The Ultimate Soups of South Jersey | Eater Philly

"Harvest Seasonal Grill & Wine Bar offers menu items created with fresh, seasonal ingredients, such as the butternut squash soup. This savory soup features butternut squash, toasted pumpkin seeds, and local honey, and is the ideal start to your meal before you dive into your cedar-roasted salmon dish, local bison meatloaf, or plant-based sesame “chicken” entree." - Kristen Kwiatkowski

Google
Tried their Happy Hour menu. Very reasonable price, good quality, worth a try. +++ TUNA POKE NACHOS, not large and not many nachos, but a lot of rare tuna which made it up, taste very good ++ Beef Burger, surprisingly got medium rare without asking, tender and juicy, very good ++ Crab Cake, good amount of crab meat, very good ++ Live music on Thursday, the young guitarist was very good with a nice voice + NEW ENGLAND LOBSTER ROLL, small and little lobster meat, good, the plus is for the low price + Nice decoration and atmosphere. + The happy hour menu was extensive with good varieties - Sat at the bar, the service was good but not very warm - The sliders are just a little too small, hope they can be bigger

Google
This was one of the most disappointing dining experiences I've ever had. The creativity of the menu item descriptions does not translate to the plate. The food was extremely boring and under-seasoned. It also was not very fresh. The chicken that came in a cup for me to put in my lettuce wraps was so obviously microwaved (microwaved chicken has such a distinct smell) and it tasted like it. When my main chicken entree came, while it was cooked well, it was under salted and had almost no other flavor to speak of. The accompanying vegetables were sad and deflated and also a very inconsistent temperature. My wife also did not enjoy anything that she had there. The service and atmosphere are reasonably nice but the food is a complete waste of money and calories. We asked for no cheese on my wife's salad and it was served with cheese. To be clear: we did not even find value in finishing our food. We only ate about a quarter of it before deciding to pay the bi and leave. While it isn't necessarily a comparable "experience", I'd have much preferred to get CAVA right nearby it. We would not return. I'm posting pictures, however I almost feel like my pictures are deceptive because the food looks like it might be good. I can assure you, it is not.

Google
10/10. We chose outdoor dining, it was such a perfect evening. Our waiter was so sweet, and the food was nothing less than perfect. Always get the season hummus, and it never disappoints. First time at this location, and will be back! ✨

Google
We brought our moms here for mothers day. Wow! Super impressed with the quality of the food and fair prices. Atmosphere is open. Service was a little slow and they forgot an apetizer but the food was worth the wait. Gluten free options were good!

Google
We sat at the bar and had one of the best dining experiences we've had in a long time! The service was warm and attentive, but the real star was the food — absolutely phenomenal. Every bite had us looking at each other in disbelief — it was that good. I had the Harvest Bowl and I’m still thinking about it… the flavors were fresh, vibrant, and perfectly balanced. The ingredients are so fresh, and the menu is beyond creative — not your typical restaurant fare at all. It’s clear they put real thought and care into every dish. We also got to take advantage of happy hour at the bar, which was such a nice bonus. We were staying next door and feel so lucky we stumbled across this place. Honestly, I wish I lived closer — I’d be here all the time. If you're anywhere near Lancaster, do yourself a favor and go. This place is unforgettable!

Google
Some of the best service I have ever received, our waitress was personable, kind, and gave amazing recommendations. The atmosphere was dark and moody like I like and the food was fresh and light but still a respectable portion size. I am definitely coming back!

Joe Meluskey

Google
It’s good, menu is updated seasonally but it’s only ok. Not quite fine dining and service is a little suspect Procedures of serving across and behind patrons needs to be adjusted. If you’re eating at the bar, please walk around bar instead of the patron leaning back having to move and figure it out. Mixed drinks are good and wine list is good and the porch is pleasant. Place is good, just could be a little better

Google
The sesame chicken 🐔 bowl was really delicious with accompaniments of several peppers, pineapple, snap peas, grains, spinach and sesame sauce. In fact it was so good and hearty I could only eat 1/2 the bowl and shared it with my husband. He got Korean bbq beef and the beef some pieces were a little tougher than he wouldn’t like and he said it was a little more heat then he preferred but that’s just his opinion someone else might like the spice. Overall we would definitely come back as we enjoyed the fresh food, veggies and the better healthier choices as we are trying to adapt to a healthier lifestyle

Yelp
We stopped in for a light lunch. The garden vegetable soup was seasoned perfectly and an ample portion was served. I had the beet salad which had an attractive presentation and tasted amazing. Our server was very attentive, personable and efficient. She welcomed us, asked all the right questions and thanked us for visiting. I would recommend this location to anyone and everyone!!

