Stopped by Harry Caray’s Tavern on Navy Pier before our evening at the Chicago Shakespeare Theater, and I’m so glad we did! The service was incredibly fast. Our drinks and meals were on the table in no time, even with a full house. The food was beyond expectations. I tried the Holy Cow Burger (lives up to the name!), Chicken Parm (huge portion) the spinach artichoke dip, and a blackberry mule that hit the spot. Everyone at our table loved their dishes, and the portion sizes were generous without sacrificing quality. The atmosphere is upbeat and fun! Perfect mix of classic Chicago sports bar energy with great views of the lake. You can tell this spot takes pride in both the food and the guest experience. Highly recommend Harry Caray’s if you want a delicious, no-stress meal right on Navy Pier! Highly recommend!!

If you’re visiting Navy Pier in Chicago, there’s no shortage of spots to eat and drink, but Harry Caray’s Tavern is definitely one that stands out. We chose it because it’s so highly recommended, and it absolutely lived up to the hype. The location itself is perfect—right on the pier, with both indoor and outdoor seating. On a nice day, the outdoor patio and bar are incredible, giving you great views and a lively atmosphere, but the inside is just as enjoyable. The interior is filled with comfortable seating, warm vibes, and walls covered with photos of big Hollywood and sports celebrities who have visited. There are even signed baseball bats and balls on display, which adds to the fun, Chicago-style sports atmosphere. As for the food, we tried the Jalapeño Burger, Caramelized Bacon Burger, and a Meatball Sub. The burgers were absolutely delicious—juicy, flavorful, and cooked just right. The meatball sub was a little on the dry side, but still enjoyable overall. The drinks and service tied everything together, with staff that was attentive and friendly. It’s the kind of place where you can relax, soak in the pier’s energy, and enjoy hearty food in a fun, iconic Chicago setting. The burger is really good and worth ordering, and the spinach artichoke dip is good too! Service was just okay, but the atmosphere and location is pretty good. For the price and atmosphere, this restaurant is not bad.

Overpriced and food needs some work. A hotdog meal should not run over $15, when it's nothing more than street food. The hotdog was ok overall but the onion rings were not crisp enough, almost like they were not fresh or just not left in the fryer quite long enough. Wife had a bacon burger off the menu and said it was really good... so, that's good. Beer/drink prices were ridiculous at $8 for a small beer... and wasn't cold!!! Sad, they are named after such a Chicago Icon, because they FAILED his name and legacy. Try harder... we won't be back though

First time dining at Harry Caray! Loved the atmosphere and the food was delicious! I got the fish and chips and the dipping sauce on the side was excellent! Service was friendly and fast! Will be back again!

Tuesday afternoon, nary a soul in sight. We traversed the walks and shops of the mall, then hungry for a bite. The staff was warm and prompt. The food portions were generous and very delicious. A couple of t-shirt souvenirs in tow, we left satisfied and checked off another bucket list Chicago destination.

Good for a quick bite in Navy Pier. The selection of food is not great for someone like myself that is picky. I ordered a Paloma drink and Fish and chips, it was good. Our waiter was nice and attentive to the best of his abilities as he was serving tables and the walk up bar. The atmosphere was nice with good people watching.

After walking 6.5 miles from Grant Park to the Navy Pier, finding this restaurant was like finding an oasis. On a warm Friday afternoon in September, sitting outside here with a cold Goose Island was perfect! Since we were visiting from NJ, my wife and I wanted to try the Chicago hot dogs. The foot longs here were fantastic! I ordered mine with Onion rings which were also very good. Inside the place is very cool with so many photos of celebrities everywhere. Fun place to stop if you're at the Navy Pier!

Crystal was our server. She was friendly and attentive. Reservation are recommended but walk ins are welcome. Patio dining and inside restaurant is very spacious. Memorabilia and pictures are scattered throughout the building. Walk up bar in patio section very busy. Scenery on patio is great for people watching, water views, and live music. I ordered for a drink a frozen Chicago vice half colada/ half strawberry daiquiri. Delicious and sweet. Hamburger and fries. Bun was so fresh and soft , Meal cooked fresh and hot to order.

This review is for service at the bar only. Was visiting Chicago and had walked about 2 miles when I needed water and some NFL Sunday football and beer. :) I found Harry Caray's at Navy Pier on Yelp so headed over. I arrived at the bar and was promptly greeted by a friendly bartender bringing water. I was then told their FOX channel was not working. What? So, off I went to another sports bar so I could catch my home team. Bar staff very friendly and kind to let me just sit and enjoy some water on a hot day.

