Harvey B's

We hadn’t had food from Harvey B’s in a long time and it sounded so good to us. I called to place the order and was put on hold for over five minutes, then was hung up on. I called right back and was sent to answering with a full mailbox. Then called again and no one picked up. So I ordered online, a BBQ bacon burger and a Chili burger, Jalapeno Poppers and tots. Two of the poppers were so small hubby mistook them for tots. I tasted one and didn’t finish it. Not good. Husband got order and brought it home and both of our buns were burned and my burger patty was burned, dried out, and tough enough that I had trouble cutting it with a sharp knife. I ate less than half and was done. Hubby didn’t eat it all either and threw it away. The original owner must have sold this place because it was soo good but now it is abysmal. We are not going back. Awful!

This is a great favorful burger it's always hot & fresh 1/2 lb bacon burger, Bacon blue cheese burger and cheese fries! SORRY DIDN'T GET A PIC OF THE FRIES!

The food is amazing! The double bacon jalapeño burger I ordered was huge, delicious and hot even after my 15 min drive home. I also ordered the chili cheese fries with the cheese sauce! I highly recommend especially if your in the mood for a big juicy burger

We have eaten here for years since moving to Dallas. THE best place for beef burgers, fried chicken sandwiches and veggie burgers. I had the fried chicken salad today and it was awesome - with a fried egg on the top - and lots of fresh crispy real chicken !! Harvey B's is the BEST!

Tried Harvey B's for the first time today with my dad :) absolutely amazing burgers!!!! the customer service was also really great. it's a pretty small space inside but there are still places to sit and eat there. this place is definitely worth a try if you want a huge, delicious, burger with fast and friendly service! if I'm ever in the area I will definitely return.

One of the BEST burgers Ive Ever had in Dallas!!! NEVER EVER disappoints! Plenty of parking. Everyone always nice friendly, polite, and accommodating. I LOVE Harvey B's! If they start delivering, Id eat there alm everyday!

Not bad. Be aware that the spiral potatoes are more like chips than fries. Also wish there had been more cheese. Staff was very nice.

What a wonderful find! This place isn't in the most savory side of town but it houses some of the best burgers you will ever eat. Walked in and was greeted by a friendly and personable young man behind the counter. He quickly explained the ins and outs of the menu and put us all at ease. Behind him you could see the kitchen staff at work making old school burgers. Nothing fancy, just good ingredients put together with care and passion. He recommended their onion rings and they were divine, crispy, battered not breaded and full of flavor. The burgers were made to order, juicy, hot and delicious. Drinks include craft options and the strawberry lemonade was spot on. The only downside of this place was a lack of seating but that was minimal given the goods.

*** update** the owner called me and rectified this by providing me a full refund. I appreciate their customer service and getting this matter rectified. EMPLOYEES TIPPED THEMSELVES I went here yesterday for the first time. I ordered online to pick up in store. They do not give you the option to pay online, so you have to pay in store. I ordered a mushroom Swiss burger and chicken strips. The food was good, but this morning I got a notification from my bank that my total here had been updated. The lady behind the counter tipped herself 30% which I did not consent to. After reading other reviews, this is not the first time this has happened. Stealing from customers is bad business. I would be cautious of paying with a card at this establishment

We decided to give this place a shot because I am from the neighborhood but the seating situation caught us off guard. I certainly didn't want to balance a burger on my lap or eat in the car. The other patrons shot us disapproving glances, as if to say, "Don't even think about sitting near us." However, beyond this hiccup, there's potential here. The food looks promising, and I have a friend who swears by it. As for those reviews labeling it a "rough part of town," I call BS. This neighborhood is our home--it might lack flashy new buildings and it doesn't look like Disneyland, but there's nothing inherently wrong with it. Sometimes the best places aren't the fanciest; they're the ones where you feel a sense of belonging.

