My husband and I have gone here somewhat regularly for the past several years. Originally the food was great. Prices were never cheap but they gave good portions and everything was delicious. But over the last couple of years things have changed. Portions keep getting smaller and prices have gone up. The last time I went I ordered the regular burger which is around $20. There was no wow factor. I could made a better burger at home for $5. I’m sorry but it’s nuts to do this at a restaurant that’s so off the beaten path. If they want people to keep coming back, make the food memorable and stop raising prices. I will say that they do have a decent kids menu which I appreciate, but the rest of the place isn’t kid friendly. Would it kill you to build a small playground for kids somewhere on your vast property? That would pull more families to the restaurant as well.

Google
Cookies are really good here, along with the steaks they sell. Bathrooms are always clean and the have a small toilet for kids in both the women's and men's restroom. The gas station and BBQ joint across the street is good also, food is really good. Lines can get long but they usually move quick enough. I didn't stay the night here so I can't comment on the rooms, only a pit stop.

The Bathrooms here are nice for travelers. We have never stayed at the hotel. We could never afford to try one of the 3 restaurants at this resort until this year. We were so excited to plan out our drive to stop for dinner at the Harris Ranch restaurant that is not the most expensive one. We were so excited to try beef items because we thought this restaurant has their own ranch that produces high quality beef. The $20 Ranch burger was a little thicker than some of the cheapest fast food restaurant burgers, but some fast food burgers are better than this one was. The burger was very salty. The $28 French Dip sandwich was only 6 inches long and contained poor quality dry beef and had an aged flavor that might be too aged. The $27 Shepards Pie is a western version like a chili soup topped with Mashed potatoes that were not mostly potatoes (something else was added). We feel like we wasted our money. We will go back to stopping at the fast food restaurants for dinner on the 5 from now on.

Last Sunday I and my family went to this resort. I really liked their food, atmosphere and service. There Sweet and Spicy Chicken Wings are my all-time favorite .Their food menu had many types of drinks. I liked the coffee espresso from their menu. In a word, their food, environment and service are 10 out of 10.

Excellent operation. This place is run and managed to perfection. Grounds are clean staff is super friendly and helpful. Food is excellent. Plenty of parking. Facilities are excellent with lots of options. RV park coming soon. Airstrip is really perfect for a fly-in meal or stay. The hotel is beautiful

Came here for lunch- We had the Pot Roast and the steak salad with horseradish dressing. Both were excellent!! We sat in the bar area. Very nicely furnished . Service was also excellent.

Google
Room was clean and fresh. Bed and pillows were quite comfortable. Both of our breakfasts were super yummy (and we're picky about restaurant breakfasts.) I had the corned beef hash and my mate had the eggs and potatoes. Christmas decor was on par to what I've seen in upscale S.F. department stores. The staff make you feel well cared for. Location is great only in that it is a much appreciated haven at the half way point between Sacramento and Los Angeles with no other option at it's level, in an otherwise dirty, somewhat deserted landscape of dusty orchards and plastic covered farmland, with some pretty rolling hills in the distance. Wish I'd taken pictures of the lobby and boutique, they're be more impressive, for sure. Here's a couple shots of our breakfast lounge experience. So stop in, it's worth it.

We love stopping here to grab a meal and charge our cars. It’s the perfect midway point from LA to SF. The restaurant is great. The burgers or anything beef is phenomenal. The service is great. Bathrooms are so clean.

Yelp
This is more of a review from a rest stop point of view, since we didn't really eat there or stay there overnight. However, this is a great place for a rest stop. We charged my boyfriend's Tesla here since there are a couple charging stations and the bathrooms were quite clean and there were a lot of stalls. During the Christmas time, there are SO many decorations everywhere, from top to bottom from the outside area, the lobby, the side entrance, and all throughout the gift shop and hallway too. The decorations were also themed as well, with some more religious decor, pink Christmas, Mrs. Claus themed, elves themed, animals themed, and so much more. It really brought forth a feeling of Christmas wonder and magic, so if you're travelling up or down during the holiday season, this is a must stop. Additionally, the gift shop not only has neat trinkets, but also some pretty unique goods like dry mixes for soups, hot sauces, honey and jams, fresh cut deli meats, nuts, ice cream, baked goods, and so much more! You can easily kill an hour or so here if you need to charge or freshen up before hitting the road again.

