Most of my childhood friends moved out of San Francisco. Sometimes I have to go to where they are. The Harry's Hofbrau in Redwood City is better. But since they live in Union City/San Leandro, we came here instead. Same great food. We ordered their Saturday Specials, 10 oz prime rib $29 x2 and a turkey enchilada $16. Everyone here is super nice. We had a small child with us and a staff person helped us carry a tray to our table. As for the food, it was a lot. The prime rib was served medium rare with au jus. This was delicious with the herb crust. My friend liked her turkey enchilada $16 and would get it again. Somehow we still had room for some strawberry shortcake for to-go. My friend lined again at 7pm at which point wrapped around 2x. When he finally got to the cashier, she said next time, just come to the cashier if he was ordering dessert. We didn't know that and didn't want to cut anyone. But now we know. Great job everyone at Harry's Hofbrau.

I came here for a special family dinner because I wanted to show the kids what this place was like. I expected an empty parking. It was full. I expected an empty dining room, it was pretty full too. I expected it to be good, not great. I ordered the open face turkey sandwich and it was great. I expected to pay more than I wanted. I paid $140 for 6 people! I didn't expect to run I to anyone. I ran I to my cousins. Wow! A treasured institution for decades still thrives, still resonates, and is a wonderful place to gather with family and friends. I will be back!

Great food and portions for the price. Large dinning area great for families and parties. Definitely recommend if you're hungry for meat and don't want to break the bank.

Step back into yesteryears at this old-school cafeteria, with expert carving stations (e.g. turkey, roast beef) reminiscent of Reno. Home-style, stick-to-your-bones daily specials (e.g Pot Roast and Egg Noodles), served with choice of vegetarian sides. A nod to Bavaria, with items such as sauerkraut and purple cabbage. Top everything with gravy. Extensive selection of pre-tossed salads and slaws. An excellent option for budget-conscious families or paying Dutch amongst friends. Wood-paneled saloon immediately adjacent for pay-as-you-go bar. An historic icon worth the novelty at the least.

Sometimes I just want a big old plate of comfort food. Harry’s has a wide selection. Pick and choose as you go down the line. The he seating area is large and spread out. There aren’t s lot of these types of restaurants around. These guys have been at it a long time. Casual, plenty of food. Mellow atmosphere.

Google
I talked my husband into talking there for lunch. He was very satisfied with the family atmosphere and great food availability. No waiting served over a sneeze screen and great customer service. Seniors can eat there and take home the rest for later. Clean and neat restaurant 👌 . I am a picky eater and do not like to waste my money or food. I would go there at least twice a week if I lived closer to each location. Look it up and join the good experience. JML

Google
Solid hof brau, staff were friendly and helpful. Roast beef sandwich roll wasn't quite as good as the kaiser rolls at Sam's hof brau, but this place is still open. Cheese cake was delicious.

We first went to Harry's in 2015. The roast beef, prime rib, and turkey were always great. We also loved the lasagna. The quality has significantly deteriorated since then. I was down to just ordering the lasagna since the roast beef had gotten tough and prime rib all gristle and fat. Here is what my last takeout lasagna looked like. Needless to say, I returned it.

Yelp
The sirloin tips, mashed potatoes, salad, even drinks; but, the PASTRAMI, was awful. And It appears that I was NOT alone. Other people were also not pleased with the pastrami. They sent theirs back while I took a chance on replacing mine. Excellent mashed potatoes. The service was excellent, especially the manager. I have been going there for decades and this was the first complaint. The bathrooms were not as clean as I remember, either. Excellent drinks. The ambiance was kinda kool. It is handicap accessible. There is plenty of parking. So, overall for a place that was also full to capacity, I would stay a steady customer. Maybe you might agree

