Gracey Love

Google
Never shopping at this market ever again. Came in to pick up an apple pie for a dinner party. Thankful it came in a covered box. Saw a couple of birds freely flying throughout the store. One bird landed on some muffin tins in the bakery/deli area with its beak touching the individual muffin cup surfaces. Absolutely repulsed. Four employees in the deli area and no one was making sure the area was food safe and sanitary. Going to take our business to @Lazy Acres where I won't have to worry about fresh foods being compromised.

Google
Great market! Everything so fresh! Plenty of organic options and hard to find items. Great meat and fish too.

Mark Burns

Google
Small grocery store with a great selection of high quality meats. Produce is limited. Good wine selection. Everything is pretty pricey though. Staff is very friendly and helpful.

Betty McDonald

Google
Tried to get a sandwich an hour and ten minutes before close and an employee said he had already started to "clean up" but I was welcome to choose prepackaged items from the refrigerated case. We left for Las Olas. We'll never return. I'm pretty sure the manager is unaware that young employees are turning away customers over an hour before closing.

Rob Bristow

Google
Paid $15 for a Greek salad. Received a small pre-packaged garden salad with no feta cheese, olives, or pepperoncini. What a joke

Google
Couldn't believe they charged us on Saturday for parking. So angry we spent much less money than we had planned

Google
Prices are higher than local markets. Staff are too busy to greet. The plaza where this market is located is run down due to a lack of upkeeping. Concrete slabs are slightly raised in certain area, this could cause someone to trip.

Rudy Lopez

Google
Ask for half a rack baby pork ríbs. Lady name Angelyke told me you know this half is 25 dollars and look at me like you cant afford this can you. Please sucks.

Sandy E.

Yelp
Great store, just a bit pricey. I do love the fact that they ha BFF e parade salads, sandwiches main meals for easy pick up... And the deli for great other choices.

Alex W.

Yelp
Great atmosphere. Tasty sandwiches. Nice place to visit on a weekend with family. Highly recommended.

Michelle L.

Yelp
Everything thing is so good and fresh. Harvest ranch market has unique products and lots of homemade food ready to go. Sandwiches are delicious, salads are amazing. Let's not even get started on the cheese selection! Wow. Service is always great. Love being close to this location.

Bow R.

Yelp
Great market. The deli has great sandwiches and good hot plates. They also have good premade sandwiches and salads. Good meats. A little pricey, but good quality items! Friendly staff!

Yianni A.

Yelp
When I want to grill the perfect meat, I come to this supermarket/Butcher! The quality of steak is the best so far and we don't go anywhere else. Also the type of products are unique and sometimes not found in a regular grocery store. The second time the butcher was very nice and friendly and even gave me some ice and bags to store my meat so I can get home with it!!

J C.

Yelp
Make no mistake: this is a specialty market that charges top dollar for items you can usually get elsewhere for much less. Their meats are magnitudes more expensive than the major markets and I wouldn't say they're necessarily better. Yes they have some preparations (e.g. rib roasts) that you might not see elsewhere but that's not hard to find. Same with seafood. Example: they have tuna poki at $20/pound and I can get a better product for less money at Lazy Acres. They charge ridiculous prices on their premium liquor. Yes, some of their bottles are rare, but the only reason they have them on the shelf is because their prices are absurd. I don't know why I would ever return. I can do better elsewhere.

Shaun F.

Yelp
Dirty and smelly! Very outdated and strong non pleasant odors from the deli!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nadia G.

Yelp
The staff here are not so friendly. The store itself has great selections. Very nice fresh fruit and vegetables. Great location.

KarissaGrace L.

Yelp
Very diverse categories of food as well as 'goods'- candles, cards, flowers- and, everyone whom works there is friendly and genuinely helpful. They have amazing seafood and meat sections, their sandwiches are very nominally priced for the quality, and they have a fantastic hot food counter amongst a VERY large selection of cheeses, and, higher-end alcohol offerings. Whilst a niche detail to report, they have a lot of Salad Dressings/marinades, seasonings, and, breads that are hard to find in a traditional grocery store.

Scott H.

Yelp
I love this market for their sandwiches. Angie and Valerie are absolutely amazing. They put a lot of effort into making sure they make it perfect for me every time. It's hard to find such great workers today, and Angie and Valerie have gone over and above what is asked of them. I can honestly say we've become great friends through their service!