Yelp
I was stoked to try Rocky Mountain oysters. They were fine but I'm wondering if these would be delicious prepared by someone else. Service was great. My daughter's tri tip dip was okay. My husband's chicken sandwich was so-so (but why order chicken at a steakhouse?). I was glad to finally try this restaurant but if you drive by the Harris Ranch feed lot, you'll wonder why you would be excited to eat the meat of those cows, living in their own filth, but I digress. All in all, I'd say that, for I-5 eateries, the Mission del Oro is far and away the best with many offerings being quite tempting. Anderson's Pea Soup is a distant distant second and Harris Ranch is right behind that. The Haris Ranch gift shop is fun, however, and they do have grab and go sandwiches, which is what I'd get next time.

Yelp
Stopped at Harris Ranch to try and repeat our previous experience. This time around was just ok, so I wanted to review what we did the previous time. Upon review, we didn't get warm bread rolls this time! That was a hit the previous time, so I'd recommend asking the server about those. Portions are massive, so I would still go with the Prime Rib with split plate charge. The charge is $9.95, but you get an additional soup and side. Kids meals are normal sized adult portions - so that's a good deal. Thought the tri-tip was reasonable. I would recommend avoiding the grilled chicken. That was way overcooked.

Carolyn F.

Yelp
While traveling I-5 on a Monday, we stopped for lunch at the Harris Ranch Restaurant. Seating and Service was quick. Everyone was happy with what they ordered: soup of the day, tri-tip sandwich, salad, fresh fruit, sweet potato fries. I enjoyed the house-made pastrami sandwich (like a panini) as it was flavorful.

Jessica E.

Yelp
This is our favorite restaurant in the way back home from LA. My favorite is the pot roast. The bread rolls are also very good. Service is faster on a weekday vs the weekend. There are chargers for electrical cars in the parking lot. There is a gift shop as well...kind of pricey. Not pictured: pot roast--I ordered the tri tip sandwich instead, which was still good

Yelp
Stopped in during a long Christmas Eve drive and were greeted by cheerful and friendly staff from the country store all the way to the main dining room. We've stopped in before, but never on a major holiday, and were pleasantly surprised by plentiful parking and quick service. It definitely feels a bit over the top (does one resort need what feels like 40 Tesla chargers and just as many gas pumps? How about 20 lit Christmas trees as you walk through the main hallway?), but it certainly makes for an entertaining stop if you have a group who have been trapped in the car along I-5 for what feels like ages. Our meal was delightful. Fully expecting only the quick service lounge to be available, our family was hoping for either the steakhouse or the main dining room to be open. We got lucky with the latter, and sat down to fresh pressed OJ, pleasant cocktails (mostly ice so I would pass in the future), and hot coffees and waters all around. The waitstaff and assistant brought us bread after we had ordered, and as soon as we finished our rolls, our meals can right out. Timing was impeccable! And the staff were excellent about checking in with us and refilling beverages as needed. Prime rib was top notch, and we loved the complement of veggies and a side of soup. Our table also shared the spinach salad with peppercorn dressing, which was refreshing. The chuckwagon soup was average (could use additional spices or something other than just salt and pepper), but the bowl is a great portion of veggies if you've been subsisting on fast food for the past few days. I had the pot roast, which was so tender and fell right apart as I forked it into smaller pieces. Honestly, I would order this again, I felt indulgent with how little I had to work for my meal. Thank you to the Harris Ranch team for a delightful Noche Buena meal, and a great break during a long drive. I do wish the water refill station was working, but no harm in hydrating via coffees for the car!