Yelp
This was my first visit to this Harry's. (I've been to the one in Redwood City years ago). The theme inside has a chill vibe to it. It's dark and relaxing. The decor takes me back to the 80's. I got a kick out of the fake turkey rotisserie next to one of the entrance doors. You're served cafeteria style. I read over the menu before my visit, so I knew what I wanted and was ready. I got the roast beef with a side of mash and gravy & stuffing. Then I added a side of mac and cheese and a slice of carrot cake - to go. The servers will ask what you want and if you'd like anything else. There is a lot of food to choose from. I went around 2 pm on a Wednesday and the place was busy. I could only imagine a Friday or weekend. I did notice that many of the customer base was the much older people. Which is fine with me, they're a relaxed crowd. My roast beef was fresh and sliced when I had ordered it. Got a scoop of stuffing and mash with gravy poured on top of the potatoes and stuffing. Now I can tell they use real potatoes. The consistency and that I bit into some chunks gave it away. Stuffing was soft and flavorful. Mac & cheese was soft and cheesy. I had plenty of leftover for lunch tomorrow. The carrot cake was yum! There were nuts in it and the flavor was perfect. I'll be going back to this place soon. Only wished that I lived closer cause it took me 30 mins to get here thanks to traffic.

Yelp
This is one of my favorite places for comfort food. Harry's Hofbrau serves up huge portions of the food we love- turkey and trimmings, roast beef, meat loaf, roast chicken. All year long. Like stuffed peppers? They got it. Want extra gravy? No problem. Just want salad? Vegetarian? There's something for everyone. One meal can feed two people. The food is reasonably priced, and they even have a Seniors price. Everyone is welcome. The food is delicious and I highly recommend the turkey dinner. Who needs to wait until Thanksgiving? Have it in July. The atmosphere is old-school hofbrau - a little dark with lots of banquet and table seating. It's is especially warm and cozy on a cold day. Staff is gracious, professional and respectful to everyone. They're all good folks. I highly recommend Harry's Hofbrau and if you haven't tried it yet check it out. You'll be glad you did.

Yelp
Another Sunday dinner at one of our favorite restaurants Ironically, the weekend after Thanksgiving and I ordered the turkey leg dinner I've been craving a turkey leg from Disneyland for years now and this really satisfy my craving . It was juicy, very tender and all of the side dishes paired with it perfectly. Their turkey gravy is outstanding. I also got the mushrooms side dish. Let me tell you these mushrooms are out of this world. They're so simple yet so tasty. They're savory, and cooked to perfection. One of my favorite things to get when I come here. Kids had lasagna and they really enjoyed it as well. They said it was really cheesy and the sauce was flavorful He really can't go home Harry's hofbrau The food is always good, the service is fast and the atmosphere is very welcoming and friendly.

Yelp
Came a couple hours before closing (11pm) on a weekend. Wasn't busy, but still a good amount of patrons dining. It was my first time eating there besides attending a Paint Night event years ago. It's spacious with lots of booths and tables, along with a bar area that we didn't get to check out. Since we didn't have any Thanksgiving food over the holiday, we decided to come here and give their Roast Turkey dinner a try. The man serving me asked if I wanted stuffing and mashed potatoes and gravy, which I said yes. As I went down the line, I also got a wheat dinner roll, a side of beets, some cranberry sauce, and a fountain soda. Came out to around $25. First thoughts- a hefty amount of food! Turkey was moist, gravy was nice. Bread was not dry at all. But everything was disappointingly cold. Also the stuffing was an unfortunate gluey, pasty plop of mush hidden beneath the turkey slices. Kinda killed it for me.

Yelp
What a fun find after Glowfari last night. All I know is I'm definitely coming again. I won't get to have a Thanksgiving this year, and their 3 types of Turkey offerings---- o ya. And the cookies and cream ice cream was perfect shared. Hearty and old school. Been open in this cavernous Spence for 36 years!!!!

Yelp
I love the home made taste of their foods here. I stopped in on my way over to the Bay before I jumped on the bridge. If you are in the mood for deliciously made turkey dinner with the fixings, come on by! The turkey was roasted to perfection, not dry. The gravy was not too salty drenching the mashed potatoes and stuffing! So good! The Senior dinner comes with a beverage and a scoop of ice cream or jello for $17.95! Can't beat that! The place gets busy after 4:30pm. Nice servers. Plenty of booths and tables!

Yelp
Great place for the holidays, especially Thanksgiving. Turkey dinner only $30.95. Great selections and pricing. Huge dining room with a bar in the back with TVs. Annual tradition in the making.

