The Harwood District Scores an Exciting New British Pub - Eater Dallas

"Harwood Arms, a British-style pub, will open at 2850 N. Harwood Street for dinner service on Monday, December 7. It's the ninth restaurant to open in Harwood District, alongside Happiest Hour, Mercat Bistro and Te Deseo. The menu at Harwood Arms boasts an international-meets-local approach, with classic British pub food like creamy beer cheese soup, perfectly tender London broil steaks and toasty fish and chips. The drink menu includes more than 50 beers and ciders; 40-plus bottles of whiskey, from Irish to Japanese labels; craft cocktails; and a special whiskey blend created exclusively for the pub in partnership with Makers Mark, which serves as the main ingredient in the Harwood Arms Private Select Old Fashioned cocktail. Harwood Hospitality Group also promises that the pub will "transport guests out of their ordinary day", with details like leather-covered benches, wood wainscoting to add a warm glow, and dark, cozy booths. The 4,000-square-foot space includes room to socially distance out and outdoor patio seating. Dallas's Harwood Arms is of course so-named because it's in the Harwood District, but ironically, the restaurant also shares a name with the only Michelin-starred pub in London. Harwood Arms will be open late seven nights a week, with brunch on the weekends. Hours are 4 p.m. to 2 a.m. Monday through Friday, and 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. Saturday and Sunday." - Brittanie Shey

The atmosphere deserves all the praise, very well decorated at night time, the interior has the pub feel with the wood trims and posters on the walls. Great bar and bar tender. Came in with a large group at 11pm. We’re talking about a group of 16, came looking for food after a long flight. They took us in with love and even gave us all a place to store our luggage. The food was welcomed and good choices in terms of Irish menu selects. Just the seasoning and flavors were not quite on par, that’s the only thing, maybe it was late at night, wings are a bit dry, steak could use some salt, and rice pilaf was regular rice.

First time visiting. Loved the atmosphere - such a cute place! The service was exceptional - our waitress Hayley was the best! The food was delicious. Our party had the mixed kebabs (chicken, shrimp, and beef), shepherd’s pie, and double stack burger with garlic fries. The chocolate cake is a must try - a HUGE slice and easily shareable among 2-3 people. You can also have your parking validated for free if you park in the adjacent garage. Can’t wait to return!

Came here for Easter brunch with a friend. We’re both Irish and were excited to see sausage rolls on the menu—only to be served kolaches instead, which are definitely not the same thing. Disappointed but still hopeful, I ordered the fish and chips. While the fish itself looked and tasted good, the “chips” were really just over-seasoned, thinly sliced potatoes—more like American-style chips, not the traditional thick-cut fries that should have come with the dish. Overall, a letdown.

I just had to come on here and give a review. I had my birthday dinner here (60s Beatles themed) and the staff was fabulous from beginning to end. We had such a good time - all of the food and drinks were fantastic. Can’t wait to go back and try more items on the menu. Thanks for such a wonderful night!!

Google
Harwood Arms is a great weekend pub. The vibe is awesome, the food is genuine British pub food and after 10:30 it becomes a live music venue. Great for a night out. And be sure to validate so you get 3 hours of parking free!

Google
Harwood Arms provides the vibe of an English pub in the middle of Dallas. Very cozy atmosphere with a solid selection of drinks and typical pub fare food. We were seated in front of the fireplace, which actually turned out pretty nice despite the very small table. It was pretty busy hence why were seated like that. Really fun atmosphere though, which I can see being very fun during a game day. The wallpaper towards the back was also great.

Google
BEST PLACE EVER! Happy hour fridays 11am-7pm.. 8$ drinks and bites and everything was so good! This place is hiding the BEST Reuben in Dallas by far!!!

Google
Excellent buffalo chicken sandwich and fries. Good drink list and lots of TVs to watch soccer. Friend got fish and chips and that was also very solid. Pay attention to the signs to find the best parking. Checks all the boxes for food, drink, fun pub vibe and sports viewing so definitely recommend. Server very pleasant and attentive as well.

Yelp
One of the best bars in Dallas. Great atmosphere, solid food options if you're hungry, and good craft cocktails. Come for karaoke night on Fridays or live music on Saturday night. It gets loud but there is always a good vibe, plenty of seating options and standing area. Wouldn't stray from their craft cocktail menu, but this is a great bar for the basics, and the perfect place for the start of your night out.