Yelp
Hey there party people, Once again I'm on the open road with hubby and we always make a point of stopping at Harris Ranch for a meal. If you happen to be in the area around the Holidays it's a must stop just to see the decorations and hit the gift shop. I had the Flank pita pistachio. It was off the hook amazing!! The basalmic glaze drizzled on the salad with the sweetness of the roasted tomatoes was a Christmas present for my taste buds. The cherry on top being the perfectly tender and seasoned flank steak that literally melts in your mouth. Hubby got the Prime Rib Eye Dip. Our waiter Ruben was on it with the perfect suggestions to elevate an already amazing sandwich to next level yumminess Harris Ranch stays on the list as a must stop so I hope you all do. Merry Christmas Happy Holidays. Be kind to one another

Sinny S.

Yelp
Restaurants: Love the meat selection. Love the ambiance. Love the menu. Staff was attentive. Serving size was plenty. Bakery: Huge disappointment. We ordered the mini strawberry pizzas and cookies. All were hard as a rock and no flavor. Strawberry pizza is a waste of $7/each. Hotel Lobby staff: Friendly.

Chrissy S.

Yelp
Came here for lunch and sat at the bar. It's kinda confusing as far as the map goes. There's a Harris bbq inside the shell station that's just stand and order but you can eat outside on nice seats, then it shows like 3 more Harris restaurants at the resort. When we sat at the bar,I asked about that and it's just different rooms and menus at night different. We had the wedge salad, rocky oysters, tri tip sandwich and the Reuben sandwich and all of it was crazy delicious! Coors lights on tap just added which was amazing! Plenty of rv parking on the other side of the gas station and just walk over like we did. Glad we stopped. Have been wanting to for decades!

Tomomi S.

Yelp
It is always a nice stop on our drive back and force on highway 5. Food is consistently good and service is always nice, swift and friendly. It is a steakhouse so do try their steaks! But salads and sandwiches are also delicious. I like it here during the holiday seasons as they do nice job decorating the inside with all shiny and bright. If the wait time is long you can order ahead (on the road) and pick up, or kill time browsing at the attached store. You can purchase all kinds of vacuum sealed freshly cut and packed Harris Ranch steaks here too.

Yelp
I have been going or stopping to this place for many many years now. This is the spot that my family and I always make a stop on the way back and forth LA and the Bay Area either for the bathroom break, get some gas or just simply getting a cup of coffee and pastries in their gift shop. During the holidays, this place is usually decorated so beautifully. Their restaurant also serves some delicious food and worth the try. Make a stop to this establishment, and you'll make it a new habit!

Kevin L.

Yelp
Had a New Year's breakfast here and got the tri-tip breakfast, with eggs, hashbrowns, and buttered toast. Don't think that the cook was done exactly right on the tri-tip. I had asked for a medium rare, but didn't seem too pink. The meat was very tender and delicious though as you get a good amount of char. Hashbrowns were also very crispy and well seasoned. Staff is attentive and comes by periodically to make sure the dining experience is going well. We ate at the more generic ranch restaurant, so not the horseshoe bar or steakhouse, but it was still a very nice experience. You definitely get a ranch feel and the resort was well decorated still with Christmas trees and lights. Overall, happy that we stopped by here. The beef is as fresh as can be, and was a nice hearty, tasty meal to have while on a long drive! Be sure to also visit the butcher shop because the new york steaks looked amazing for the price.

Paula C.

Yelp
I had heard good things about this place, so decided to stop in during a work trip. And this place lived up to its hype! We didn't have to wait at all for a table and were served right away by the friendly staff. We got the green beans as an appetizer and that was delicious! Had to get a steak of course, and the steak, carrots and everything else on my plate was cooked to perfection. You get good size servings, and had enough for leftovers the next day. The service, quality of the food and overall experience was excellent!

Melinda P.