Harry Caray's Tavern was was one of many stops while visiting Chicago. Although it looked crowded my party was able to walk right up without a reservation and get a choice of inside or patio seating, we chose outside to people watch and listen to a live band that was at the Navy Pier for the evening. The patio was well lit even as the sun went down so we were still able to enjoy our meal as the night fell. I ordered the fettucine Alfredo and it came with a piece of garlic bread, I loved the fettucine but the bread for me was dynamite.

Very nice outdoor seating right on the water at Navy Pier! The food was normal bar food but absolutely delicious. The people were nice and attentive and we really enjoyed our lunch here!!

Obviously you don't go for the food, it's the atmosphere and the Baseball nostalgia...The food doesn't suck, but it's pretty pedestrian...they get the 4 stars for service and atmosphere, the food would be less. As long as they keep good people working, and the booze flowing...they'll be fine!

While there is a nice view if you sit outside and I was seated pretty quickly and the food was made rather quickly, the food wasn't good at all. I felt like I was eating a high priced fast food burger except I'd argue the burger was worse than most fast food burgers I've tried. The patty was obviously a frozen patty, but it also didn't have flavor. I was disappointed to say the least.

Great outside bar. Fast service and friendly bartenders. Loved my raspberry lemon drop martini. Fried raviolis were very good and so was the coconut shrimp.

Place was busy it was a Saturday evening Labor Day weekend. We put our name on list and waited. We were seated on time. The place was lively lots of sports memorabilia. Servers were great. Very friendly and attentive. Always checking to make sure everything was great. Food was delish as well had steak sandwich with onion rings. Husband had fish and chips as well as The famous Hotdog Chicago is known for. Bathrooms were clean as well. Loved this place will definitely be back next time we visit Chicago !

I like to come here before attending a play at the Chicago Shakespeare Theater. The service at the bar was attentive. I tried the blueberry cider which was too sweet for me. The spinach artichoke dip had too much spinach that got caught in my teeth. Maybe it would have been better if chopped up more or less of it and more dip. The foot long hot dog came with a dill pickle and fries. The bun had sesame seeds which I could have done without. It is a good location so I will continue to come back and try different items on the menu.

Came here just for dessert after a few drinks at the roof top bar. Wanted a little razzle dazzle so ordered the brownie sundae. It came with a full display of a chocolate baseball and a bat we got to take home. The brownie was okay, nothing to brag about. Very sweet dish but would not order it again. It was very busy when we went so we had to search for our waiter at the end to pay the bill. Place inside def gives full Chicago vibes. Probably wouldn't come back for food, was viewing other tables plates and they looked very average. More of a tourist restaurant, but glad i finally got to experience it after all these years.

Chicago Hot Dog - 5 Stars We came to Navy Pier for a boat tour later in the day. Since we were early we came to the tavern for Chicago Hot Dog before our tour. The Chicago Hot Dog was excellent. When we told the waitress we just wanted Hot Dogs you could tell she was not happy that we were not there to spend more money.

This location went downhill. We went there probably a decade ago or more. They had a pretty good menu. Now it's just bar food: burgers, salads, a few pasta dishes. What a disappointment. I struggled to find something on the menu I wanted to eat. Service was good but it was midweek, pre-summer, on a rainy day so I am not sure how the service would hold up on a busy, summer weekend day.

We were on our way to the parking garage and decided to stop here, with no idea of what it was. It's a sports fan's dream place! Every wall and shelf is crammed with amazing photos and sports memorabilia, and well as memorabilia from the careers of famous people from Chicago. It's like a huge sports museum. Just amazing. The food was good too. I had the foot long Chicago dog which was very good, and friend said soup was good. The hostess and server both were fine, but neither ever smiled or was friendly. Service was okay. Overall, the amazing sports collection makes this a must stop for any sports fan!

Perfect local to sit outside on a beautiful spring day! Glasses of wine and tasty appetizers = delightful. Service was great and we were seated fairly quickly! Also had the spinach & artichoke dip but the 1st time it came out the server unfortunately dumped all the chips down one me ... thank heavens not tte steaming dip! All apps were as expected and the wine was cold ... can't ask for more while sitting out people watching

Very unprofessional and not worth it. We were sat down and had to wait at least 15 minutes for just water. Maybe 25 minutes later, a table of 5 was sat next to my party of 5 as well. They were all served burgers and food before us while my table had to wait more than 40 minutes for only salads. Once we asked them about our food they brought it out about 10 minutes later. It is without a doubt they forgot about my table and during this time our server did not pay notice at all. For your own sake, please do not wait and waste your time at this place, the food really isn't even good. Speaking on the food, the chicken is extremely dry and the salads are just mediocre. Nothing special. You should come here if you want to waste your time and money.

