We came to Cancun for a 2-week celebration of our 32nd wedding anniversary . After careful research, we booked a reservation at Harry's for our special night on 11/7/24 at 7:30 pm. Dressed up and excited, we arrived at 7:20 pm. Unfortunately, the experience started to unravel from the moment we pulled up.
Valet? Barely looked up from their phones.
Hostess? Greeted us, then led us to a "lounge" area where the table was so low, we couldn't sit comfortably without bending our legs uncomfortably.
We ordered a cocktail, hoping the night would improve. Instead, A/C vent above my husband started dripping on him! We asked to move, and they relocated us, but it was still in the lounge.
After waiting, we asked about our dinner seating, as no one in the lounge had food. The waiter shrugged, saying he didn't know and that others had been moved indoors due to rain. We mentioned it was our anniversary and that we had a reservation. His response? "I don't know what to tell you, sorry."
At that point, we realized they didn't care about our special night. We asked for the bill, and suddenly the waiter offered to "try and find a table," but it'd "be a while." When we declined, another staff member halfheartedly tried to seat us elsewhere as we were steps from leaving. I left with tears in my eyes , devastated that our special night was overshadowed by this poor experience.
But, the night wasn't over. Back at our resort, after a few tapas we were leaving the dining room and my amazing husband took my hand, and we danced to live music . In that moment, I knew I had everything I needed. Grateful for 32 years with this wonderful man