Harvey Bs has been on my Hamburger hit list for several years now. It meets all my criteria(supported by Yelp reviews) of an old-school, hole-in-the-wall, delicious burger value. Simply stated it's a 4-star experience given those parameters. This is old east Dallas at the edge of gentrification. But,the foofoo hasnt caught up yet so, id say this is still explorers' territory. Your kids and wife driving in with you from North Dallas probably aren't going to find the charm that you do. But let's get down to the burger business. The place has years of patina on it. The M and M vending machine hasn't been used in decades but its still sitting there(turned around so no one uses it). I like that its still there. The place has the usual ephemera for a genuine hole in the wall. Random signs pulled from a strip club, mailbox made into a bird house...etc It's small and id say mainly takeout. There are about 6 counter spaces looking out the front window. I sat here as to breathe the air, watch the clientele and catch the full experience. These places are disappearing as fast as an Ice Cube in the August heat and I want to visit as many as possible before they're extinct. The small kitchen behind the register with an old flat top,some fryolator etc. Just the basics you need to sling some cheeseburgers. I ordered a double meat cheeseburger all the way which meant 2 1/4 lb patties,lettuce, tomato, onions, pickles lettuce, and mustard. I ask if the french fries were frozen or fresh. He said fresh so I got an order. I read a few reviews as I waited on my food and a common comment from a substantial number was over cooked meat. Guess what,yes,my meat was overcooked and a little dry and not as much flavor as i thought it should have. That one fact kept them out of five star territory and almost dropped them to 3. I mean if you are a burger place bring it right? The fries where good but id opt for the onion rings next time. Why? Because on my way out I was tipping and thanking them and noticed 2 big delicious batches of rings going down. This is a place you aren't going to just notice and stop. In this part of town, you have to be headed there. Id say if you love hamburgers and are adventurous, check it out. I may give it another shot, if im in the area hungry.

Harvey B's! Found this place on a quick search since I was down the street , and it seemed like it was worth the try. Located in East Dallas across the street from egg roll hut and 7 eleven . Harvey B's was worth the time and the money. Came here during lunch and it had minimal traffic . I chose the Double 1/4 burger with cheese , french fries and a drink. Order process was quick and simple. Menu had a ton of options . You can see the cook in the back making all the orders so there's plenty of transparency. I got mine with all the fixings and got a strawberry lemonade which was pretty refreshing. Almost tasted like kool aid . I must say that the burger was absolutely scrumptious and the size was very filling. This , my dear reader, is a hidden gem and 10/10 would recommend. You can tell this place has been around for quite some time and the authenticity is unmatched. Small dining area but still who cares when the food is so good. Fries were salted evenly and cut to your average size proportions . Wait time was 10 minutes or less and the prices weren't too bad either. Definitely will be back!

The burger was great, and the service was perfect. No waiting when we got there. Mexican Cane Sugar Cike on the fountaing.

Wow. The food is great but the service and hospitality are WAY better!! We stopped by on a Saturday afternoon for lunch and had a great time. While waiting we decided to change our order from takeout to dine in because the staff was just so friendly and inviting! I got the 1/2 lb burger with bacon, cheese, and jalapeños. My son got a 1/4 lb with cheese. They originally forgot the cheese on my sons but the team was so friendly and nice and they quickly got him cheese! AND instead of just putting some cheese on it, they even reheated it so it would be melted. The gentleman that was working the register was so hospitable and nice that I have to give him a shoutout. His son showed up while we were eating and he was glowing with pride while hooking him up with a Frito pie -- which looked delicious by the way!

The neighborhood is definitely a little rough. But once inside the employees are lovely! The burgers are good. The tots are great. The old East Dallas flair on the wall is fun!

Food was a 10/10, their burgers was fresh. The ingredients was fresh. I added jalapeños and I like them. I wish they were cooked a little more to have a little more softness or pickled taste. The onion rings was very crispy and seasoned and it wasn't too thick with batter or too thick of an onion which I loved. The service was on point they asked if I needed anything. He gave me a ranch for free , which they charge for which is super nice of them. I ate my food so fast I forgot to take a picture lol, I would definitely go here again!!