Yelp
Harris Ranch Restaurant has redeemed themselves from the a previous visit we had a few years back. The service was very friendly and attentive. The steaks we had for breakfast were cooked just as we ordered. It was a basic seasoned with salt and pepper to let you appreciate the beef (as my husband likes it), but they accommodated my request for steak sauce on the side. Was a great breakfast stop while charging the Tesla.

Phil C.

Yelp
Harris Ranch Kitchen: My last few trips to Harris Ranch were for breakfast and lunch at the Ranch Kitchen. You can't go wrong with having a meal anytime, from breakfast through dinner. The all-day breakfast menu at Ranch Kitchen offers good variety and quick service. The menu comprises classic American dishes, emphasizing quality meats and comfort food. My favorites from the menu are the corned beef hash, tri-tip sandwich, ribeye dip sandwich, chuckwagon soup, wedge salad with blue cheese, and many more! Plenty of seating is inside, and the staff is attentive and kind. This year (2024), Harris Ranch is Celebrating 40 years of Hospitality. Amazing. My family and I have been stopping here for many years on our travels from SoCal to NorCal, and we are always looking forward to the pit stop.

Kristine Cross P.

Yelp
This place should be your 1ST STOP to gas up, get food, etc. Wow! Wow! We were so blown away in this restaurant so yummy food! It was 12 of us from a mission trip coming from San Francisco-- service was so great that our server was so attentive to our drinks and checking on us from time to time, making sure we had enough sauces, dips, condiments etc... plus she gave me a to go cup for my pomegranate lemonade so yummy! The Ambiance as you come in (because it's Christmas) everywhere you go huge Christmas trees all around with different designs. Plus they have a small shopping store with so many cool stuffs that you normally wouldn't find elsewhere! This is the best ONE STOP rest place to eat, relax, walk etc! Thank You for making our trip worthwhile

Mike S.

Yelp
I usually hate going to California unless Harris Ranch is involved. Their beef is second to none and their produce is as farm to fork as you can get! This is my version of Disneyland I've eaten three meals a day here and stayed here for weekends You can't go wrong with anything on the menu!

Lillian W.

Yelp
There are not a lot of hotels out on the lower California Central Valley stretch of Interstate 5. Harris Ranch Resort has been one of my go to's. But the last time I stayed here was about a month ago, my mother in law's (MIL) reservation was mishandled in a dismal display of customer service. My room was ok, but I stay in a standard room with no upgrades. MIL however requested a particular room and was bumped. Instead of the room with the patio in a certain area, which she reserved five months in advance, she got a room with no patio on the opposite facing view. Her reserved room was given away. She wasn't even given a comparable room, no patio nor view. She has been visiting this hotel annually for well over 20 years. Mind you, she's in her mid 80s and doesn't vacation that much anymore and was looking forward to the multiple night stay in a room she specifically booked. She was disappointed and felt unheard, marginalized. I spoke to the desk as well, they said they were fully booked and were unable to give a reason for the switch or mix up. Not even a discounted rate. Good grief! She has been visiting (multi night stays) this hotel annually for over 25 years. She was sorely disappointed. If it wasn't for the other staff (housekeeping, maintenance, bartender), the rating would be lower.

Latrice S.

Yelp
I enjoyed the dining experience with friends. The recommendation of basil vinaigrette was wonderful

Firm S.

Yelp
Wanted a steak for breakfast but was suggested the skillet which was good a little overcooked but delicious nonetheless. Coffee was on point. The service was excellent the servers were on it and any requests got fulfilled. The place is huge and the restrooms sit on the opposite wing. I highly recommend this place for any steak lovers. It is under construction in the adjacent building at the moment. Give it a try.

Ed S.