Nazy J.

Yelp
Wow this place is beyond amazing... they have a great selection , they upkeep it very nicely but most importantly every single one of their staff members are so so so nice. They treated every client like family but with so much respect. Such kindness and service is unheard of in Los Angeles

Dawn C.

Yelp
Sophia at the Deli is AMAZING. The best customer service skills and super sweet! She also makes the best wraps on the planet. I work across the street and order all the time. She is just the best :)

Daphne L.

Yelp
What a cute little market! We stopped by tonight after dinner for a few seconds and we just loved that his market felt cozy and totally like your neighborhood market! It reminds me of a cute Bristol Farms. The prices of the fruits were a little more than what you would find at a Von's or Ralph's but you know you are paying for quality! Plenty of parking and the staff is super friendly and nice! I recommend you stop by!

Sandy K.

Yelp
So glad that I went in so I could find out if I wanted to work there. Harvest Ranch Market is always hiring online and now I know why. I observed Debbie snapping at a another associate in the produce department. She seemed very stressed and was stomping around the store and back and forth to her car. None of the associates seemed happy or acknowledged the FEW customers in store. This store is way too expensive ... more than Whole Foods and Jimbos. Don't waste your time or money! DEBBIE - please breathe and be kind. It's really sad when a potential customer and employee is turned off by your rude behavior. Maybe a different job would be better for you. Best of luck. I definately won't be shopping at Harvest Ranch Market and hope this yelp helps others do the same.

Yelp
This placeis a dark and dismall market. THE ONLY REASON I COME BACK HERE IS BECAUSE OF THE LOVELY BAKERS WIFE BAKERY PRODUCTS. Here bec Chicken pot pie I bought tonight which was disgusting they had no nutritional information on it: no reheating information no information on nutritional content at all and I called them tonight and they were so displaced I don't like them. NO anything LABELED AT ALL baking information nothing and then by the end of the night and it up in the trash. Here's a picture of I just threw away

Janet B.

Yelp
New to the area, and this is our closet store, we were excited to check it out. I have never been so impressed by a shop. The selection of fruits, veggies, wine and most of all meats!! This place is amazing! We are big grillers and can't wait to stop in frequently to grab fixings for din. The staff was all very kind, from the deli to the butcher.

Tami L.

Yelp
One of my favorite markets in North County for fresh meat, fish, chicken and pork chops. They really do a nice job here. Small, specialty upscale market so probably not a place I would ever do my "regular" grocery shopping. I come here when I'm cooking for friends or others and want what I can't get or seem to find at the big chain markets. Really a nice store, friendly service and great selection. Don't be sticker shocked! You're going to pay a little extra but it's worth it.

Andrea D.

Yelp
This is one of the best markets around. Quality products and courteous employees for a great shopping experience. The wine selection is awesome and the wine manager Marc is very knowledgeable and always available for a suggestion :-)

Yelp
My husband drove from Carlsbad last week to shop here and spent $100.00 on meat. We had shopped in there location in El Cajon when we lived in La Mesa and it was magical. The butcher counter and the bakery had the most delicious items for sale. We moved to Carlsbad and shopped at the Encinitas location for many years until the quality of their food changed. It was more expensive and had very little flavor. We said never again. We made the mistake of giving them another try. Our chicken fajitas lacked marinade and there were very few vegetables in them, the carne asada also lacked marinade and flavor and the chicken cordon bleu and chicken santa fe were tasteless and rubbery. He paid $30 for lamb kebabs that we are eating for dinner tonight. I hope they are better then the other meats he bought.

Kathy D.

Yelp
Lisa ,in catering went to the moon and back to accommodate me for a Mother's Day Brunch. This is a stressful time and she could not have made it easier. The platters were lovely and I think all will be happy!

Cecilia L.

Yelp
I previously had a bad experience at Harvest Ranch (while getting lunch at the deli with my grandson) and I was very appreciative of their management team reaching out to me immediately. They genuinely apologized and made right my previous experience. More importantly, they are putting the right actions in place to ensure other customers don't have the same experience as I did. I have been shopping at Harvest Ranch Market for as long as I can remember (as long as they have been there). I like that they have really good specialty meats, great produce and fresh flowers. I know I can find higher quality items at this store vs. other stores I normally shop. They are working toward better customer service and I'll continue to come here!