Yelp
Nostalgic, home style cuisine in a historic establishment. The parking lot is always packed, so we decided to give it a visit on a weekday evening. It was fairly busy, but the cafeteria-style line moves quickly. Service was very friendly. I ordered the turkey wing meal, which came with two sides (I chose mashed potatoes and red cabbage) and a generous ladle of gravy. The meal itself was fine. The turkey wing was fatty, the mashed potatoes were average, and the red cabbage was extremely acidic, which was actually nice for cutting through the richness. The roll was just okay. There is a wide selection of beers on tap, and you can take your mug home (which we chose to do) for $5! Overall, a unique experience that I recommend for the nostalgic vibes.

Yelp
I was craving for a Thanksgiving meal in October and my brother would not cook me a feast so I looked around to see where I could get a Thanksgiving feast. This place popped up so I knew I needed to stop by. We stopped by around 1:30pm on a Saturday and they already had the prime rib available. I got the prime rib special with mashed potatoes and gravy and stuffing. For a cafeteria style kind of spot, the prime rib was pretty good, in my opinion. It obviously isn't comparable to a steak house but it was good for what it was. The stuffing and the mashed potatoes and gravy definitely hit the spot as a comfort meal. I left this place very happy.
google avatar

James B.

Yelp
Great prices for large portions of relatively good quality food (it is a cafeteria style thing, so can't expect gourmet). I got the prime rib and it was pretty solid. Mac n cheese side yummy yummy. Not a big fan of the roasted potatoes, will go for mashed potatoes next time. You could tell that the regular customer base likes to eat xd--nice to have one of these places around east bay; had a lot in LA growing up but don't see them super often these days.

Yelp
Went here for the first time and it won't be my last. They have a classic cafeteria set-up that I miss, as these no longer exist aside from the restaurant within IKEA. I've ordered the brisket dinner for lunch and it did not disappoint. It was a hearty portion that is cooked home style while being tender and seasoned, 4/5 stars. Plus you get two sides and a dinner roll. I chose mashed potatoes and mac & cheese, both a 3.5/5 stars rating. The service was efficient and the ambiance was peaceful while I was there.
google avatar

Valerie B.

Yelp
This place is an old school restaurant that is cafeteria style comfort food. Their prices are reasonable and their food is good. I failed to take pics but will next time we want old school comfort food. The parking is plenty and the restaurant is huge!

Yelp
I do some volunteer work at John George Hospital and Harry's Hofbrau is conveniently located to the hospital within a five-minute drive. I like coming here with my colleague before our volunteer duties. Harry's is an iconic and popular restaurant in the community. The concept is old school buffet style with character. My go to order is the open-faced turkey sandwich with mashed potatoes. The staff always greet you with a smile and are more than happy to answer questions about the menu for newcomers.

Yelp
Everything is good the only thing I don't like is they don't put the condiments on your sandwich
google avatar

Sandy A.

Yelp
Ah like an eat through memory lane. It's everything you want in a German eatery. I'm grateful they had at least one vegetarian entree option. The green salads are blah. But the broccoli salad was yum. Spinach lasagna was so good, would def order again. Carrot cake was pretty good. Pumpkin cheesecake was blah. If you want some good classic fare this is the place. Don't eat leafy salad tho. This is not the place for that. lol
google avatar

Yelp
I got a hot open faced turkey sandwich with mashed potatoes and a side of Brussels sprouts. It was as good as before. Everything was well seasoned. I forgot to get a side of cranberry sauce but I'll save it for the next visit.

Yelp
For how often I end up here, I really should've written this review sooner. Harry's Hofbrau in San Leandro has officially made its way into my weekly rotation. It's not just my husband who's obsessed. My parents love it too, and they always ask to come here when they visit. I actually grew up in Santa Clara and used to go to the old branch there every now and then before it closed. Honestly, that one never left much of an impression. But this San Leandro location is a whole different story. The food here is incredible. I've probably tried six or seven different mains and every single one has been on point. Super flavorful, perfectly seasoned, and just melts in your mouth. They also make amazing leftovers, which is always a plus. And don't sleep on the pies. They're ridiculously good. The service is always solid too. Everyone's friendly, quick, and on it without being overbearing. I also love the vibe of the place. It has this nostalgic charm with the wooden chairs and that early 90s feel that makes it oddly comforting. Kind of like walking into a time capsule in the best way. If you haven't been yet, you're missing out. This place is comfort food heaven.