Yelp
Harris Ranch Resort is located at the I-5 & 198, Coaling CA-has 2 Restaurants, an Express BBQ, private plane landing strip, Tesla Chargers, hydrogen and standard fueling station, and a fabulous hotel. I have stayed overnight in the past and never had a bad experience with food or lodging. Their hotel pool is awesome! Today I ate in the family restaurant and had a 14 oz Ribeye steak with coffee sage rub, 2 Eggs, fresh cut fruit, and fresh squeezed orange juice. The steak was tender and flavorful. The eggs were perfect and the rye toast was excellent. The entire restaurant, restrooms and all interior walkways were very clean, as employees constantly cleaned. The ambience of the family restaurant was welcoming and nicely decorated. There is a higher end restaurant primarily for adults, which I have not tried but my son says it's phenominable. Service everywhere was first rate! Harris Ranch is no longer in the cattle business, as this was sold off in 2019. However, they still serve great beef. If you need to take a break and relax, Harris Ranch is the place to go!

Glenn M.

Yelp
Awesome place!! Had dinner here last night with my lovely daughter on the way back from college. This place used to so awesome! The food is super delicious! Daughter had the wedge salad and then Whiskey River Ribeye steak. This steak was soooo tender and very delicious! It was cooked perfectly and seasoned just right! She loved every bite of it! It was her first steak in a long time and she said it was delicious!! I had the side salad with ranch and the chicken fried steak. It's was very delicious as well! Crispy coated perfectly seasoned gravy covered piece of heaven! Super yummy! For dessert we had the almond bread pudding and it was wonderful! Almond covered custardly flavored bread pudding. So delicious! Service as usual was spot on! Super nice servers and seaters! The ambiance is perfect too! Feels like you are at a Ranch House for sure! Please see the pictures and let your eyes do the feasting!

Ana A.

Yelp
The service was excellent at this restaurant. I came from out of town to celebrate a birthday & they made it special! The ambiance was like your in a Ralph Lauren home - well at least that's what my view was -The food was great! delicious from start to end! I would recommend this restaurant! This restaurant is located inside of a resort style hotel - with great full bar and also small shop inside as well.

Monique G.

Yelp
I understand it's Valentines Day, but there are less than 10 tables per server. We ordered as soon as we arrived and 2+ hours later I only had a small salad and a potato. My husband received his full meal. I inquired about my Ribeye and was given a sirloin which they said was an end piece( dry, overcooked and not a ribeye) They offered a free dessert. So we ate separately, and left unhappy. The manager didn't give a hoot. This must happen all of the time This used to be a favorite restaurant, but not anymore. All it would have took was honesty about the mistake and wrong steak.

Susan H.

Yelp
We love stopping here on road trips. It's located at a great spot for us to get a good stretch break and enjoy a meal that's not fast food. Their steak and prime rib are always solid, this visit I felt the meat was better quality than my last visit. When you come with kids, they get crayons and a paper with some activities to keep them busy. Bread comes out right after you place your order. I love their seasonal vegetables, this time our meal came with carrots and broccoli. I had great cherry tomatoes and pistachios in this trip too.

Kayla R.

Yelp
Bring back the whiskey smoked salt & brown sugar ribeye :( it was the literal reason why we stop at Harris Ranch. Upsetting to see it get taken off.

Kristen P.

Yelp
I cannot say enough about my enjoyable weekend at Harris Ranch. After driving past it on 5 a million times on the way to Disneyland, we decided to make a weekend of it. The rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable. The service at the hotel and the restaurants was amazing and the food was great. Definitely go to the bakery in the little store! The pool is beautiful and large with two hot tubs and a pool bar. There are plenty of chairs, tables and umbrellas. We had a fun weekend and I highly recommend!

Zac F.

Yelp
This place has excellent food and top notch service! Great atmosphere all around and excellent selection of food and spirits. A special shout out to manager Maria B for handling a challenge with extreme professionalism. You and your staff are what make the difference about Harris Ranch Resort. Thank you

Angela K.

Yelp
Expensive for what it is. Steak was only average but it charges a premium. I think it's definitely worth a visit given the ambiance and the store front. But you won't likely go back again unless you really need steak along the i5.

Tina C.