Sharon V.

Yelp
WARNING: Hmmm....I stopped in here during lunch today to pick up a few items for dinner tonight and was REALLY put off by my experience here. I'm making a spicy fish bowl tonight so went in to look at what they had. I am a huge fan of halibut but when I started to look at the filets, I noticed that there was a long black hair lying on the front 2 filets and kind of wrapping under a 3rd. I knew I wasn't going to purchase THOSE so started to look at others. I ended up picking tilapia since it would go well with my Spicy Fish Taco bowl. When the guy working behind the counter came along, I politely let him know that there was a hair on the halibut. He immediately removed the hair and I just thought he'd remove the filets that the long 6-8" black hair was lying on...but he proceeded to pick up my fish and package it for me. I couldn't imagine that he'd leave those there so lingered around the deli to only realize that the guy immediately went back to working on what I had interrupted before he started to help. He didn't pick up the fish, wash them or even discard them...just removed the very visible hair and went about his business. It would've made me feel a little better if he had at least made it look like he was going to do something about it...but it didn't seem to be an issue for him. I've purchased LOTS of protein here from this deli and I now question how clean the food I purchase from here really is. I might think twice about shopping for my protein in the future. Just GROSS practices...makes you think what else they think is acceptable!

Yelp
I don't review much but I felt this place really deserved it. Just popped in for lunch at the deli and was immediately greeted with a hello and a smile when I walked in. The deli counter was no different, with a lovely lady genuinely interested in my day! She made wonderful recommendations which made for a really great sandwich. Fresh homemade chips and a pickle included. Excellent service and excellent food, thank you tia!

Craig W.

Yelp
Mixed feelings about this very upscale market. The food is of incredible quality and variety. And you'll pay top, top price for all of it so just know that going in. But the customers and staff are some of the snootiest around. Why can't the rich and emaciated smile and just be friendly? Does life suck that hard when you are a multi-millionaire? And beware the store's wine guy: If you so much glance at a bottle of wine, he will swarm on you with 101 suggestions about other wines you need to try/buy and what are you looking for and what are you cooking and you don't know shit and I know it all, blah blah blather. Believe it or not, excellent wines for good values can be found here. Just make sure you put the bottle in your basket before the wine guy sees you.

Jeremy T.

Yelp
Cool store with bad customer service. Too bad. I went in today to get a sandwich at the sandwich counter. There was nobody else in line, three people working behind the counter, and I stood there for 10 minutes without being acknowledged. So I walked out empty handed and hungry again. This is not the first time it happened to me. Just about two months ago the exact same scenario. The employees just looked over at me a few times, said nothing, and just kept on doing whatever it was they doing... This is the last time I go there for anything.

Maddy B.

Yelp
My family gets most of our groceries from here! Great location for folks who live on rancho santa fe that just need to grab the essentials or plan a whole meal. You can find anything you're looking for and you know it will be fresh. It's really easy to make healthy choices here because there are so many options. Definitely try the flavored chicken breasts that they marinate and the fresh bread loafs (rosemary olive oil is our fave)! Everyone is always nice there too! Great service!

Richard C.

Yelp
I used to come here 2-3 times a week, but since they changed managers, I rarely visit. The shelves have gaping holes in them that never used to be there. I've talked to the manager 3-4 times about items I use. He promised to get them but didn't. The old manager, Al, was great and efficient, but the new one is NOT on top of things. The seafood department is still good and the employees are friendly as usual, but the lack of overall management is a big disappointment. Richard Cole

Chris A.

Yelp
Love HRM! Visit often and every single time, the staff if super friendly and attentive. Love the deli area, with all their fresh selections. A little pricey, but it's a few blocks from me and I like their selection of stuff. Never super crowded when I go either, so it makes it nice to order and be done in a timely manner.

David P.

Yelp
Went in today for first time in a month. Wow - what a difference between September to now. No familiar faces - the Manager Al is gone who was my go to guy. The shelves had a lot of missing merchandise- felt like was walking into a place going out of business. Not sure what is happening here as their TRI tip and carne asada are legendary but I fear the reaper is near.

Nory B.