Yelp
Checking one more item OFF my bucket list....been dying to enjoy a meal at Harry's Hofbrau for years...then, the day before my 74th birthday, I finally made it....all I have to say was WHY DID I WAIT SO LONG...??? Great food was enjoyed by all in my party of 4....3 carved sandwiches with meats "piled to the sky" and a very generous serving of the lasagna special of the day...several delicious sides and a cup of yummy clam chowder...it was all, literally, a feast...!!! Fast, friendly service in their food line and there was no problem finding a table on this Friday....there's so much more food to enjoy..."I actually saw a turkey drumstick calling my name".... can't wait to return and you can be sure, it will be SOONER than later...!!!

Yelp
I've been to Harry's Hofbrau many times since moving to the East Bay. I remember there used to be one in San Jose, which I only visited once, but now it's just this location and the one in Redwood City. My partner and I come here whenever we're in the mood for classic all American comfort food. I like that they offer different specials depending on the day, but they also have a regular menu you can always count on. I usually get the turkey wings, but if they're out, I go for the rotisserie chicken. The food isn't anything mind blowing, but it's comforting and satisfying. For sides, I usually get the mac and cheese, which I think is pretty good. One side I would definitely skip is the stuffing. It's worse than Stove Top, which I actually don't mind, but Harry's version is really gummy and mushy. On a more positive note, I recently tried the Asian salad as a side and it was surprisingly good. They give you a choice of a white or wheat roll. Go for the wheat. It has everything but the bagel seasoning on top and it's actually really tasty. We usually come here when my in laws are visiting since they like the senior menu. It's a good deal for them because it comes with a free drink and ice cream. The parking lot sometimes looks packed, but once you're inside, there's always plenty of seating.

Yelp
Food is good. The service is okay. Ambience is kitchen people chatter. Come try Harry's if you never did. Simple and convenient!

Yelp
25 May 2025. 1:22 pm 4 stars not 5 as the smaller men's stall toilet seat needs to be fixed before someone throws a hip out. Stopped in for a treat on my birthday. Another great meal. Pastrami with Swiss on French. Same again but with corned beef. Au Jus for dipping and Strawberry shortcake. Is your mouth watering yet? Don't forget to finish off the mac and cheese. We were pleasantly surprised when I asked Wendy our cashier how to leave a tip on the credit card receipt. She said tips can only be given with cash. How refreshing not to have a "Leave me a tip" message on a computer screen flashing me in the face. Wendy and the young woman at her side were very friendly and helpful. The sandwich makers are great. Of course we will be back again.

Yelp
Wow wow wow !!! I think this is the only Hofbrau in the Bay Area now and it will never disappoint. All the food is cooked fresh daily. The meats are absolutely delicious, perfectly cooked. The service is excellent. The staff is so polite and so helpful. The ambiance is very old school vibes, but it's a nice change from some of the modern restaurants. They have thanksgiving dinners to go for those who don't like to cook. Absolutely hands down a great spot for lunch or a good home cooked meal!

Yelp
The food at Harry's has never been better than right now. As a kid, my family would take my siblings and I to this location periodically as it provided a decent amount of food for a smaller budget. The he thing that's good out though was the flavor just wasn't all there. Fast forward over a decade later, the place still provides generous portions for a great price but this time each item is loaded with flavor. My tri tip was cooked and seasoned perfectly. The mashed potatoes were also super creamy. The fruit salad one of my family member's ordered was just the right amount of sweet, and the other items my party had were met with great satisfaction. I what's important to note is that the service is essentially minimal aside from cleaning up. You have to go to the front where you pay to get a refill on your drink but what's great is that, that is a separate line from those who are ordering. From what I could tell, most people here tend to be regulars and it's for good reason. The ambience is very community oriented and I can say I've practically seen almost everyone here cracking a smile. 5/5.
google avatar

Ebony W.

