Haruno is such a great little sushi spot! The fish is super fresh, and everything tastes amazing. The vibe is chill and cozy, and the staff are really friendly and helpful. I especially loved the salmon sashimi and their special rolls. Definitely coming back!

Haruno’s sushi is amazing! The fish is super fresh and just melts in your mouth, and the rice is perfectly seasoned – not too hard or too soft. The staff are really friendly, and the place feels clean and cozy, which makes it relaxing to eat there. I tried the signature rolls and salmon sushi, and every bite was worth it! The portions are generous, not just for looks like some other places. The price is fair too. Definitely coming back and already told my friends about it!

Seriously, Haruno is officially my go-to sushi place. The sushi is always incredibly fresh and delicious, with spot-on seasoning that makes every bite perfect. Besides sushi, their bento box and the soups are gorgeous as well. Plus, the staff are so friendly and provide excellent service. You won't be disappointed!

For a chic atmosphere and premium prices, I expect premium service. Our server was meh, but what really disappointed me was that I told her since the beginning about my seashell allergy, she/they made a mistake putting a seasoning with seashell on one of our rolls and she just gave me the menu and asked me to order something else instead of suggesting taking the roll and replacing it for what I actually requested, as it should have been, in my opinion. Not going back, there’s better places in town.

Sushi rolls and ngiri were delicious.The menu had so many options to choose from. We were lucky to visit during happy hour, which made the experience even better. Each dish had 3 different rolls, and we ordered happy hours 2 dishes so we got to try 6 varieties at once. Great flavors and great value. Also we trying without rice sushi. That was super looking. Actually we havent any experience about sushis then Amanda, our server, was super friendly and helped us choose non-spicy sushi, which we really appreciated.

I met a few friends here and TBH I did not know what to expect at a sushi restaurant in Springfield, MO, but I was pleasantly surprised. The atmosphere was Asian/Modern but quite cozy and relaxed. The decor was very tasteful. The clientele appeared to be respectable and behaved/dressed accordingly. The service was kind and considerate, about what you'd expect from typical Midwesterners; very gracious. The food was good. I must say that the spicy soybeans were my favorite. I have eaten them quite often at other places and these were the best I've had so far. I tried their sushi and it was good but I didn't eat enough of a variety to give a solid opinion on it. What I had was well prepared, well presented and tasty. The prices were well within acceptable boundaries for the class of restaurant that they offer. Overall, I'll give them 5 Stars on everything in good faith that what I haven't tried yet is on par with what I have sampled so far.

Really enjoyed this restaurant. The food was a bit slow but everything else was exceptional. We came for our son's birthday and the waitress made him feel special and was very engaging with him. We really loved her. The sushi was delicious. I highly recommend the OMG roll

Honestly, Haruno is such a solid sushi spot. The vibes are chill, the staff is super nice, and the sushi always tastes fresh. I usually get the spicy tuna roll or something with eel—never been disappointed. It’s a great place to grab dinner with friends or even just treat yourself. If you like sushi, definitely give it a try!

Always come when back from KC, the coolest vibes inside, best service, and the food is always 12/10! Sex and city roll forever the best.

It was a nice little restaurant in a little outlet. Grilled Scallop Appetizer (3.5/5) The grilled scallops ($15) were very big, and the asparagus and mushrooms were well cooked. But I wasn't a fan of the sauce - it was like a combination of creamy garlic and soy sauce. A little weird. The nigiri ($15) was okay (3.7/5) I feel like a lot if sushi places don't put vinegar in their sushi rice, and this one is the sane. It's only a step above grocery store nigiri - even though you get a lot of different fish like white tuna and albacore. The creme brûlée ($7) was pretty average (3/5) The caramel crust was burnt and flavorful, but the pudding was cold in the middle and warm on the outside, like someone didn't microwave it all the way through. La Madeleine's version is better and cheaper. The ambiance is nice and the staff were very friendly. It's good for a date, but the food wasn't terrific. Maybe people come for the drinks?

Great food and experience. Staff was attentive, not overbearing. Food was tasty. Mangers were knowledgeable and helpful. It's a tight well run business.