Absolute go to on the weekend. so fun, full of young professionals mostly, can dance on the dance floor with the live band or chill at the bar / dinner booths. service is quick. ambiance is awesome

Yelp
Went here last night because we heard it was decorated for Christmas and you bet it was! The outside looked amazing and really made you feel like you were in a different country in a pub in the snow. The inside was also decked out amazingly. 10/10 did not disappoint. Our service was great. We were on the waitlist for under the amount of time the hostess told us and and waitress was attentive and nice! When you walk in, not only are you in awe of the Christmas decorations, but of how AMAZING it smells in there. I knew instantly it was going to be a good place for dinner since it smelled so incredible. I got the Patty Melt and it was great! The fries were amazing. I'm not a fan of skinny fries but the seasoning on them was incredible. My patty welt was huge and tasted just like I was expecting. Was also very flavorful. My friend got the fish and chips and said it was great as well, and the fry "chips" were great. Presentation wise the food looked amazing as well. The reason it loses a star is for our "Christmas" drinks. We ordered a "polar bear espresso martini" off the special holiday menu and I was so excited for it to be Christmassy in some way. Sadly, there was no "polar bear" aspect to it. We saw other drinks come in fun Christmas cups etc but sadly ours did not. This was my first time getting an espresso martini and it was also just horrible. There was no cream to it whatsoever which I heard it is supposed to have. I was pretty bummed since it tasted like straight vodka and coffee which I could have made at home and spared the very steep $16. All in all, food and decoration wise, this place is amazing! Definitely come for the Christmas time. But beware of the polar bear espresso martini, as it is neither Christmassy nor enjoyable to drink.

Yelp
A very friendly neighborhood bar that has amazing food and great service. A very nice patio as well.

Yelp
Solid little pub. We were looking to get something after work. Has the ambiance of a real pub and the same interesting pub grub. Got tucked away in a nice dark booth and got some quality time talking with co-workers in a relaxed environment.

Yelp
Ambiance was great, felt like a true historic UK pub. Service was wonderful and the drinks are awesome!

Yelp
This is a giant bar close to the end of the downtown Dallas mixmaster. Definitely feels like an east coast bar in Dallas which is why my friend wanted to go for HH. I will say $6 wines is excellent for happy hour - I was shocked at the price. But it's also your average not anything to write about wine. There was a holiday party so we could only sit outside. The printed out menu isn't inclusive of all the drinks so you have to scan the QR code which was confusing to me. The staff was friendly despite the large parties. I didn't eat here so I can't attest. I guess now that I don't live in Dallas I want the fancier special bars but this great east coast vibey bar with a huge interior and exterior. Recommend for those with big parties. I was able to find street parking which was a nice surprise.

Yelp
I love this place. The drinks are stiff, the staff is amazing the crowd is always friendly and Gabby is one of the most friendly bat tenders I've ever met, plus the Shepards Pie is pretty delicious and they have a few of my favorite Tequilas, Lalo and El Tesoro!
google avatar

Melissa C.

Yelp
This place has amazing holiday decorations a must visit during the season. They have a special menu with drinks and food before 10pm. The drinks are great and in different festive mugs and glasses. This place has such a fun vibe and gets busier as the night goes on. A must stop by. The food was great!!

Yelp
Happy with service AND band AND everything. Busy bar for 25-35 crowd. Nice band keeping crowd active. Great setup for walking around bar if too full.

Yelp
In town for a long weekend staying in Uptown with midday downtime, I was looking for a lunch place in walking distance. This was a good find. Not high end, but hey I'm Irish and who ever said Irish were known for high-end food! The setting was perfect for an Irish Pub. The menu was ... Irish! I opted not to have the corned beef or stew and instead chose the beer cheddar soup for starters and salmon with Brussel sprouts for a meal. Of course, all accompanied by a pint og Guinness! The salmon and sprouts were good, but a glazed sauce on sprouts that sort of stays with you a bit afterwards. The service was attentive and not pushy. On a side note, I found out later on my son and his friends often frequent the place in evenings as good live music and of course solid drink options.
google avatar

Yelp
I love me a pub and this one did not disappoint! The place was pretty packed, but they were able to seat us right away! It was sort of loud, but that's what I would expect from a place like this! My friend and I tried a few dishes which were pretty tasty and they had a solid drink menu as well. Would definitely recommend if you want a chill night at a local pub!