Yelp
You are able to make reservations at this restaurant, which is nice. Our server was friendly and notified us of their new summer menu. Their peach green tea arnold palmer is very refreshing and good - highly recommend. The potstickers are okay, not authentic but satisfy a dumpling craving. The flatbread is super thin and I liked the flavour of the tomato sauce. Note, there is a $3 up charge to change the side to fries for the burger.

Yelp
Burrata Appetizer was wonderful! My wife had a very delicious Sesame Chicken dish and I had what had to be the worst eggplant parmesan of my life. Picture a 1/2" slice of raw eggplant deep fried just until the egg coating browned. The inside was virtually raw. The pasta side looked like it sat in a serving tray for a week. Sauce is not supposed to be almost brown. Very hit or miss.

Yelp
Overdue review from post F&M graduation late lunch/early dinner. The food was just ok - overall the food lacked flavor, nothing to really rave about here. Our server was lovely, the space is large and clean and comfortable but we probably wouldn't come back, opting instead to try something new.

Yelp
Imagine a chilis but with fresh food. I'm glad there's tons of local and fresh food but holy cow, everything was so bland. I want to come here and gift them a spice rack. Its ok. Nothing more. I'd come here again for a salad, but nothing that's actually cooked.
google avatar

Kerry T.

Yelp
I came here to use my monthly Resy credit through an Amex credit card. However, I did not get the Amex credit since the credit card transaction details contains a residential address in West Chester, PA, not Lancaster, PA. The food and drinks were excellent and I'll likely come back again, but just beware if you're coming here solely to use a Resy credit.

Yelp
Really great menu options and I loved how many things are under 500 calories--great for people trying to be on a fitness journey but still want to eat out! Everyone in our group really liked their meals, from the flatbread, the salmon BLT, the black bean bowl, and the burger. Service wasn't the most attentive but overall, a great tasty option especially for those trying to make healthy dining choices.

Yelp
My parents and I came here for my dad's birthday. We ordered mostly side dishes (lol) and two flatbreads because the other menu items didn't intrigue us, but we're very happy with what we ordered! We ate veggies, mac & cheese, and flatbreads family-style, and got to taste of everything in nice proportions of some very healthy dishes. Some dishes were more oily than we'd like, but it wasn't half bad. Our waiter even gave my dad a free birthday dessert and lit a candle for him! (The dessert was too sweet, but hey, free dessert? I'm not complaining!) Overall, thank you Harvest for a lovely birthday meal for my pops :) He loved it!

Yelp
Returned for the first time in a little and was far more pleased. We did a sample of several apps all of which were very good! Service was fantastic as expected from previous trips. Overall much better experience than my last trip.
google avatar

Kera L.

Yelp
The food was decent but needed more seasoning. The ambiance was pleasant, and our waitress kindly accommodated my request for scrambled eggs, which were not listed on the menu. I'd go back again to try something new.

Yelp
10/10 experience. We came to celebrate closing on our home and brought our dog and we were able to sit outside with no issues. The drinks were phenomenal and the food was exquisite. It's a farm to table restaurant with delicious flavors. Our server was very helpful and kind. Can't wait to go back!

Yelp
Ambiance: Open, clean modern, comfortable. Seating: Indoor/outdoor. Service: Bartender and waitresses are SUPER friendly and helpful. A+ Crowd: Mixed. Drinks: Good beer. Food: Mom loved the crab cake sandwich! Food is good. Restrooms: Clean. Parking: Parking lot. Value: Good. Experience: I like this place for the friendly staff, good beer/food and atmosphere. Mom loves it here (she is picky); also a great place to take dates. ;-) Bartender remembered us and came up to say hello; she even remembered the beer we had a week prior! Class act. Manager on duty was also open to feedback; he was helping his staff and not just standing around - good stuff!