After visiting the JFK memorial and Sixth Floor Museum, the family and I were looking for a local, off-the-beaten path lunch stop and this fit the bill. The seating is limited, but the smells were amazing from the second we walked it. I went with the 1/2 lb Cheeseburger & a side of Old School (fries). My wife got a 1/4 lb with Onion Rings. Delicious. I was leaning to a 4-star rating, but my son insisted it was 5! So a 5 it is!

Go get chu some and FAST! Customer service is a 10/10, the gentleman were so kind and willing to make me exactly what I had envisioned. It is hard to find a good pastrami burger. Disclaimer pastrami burgers are not even on the menu. That is how amazing this restaurant is. They went out of their way to make what I had in vision even though it's not even on the menu. Big burger not the little one.

It's a local spot with amazing burgers, counter service. We popped in for lunch we're, in/out, food reasonable priced. Portions were pretty big.

Great service! Was looking for a mom and pop burger spot in town while visiting and I stumbled on Harvey B's. I could smell the before I entered the door. We were greeted immediately and given recommendations on the menu. I'll definitely stop by every time I'm in town.

I think harveys is up there next to Maple motor and hunkies. Between these three, these are the best fast food burger spots. In my opinion. The burgers are always good here they got grilled onions grilled jalapeños. They have a quarter pounder and a half a pounder for when you're hungry . I've never really cared of much for them, but they also have the little spiral potato things. The only thing I really don't like from here is the fountain drinks they have no sweet tea and no unsweet tea but overall it's a good spot.

I was greeted with such respect when I walked in. The employees working there are so kind, and the service is amazing. Made me feel at home. I will definitely be going back. This place was a hit! The food was top-tier. I ordered a half pound burger, and I don't regret it. The fries were made so fresh.

Came at 6:50 PM, yelps says they are open till 7 pm. I drove 5 miles because of the reviews. Daniel, who said he was the manager, told me he has cleaned the grill. They need to go home at 7 pm. I have never heard of a place that stops selling, so the paid help can go home at closing time. I knew he was not telling me the truth because there was a woman who was served while I was sitting outside writing this. I told him I would contact the owner, and his response was I don't care." Nice employee doesn't care if he loses business for his owner. I will never return. I I would suggest not to come either. Who knows how well their food is if he treat customers this way. He was the type of guy that would spit in your food if he didn't like you. I don't know if he does, but by his attitude, I wouldn't put it past him.

Yummy burger. We go to pick up a couple times a month. The staff is friendly. Definitely recommend for a good old fashion burger. The tatter tots are yummy, too! It's just a good 'ol dive with good food.

I absolutely love this place! Who would've thought that one of the best burgers in town would be in this small little spot? My son loves their cheeseburgers and I am obsessed with their grilled chicken sandwiches. The fries are also great which can tell you a lot about a place. If you're ever in the area and want a quick bite to eat, that's not McDonald's or any other fast food chain try it out. I would highly recommend this place.

Damn good burger! Have driven by here for the past 4 months and never noticed the place but am I glad I found it Staff was fantastic! Friendly and helpful. Burger was awesome. This place states they close at 7pm walked in to restaurant at 6:30pm and stated they are close but had the door open. They need to update operating hours if they close earlier than 7pm.

Visited Harvey B's yesterday as a recommendation on Google for food places near Fair Park area. I was attended an event at the Music Hall and wanted to eat before the event. The food was good, I ordered a cheeseburger with twister potatoes and old school fries. The burger was well cooked and juicy. The twister potatoes and fries were both seasoned well. I do wish the venue had more space for dine in. There a place for a most 6 people to sit inside apart from each other.

Good burger, good salad, well priced. Definitely a take out place with little atmosphere versus a sit down restaurant, but bathroom was clean and staff was very nice and helpful

My son and I just ate at this hole in the wall burger joint, hands down best burger in Dallas! We have been looking for a burger place that actually charbroils their meat I.e. these burgers are legit and full of flavor! We saw them hand rolling fresh ground beef so NO they aren't frozen Patti's. They are fresh and cooked to order, the fries and onion rings are the bomb, tasty and not greasy! Daniel took our order, this guy is full of personality, accommodating, polite and a great face person for this establishment. The burgers and service were excellent, I ordered a burger to go after eating so my wife could try at home. You all are awesome, thanks Daniel, so glad we found your place. We be back brother!