Yelp
The bartenders are my fav. They always are on point and every time I come in I feel like the show Cheers. They not only are kind to me but to my coworkers. Also, late night food saves lives. I recommend this place to everyone. I even send my regulars over when we're closing It's Irish-American and the fish & chips + the side of Mac n cheese. Brooooo it's sooooo good

Yelp
Came here for a friends birthday. Prior to everyone else arriving, we got a table for two to get some a food. The loaded potato skins were really good. The pretzels were interesting because they were deep fried. The sauce they came with helped balance them. When everyone else arrived, we waited for a larger table. This was a great idea. We ended up with a booth and a spot where people could come and go from. I will say this place is VERY loud and the line outside after the band started was long. Additionally, everything seemed expensive for what you got. It was $11 for a Tito's drink and our dinner of two apps and two drinks each was $80. We easily spent a lot of money here for an evening out but we were amount good company. The womens restroom only has two stalls so when the band stops performing prepare for a long wait.

Yelp
Love this local spot...their food is delish - specifically their fish 'n chips and hummus. Service is SPOT ON. This place is casual and cool...oh, and the ladies room is impeccably CLEAN...always an important thing for me

Yelp
It's a bar. It's a burger. I got a Negroni cause the name is funny. I didn't but I still think the name is funny. The place looks like I'd be drinking from the skulls of my enemies and yelling about dragons eating my crops.

Yelp
Was so excited to bring my team and several business departments here for karaoke. There were technical difficulties, no big deal. However, the terrible experience came after. The girl running karaoke was unprofessional, rude, and more concerned about her opportunities to sing than the customers. She sang more than anyone else that waited for over an hour. I'm sorry but, it's not about you tonight? I came to celebrate a team member being promoted, but I left doubting my favorite bar in Harwood. What karaoke bar says no to t swift, blink 182, and every classic song not requested by a friend of the "dj". DISCLAIMER: this is for Thursday karaoke that Harwood advertises heavily. The actual quality of food and drink is much higher. But I think we can agree, we are only as good as our weakest link?

Autie P.

Yelp
Terrance is as great! Made our experience amazing! Poured a great Guinness! The atmosphere was amazing too!

Yelp
Great service, really good cocktails and happy hour, and great food/apps. Came in with a group of friends and it was very easy to find a seat during late afternoon time. They have happy hour which I highly reccomend you try. Favorite drinks on hh have to be the old fashioned and whisky sour. The rosemary cucumber gimlet is strong in cucumber flavor and sour so if you don't like those two combinations then you may not like that drink. The whisky sour isn't actually sour which I liked and the cherry they use on top is so goodd! Try the Ruben fries and scotch egg app! Service is quick and very accommodating and nice. They have free garage parking too so easy access to here. Also pretty good amount of space indoors and outdoors!

Yelp
Best part of the Harwood shops! A favorite go-to for birthdays, holidays (especially Christmas), and spontaneous dinners with friends. Highlights are the fish and chips, "spin-the-wheel drink selection spun but the bartender, and hip vibes. Food - I've never been to a British pub, but I'm excited to go to one if it's resemblance of a real British pub. My favorites are the pretzels with cheese, fish and chips, and the burger. I'm not a burger person, but I'll get one here. Prices are slightly expensive, but I think it's worth it. Convenience - it's located in the midst of the upcoming Harwood shops. It's walkable from our apartment, so we love walking here. It's busy and popular, but I've never had to wait more than 10min! We even had a bday of 15 people here last minute. Ease of obtaining a seat is awesome given the popularity of this place. Ambience/aesthetic - super hip and COZY. I love Christmas time here. The decor is impeccable. I love the cherrywood furniture, fireplace, and burgundy/moody yet inviting vibes. Also it's a great place to go to after watching the hockey game at the AA center or even just staying in to watch the Mavs. Service - service is fast and efficient! We've always had nice servers. They even let us switch tables during a busy night when I was being fickle. Oh! And this place even have live bands sometimes! There's also a happy hour that I have yet to check out.