Eating alone at this place is definitely to be avoided. Great sushi and the ginger dressing on the house salad is killer. Now to the cons. Bartender is the waiter at the bar and bar eaters take a back seat to table drinkers. Took a bit to finally place my order, a beer, a salad and a sushi roll. Beer was delivered after what seemed like too long a wait, I was right in front of the beer box. I was given a salad and a fork, no napkin. I waited a bit thinking he'd get to me, well he didn't so I ate my salad and finally was able to get his attention and was given a napkin and chopsticks. After a long wait for my sushi I finally ask what the standard wait time was for a single roll. He said he was just about to check on it. It came out immediately, surprise, surprise. No telling how long it had been sitting in the window. The place was ENTIRELY too crowded to have the bartender also acting as waiter. They need to add wait staff!

Delicious sushi! 3 in my party had the 'Oh my god' on fire. The yellowtail appetizer was great too. The bento boxes had big portions. Warm setting and good service. Definitely give it a try.

Updating my review to reflect the level of integrity in their customer service. Not only did they reach out to better understand my experience but also went the extra mile to make it right. An owner that really cares about their customers. Thank you for leading by example.

Everyone knows without proper service, your experience can be shaken. Haruno has made up for my last visit, and then some!! Drinks were amazing!!! :) food was great and most importantly, service was absolutely excellent!!!! So glad I came back and decided to celebrate with Haruno!!!

Hands down the best sushi in Springfield. They also have a sister store called Kai that is another 5 stars for me. Sushi is hard to come by, especially in Missouri, but Haruno is a spot I can always count on for amazing and unique sushi. The fish is always fresh, the presentation is spot on, and the service is amazing. I've never had a roll I didn't love at either of these spots. If you're looking for a great date night, quick lunch, or bar side sushi, this is the place to go.

Nice upscale sushi place with good quality sushi and rolls. We were a little skeptical of getting sushi in Springfield, MO as visitors who live in California. We were pleasantly surprised to find a gem of a sushi spot near our hotel. It's also an upscale place with nice decor. And they use real chopsticks as well. Service was great, too!

It's been a couple of years since I've been to Haruno. My daughters like to take me there for my birthday. They know that I love sushi, especially that flaming one that they are so famous for. They also have delicious entrées, especially the ones that include shrimp. I've never had poor service at this restaurant. And the food is always above and beyond. Unfortunately I don't have any photos, which is sad because their food is very photogenic. Not to be missed! :-)

Got in during a busy day, but not bad sushi. Again, just a busy time; prob wouldve had better experience if they werent booked.

Usually love this place but had terrible interaction. Came in with a group of friends for her birthday and automatically our server who had brown hair and glasses was very rude. Originally wanted to order an item that had nuts on it but as someone with a severe nut allergy, I asked if they could take them off. I was told that they could not take them off because there was no way they could eliminate cross-contamination. My other friend who has celiac tried to order a roll without gluten where she was told they would have to upcharge her for it. Getting either things have never been a problem other times till we had this particular server. She had an attitude the whole time and was very snappy when we requested or asked simple things. After the allergy issue I ordered a salad MEAL and when delivered the salad was the size of small soup. The server gave no heads up of any sorts and just walked away after delivering the meal. Already irritated at the end of the night me and my friends all paid our tabs and the server forgot ours so my friend said "mam sorry here's our checks" to which the server rolled her eyes and quickly jerked them out of my friends hand. I understand being stressed out but there's no reason for any behavior of that sort towards customers. It's truly sad because the service here is usually incredible, but for some reason this time it just was not good.

Excellent food and service every time. We pick up more than we dine in, and the people who take the order and prepare it for pickup are always very polite, patient, and friendly! When we dine in, we almost always sit at the bar... love the interaction and even while they're busy making drinks, they are very attentive to you! Have been enjoying Haruno for many years now... they are singularly one of our favourite places in the Sfield area! Oh... although their sushi menu is set, you can order any combination you like... they are very accommodating.

Top notch Japanese dishes and sushi. Excellent selection of saki. Mixed drinks often have a nice twist and tend to be very good. Neat atmosphere, especially on the bar side.

Best sushi is Springfield! I usually order the Oh My God roll and Spicy Tuna #2. The sushi is delicious and not overly priced. Service here is great. I do recommend making a reservation on the weekends or going early because the wait can be long!

Great service and ambiance. Bolgogo and Bento were delicious and well cooked. Nigiri was fairly fresh, well cut and portioned. Nigiri rice was Americanized to unfamiliararity. Would definitely choose again for the non-nigiri/sashimi food.

Decided to try a new lunch spot and this place was great! We were seated and then forgot about, but the waitress was very nice and offered us a free cheesecake to make up for the waiting. The sushi was high quality and they had the best egg rolls I have had in my life! Will definitely be visiting again!