Yelp
Not gonna lie, I was skeptical when my mom took my siblings and me to Harry's Hofbrau, but I completely judged it wrong. The food? Bomb. Honestly, it was the closest thing to a home cooked meal I've had from a place like this. We went on Easter, so it was packed, but the line moved pretty quickly. I got the roasted turkey with gravy, straight hit. The mac and cheese and baked beans really surprised me too... so flavorful! Service was a bit of a mix. The man serving the food? 10/10, super friendly and helpful. The women working the salad area, though, had attitudes over something as small as asking for extra Caesar dressing. Then at checkout, we had an issue with my little brother's kids plate. He was told he could get ice cream after he finished, but when we came back to get his ice cream, the young lady at the register gave us serious attitude. We had to pull out the receipt just to prove it was included. Once we did, she said, "Next time, don't use the bowl," but like, how would we have known? It was our first time there. The whole interaction was just unnecessary and petty. To top it off, when we asked for a to go bag, she gave us this tiny brown lunch bag. Thankfully, another kind worker stepped in and gave us an actual bag for our leftovers. Despite the attitude from a couple of the women, the food was truly amazing. I'd come back but probably just get my food to go to skip the sass and keep it cute.

Yelp
My husband found out about this place online and we wished we had come earlier! From what it sounds like with my friends, this is a staple and gem of a restaurant in the community for years! We came during the Christmas season and the restaurant was decorated beautifully. It had a homey feeling with all the Christmas lights. Parking was pretty easy, plenty of parking spots that wrap around and the back of the restaurant. It's a cafeteria style dining establishment so they don't even expect tips. I really enjoyed seeing the food in front to choose and the line moved so quickly. I ordered the roast beef with the mac and cheese side. It came with a bread roll and butter and mashed potatoes with gravy. It was so delicious and I devoured it all. Seating is open and the employee told us to leave our tray with our dishes on the table.
google avatar

Agnes C.

Yelp
You order your food cafeteria style. Pick your table then go to the buffet stand and select your dishes, sides and drinks. You pay at the end of the buffet line. For lunch I picked the Reuben Sandwich on Rye Bread and a German Potato Salad. The food was tasty, I prefer my Reuben sandwich to have more of a shredded and softer meat. The potato salad was not the same I had in Germany but it was good. The place is great for small groups (2-6 people) because there's a variety of of food to pick from and each person can pay for their own order. It was nice to have St Patrick's Decoration (March 1) and the place got busy by 1 pm. I could come back here to try other dishes , like the lunch or dinner plates.
google avatar

Darin T.

Yelp
I'm glad Harry's Hofbrau is still open in the Bay Area, even after the closure of their long-running San Jose location. It's a reliable staple with generous portions at a great price. The setup is cafeteria-style--walk in, stand in line, and the servers will plate your meal from the buffet line. They offer daily specials for both lunch and dinner, so it's worth checking their website for the latest options. I've had the turkey stroganoff over rice, which was delicious, as well as the Minor's Bones (ribs), both of which were excellent. I also love that you can choose two sides from a long list of hot options or substitute a side salad, with several salad choices available. Overall, it's classic American diner fare that has remained consistently good for years. Won't blow you away but you will leave satisfied

Yelp
This is a great place to go for meat dinners and beers. They have a full bar and the food is quite good. They do cater to more seniors, so they are very sodium conscious. But nothing a little salt can't fix. Some things are a bit bland for my taste, but with all the condiments it is something easily customized to the person. The meats are all great. The au jus is very good, and the deserts are quite memorable. It is a family style place, so service is mostly from choosing your meal, paying, and then searing where ever there is a place. But the place is big so we haven't had problems finding a place even when the line was long. They bus the tables very fast, too. Overall the ambiance is that of a diner. Very clean. We will be going back, for sure.

Yelp
My new favorite place to drink beer near Hayward! The beertenders are so friendly and nice. Yera is my fav bartender! Ive came here to buy to-go beer cans on a Friday and Saturday around 1-2pm time and it wasn't busy. I've came to just drink beers in the afternoon and night time too. Definitely not stingy with beer samples at all. They have a big beer list. I will have to come back to try their wines. Prices are great for beer and to-go cans. They give discount when you buy cans in a pack. You save about $1 per can. We finally tried their Saturday Prime rib for $28.84 without tax. The prime rib was tough and dry though. The seasoning for the prime rib and their sides were pretty light and healthy tasting. Maybe they cater to the older crowd who comes here. Parking is a big private lot. I never have trouble finding parking even during busy times.
google avatar

Veronica P.