Pretty decent place to eat at the Pier. Our waiter worked his butt off managing bar tabs and tables outside and was very friendly and offered suggestions on our selections and questions. Food took awhile to come but it was a holiday weekend and tons of people. We had a very little wait getting in too. It's a big place and lots of room but may lack in number of servers. Food was great in my opinion. We had calamari as an appetizer, I had a grilled chicken salad with vinegarette and it was fresh and good flavor dressing. Hubby had a steak sandwich and it was overcooked and dry. A bit of a disappointment but he ate it all. Our kiddos enjoyed their food as well. Drinks were pricey but made well and beer was cold. I'd go here again and recommend. Just have to be patient with the service.

Amazing restaurant ambiance. The Chicago Style Dog was terrible. Tried it twice to be sure I wasn't missing something. The bun was stale and hard both times. What gives?!?

Nothing really exceptional here. Tried the footlong Chicago style dog (my first outside Wrigley Field) and it was OK, but nothing to get excited about. Service was friendly, if a little inept, and the ambience was typical nostalgic sports bar. All in all, nothing to write home about either way.

Service was terrible. Fried pickles and cheese curds were brought out 25 mins after ordered cold and under-fried. Wouldn't recommend other than to have a drink and check it out.

The family and I stopped by Harry Caray's Tavern on 20 June 2024. We showed up about 1:30 pm and were immediately seated at a booth. Being a cubs fan I enjoyed looking at all the photos and Chicago sports memorabilia on the walls. The outside was busier than the inside so we chose to eat inside. Our server Ryan was awesome, he was very engaging. Overall a great experience.

Nice spot on Navy Pier with both indoor and outdoor seating. Good tavern menu with options for adults and kids. Fun seasonal adult drink menu along with the year long standards. Our server was very attentive and friendly, we appreciated her checking on us after our food arrived. The only negative from us was the manager on duty - I think her name was Nadia. We were originally escorted to a table in a room directly adjacent to the outdoor eating area and the doors were all open and it was muggy and humid, which was not the vibe we were looking for on a hot summer day in Chicago. We asked to be seated in an area closer to the front of the interior portion where it was noticeably cooler. Nadia, the MOD, refused and told us we had to take the seat we were given, even though there were easily 5 empty tables (plus one that Nadia was using as a workstation as her laptop and belongings were there. We declined the table and left. But then decided no, that wasn't acceptable so we went back and it was a different person at the host stand so we asked again for a table and asked for it to be in the area we preferred. We were seated and had a lovely lunch in a pleasant climate. Shame on Nadia for not trying to be accommodating.

Perfect place on Navy Pier to stop in for a casual lunch (especially if you're a sports fan!) Our waiter Terry, I believe his name was, was new and training, but was phenomenal, refilling our drinks in time, making sure our meals were brought out in a timely manner. He was great. The food was also great. It's nothing fancy, but it still was amazing! The memorabilia throughout the restaurant is phenomenal - it's like a museum! Highly recommend taking a walk around the restaurant to look at all of the mesmerizing sports history when you're done with your meal. I will be coming back next time I visit Chicago.

Stumbled upon this tavern while walking the pier. Looked inviting and a great place to grab a bite outside and people watch. Service was good and the food was fine but nothing special. I had the fish and chips and my friend had the Chicago hotdog. I would visit again and just have the beer and hang out to be outside. Cheers and here's to more sunny days!

Harry Caray's Navy Pier is at a great location on Navy Pier. It makes for a great outdoor dining space where you can people watch to your hearts content. Unfortunately, the food doesn't quite match. I had the Mac 'N Cheese burger which disappointed. The burger itself was lacking flavor and everything meshes together without any distinct flavor elements. Also, the bacon and beef were both overcooked with sapped them of flavor.

Looking for something quick, appetizers and cold drinks stopped at the hostess and asked to sit inside. She states if you are only having appetizers and drinks you have to sit outside or at the bar inside. I told her we did not want outside and do not want to sit at the bar. They grabbed menus took us inside to one of the very back rooms the place was empty, it was 11:15am. The waiter took our order brought our appetizers and drinks and then disappeared for a super long time we had to go find him, no refills on water, tea, drinks. The food was Eh' for the trouble they gave us trying to sit down I would have expected more. Really disappointed, the bill was 60.00 for 2 small appetizers a tea and a margarita. Wow if we are not paying for the name in this place.