10/10! Food was soooo good! My teammates and I ordered online to-go and it was ready on time! I had a 1/4 bacon cheeseburger and it definitely tasted like a homemade hamburger. The staff was really nice and everything was fresh. I WILL be coming back.

I came here on a Sunday afternoon and it was not busy. This is a small establishment with a limited seating area inside, but it is a fine neighborhood joint to grab some food. The menu had quite a few offerings for either fried or grilled items. I came here for the burger only. I ordered the standard and the price was reasonable at $6.25. My food was brought out in a short period of time. I enjoyed the burger and like the name, it was standard. Just a good solid burger worth the rating of three stars. The other members of my party were satisfied as well with there food. I would return if I were in the area to enjoy another burger.

Food was good, service was 5+ stars for sure. If you are picky about cleanliness this probably isn't the place for you but I will definitely be coming back.

Had a double 1/4 pound hamburger, all the way, with fries. It was everything I hoped it would be- delicious. Customer service was awesome, I genuinely liked the guy behind the register. He was attentive, easy going, and I could tell that he was wanting us to enjoy our experience and burgers. Super good burger restaurant that everyone should give a try. There's a reason it's rated so well!

Harvey B's is the type of place alot of people aspire to find in big cities. When I pulled up they had a speaker outside playing some great song & I knew this one was a good one. Walking in I could tell EAST DALLAS was where I was at and the staff. The staff was excellent with helping me with everything on the menu, recommendations, great convo and just a great vibe in Harvey B's. I got the patty melt which started at the toast with melted butter & nice crisp. Meat was 1/2LB with cheese melted just right at the point every burger chef looks for. My cook was Maria & she was nice with it. Onion rings were made that morning and let me tell you the crunch on that ring was what I thought it was going to be...EXCELENT with the matching seasoning & then I finished it with a chili cheese dog that was overflowing with chili & cheese. They put it on a hamburger bun which was odd but it worked and was delicious... Definetely get the onion rings and any burger here is going to be delicious... Gotta stop & try this one out.... BURGER MAN....OUT!!!

This place is a must stop burger spot if you're in the East Dallas area.. It's for me.. Tuesday 6.99 Burger, drink, and fries can't beat that with a stick . I also took advantage of the $1.99 Grilled cheese deal as well. Customer service is top notch as always

Comfy old school East Dallas hole in the wall burger joint. People were super nice. The food was reasonably priced and tasted great.

Real charbroil burgers here folks! Onion Rings are very good. I wish there was a larger seating area so that you could eat these great tasting burgers right away. Service was friendly and genuine. Looking forward to returning and trying other menu items.

Ambience there is none it's a walk in restaurant you walk you get your food and walk out your ambience is that your home? Enjoy it food is the bomb the burgers on second to none and fat as Albert. The service is pretty damn good they very helpful informative, and sometimes even comical. I like this place and I get my food at his place now I don't really like cheese fries but my friends do so kudos to him. I like the onion rings because they're big brown and onion.

the gentleman who took our order was super friendly. we had the 1/2 swiss mushroom and blue cheese. the bread was delicious. i recommend the spiral fries. the pandora tejano music mix was fun. there isn't a lot of space to sit down and eat.

I was searching for a delicious burger and found it! I arrived right when they were about to close early and would not have been upset if they turned me away but one of the staff told me to come on in. They made me a delicious hot burger and fries. I walked away happy after having been driving around for a little bit looking for some good food. I will be going back!

We had been planning to check this place out so many times .Today is the day. We ordered the blue cheese 1/2 lb burger and the fried chicken sandwich. They are delicious. The burger patty is full of charcoal grill flavor, very nice touch with blue cheese. The fried chicken tastes very fresh and crunchy with avocado I am so happy with every single calorie putting in my body.

