband had the Blackberry Mule and I had the dark and stormy. The drinks were alright but compared to everything else in the restaurant, not the most memorable part.