We came down to Navy Pier to walk around for a little bit and decided to check out Harry Carays Tavern. I've been to their Italian Steakhouse, but have never been to the tavern. We arrived early enough to not have to wait. The weather was great for their outdoor patio. Their service was friendly and prompt as well. We ordered their Cheese Curds, Poutine and Chicken Wings. The wings were good, the cheese curds were served with a sriracha ranch drip. These were really good. The curds were perfectly lightly fried and the portioning was huge. The biggest surprise was their poutine. You don't get just fries, gravy and curds here, they also top it off with smoked pulled pork, and Harry's Hot & Spicy BBQ sauce. The dish was quite impressive. The heat from the sauce was just perfect. Overall I was really satisfied with the tavern. As we were leaving, we noticed a lot of people waiting to get a seat. Wait times were about 30 minutes. Will definitely consider returning here.

Harry Caray's has an abundance of seating, which was great for my hangry family :) We ordered their fried pickles and chicken tenders as appetizers, frosé and peach mocktail for drinks, and pulled pork sandwich and poutine for our main meals. I've never had fried pickles before, so I'm not sure if they're regularly extremely salty but these were insane. I love salt but these might have well been salt chips. The chicken bites and pulled pork were more enjoyable. The restaurant was decently crowded when we were eating. Our server was super sweet, but it did take a while to get our drinks and utensils. I saw other tables ask feeling frustrated with the wait time, but when are you not going to have to wait at Navy Pier :).

Great socializing atmosphere. Staff was thorough and observant. Food was delicious. My family of six devoured all our meals.

The Foot Long Chicago hot dog was very tasty. I had a taste of the beef brisket sandwich which also tasty. The Strawberry lemonade was refreshing. Of course, the ambiance is amazing with many good memories of this famous person amongst his many friends that we recognize.

We had a group of 4 come on a Saturday night. The waiter waited a long time before taking our order. He brought out everyone's drinks but mine- it came 10 minutes later. Them two of the dinners gir brought out- the other two were 30 minutes later! I ordered the steak sandwich and it was so overcooked and dry (so was my friends). One person ordered Jalapeno cheeseburger and it was missing the cheese and the salad dressing wasn't correct. On person ordered the salad as their side and fit fries instead but still charged for the salad. We asked for the bill to be split and this took another 10 minutes. I would not recommend this place at all- bad food and service.

We went for the curling court. Good thing we didn't have very high expectations. We had a one hour reservation and we were very aware of the time limit, but if we hadn't have known, it's okay because the staff reminded us no less than 100 times. Oh, but that was the last time the staff could be bothered to check on us. We waited a very long time to order...did a round of drinks and about 4 very mediocre appetizers to share. Server came to take order, deliver food and drop the bill, nothing more. Luckily there was auto gratuity so it's not like anyone needed to exert any additional energy. For the one hour of janky curling (no ice on the board, just a plastic surface surrounded by 2x4s). 4 cocktails, 2 hot chocolates, tater tots, spinach dip, and two others I don't even remember our bill was over $200. It was a one and done for us.

This tavern on the Pier was certainly giving sports themed because of who it is named after. The staff were polite and efficient. Out waitress Gabby was really attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. The atmosphere is casual and has a bar that seemed energetic. The food was not up to par with the atmosphere to me. The fish was not seasoned and even with petting fresh squeezed lemon juice on it, that still didn't help. The fettuccine was really bland, but it was at least not stiff and dry. The burger, on the other was slightly dry. The fries were delicious though...!!

I ate at Harry Caray's this afternoon and I was really disappointed. This used to be a good restaurant with a full menu but no more. Now it's just burgers and hotdogs. I ordered two cocktails, paid about $30 and didn't feel a thing. I won't be going back.

I come here semi-frequently because I love going to the Chicago Shakespeare Theater and dining options at Navy Pier are slim pickings, to say the least. At Harry Caray's, I can at least get a decent glass of sauvignon blanc, but that is about it. Food-wise, I have enjoyed the hummus platter: very basic but edible. Unfortunately, everything else I've tried, most recently the fried chicken sandwich, is mediocre at best. Service is friendly, but this place is always understaffed and as a result, it often takes forever to flag down someone for another drink or to bring the check. I wish this place offered a broader menu like it used to, and that it would realize it has an insanely awesome opportunity to class up the dining experience at the pier for theatergoers who are desperately in search of a decent dinner and willing to pay more.