Yelp
As California's largest beef producer and a popular halfway stop between San Francisco and Los Angeles, Harris Ranch offers an inn, two restaurants, lounge, country store, express BBQ stop, and Tesla supercharger station. While the staff at Ranch Kitchen is great, the food left something to be desired. The chicken fried steak came out tough, old-tasting, and barely breaded, much less crispy. ROOKIE TIP: as the California cattle capitol, Coalinga smells overwhelmingly of cow. Be prepared lol.

Libbie K.

Yelp
A fun and historic spot to visit and eat . It is almost too big to describe... .gift shops, restaurants, hotel.... EV charging stations etc . Had another awesome meal here on Christmas Day. I liked their own wine so much i bought a couple bottles to take home too ;-)

Binh T.

Yelp
Flew in to get this $60 steak. Service was quick, and always friendly. I would definitely share this giant plate next time with my friends. We also got the $25 ( 2 piece crab cake). It was super fresh, and everything was delicious. I took most of the steak and fries home. The giant salad alone was fulfilling enough.

Martin T.

Yelp
I've Heard alot of good reviews about the HR steak, atmosphere, and good service. That was all there, no complaints well almost. Sure we were a party of 18 and they handled us very well. Water was poured, drink orders taken and served. Really good Parker house Rolls and whipped butter. It was all there...kinda. I'm the "foodguy" and my expectations were greater than what was delivered. $25 for Prime Rib dip sandwich, again the bread was great in fact it was too much bread because the first thing I thought was "wheres the beef" Okay ya got a cattle ranch up the highway, your middle name is "Beef" so prove it....I kid you not there was a light four ounces of meat on the bread. This beef was cut from yesterdays left over rib roasts and left to soak in Au Jus since this morning and there wasn't enough beef there to complain about. What a huge disappointment, a friggin joke. Thats all I have to say 'bout that Foodguy-martin

Kristina P.

Yelp
We've never stayed at the resort, but the restaurant (the one all the way at the end) is our favorite stop when we are driving home from LA! I don't think we've ever really hit it at a time where it was super busy, but service has always been great. Super friendly, and the food comes out quickly, hot and delicious! My family -- including the kiddos, love the ribeye. The potatoes and veggies are so comforting and it's just overall an amazing meal and experience. There's also little shops in the building that are so cute and charming.

Todd B.

Yelp
I've been there about five times and the food is amazing every time. The last two times I've been waited on by Larry Rocha and his service and hospitality is top notch!

Cal F.

Yelp
Remember those ads for places like theme parks or restaurants that say "we have something for the whole family!" After staying at Harris Ranch with 2 kids, I can confirm that this place really does have something for the whole family. Let me tell you about it: Mom (aka my wife) - the resort has a general store and a bakery, which comes in handy providing breakfast and dessert for the boys. They also had milk, which was good for our youngest. The Ranch Kitchen restaurant (the more family-friendly option, as opposed to their fancy steakhouse for adults) had a good kids menu with good food and crayons - and kept the toddlers engaged through both of the meals we ate there. All of that equates to a win in her book. Toddlers - the bakery was the biggest hit with them. They got to choose their own dessert (cookies and an assortment of chocolates) and breakfast the next morning (pastries). The hotel room was spacious with plenty of room to run, and also had a TV that connected to Netflix - good for keeping them entertained while their dad did some work. Seeing thousands of cows from the car as we drove away was an added bonus for them. Dad (aka me) - the Ranch Kitchen restaurant does have steaks on the menu, and they had a 14 oz. USDA Prime ribeye. That's all I needed. --- In short, if we make the long drive down I-5 again, we'll be sure to stop and stay at Harris Ranch for a bit. Because unlike fake commercials that just try to bait you, this place really does have something for the whole family.