Best customer service I've had all year!!! The man at the front (has tattoos everywhere) IS SO NICE!!! Best customer service and best recommendations ever. He even asked if we needed anything while we were eating. Food was so fresh. I love coming here

Still one of the best burgers in East Dallas. Totally old school, nothing fancy, but perfect. And the homemade onion rings are some of the best around. But seriously, they need to get their gift card situation under control. I bought a $20 card for a friend, he tried to use it, it "wasn't activated". I took it back, and fortunately, the lady remembered me buying it or I would have probably been out of luck. Fast forward one year, a friend gives me a $20 card for my birthday. I used it once with no problem, leaving about $7 still on it. Try to use the balance a few months later, guy swipes it, "not activated". WTF? It happens once, I get it. New system, new employee, etc. But twice? They're just stealing money at this point.

My sister works downtown. She called recently to place a family order and told offering take out only during COVID. No problem! Looking out for all of us is responsible and highly respected. Again, if you want a good burger this is your spot. :D Ask for jalapeños and caramelized onions. So yummmmmmm!

If you're looking for great takeout burgers, this is your place. There's a small bar with about 6 place settings, so takeout is the main eating modality. The burgers are chargrilled and have a great texture and flavor. 1/2 lb of meat, fresh veggies and toasted bun goodness. Very juicy and not greasy. I tried the standard with cheese and was very impressed. They have other burgers as well and we will be back to try them. The onion rings are some of the best I've ever had. Have some with ranch dressing and you will be in heaven. Service was prompt and friendly.

My go to spot in East Dallas. Another hole in the wall with limit seating. Don't let that fool you, the burgers are delicious and worth the drive if you're not in the area. I go for the bacon blue cheese burger it always hits the spot.

I've eaten a ton of burgers all around the country but I still enjoy an awesome Double standard I'm sorry but this is Dallas's own true to heart burger spot , I had one Saturday and had one Monday charbroiled goodness

The food and the service was amazing!!! This has been one of the best burgers I have ever had!!! The guy working the register was very nice to allll the customers who entered and ate when i was there. He even knew some by name. One customer had noooo idea what she wanted he was patiently listing different items telling her how they were made. In between customers he even came out from behind the register to check and see how I was enjoying my food. This is a small place but he made every effort to make it a great experience

Harvey B is not play! This place is legit good. & I don't even leave positive reviews on Yelp, so that's how you know I ain't even lying. This is literally a hidden gem! Also, the staff here are down to earth. Very nice ppl! You just have to come and try/see it yourself

So this place is motto is quote the best burger behind bars in quote if that gives you any indication of the type of neighborhood it is in. But I'm never one to be scared off from a good meal buy a neighborhood in fact I have found some of my best meals in some of the strangest places. I was excited to try this place it had all of the makings of a place where you get a great burger. Old run-down looks like it's been in business for several years and oh yes it is behind burglar bars! I got the bacon blue Burger. And while it was okay it was charbroiled which I loved but it was overcooked. No it was not burned but it was cooked to a level where the flavor was out of it. So the only flavors that I had was a dry Burger with blue cheese crumbles and bacon. If I returned I would definitely ask them not to cook the burger so well done. I must say though the sides were delicious. From the french fries to the spiral cut potato chips with cheese melted on them or queso your option or the onion rings they were spot-on. The chocolate milkshake was pretty decent as well.

I was digging around for one of the best burgers in DFW and stumbled across this gem. Some burgers like to camouflage themselves under a mountain of toppings to seem like a better burger than what they are, that is NOT the case with this burger. This burger is charbroiled/char-grilled and that really adds depth and richness to the meat. A modest topping selection is a good thing when you want good meat to shine and that's the case with Harvey B's. It's a no frills burger that I'll find hard to not stop and get whenever Im driving through the area. Also we shared one order of onions between the three of us and that was a mistake. The onion rings are GOOD, so get your own.