Yelp
I love Harvest Ranch! Been coming here for my gourmet needs for 15+ years! Haven't been in a while since I've been traveling, but the quality and selection of unusual items, quality of local produce, and fantastic wine selection has remained consistent or even improved over the years. And their sandwiches are soooo good! Didn't get anything from the meat counter this time, but they still have a wide selection of both marinated and plain meats and seafood. Yes, it's pricey, but quality costs, and is well worth it! No GMO's here!

Michael B.

Yelp
Old school country style supermarket which is patronized by loyal locals.Marc the beverage manager was very courteous to me.

Jim R.

Yelp
Blonde lady at the deli counter was unbelievable. So nice and went out of her way to help me out. Everyone at the store is so nice. They seem to really try and help you which is pretty exceptional in these crazy times in which we live. Kind of out of the way for me but worth the effort.

Tanya K.

Yelp
The BEST sandwiches and deli in Rancho Santa Fe. My husband and I each ordered a sandwich and they became lunch and dinner. The ladies behind the counter are very nice and helpful. My husband can't wait to go back. We recommend the veggie sandwich. The sandwiches and the service is way better than Thyme on the Ranch!!!

Julie G.

Yelp
Similar to the location in Del Mar, this Harvest Ranch Market is a little bit more pretentious. An upscale market where you will find all the gourmet goods including a nice selection of hormone-free meats and organic produce that caters to the Rancho Santa Fe shopper. Located in the very back of Encinitas en route to Rancho Sante Fe, Harvest Ranch has an amazing seleciton of wines both vintage and private labels from smaller family-owned vinyards local and around the world.

Yelp
It is great to go into a market where everyone knows you name. That was what life was like before the tradeoff of price for service left us searching isles for help. For my money and they do get my money, Harvest Ranch Market is a shop where you feel good walking in. It is a friendly experience and you can find almost anything you are looking for. Get to know the manager John Barbat and the staff in the deli and meat/fish counter and you will get their picks for the day (although the meatballs and enchiladas are always worth the trip). During Covid-19 every extra service has been happily offered including shopping and delivery to the trunk of your car when you pull up. It all adds to the value of being a loyal customer and enjoying the environment of the Mom and Pops that once lined America's main streets. So, with thanks to John for keeping me safe (and always finding enough TP). I recommend that you enjoy your experience at Harvest Ranch and keep a local treasure prosperous.

Yelp
Im surprised I havent writen a review for this place. Now it is a gourmet grocery store, not your average Vons and the prices reflect that. I come here to pick up quality dry aged steaks. The steaks here are delish and are great quality. However you will be paying for said quality. I dont get my basics here. But when I am making steak, this is the spot I go. Their whole meat counter is phenomenal. They have an amazing selection of meats and seafood. I also love their tortilla chips. Dont come here for your basic items. But when you need top quality meats/seafood, or fresh tortilla chips, come here.

Jen E.

Yelp
This Market is pretty good. I usually come here to get sandwiches at the deli for lunch and the sandwiches are AMAZING. If you are just going grocery shopping this place can be pretty freakin pricey, they have a good gourmet selection, but for just like one thing, or for lunch its great. The staff here has good and bad days, some of the cashiers here aren't friendliest people I've ever met, but there are a few awesome ones also. The Deli manager though, I believe his name is Mike, is Awesome! He is always super helpful and friendly.

A.J. S.

Yelp
Ahh....foodies with the big bucks come here to unite over amazing produce, breads, and a ton of little gourmet sauces and spreads to entice your next dinner party guests. Nothing here is cheap, but you pay for wonderful quality. I spentd (with not my own money, of course) 26.99/lb on fresh peeled/deveined shrimp and an ungodly amount for their beef tenderloin. Was it amazing and fresh? Absolutely, so if you're cooking at home and trying to impress, then a trip to Harvest Ranch will not disappoint.

RC R.

Yelp
Small, boutique-type grocery store on the edge of Encinitas. The market has fresh, tasty produce, but the produce is expensive. The high-priced produce is matched by the prices on the rest of store. The same items at Harvest are $2 or so more expensive for the same items at near-by grocery stores. The place where Harvest market shines is the deli. They have great sandwiches at reasonable prices. Most sandwiches can be enhanced by adding the sun-dried tomato-cream cheese "sauce". Don't forget to say yes when offered a side of home-made chips. The staff is friendly and helpful. The market rates 3-stars (due to the prices). The deli rates 4-stars.