Yelp
Unfortunately I have no pictures to share but this restaurant was really nice and the plus point is that it's open till 2 AM including the kitchen! We got there at 12am feeling reslly hungry so I forgot about pictures! Ambience: Low lit, very unique, Irish pub style. It's huge and the seating is so nice! Food: We ordered the chicken tikka skewers and the lemon pepper skewers. Both were great definitely get the chocolate dessert. It's a huge portion but delicious and comes with ice cream on the side. The fries were so good! Crisp and thin. The drinks were a hit or miss. We pretty much got six or seven drinks which were rum-based, tequila-based, whiskey. The Irish coffee drink was by far the best. Service was quick and the server was nice!

Mollie P.

Yelp
The food here is amazing. I can always get someone to go with me just because of their buffalo chicken wings. This is actually one pub where they can pour a good Guinness. I highly recommend.
google avatar

Yelp
So, the website said make reservations for St. Patrick Day....we did and when we got there they said it was for them only to make sure they had enough food..::still waited over an hour with all others who did NOT do that... Why????)
google avatar

Melissa J.

Yelp
Service was excellent. Had a well poured Guinness. The chicken wings with bbq sauce was nice. I had the fish and chips and normally I hate fries but their chips were phenomenal. I ate everyone on my plate. Fish was crispy. My husband had the ribs and loved them. Portion sizes are huge.

Yelp
Lot more fun to visit for a huge UEFA Champions League Finals watching party in Dallas!! Came for the very first time for some yummy BBQ Chicken Wings, too!! Lots and lots of people watching the UEFA Champions League Finals game between Manchester City FC and Inter Milan!!
google avatar

Gynelle M.

Yelp
Hardwood was a great spot to hang on the late night tip. Our bartender, Lana, was fabulous and had the best personality ever! Our drinks were tasty the ambiance was superb, and the service was perfect. As for the food, it was your typical late night, greasy bar food. Nothing to write home about, but definitely an option for a late night bite off of a flight when everything else is closed. If you just want a bar to hang, this is certainly a great spot! If they upgrade the items on their menu, they'll really be onto something!
google avatar

Brian S.

Yelp
I'll give it to the ambiance to this place. Welcome to Ireland! I need to food demolish the food and the service here. My group was here for the kick off to a Michigan football season. Just as horrible as the college was the burger. Over cooked and dry as my ex girlfriend. Not pictured was the Scottish egg, kinda of an embarrassment honestly. Although the fries would make a skinny French guy proud. The service forgot about us and the manager couldn't remember anything we ordered. If you like BO, sit at the bar with the girl that road 25 miles to get here. Overall the food is over priced and Michigan won their game so a big thumbs down from the food demolisher. If you want to be a high class Irish bar step up your game. Hard pass.
google avatar

Ryan N.

Yelp
I love their Happy Hour specials! My go-to is an Old Fashioned with an order of Scotched Egg. Delicious! I do feel as if the Old Fashioned during their Happy Hour isn't as strong as what I'm used to. But $6 is a reasonable price for it. Parking can be tricky sometimes if the garage is full. Otherwise, this place is a pretty cool place for hanging out, drinks, and food! Two thumbs up! :) P.S. shoutout to Melody and Lee - both were awesome during the past few times I've been there!
google avatar

Yelp
Great English pub in harwood district! We always stop in for a beer but we finally tried some food. Their fish and chips are amazing!
google avatar

Yelp
SCOOOORE! Came for a beer, stayed for a long while. Charming patio. Seductive interior pub. Amazing service from Frank, including wonderful suggestions of sips and bites. Great spot in catching a game. CHEEEEEERS! Fabulous selection of draft beers. Good bites of cod cakes, reuben fries, and, short ribs sliders. A MUST HAVE whenever here from now on is their excellent "Whiskey Toffee Cake". CHEERS!
google avatar

Yelp
I've been to Harwood arms about 5 times now. Although I've not been to England, it has the feel of a classy British pub. It's dark inside but plenty of light to see, and the outdoor patio is great when the weather allows it. The only food I've ordered here are the fries which I highly recommend! Overall a great bar to end the night at.
google avatar

Martin H.

Yelp
With a quick look at the menu online, my colleague and I Ubered here for dinner. Sitting outside was a big bonus. Weather was perfect, though the music was way too loud. We asked several times for it to be lowered, and it finally was. Lots of happier people all sighing with relief. Fish and Chips was a little disappointing. While the fish, cod, was delicious, flaky and had a great batter, the fries were a little disappointing and there wasn't enough. The size of the total portion was just more than an appetizer but fell short of an entree. This was the same issue my colleague had. He ordered the curry, which came in a huge bowl. Promising. The rice and curry only came up to about 1/4 way up. Disappointing. No naan came with the meal, and really should be added. Both meals left us hungry. For me I had a dessert (which was outstanding) and my colleague had another beer. Service was above average. The food tasted great, just really not enough. Looks pretty, less filling. Still, a positive review.