We moved to the area in November and this was our first experience going out for sushi since the move. We were pleasantly surprised by the large menu, freshness and taste of everything we had. We didn't have a reservation so decided to sit at the bar. Service was quick and the bartenders were friendly and helpful. Happy Hour prices and offerings were a plus! We had the Mozzarella Asparagus and Sesame Tempura as a starter. It was better than it sounded. I could eat this as my meal! The Avocado dipping sauce was tangy and sweet-perfect! The Tuna Tataki was beautiful and tasted just as good as it looked. We had several different rolls and they were all great as well. The Party In Your Mouth Martini was just that. A tad on the sweet side but just how I like my martinis. We will be back!!

Always amazing, the sushi is so good tastes fresh every time, the service is constantly impeccable, the vibes are great I love the lighting, it's very relaxed. They can get busy and take a bit longer on those nights but the food is always worth the wait. This is my favorite sushi spot in town by far.

Food is delicious and our chef was the best! He is the head chef of the restaurant. He usually doesn't cook but they are short staffed so we had the pleasure of his company. The chicken was actually cooked to perfection. Sometimes it seems to be undercooked. He was very observant about everyone in our group and made it fun for everyone. Wish I could remember his name.

Each have their own order and can finish it up. They have all kind if sushi and appetizers and entrees. Never disappoint!!

Food was phenomenal. If you ever come here, highly recommend the beef sashimi & lobster spring rolls for the appetizers. And the Back to Kai, Drunken Tiger, & Jurassic Park for sushi!! Also recommend ordering an extra side of eel sauce!!! The atmosphere was lovely for Valentine's weekend. Our server Emily was a total sweetheart and always checked up on us and made sure we had everything we wanted or to our needs. Will be coming back :).

Where to start? Service was super unfriendly. Beyond slow and food took over an hour? Beverages took forever too. Wasn't complicated stuff. The sushi was mediocre ..probably a step above the grocery store stuff but not remotely worth what they are charging. Surely there are better options for sushi here? PS ...just bc you light something on fire doesn't make it good.

Excellent sushi and the chefs are friendly and top notch. The service was terrible the last time we were there for dinner. The hostess was chirpy and made us feel unwelcome and the bus boy was rude and incompetent when it came to the basic task of wiping down the eating area. The waiter was ok, but talked to our backs and was quick to get us served and out of there. Not a good experience. Seems like something has changed and this newer set of staff is really missing some basic customer service skills.

Haruno is a beautiful restaurant who seem to have focused equally on food and decor aesthetics. This is a perfect place for a office outing, date night, family supper or even lunch/ dinner with friends. Their lunch options are great and priced well. Bento box for less than 10 is a great deal and the sping rolls were one of the best I've had, nicely crisp with great flavor and taste. It's a shame that even in some good restaurants outside the major cities, sushi rolls don't hold after you pick it up. Here it was done well and was delicious.

After jaunting across the US and half way back to get to Springfield I had to find someplace to eat. After yelping for places that were open at a later hour, this came to the top of the list. I grabbed a ride share over. Upon walking in I was quite surprised that there were as many people there. Always a good sign. I ordered some edamame, sashimi and a couple of rolls. The edamame seemed to be a bit over steamed. The tuna was seared perfectly. The rolls were all good. I was definite full and satisfied.

this place rocks, what a terrific place to satisfy the sushi and beyond craving for quality food. From presentation to taste, highly recommended. Pleasant staff too. Not just for the sushi lover, the filet mignon is excellent as well.

Haruno is a really nice restaurant! I personally love their selection of sushi & ahi tuna. They have a pretty long wait & they are pretty expensive but is the place to go if you are looking for somewhere relatively nice to eat at!

What a gem! I did not expect to find good sushi in the middle of the Ozarks while visiting! Service was attentive and friendly and every item I ordered of the menu was stellar. Even the non happy hour prices are reasonable for the high quality sushi they serve. I even liked some of the rolls better than sushi I have had in bigger cities like Houston and Miami! This was a very pleasant surprise. Trust me if you only eat here in Springfield you will NOT miss anything and will be happy you did!

This restaurant is fantastic!! Everything which I ordered were so delicious! The sashimi was very fresh. We ordered beef sashimi, sashimi special, 3 sushi rolls, bulgogi bento and Tonkatsu. We also got a free dish. For me personally, I really like the Tonkatsu!!! The Tonkatsu with the sauce made everything perfect!! If you like raw fish, I think the sashimi is a good idea as the sashimi is pretty fresh. With the wasabi, I enjoyed eating everything!