Dana S.

Yelp
This place is pretty funny. It's a gourmet grocery store, so they have a lot of upscale products, especially ones that aren't stocked at a lot of other stores (including Whole Foods). But, their prices can be pretty outrageous. I really only looked at the snack items and the cheese, but I've pretty much never seen such high prices! Regardless, it's in an out of the way spot, so if you just so happen to be in that area and need a market, this is the place to go. They have stone picnic tables outside, too, so you can just sit there and eat in the shade on a nice summer day. Staff is very friendly, too, and the lot is easy to get into and out of.

Devin W.

Yelp
Some of the finest foods in town! They are known for great meat, sandwiches, fresh pressed juice, and wine/liquor. Their only weakness is the cost. Expect a high markup on every item in store. Staff is friendly and the store is always clean. Good beer select, assorted snack items, veggies and fruit. Wine is always a popular item here, so they make sure to stock nothing but the best. I recommend going here if you are planning a special dinner and want nothing but the finest foods.

Andrew N.

Yelp
Great local market with excellent service and an awesome selection of high quality products!

Chad B.

Yelp
One of the top markets in North County. The service is always superior and very helpful. They have been great throughout the Covid crisis in getting products in stock. They do a great job making us feel safe. In addition they have the best meats and produce around. Top of line selection with great staff.

Kim E.

Yelp
Love this place and deli, but during COVID problem the take home deli portions have gone exclusively to HUGE! The servings are way too big. Wish they'd go back to old single serving size. Didn't buy a thing today because of the size of portions .

Ryan A.

Yelp
I came for the pie... Yes, it was one of the stores listed that sell the frozen Julian Pies. I ended up with an apple blueberry and dutch apple, if I recall. Prices were comparable to what you'd find at the actual bakery and minus that windy road drive, I'll take it! The rest of the store is quaint. Seemed like more local brands than the commercial brands you'd find at the big chains. The deli and bakery area had a lot of tasty items on display. If we didn't just eat, I would have liked to try some of the hot foods. But that's just a filler paragraph to make this review longer. PIE!

Emily P.

Yelp
Stopped in for my first time since I moved to the area. Great wine selection and produce, however my experience at the meat counter made it so I will never go back. Ordered some hamburger meat and the man who assisted me did not put plastic gloves on when handling the raw meat. Gross. I found this very unsanitary and a complete disregard for cleanliness. It's a shame because all of the other associates in the meat department were wearing plastic gloves.

Liz W.

Yelp
The store looks great and has a large selection of items. Unfortunately I bought turkey lasagna and crab cakes, thought we could have a nice dinner. Both were expensive and the lasagna was really awful. No flavor, too much turkey without spice, pretty much no tomato sauce, cheese no taste, nothing Italian about it. Tasted like a turkey casserole if there is such a dish?? Crab cakes were better but too pricey. The Cabernet "Three Knights" on special was pretty good so saved the terrible dinner experience. Will go back and try different produce but for now will stay away from pre-prepared goods.

Ikoi H.

Yelp
Cons: They charge a premium for the higher end items they sell. Their pricing is in line with Whole (paycheck) Foods. Pro: Quality and variety. If I'm looking for blue potatoes or need gooseberries for a recipe, I'll probably take a poke @ Harvest Ranch first, since they're far more likelier to have more exotic, gourmet items available. Basically, I like to come here to do a little bit of food exploring as they have interesting, gourmet items (esp. packaged foods like sauces, snacks, etc) that are not usually available at standard grocery stores. I like to drop by here to get inspired when I'm stuck in a food rut and want to make/try something interesting. I have enjoyed items from their bakery, deli and meat department. However, it's not my first or preferred choice. *For meat and most produce, I prefer Jimbo's (Jimbo's carries more local/organic veggies and free range/organic meats). * They do have delicious sandwiches. However, less vegetarian options (I'm not vegetarian but boy do I love my veggies, and Jimbo's deli has tons of veggie options, so Jimbo's gets higher marks). * Their bakery is decent, but for the price, I'd rather head over to Champagne Bakery next door and have my pastries there. Decent beer and good wine selection. Staff is very attentive and the store is always impeccable. The shopping experience has always been lovely here.

Yelp
One of the few places you'll find pomegranate molasses, a key ingredient of certain middle-eastern recipes.