Yelp
This place is amazing and the staff is incredible!!! Prompt and friendly every time! If you don't have an awesome experience, check yourself first. No, they're not perfect, but dang it!, they're close!!! The food is fantastic, bier selection is incredible, and the staff is beyond amazing!!! Said that part twice for a reason, it's true!!! Plus! Premier League and Bundesliga matches are on for viewing enjoyment. Come catch a FC Bayern match and hang with the local fan club! FCBDFW! Auf Gehts Bayern!
google avatar

Michael K.

Yelp
We have been here a few times and now felt it's time for a review. Atmosphere is great, dark pub feel and nice service! The ding on this place is that the food really is undesirable! The fish and chips are the worst I have ever had, the menus says it's cod but to be honest I can't tell what type of fish were eating, I wish I took a picture to post, my wife and I took a few bites and paid the bill and left. The fish is the shape of mini logs, think frozen Gordon's fish sticks but big and fleshy not appealing, didn't smell good at all! To give a frame of reference if anyone likes fish & chips we normally would go to the Crafty Irishman downtown Dallas, they fly in fresh cod weekly for their fish and chips, now that's the real deal as I would eat while in London. We're eating here around 5:30 dinner time, only one other table was eating the rest of the place including the patio was dead empty, their were more employees working than patrons in both bar or restaurant. Unfortunately this was our third try and in baseball terms it's a strikeout, to many other options and better restaurants in Dallas to spend $77 for fish and chips and two drinks and then leaving to go eat at another restaurant as we couldn't stomach the food.

Yelp
As a Brit, I can confirm this Full English Breakfast is nothing like it should be. Wrong bacon, wrong sausage, wrong mushrooms, and American breakfast potatoes!?
google avatar

Allison F.

Yelp
Great spot to come for a drink or food. Cool atmosphere and good service. Depending on the time of day it can be packed or more low key. It is great to go for games or a drink before or after something at American Airlines. Prices are ehh for what you get.
google avatar

Daniel C.

Yelp
I came here at the suggestion of one of the bar tenders at Te Deseo and also because it was one of the only places in the area that was open past midnight. I love pubs, so this place was right up my alley!  I barely remember how the place looked, because I was already pretty buzzed, but they served fat, Jameson shots with pickle backs. Yessss!  Oh, and the kitchen was pretty much closed, but they let me put in an order of fries and gotdamn did they hit the spot! Nicely crisp shoestring fries with a beer and Jamo. Immaculate!  The staff there are all really cool and definitely helped to bring the vibes! Definitely worth the stop in, if you're in the area!

Yelp
I visited this place for the first time two weeks ago, and it was such a great time! The whole place was very clean and well kept, from the couches we sat on to even the bathrooms. They also had a band called Iron Vine and the vibes were so fun! The bar staff was very helpful even in the busy time of night! Can't wait to go back
google avatar

Roma B.

Yelp
Second time coming here for happy hour! Ordered the rosemary cucumber gimlet martini. Very light and refreshing. Sat outside this time since the weather was nice, loved the outside flower decor and seating feels like you're in London. Great service, server came quite often to ask if we needed anything.

James L.

Yelp
This place is awesome. Best pub in Dallas (downtown) by far. The bartenders are friendly, knowledgeable and have an overall great vibe. Service is phenomenal, especially from Jason, the bartender. Super cool guy and has done an amazing job every time I'm there. The drinks are great and the food is amazing. The aesthetic is super cozy and the bathrooms are spotless. They have a lot candle in the men's bathrooms. Like who does that? They do. If you haven't been here you're missing out.

Cynthia S.

Yelp
What a disappointment! Made reservations for St Patrick's Day as website claims. Been waiting 1 hour 20 minutes and no table. Where is the owner and management????? See people at tables NOT even with food. Why make a reservation if you are not honored that?? Please go to another reservation and do Not waste your valuable time. This is time that I'll never get back today. I'm so disappointed.

