The 23 Best Restaurants in Amsterdam, the Netherlands | Eater
"Hartog’s has been selling whole wheat bread in Amsterdam since 1896, and the bakery has been milling its own flour in the center of the city for nearly as long. Today, nearly everything is made with house-milled, Dutch-grown, whole wheat flour, including the oliebollen (Dutch New Year’s doughnuts), some of the best in town thanks to the whole wheat’s depth, a flawlessly crunchy exterior, and a coating of powdered sugar. While the oliebollen are only available in the winter, summer brings other treats, like speculaas ice cream sandwiches rolled in roasted hazelnuts, candied ginger, and rosemary, or crumbled sportbeschuit, a type of whole wheat cookie that the bakery’s been making for about a hundred years. Best for: A little snack to keep you going while on a long bike ride around the city." - Katharine Khamhaengwong
Delicious bakery!! Spelt bread and crackers are amazing. Great one to visit. No place to sit, only take away. Can be a queue to wait but usually it goes fast.

Ahhh I know their bread is the thing but for me that’s the place to buy apple pies. Just the best!
I really like to treat myself with the small one, perfect size and very good price for the quality.
They’re always fresh and usually sold out around 4 pm, so don’t be late!

Great bakery. Great bread for decent price. Diffident options to choose from. Good sweet pastries available.

Yelp
One of the best bakeries in Amsterdam and NL. It doesn't get anymore authentic and healthy then them. Customer service is helpful and excellent. Prices are so reasonable, it's amazing. If you happen to be in this neighborhood definitely make sure to stop by. I always make sure to stop by when I am on the east side of Amsterdam.

Yelp
This is a great place to grab and awesome toastie, they are fairly quick and they also sell plenty of great baked goods to take home with you or back to the office for your colleagues.
My suggestion is to go for the cheese and egg toastie it's pretty damn special!

Yelp
I think I ate here after hearing too much hype because the sandwich I had was just OK. The bread was very tasty but the ham in it was disappointing. I think that I'll give it another try, but just buy the bread and put some of my own toppings on it.