Yelp
Tried this restaurant for the first time and really enjoyed it. Reservations a plus. Service was good. Food was flavorful and calorie conscious. We got the pork bbq flatbread was enough to have as a stand alone. The steak wedge was also very good.
google avatar

Chrysi K.

Yelp
Not good. Go somewhere else. The salad was ok Modern Greek salad but the seasonal soup was lukewarm and the entrees were dissatisfying and flavorless. Not a good experience and the modern take lacks love. House wine was very good I recommend the Merlot

Yelp
Sorry for the short review, we ordered the Butternut Squash soup, which words can't express, yummy, also had the Brussels Sprouts, Mashed Sweet Potatoes, Shrimp Flatbread, and lastly topped it off with a Pineapple Upside-Down Martini. Everything was very delicious. Highly recommended!

Daniel D.

Yelp
We arrived a few minutes before they opened and were told to wait near the door. The person who brought us to the table made no effort to welcome us...robotlike he led us to the table. The waiter was friendly and communicated well. He asked us if we'd been here before and I told him I had not. He proceeded to explain the concept and the fact that they were farm to table and 85% of what they used came from local farmers.

Yelp
First time here on July 4. Open on July 4, so I appreciate that! Place was very busy also. Super nice ambiance. Slightly upscale with a cozy vibe. Plenty of seating both indoors and outdoors. We were seated at a table with narrow metal chairs, which I found a bit uncomfortable. Service was excellent. Attentive, thorough, and friendly. The server asked right away if anyone had food allergies and provided options and assistance. Excellent menu. Farm to table. Menu items change depending on what is in season. We had the BLT special which was loaded with bacon. Great sourdough bread! We also had the gluten free BLT which was excellent with Naan bread. The fish tacos were excellent also. The Kung Pao cauliflower wings were not great; mushy boiled cauliflower and bland. We sent that back and they graciously took it off the bill. As a trained Chef, I would bread and crisp up the cauliflower and toss it in the sauce. Dessert was amazing. Smaller portions and approximately 6 options. Like mini sundaes. I had the orange cream tres leches. So delicious! We also had the chocolate caramel and the chocolate peanut butter. Everything delicious. What I do find strange is that they bring over ALL the deserts to your table and you take from them. Good sized portions. Great cocktail selection if you that's your thing. Easy to make reservations online. Great place. Will be back!

Yelp
Been a few years, since we don't live in Lancaster, but I made a holiday Saturday lunch reservation in December for 8 & our lunch was excellent. Our server was very efficient. We all enjoyed our meals: margarita flatbread, pear & bleu flatbread, Caesar salad, chicken sandwich, Harvest salad, shrimp piccata special with linguine & huge shrimp. Iced tea refilled without asking. Our table was ready upon arrival. They had the Christmas tree up & the fireplace going. We were too full for dessert. Parking can get tricky at this busy shopping plaza so arrive early.

Yelp
Went here on a local recommendation- it was terrific! The food was so tasty! We had appetizers & entrees, most of which the waitress recommended. One of us has food allergies, which were handled so well. The lighting and music were subtle enough for us to enjoy our company, without being overwhelmed by the setting. Seasonal menu and local 'farm-to-table' worked so well. We'll definitely come back when we're nearby.

Yelp
Food not very good for the price. Scallop/Shrimp risotto dish made wife sick and she had to spent the rest of the afternoon in the rest room. Beet salad, drenched in creamy dressing. Eggs benedict/potatoes dish ..eh ! Potatoes were barely warm, eggs not poached correctly. No bread served with risotto dish. Terrific server, lovely atmosphere, $85 plus tip (no alcohol) . WOW !!!! Very reminiscent of a bonefish grill restaurant that wants to be fancy, but isn't !!!

Adrienne L.

Yelp
Went to the bar intending to order food to go. I sat at the bar with only 3 other customers already seated with drinks. It took about 3 minutes for the male bartender to notice me sitting about 7 feet away while he was engaged in a conversation with friends, by that time the other bartender greeted me and offered me a menu. We waited with a menu in front of us for over 5 minutes with no one acknowledging us any further. This occurred at 5:30 pm on a Sunday.