Yelp
There's not many places left like good ol' Harry's. This is for the BAR only. It is never packed because they have plenty of seating inside and outside on the patio. They have a full bar with rotating beers and their pours are always fresh. The mixed drinks are generous and it's not unusual to get lots of locals in. They always have the games on the tv and it's lively even when few people are there. Drinks are very reasonable and staff is amazing. This is one of our favorite places to come and grab a drink!

Yelp
One of the departments at work holds their annual holiday party here and after stopping by today, I can see why. There's ample parking outside and seating inside (even a patio area outside that would be great during spring/summer). There was a long queue when I arrived, but the folks behind the counter work pretty quickly without making you feel rushed when it's your turn. I made the mistake, or the right choice, in not eating breakfast before I arrived for lunch and ended up getting the following: *roast beef sandwich on sourdough french roll with lettuce and swiss cheese - 13.14 *cup of new england clam chowder - 3.89 *slice of chocolate cake - 5.75 *root beer - 3.09 I took a quarter of the sandwich back home with me and feel like I'll be stuffed around dinner time, too. There's great value at Harry's for sure. Such a cozy interior that feels perfect for the holidays. I'll be coming back!

Yelp
Harry's Hofbrau is located kind of an awkward and isolated corner right at a main intersection. Lately, the parking has been full when we visit, so parking may be hit or miss. Like usual, there is a long line, but the line does not move as quickly lately compared to our first few visits. So far I have been here at least 7 - 8 times now, while the first 4 -5 times was great, the last few visits has been a miss. Even the employees from the previous few visits were not as friendly or welcoming as before. I get my usual - the roast turkey or turkey leg dinner, depending what is available. The roast turkey has been dry the last couple of times I ordered it, while the turkey leg has been red and raw on my last couple of times I ordered it. My bf usually tries something different every time, so he opts for their daily specials. We both agree that all the food from the last few visits has been a complete miss, which was disappointing, as we both enjoyed this spot a lot. We felt not just the entrees were off, the sides tasted different too and just tasted either old or overcooked / reheated.
google avatar

Amelia D.

Yelp
Ambiance 4/5 love the cozy booths, the flags, the German decor, and the separate beer bar Food 3.5/5 - getting the gravy on the mashed potatoes was the highlight of our trip. The roast beef was generously portioned and tasted as expected. Would not order the Mac n cheese again; despite its creamy texture it is underwhelming in flavor. You get generous portions of everything. Service was good, this is not a table service restaurant so you primarily interact with staff at the counter. We went on a lowkey Friday night with no line but I have heard the line is sometimes out the door. Overall, I would go again for the experience and to try the turkey and roast chicken.

Yelp
A hofbrau is a German-style cafeteria specializing in freshly-carved meats served on sandwiches and dinner plates with a wide selection of hot and cold side dishes. Harry's Hofbrau has a massive, traditionally-decorated dining room and patio, and you line up to order at the carvery and steam table. I tried the Reuben Sandwich, made of pastrami, sauerkraut, and Swiss cheese, which I got on an iconic Dutch Crunch roll. The Turkey Wing dinner plate came with a tender roasted turkey wing along with gravy, stuffing, and a bread roll, and for my sides, I tried the watery macaroni & cheese and the Greek salad (peppers, tomatoes, onions, olives, and feta). Everything we tried was decent (though nothing too outstanding), but my favorite part was the lively, cozy atmosphere--a perfect setting for a casual meal.

Yelp
It's a stable in the community. I've been here a handful of times. It's a cafeteria style, so line up and order and pay at the end of them plating your food. Huge space. Great for big parties - make reservations. Great bar too. Saturdays are known for their prime rib meal which is about $26. Come early - for lunch or afternoon because by dinner time you risk of it being by sold out. I love their corned beef dinner meal. It comes with mashed potatoes, dinner roll and a side and it's $19. You can mix meats if it's the price, which was nice since I got to try pastrami too! Prepare for food coma, cause this place is quite filling. The service is good. The staff are so friendly and helpful. The bar makes a good hot toddy!