Yelp
Happy hour 4-7 which it can be hard to find a place past 6 for happy hour. They have extended happy hour on Friday (pretty much all early afternoon). happy hour items: I like the Rueben fries ($6 during HH, $12 regular price.) The happy hour version may be just half of the regular version, so not sure if it's a good deal or not... Mini sliders: 2 for $6. They were ok. I didn't love them, but they're not bad either. Twice baked potatoes: $6. Good but not a reorder for me. Old fashioned, $6. Can't go wrong here. Regular menu items: The Rueben sandwich is good and comes with fries. It's a pretty big portion and you could split it with someone else. Patty melt (comes with fries). Also good portion and I liked this. I think I liked the Rueben more. It's a nice place to hang out and catch up with friends or coworkers. There's also a parking garage which is nice in this area of the city.

Yelp
I do not recommend this bar. The service was horrible. The management team acted like they could care less about my needs as a customer. The bathrooms were filthy and they had a cock roach problem. God knows what condition the kitchen is in. Ordered food with a friend of mine and we both had upset stomachs after. Save yourself the trouble. Look for another place to dine.
google avatar

Yelp
Amazing food. Amazing staff and managers. Fish and chips is one of the best. I love this place. xx Mel

Yelp
I came at the start of happy hour and was not packed at all. The inside was absolutely stunning. It was decorated for Christmas. The drinks were amazing and I would definitely recommend them. The fries were full of flavor and the sliders were really tasty. I definitely recommend coming during happy hour!! So yummy I'm coming back!!

Yelp
We stopped by Harwood Arms before going to a Stars game in hopes of grabbing dinner. Unfortunately, we weren't smart enough to make reservations and were told of a 40 minute wait so we decided to just grab drinks and some apps at the patio. Located in Uptown, Harwood Arms is a great place to grab dinner with friends - it felt more upscale than I expected it to be as the place looked all fancy and of course, since we're in the Dallas Uptown area, prices aligned with that as well. We ordered the dip that was part of happy hour and the fried egg dish (I forget the name) - Both were pretty good and that's pretty much the only thing I can base my review on. Service was pretty good despite how busy they were. I did step inside the restaurant to use the restroom and saw that the pub itself isn't that big so I advise you make reservations, especially for dinnertime. I hope that I can check out this place again for a full experience but for now - this review will have to make do!

Yelp
Love this place. The ambiance is one of my favorites in Dallas, there's nothing like it. It feels like a real British pub, and their food and drinks compliment that. It's also a great place to go for any soccer games - the crowd makes it so fun! Their outside patio is also gorgeous, complete with nice flowers and tables. They have a great beer and cocktail selection, as well as appetizers and main entrees - A great pre-dinner drink spot, or for a full date night. Love it!

Yelp
Didn't think I was a fan of corned beef until I tried their Reuben fries... all I can say is WOW! Such an interesting concept and I'm always a fan of good bar food. The vibes here are great, if you happen to stop by make sure you spin the wheel! We sat down and ordered a few drinks as well, the Irish coffee was definitely a fan favorite especially on a chilly day. I've visited Harwood arms a few times and always experience great service. Now that I've tried those pub fries I'll definitely need to come back to try more of their food.

Yelp
For our birthdays this year, my wife and I decided we would be on a mission to find the best fish n chips in the Dallas area. Now, I confess, I have not yet visited every place in the area that has candidates for the best. But after visiting another three locations, I feel qualified to make a few observations. We chose three of the often top rated Fish 'n Chip locations in the DFW area, in hopes that we would find something better than our current top two. We went in with a group of six, each of us with evaluation forms and writing utensils. We evaluated the fish, the chips, the tartar sauce, malt vinegar and other add-ons. We considered the ambiance, the quantity as well as quality of the food, the value received, and the overall experience. Every place we went had something to commend it. You don't survive long in the post COVID-19 restaurant world serving bad food or lacking creativity. But I can say this with confidence. If you are looking for the best (so far for me anyway) fish and chips dining experience, Harwood Arms is your best bet. Easily the most authentic English pub environment, with absolutely excellent fish n chips and great service - you don't want to miss Harwood Arms. Because my phone knows I love fish n chips, it keeps pushing articles to me about lists of best places to get them in the DFW area. I've seen enough of these now that I have tried most of them and know that while many of them are good in their own right. That being said, any list that doesn't put Harwood Arms at the top of the list (or maybe second) is missing the point. Try it, you'll thank me afterwards.
