My family and I love coming to Harvey Washbangers for tasty food and great service. The burgers here are excellent - well-seasoned and on absolutely delicious bread. The Queso del Jefe is an excellent appetizer and I highly recommend doing your best to have a little left over for dipping your fries in once your entrée arrives. Other excellent appetizers include porkaholic cheese fries, hot wings, and regular chips and queso. While I enjoy the fries that are served with the Banger Burger, they also have homemade chips that you can substitute for the fries if that is more your thing. Other favorites for our family have been the hot dogs, the quesadilla, and the chorizo burger. They have rotating menu items that go along with the season, such as various hot dogs in the summer, a tailgate burger in the fall, etc., along with their regular menu. Because of this, you know you are always able to get an old favorite or try something new. They have lunch specials daily and kids eat free on Sunday evenings with the purchase of an adult meal.
I think the most important thing to note is that I have always had excellent service here. From the manager to the waitstaff, people are kind, polite, and knowledgeable. My mother and I recently dined here with my father who has advanced Alzheimer's. I went in early to explain the situation to the manager, Alex G., knowing they would be willing to accommodate us, but still wanting to give them a heads-up of the situation. The manager seated us personally and then discretely explained the situation to our waitress, Haley S. She was excellent! She still directed questions at my father and treated him like the adult he is, while understanding we would likely answer for him. She never showed annoyance or lost her patience. The manager, stopped by multiple times to make sure everything was great. I'd like to say he did this because of our circumstances, but I noticed he did that with all the tables.
Along with indoor dining, there is an outside covered patio with ceiling fans that is dog-friendly and has televisions. This means you can get your laundry done, enjoy great food, watch the game, and have your dog with you the whole time in a comfortable atmosphere.
I have never done laundry here, but have noticed they have a special board that shows your machine number with lights next to it to let you know where in the cycle your laundry is. That way, you can put in your laundry and go enjoy a meal without having to constantly go back to check on your machine. Getting in here can be a bit difficult if you are coming in northbound on Texas, so I recommend turning down Holleman and going in the back way or getting turned around to go south on Texas so you can easily turn right into the restaurant.
