See how a boat is built by hand. You can watch from the gallery as people work on a boat and check out the exhibits.

Exceptional craftsmanship in rustic , skilled boat building. The public is welcome to step in and observe the historically accurate portrayal of custom boat building. The shop is still being used today. This is a must see on your adventure of touring Beaufort, NC.

History of wooden boats and how they are made. Small museum but cool to see them handcrafting sea worthy vessels. During, the day time, they build models of the ships. Shows the old tools of the period and how they were used.

Interesting place to visit. Especially if you are interested in boats and boat building. Nice water views of Taylor's Creek as well.

We were there for an oyster tasting event. The event was fun and the venue was beautiful, our favorite part of which was standing outside watching the dolphins.

One of the best places to visit in the area. Depending on what is going on, you can watch people building model boats or real wooden boats. It's right across the street from the Beaufort Maritime Museum, which raffles of one of their built from scratch boats each year & is an excellent place to visit as well. Both are free and open to the public.

An amazing facility where the public can watch up close how wooden boats are built and repaired in a traditional manner. There are multiple vantage points for viewing and the staff is more than willing to answer questions and engage the visitors. Definitely a place to stop and enjoy when visiting Beaufort, NC.