Yelp
Excellent Food! Excellent Service!! Red Snapper was fantastic. My husband had the eggplant. Delicious. We didn't care for the artichoke dip. But the hummus was very good,

Debra P.

Yelp
Food was fresh and artfully prepared. Our group of six loved it. Will return when back in Lancaster.

Yelp
So happy to have found this spot! Excellent cocktails, delicious plant-based brunch options, and fantastic service. A must-visit!"

John B.

Yelp
Food was good but holy smokes was the service comically slow. All 3 filets were undercooked. Do any chefs know about letting the steaks rest. They throw them on the plate and rush it out because they are so backed up. 325 for 5 adults.
google avatar

Jeff W.

Yelp
Food is always first rate here and the servers are all so nice. Place is always busy. Great outdoor seating!
google avatar

Stefan S.

Yelp
I absolutely loved this place! The vibes are POPPING OFF into another realm with the comfortable restraint and bar stylings we all know. Think Applebees, but elevated with more energy and a healthier, ethically sourced menu. The service was outstanding, with great recommendations from our server! We tried the cauliflower wings and they were delicious, crispy, but didn't have the same guilt of eating one too many chicken wings. I will definitely come back if I'm in the area again!
google avatar

Yelp
Our friends recommended that we try Harvest on Fruitville Pike. Wow! It was great. We had reservations for 6 pm. We ate in the private dining area. We were given time to pick wines. The service was super. The food from a varied menu was great. The s.all desserts were tasty and filling. We will returna

Yelp
It's very pretty inside. The food was ok but nothing special. They do have a lot of vegan options but It was pretty expensive
google avatar

Amanda R.

Yelp
Amazing food and service! Seriously outstanding. I can't say enough positive things about Harvest. Even the salad was phenomenal. We both had the risotto and it was AMAZING!!! If in Lancaster, go to eat at Harvest!
google avatar

Yelp
Drinks are amazing! The service is exceptional. Great environment. Outstanding entrees. 10/10 would go again!

Yelp
Harvest has been our go-to date spot for years due to the variety of gluten-free, vegan, and organic options, and the thoughtful wine and cocktail selection. This time I ordered the butternut squash soup and the Korean fried grain bowl with salmon. I wouldn't recommend salmon on that particular grain bowl, but I've had it with tofu and liked it, and you basically can't go to harvest and not try the butternut squash soup--it's amazing. We like Harvest's upscale atmosphere with low lighting and natural elements--though, if you want true ambiance and comfortable seating at the Lancaster location, ask for a booth inside. The covered patio is cute, but only worth it in the summer when they open it to the breeze: the chairs are hard, and the windows give views of the Target parking lot. Parking was ample though the parking lot is behind the building and we have to walk around to the main entrance. Normally I don't care, but it was COLD. Next time I'll have my husband drop me off. We made reservations in a pinch on open table, though they seated us a bit later than our reservation time. However the service was prompt once we were seated, and the chef even came out when I wasn't eating much of my grain bowl to ask if everything was okay and if I needed a box. We got the dessert special which was a chocolate ganache cake and I'm not kidding when I tell you it's the best cake I've ever had. Our bill was close to $200, but we got two rounds of drinks, apps, and dessert. We've kept it closer to $100 in the past. Overall we will keep coming to harvest for our special date nights due to the consistency of great menu options and food that leaves us feeling nourished rather than bloated and guilty.

Jenn P.

Yelp
If you are looking for a good dinner, or a good lunch w/ friends or co-workers, this is a great place. We were looking for something a little more upscale for an anniversary dinner, so perhaps our expectations were part of the rating here. The dinner was okay. My husband loved his steak, and said it was cooked very well. I got a special, that was basically eggplant parm. It was okay. Nothing bad... just nothing exceptional here. Well, one exceptional thing is a a LOT of options for vegetarians. That was a treat.
google avatar

Jeanne M.

Yelp
Lunch menu was perfect for our group of 10. There was something on the menu for everyone. Born in Baltimore, live in Orlando and hesitate to order the crab cake... I got the chicken sesame, delicious. Three of my cousins got the crab cake sandwich and LOVED the dish. The tags on each dish identified what was vegan, gluten free, or 500 calories.
google avatar

Letisha W.

