Floridians Love Publix So Much There’s Now a Musical About The Supermarket Chain | Eater Miami

"Led by principal Daryl Ward, Lakeland’s Harrison School of the Arts produced the 30-minute musical 'When You Dream': Ward wrote the script and five original songs, and the show debuted January 26 with an encore performance slated for April 7 during the school's Red Carpet Gala, according to Instagram." - Olee Fowler

The Visual Art teachers are the worst teachers. Bullying your students is crazy to me. The blatant disrespect they have for the students blows my mind. Nevermind they don't teach anything in the first place, they pick on the students about their work until they cry. Never telling the due dates then getting mad when it's not done when they want it done. I have never been more disappointed in a school. None of the students like the VA teachers. It's pathetic. I hope next year they will change but I know a lot of students will be leaving this school aftee this year. I have tried to get in contact with the admin and have had no luck. It's a shame because the arts are getting cut all over the US. You'd think they would try to do better for funding. All I know is that my family is done.

This school is amazing! My time as a creative writing student has been great so far. Amazing teachers, supportive and friendly administration, and the fact that you get to choose what to apply for, all make this school perfect if you're looking to pursue an education in the arts. Not to mention they provide free transportation if you live in polk county. Be warned that lakeland high, the school we share campus with is kind of eh... but this school easily makes up for it. Amazing art, amazing theatre, amazing school.

We were impressed, just walking into the building--the artistry of students on display! The Black Box was our destination, for readings by Creative Writing students from their works published in their Literary Magazine. Excellent!

The acting principal is very unprofessional, he has no business being a principal at any school judging from my experience at that school by him today. I would recommend taking a close look before sending my child there. I was fine with the old principal before but this new one, no way.

I absolutely LOVED my experience at Harrison School for the Arts. I was a choral music major and loved being in an environment that encouraged me to pursue and fine tune my passion. I received a great education, made life long friendships, and was all the more prepared for college level courses.

Instrumental music alumni class of 1993. First full graduating class freshman 1989 to senior grad 1993. Along with Lakeland Senior High School academics, I received a top-notch education and high school was a wonderful experience.