Yelp
Review on the Ranch Kitchen: The steak is a must try!!! This place was on my bucket list for a while. Now it's on my always go-to list when I get the chance. My friend kept raving about this place since the steak is always served fresh and said it tasted way better than other restaurants and steak bought from the market. They start you off with 1 complimentary basket of their bread, which was so delicious. I had to get more. They served us 4 rolls with their fluffy butter for $2.99. I tried the 24 oz choice cowboy-cut ribeye steak cooked medium rare and the liver and onions. After a couple of bites, I was ful (because I ate so much bread). I loved the steak so much that I wanted to already plan my next trip back. The latter was good but pungent. It would taste better if there were more onions on the liver to cover the taste. I wouldn't recommend this plate for those who aren't used to eating liver. I still enjoyed it and had leftovers since the portions were decent in size. Overall, I paid $100 for the food, and I was happy with the service. The venue had an old country-like feel to it, which i liked. The place was busy, but the staff sat us down pretty quickly. There was plenty of parking. You can charge your EV car here if you have one, and there's RV overnight parking.

Jacqueline T.

Yelp
This place is nostalgic for me. I have had many road trips from Southern California to Northern California and back and forth with many stops here. The resort is a stunning hacienda style building with plenty of rooms to stay overnight after a long drive. They have a restaurant, bar and steakhouse, and a BBQ Express. The food portions are generous so if you choose to split the plates there's a fee or you can just ask for a plate and do it yourself. There are known for their steaks and it's quite pricey, but again you are getting their premium quality cuts. You can find yourself eating homemade bread and baked goods. Just make some tummy room for it.

Ron S.

Yelp
My wife and I stopped by for lunch at noon and was seated in the restaurant ordered coffee and lunch and immediately heard what sounded like jackhammers and drills construction work going on around us! Then we asked to be seated elsewhere to escape the noisey restaurant and were seated in the bar area, where there was a large gathering of men and an adjoining table discussing loudly amongst themselves. Asked the waiter to seat us someplace that might be quiet, which he did not have. My wife and I eat at Harris Ranch about 10 times a year and have never had such poor service.I told the waiter that it was way to loud to enjoy a quiet lunch and he said to just pay for the coffee and they would cancel the order????? So I paid over $10 for coffee in a loud restaurant and wasted my time stopping at Harris Ranch!! I would recommend people to not stop at Harris Ranch while they are doing construction, the waiter said it was going to loud for a long time----too bad!!

Patty A R.

Yelp
Large portions!! You'll need a box to go food was good. Potatoes are excellent and there are a few sweet potatoes mixed in yum service by Ricky was great. I wish they had some other coffee creamer options - half and half only :/ Plenty of parking and a TON of Tesla chargers everywhere! Would definitely recommend stopping to grab a bite and check out the general store also!

Daniella P.

Yelp
My family and I always come here on our way to Norcal. It's a perfect halfway point for us to rest and relax. We always have to come to their restaurant and try the amazing fresh beef they have. I always get the French Dip Fettuccine which has shaved Prime Rib and hits the spot each time. I also like how they allow dogs in the hotel rooms as well. Love this place!

Negin D.

Yelp
Where do I start? I love love love this place. The staff are absolutely amazing, they're always super professional, polite, and welcoming. The food is beyond delicious. I've been going to Harris ranch for years and quality of the service, food, ambience stayed great. I wish I had pictures from their steaks, whenever I order those I get excited and forget to take pics lol

We have been to Harris Ranch few times before 2021-2022 and during summer season. This time around we went there on our way to Lake Tahoe. Since the summer season has ended for them they closed out the outdoor sitting area which had a very pleasant ambiance. We had to be sitter inside which has a very cute ranch style decor. In the past experiences I don't recall being disappointed but this time around I was extremely disappointed. Although they have great meat/steaks but their cook did a terrible job. I don't recall any time that I would not want to finish my steak. We ordered medium rare but what came was really rare and there was lot of Gristels in the meat. The veggies and potatoe were ok and average. Liked their seasonal salad, fresh bread and butter, and also the Calamari. As for service, I would say it was very average but it might be because the previous owner of the Ranch was sitting behind us with a group of 5 people so they got the most attention. All together, I would not want to go back even though this was one of the places I look forward to stopping by on our car travels.