Yelp
(2.5 out of 5) I used to come here all the time, the service here is good and the ambiance is also very nice! I used to love the pastrami Ruben and this place was a solid 4/5 but they changed there portions!! Buying a 20$+ meal to just get 6 little cuts of pastrami!!! Insane. Very disappointing that they cut back like that.

Yelp
Delicious and good portions! I visited Harry's Hofbrau for Saturday Dinner around 5:30am to try out the Saturday Prime Rib Special. The parking lot was already filled with lots of cars but still had a decent amount of parking spaces left. This restaurant is cafeteria style. You line up, get a tray, and choose your main entree. You go down the line and choose your, sides, desserts and sauces. I chose the prime rib special which you can swap out the stated side for another side. The prime rib was delicious! I was worried it would be overcooked but it was a perfect medium rare for my tastebuds. I also enjoy all the sides. The portion size was great for my standards. I would def come here again.

Yelp
It was Thanksgiving day and there was no turkey nor ham nor fixings in sight for me. So I drove down to Harry's to satisfy my good ole American Thanksgiving dinner craving with some carving! After I looked up online that they have an annual holiday fixed menu, I called to ask when would be the easiest time to be seated on such a big holiday. The manager basically said it'll busy no matter what especially around dinner time. I was working the whole day so i wasn't going to get there outside THAT window. So I saw that To-Go was an option online. and OH BOY that was a good idea. When I pulled into the parking I could see the lot was pretty darn full and there was a line flowing out the front door along side building!! I got luck and found a parking spot quickly and jumped into the back of the line and asked if anyone knew about a separate take out line. No one knew, of course. So another lady and I walked inside and made our way to the familiar food line. Holy Moly!! You should've seen the winding back and forth of the line for sit-down. Then we noticed a really short line of less than10 people at the 2nd register. We asked those folks and indeed this was the take out line. FANTASTIC!! We waited less than 15min before we put our orders in. Then we just stood to the side waiting for our stash to leave. Packed and ready to eat. It was great! I was home in no time chopping away and satisfied that this year I wasn't going to miss out on turkey, stuffing, gravy, cranberry sauce, apple pie (yes, I don't like pumpkin pie), ham, etc. And yes, I think it probably tasted just as good as I had sat in the restaurant. The only difference was I was probably finished eating my to-go Thanksgiving meal at home by the time I'd be seated at the actual restaurant!!! haha

Yelp
Overall, the food was okay. Nothing to make a journey for. The staff were nice and the selection of meat is good. The sides could have been better. I didn't try their desserts but the carrot cake looked really good. Here's what we ordered: $11.54 Mac and cheese with a 1/2 Caesar salad and 1/2 pesto pasta salad, and a bread roll. The Mac and cheese tasted similar to KFC's Mac. I would have been equally satisfied by a Kraft Mac and cheese. The salad was okay. The pesto pasta salad was a little bland. I could taste the pesto but the taste of cold pasta overpowered it. $12.24 Turkey leg- my boyfriend actually liked their turkey leg. It is really messy so be prepared to wash your hands after even if you use utensils. $13.24 Reuben sandwich- we added mustard that's at each table and dipped it in their thousand island and it was actually pretty good. This was my favorite thing we ordered. The noodle soup of the day was also good. If you like meat, I recommend coming for that and maybe trying the desserts. Pass on the Mac.

Yelp
If you love old timey diners and dives this is for you. Enough for nostalgia with older folks but also delicious enough for kids. It's hard to find these kind of dishes in the Bay Area and I love the wooden booths and comfortable vibe. I can see myself hanging out here with friends or family at the bar in back. It definitely lends itself to conversation and a unique experience. Service is simple, casual and pleasant. The most memorable items for me are the cuts of meat and home style desserts.

Yelp
Love Harry's Hofbrau! Always great food & friendly service. The carved meats are super tasty & portions are big -- you definitely won't leave hungry. It's a relaxed spot with that old-school vibe, perfect for a casual meal with family. Always a good choice! Btw it was my HB first time and he really enjoyed it!

Yelp
The service is phenomenal I would come back just for them over the food tbh. Ambiance is a lot of wood everywhere, kind of like a sizzler with a bar area in the back. I have the pastrami dinner. The mashed potatoes and gravy were amazing, the Caesar salad was really good but the Mac n cheese was a huge let down unfortunately. 4/10 will return
