My three friends and I visited Harvest House to try Soup Flight Night, and while the food experience itself started off promising, our interaction at the bar really dampened the evening. When we went up to order drinks, the bar wasn’t busy, there were customers seated and chatting, but no one actively ordering. As we looked over the drink menu, the bartender seemed visibly irritated that we were taking a moment to decide. One of my friends ordered first, and while her drink was being made, another friend realized he wanted the same drink. At that point, the bartender reacted with clear frustration and attitude, including a noticeable facial expression and a sharp tone. He then told his female coworker to continue our order in a way that made us feel like we were a bother rather than guests. (I should have gotten his name, what a shame.) However, the overall interaction left us uncomfortable enough that we chose not to tip due to the unwelcoming attitude we received.
Afterward, I looked through other reviews and noticed several similar comments mentioning unfriendly or rude bartenders, especially toward new patrons. Unfortunately, that matched our experience.
We wanted to enjoy our first visit and Soup Flight Night, but the bar service made it hard to fully do so. I hope this feedback helps improve the experience for future guests.