Yelp
Reservation made on line, prompt. Ambience low lighting, modern hip. Indoor and outdoor seating. Server friendly and attentive. Nice selection of mocktails. We tried the lavender lemon spritzer and the blackberry refresher. The blackberry refresher was way better tho both were very good. Appetizer came out promptly. Pork Potstickers on a tamarind sauce. Light, clean tasting delicious. Kids menu is actually really Awesome!! Flank steak, burgers, salmon, Mac n cheese, naan! This is a great NICE family restaurant! We are here on vacation and this is a must hit for a good meal. It is on the higher priced end of food but, it's great service, ambience and farm to table food. Be back with more.... Waiting for main courses ;) Okay, the food came out as appetizers were done. The timing was good. The kids sliders were fabulous! Probably the best sliders for a kids menu I have ever tasted, keeping in mind I like clean food. The steak fries crispy on the outside and soft on the inside with NO heavy oils or grease. It was soo good, I ordered an extra side of fries for the entire table. The applesauce tasted fresh but it was too sweet for us. I wondered if the chef added sugar to it? For us and that type of fare, I would not have added any or just a little. If there was no added sugar, I would have been very surprised. It was very sweet for apples. The adult burger was delicious! Probably the best simple burger I have ever tasted. It was cooked perfectly medium as requested and lightly seasoned which did the beef justice because it's natural flavors were able to be tasted. The side Mac and Cheese was a little disappointing. While it tasted like fresh quality ingredients, it tasted like it has no seasoning or salt. For an adult menu, it would have been better with some salt and pepper or even a seasoned bread crusted bread crumb topping. What was served was delicious but tasted like it was for a kids pallet or a bland palette. Less seasoning to taste the natural ingredients of each dish is great, but the Mac n cheese as a side needed a little pop to it for me. It was still delicious tho. I would order it again but added my own salt and freshly ground pepper. The wild mushroom enchiladas were delicious!! The mushrooms were meaty, had depth of flavor and were overall great for a meatless enchilada :) The pickled cabbage crunchy, lightly tangy and the black beans and rice with avocado dressing speaks for itself. The star was definitely the mushrooms as it should have been. The white rice was a little over cooked for me and a generous portion. By the end of this meal, what was left back was a handful of plain white rice. I would have done less rice and it needed to be cooked in a way that didn't yield it being sticky OR a add more side components ti eat with the left over rice. Overall, I would order it again. Okay we were stuffed but, the food was soo good we had to try dessert. I really wanted the banana cream pie dish BUT, the key lime and peanut butter chocolate dishes won out at our table and it didn't disappoint. All the desserts were rich and creamy. We, a family of four, split two. For me personally, as I don't do much sugar I would have wanted them all less sweet but I know I'm in the minority with that. My family enjoyed it all. Not a drop was left back for the dessert. I was still left curious about the banana creme pie dish but, I was just too stuffed. This is a family must for anyone passing thru :-) I just read some of the poor reviews regarding the food and I think if you're used to eating an abundance of crap quality ingredients food, smothered in seasoning or grease for a cheap price, you will be disappointed. This did taste farm to table fresh. Smaller portions for a higher price but it's post pandemic people. Everything is more expensive. I found the dishes competitively priced for fresh ingredients and nice atmosphere. Fresh doesn't mean bland but, you also don't want anything over seasoned to lose the taste of real ingredients. My server was friendly and accommodating. Lancatser is a small town with a personal down to earth vibe. That's been reflected in all the places we have eaten.

Yelp
Upon this most recent visit, had the modern Greek salad and cauliflower wings and Chilean sea bass. The Chilean sea bass was very good flavor and not bland as sea bass can be if not prepared correctly. The cauliflower and greek salad were not a favorite due to the texture of cauliflower was almost mushy. The chick peas and the kale like veggie was very distinctly strong almost a musty like taste. The pear sangria was delicious and apple cider rum was good but not paired with the dishes mentioned.

Tara C.

Yelp
Excellent seasonal menu. Prices competitive to other similar establishments. Service is terrific.