Meh. Great location, but the food was barely ok. Outside seating was stellar. I'd get a drink and skip the food. Hummus platter was flavorless, grilled pita very good, but hummus was pasty and lacked any flavor.

The waiter was very behind and messed up our order, but the staff member delivering the food to the tables was quick to remedy the situation. The drinks were great, and the spicy sauce with the cheese curds was a great pairing. The burgers were over cooked and dry, the fries were cooked nicely but not seasoned, the fish was fried perfectly but had zero seasoning, the tartor sauce had no flavor the slaw was very basic and had no seasoning. This place has great memorabilia to look at and is a must see for baseball fans but, the food is not the best and the service was lacking.

There are a lot options around Navy Pier and I have to say I wish we would have tried a different one. The baseball and sports decor inside is cool. But that's about all we got. Our server wasn't the most helpful or nice. I even showed her a picture of the beer I wanted and she still scolded me because they have a lot of beers. When we left we asked about a restroom and got lectured again about customers only. We were eating outside and the employee inside wasn't about to point strangers to the restroom. We explained we had eaten outside and started a produce a receipt and she finally showed us the directions. The boneless wings were good. That's not exactly a culinary victory, but they were tasty. I'll give credit there. The fries would have been better off without the poutine. They were great alone, but the poutine just didn't hit. It had a lot of pulled pork and a little gravy. It just tasted heavy and somewhat bland.

Customer service was very sweet however not use to the 20 percent gratuity charge for parties for 2 especially at a tavern. Understandable the server stated it was because we were on the navy pier but 93 dollars for 1 entree 2 drinks and 2 starter appetizers would of been around 60 bucks turned into 93+. The food to me was not worth the 93 dinner, Alfredo was ok, toasted ravioli and tomato bisque was good but none of it was anything crazy and thats all we ordered. Crazy to think 93 over that but it's ok, again we are not from IL we are from Cali so we are aware things are different. We are major foodies and will pay a pretty penny for food thats worth it, unfortunately this wasn't. However the customer service was good.

Amazing place for the summer as their menu changes over season, if you want some good barbecue it's best to go. Service can be a bit slow but that is common in the city, as they will not having you starving. Overall I ofrecer going in the summer over the winter season.

When I asked about the wait, the hostess said it wasn't long because they weren't busy. We got seated right away but the table we were brought to wasn't even clean when the hostess walked us over there. The hostess barely wiped the table at that moment and I had to wipe it more afterwards. After we ordered, we waited over 40 minutes for our food. People seated after us got their food before us and the waiters didn't check in with us once. They only came over after we called them over to ask about our food and then the food came out some time after. We were considering walking out but we didn't want to be charged for the food. They told us it was because they were busy but we got our food near closing time and we were seated near the entrance so we definitely saw that it couldn't have been that busy considering not a lot of people were seated after us (but that is just my personal opinion). Our table of 5 got salads but the mixed greens weren't fresh and the grilled chicken we added was dry and not warm. After a long day of shopping, this was NOT the place to go for dinner.

Fun place, especially for the sports fan. Food is ok. Had the Chicago hot dog, Caesar salad and bbq chicken wings. Hot dog was a foot long and great-first time. I wasn't too excited for everything else, but I'm glad we came and will return to one of 10 other Harry Caray restaurants in the state.

Dined in for lunch. Service was very slow and our waiter was not attentive. We had to hunt down our own napkins, utensils, and were not given refills on drinks until after our meals were nearly finished. I ordered the pulled pork poutine fries because it looked interesting and different. The bacon brown gravy was mushy and made the fries soggy. My fries were also slightly burnt. My youngest daughter had to return her kid's grilled cheese because the cheese was not melted on the inside.

The meatball sub was terrible. The roll was dry, but the worst was the meatballs, which seemed to have decent quality meat but almost no flavor at all. There was also no sauce on the sub to cut the dryness of the fat and the roll.

As a lifelong Chicagoan, head my advice and avoid this place. Harry Caray must be rolling over in grave knowing that some corporation is profiting by using his name for this entity on Navy Pier. The food bears no resemblance to his namesake restaurants. Two golf ball size meatballs in tomato sauce from a jar ($15) and flatbread (think microwaved frozen bread) with sausage (maybe 2 tablespoons crumbled hamburger) and there it is. The chicken salad for $15 was a bowl of lettuce with an overcooked chicken patty on top. And the food came before our drinks. 1 star because 0 is not an option.

My mom and I stopped in here for a quick snack of cheese curds a few drinks and we were pleased. The food was out quick, the service was great, and our drinks were strong. No complaints!
