I began my professional career on Wall Street in 1973. One of my great pleasures was to meet my dad for lunch at Harry's Back Room (at the iconic India House) every week. Now, fifty years later and living on the Palm Beaches, I was delighted to again dine at Harry's - this time at his new location.
The menu is extensive and features my all time favorite dish, Beef Wellington. It seems that the recipe and preparation are still as they were back then. Our other mains were quite good; the ribeye steak was flavorful, tender and perfectly cooked. The lamb chops were also excellent, although we would have preferred all chops from the rack, rather than a loin chop mixed in. The only negative was Harry's Burger. My friend ordered a slight modification to the standard preparation, which the kitchen got wrong. Although we notified our server, she never fixed the issue.
Our appetizers were great; the tuna tartare was one of the best we've ever eaten. The Caesar Salad was crisp and well dressed. Our sides were good as well - the well seasoned hash browns just as I remember them and the asparagus were perfectly cooked and tasty.
The wine list is, in a word, impressive (where can you find four different vineyards of Brunello Di Montalcino? The decor is tasteful and clean. Unfortunately, the noise level was oppressive.
The service was generally (but for the glitch noted above) precise. Servers and captains came around regularly to check on us. That said, the male staff seemed a bit stiff. Making up for that was Harry coming around regularly, checking on all the tables. So, dinner was quite expensive, but excellent.