Yelp
The food and service is what you would expect from a chain restaurant. The decor is very nice as is the patio area- sunny and bright. But the food is average at best. Cauliflower appetizer was very salty. Could only eat a few pieces before I felt it was enough. My meal, Cuban bowl, was small bowl luke warm rice and beans (which certainly tasted liked canned beans) with a scoop of guacamole and pickled onion...I think it was onion. Very unfulfilling and ordinary, and not hot. The other issue was the lack of service. Our waiter was very nice but would disappear for long lengths of time. We sat unattended for a very long time as bus boy and other waiters passed by without looking in our direction. Finally had to get up and get someone to attend to us. And they were no where near crowded. This could be a fantastic spot. But, this will be my last harvest at Harvest.

Yelp
I love how they source from local farms and their seasonal menus are always so good! Our server was great too. Definitely recommend!

Yelp
Nice ambiance. The menu looks very similar to Seasons 52. They have same kind of foods like flatbreads, fish dishes like cedar salmon and rainbow trout and desserts in a tiny cups. I loved my salad. It was refreshing and we also loved the fresh hot biscuits with butter. I loved my spicy noodle that came out hot. It had five or six big pieces of juicy shrimp. But I only give a three stars bc the vegetables in my dish was thawed veggies. The broccoli was not crunchy but soggy. The peppers and edamame were fine. The flavor was very yummy but for $28, I expected better quality of vegetables and not thawed veggies from the freezer. Hubby had the cold miso soy noodles. He added scallops for $16 and two scallops showed up on his plate. Yes the scallops were cooked well. They were charred on the outside and tender. But seriously charging $8/scallop was a bit much. So know that you are getting two scallops for $16. The dessert was yummy. I had the peanut butter cream cake. Overall I would give it 3 1/2 stars. If a few things were different, I would give it a five stars.

Yelp
Great space in an upscale type of outdoor mall. The hostesses were all pleasant. The waitress was attentive and happy to be there. Greek salad, chicken soup, filet minion, Brussels sprouts... All great. French fries.... Not the best we have had but nothing that would prevent us from coming back. Overall positive experience.
google avatar

Yasmin B.

Yelp
Wonderful options of vegan and gluten free items. Their food is seasonal and farm to table which makes it extra special. Everything we ordered was delicious. The fries were a big dry though so not my favorite but the hummus with the gluten free pita, gluten free burger buns were really good and the mock tails were delicious. We found it to be reasonably priced too for what we got. Definitely a great find!

Melinda J.

Yelp
This is my husband's and my favorite restaurant in Lancaster, PA. We are never disappointed with anything when we go there. The food is so fresh and healthy too! The service is impeccable. The decor inside and out is so inviting. We love that they change up the menus to have the best foods of the seasons. 10 out of 10 definitely

Yelp
We stopped in to redeem our savings card we had. My wife had the plank grilled salmon and I had the New York strip steak. Both meals were incredible as always. I loved the chunks of bacon and sautéed veggies that came with the steak. We love going here as it's a nice relaxing atmosphere and the staff is great.

Yelp
I was passing through on my way up to NY and stopped to eat some delicious food that was locally sourced! I love to support small businesses who get their food from farms!! Everything was absolutely amazing! We sat outside in the sun and enjoyed the sunset! The weather was perfect and the service was great! When we're passing through again, we will definitely be back! Thanks for providing organic healthy options!

Yelp
First time there and we Sat at the bar beautiful inside food was great . A little pricey but I feel like most restaurants have gone up in price

Yelp
Friendly staff from the moment you walk through the door! Host was incredibly friendly and prompt. Server was efficient and had great recommendations. Originally looked this place up and saw how cute the place looked and it definitely was! The decor was super cute and definitely very sleek and modern and trendy. My friend and I got the bison burger and chicken club with Mac and cheese as our sides and they were amazing! Already planning to go back soon.

Yelp
This restaurant is classy and has a lot to offer! I love that their menu is farm to table and goes along with the seasons! It makes me want to come back. The food tasted wonderful and was filling. The server we had was attentive but not in an overbearing way and was very good at his job! I would highly recommend trying out this restaurant!

Tony S.

Yelp
I'll start by saying that this is a great restaurant, and that this review would have been 5 stars last year, but with the most recent menu change we noticed that portion sizes had shrunk...noticeably. So minus 1 star for value. Other than that, the food is consistently excellent.