Yelp
Heading to or from the Bay Area? Follow the 10,000 Teslas to Harris Ranch, home to the fast chargers halfway between LA and SF. And until California outlaws the pumps, you can still get gas too. While there, have lunch! You cannot go wrong. There are three restaurants and the menus are similar. One (Horseshoe Lounge) is a clubby bar. The fanciest, Prime Steakhouse, is big booths and dressier. The third, which I like, is casual dining at Ranch Kitchen; there is almost never a wait. Burger and fries, anyone? Yes. And the burger itself is Harris Ranch raised. I try not to think about it. Servers here know their clientele are, for the most part, weary travelers. Friendly and fast service with to-go containers at the ready. Harris Ranch beef is known all over (free range, no additives). Until recently you could see the cows themselves right down the lane, but they've since been moved to the Central Valley. There's also a market and a store (see my review of those). Harris Ranch is a destination!

Yelp
Have been to this spot a couple of times and appreciate it more and more each time. We have tasted through the majority of the menu and each was cooked to order quite accurately. We have only dined in the more casual sitting area for lunch and breakfast, so in futute we probably will find time to make it to dinner. All I know is that you should come prepared to eat since the portions are huge. Each time we went seating was quick and easy and the bar boasts a nice backbar with some allocated options for whiskey. It's pretty chill and mellow and service was pretty quick and easy. Most people that came in were just hanging out and eating so there wasn't any super loud music or voices interfering with the ambiance. They also have the express store section where you can go and buy items to go--a bakery that does cakes and other sweets in addition to frozen sorbet, a wine store and they also sell their packaged meats. The parking is ample with plenty of spots for EV charging. We also saw a coming soon to an RV park. They do have a hotel onsite, but I have yet to experience this place. A bit on the pricey side, but well worth the $$ for this caliber and quality of meat, and a nice little side trip.

Yelp
In short, overpriced and underwhelming. We asked for potatoes to crispy. They were not. My 5 dollar cup of coffee was not worth it. My wife's tomato's were underripe. My omelette was supposed to have chorizo. I don't know what it was but it was NOT chorizo. And it was all overpriced.

Yelp
On a drive from Southern California to San Francisco we stopped in Coalinga at Harris Ranch, an oasis on Highway 5. Our visit started with the pleasant hostess greeting us and seating us in a lovely booth. Our waiter was attentive, delivered waters and place settings within minutes. We started with the Battered Green Beans for an appetizer, fresh green beans not overly battered were delicious. I ordered the Petit Cut of Prime Rib cooked perfectly to my taste, accompanied by a green salad. My friend raved about the Tri Tip Sandwich with Sweet Potato Fries. There's a store with a large selection of gift items, a butcher counter and a bakery counter that's hard to resist. A MUST when on Highway 5, there are other menu options if beef isn't your choice.

Yelp
We stopped twice at Harris' for both a lunch meal and a breakfast meal. Friendly service and our meals were pretty good. We liked what we ordered, although wish the coffee tasted stronger! Always a nice stroll their gift shop to check out their butcher counter, all the baked goods, and their chocolate counter. Prices in the gift shop were a little too expensive for us, but glad we had nice meals. Worth the stop.

Yelp
On our way up I-5, my boyfriend and I stopped by Harris Ranch for lunch. Be warned, there are two restaurants, a bar, a deli counter, and burger stand that are all on the same site! You'll have plenty of options but we had a tricky time navigating which location served what. Wanting a break from our drive, we chose the sit-down restaurant past the bar and steakhouse. We were quickly seated in a booth. To start, we ordered fried green tomatoes, which came with buttermilk ranch and some greens. My boyfriend ordered a tri tip sandwich with sweet potato fries. He said the meat was fresh, tender, and tasty. I ordered the pot roast, which included mashed potatoes, vegetables, and a roll. It was so flavorful and made for excellent leftovers! Definitely a great spot for our future road trips!
