Hashi Market - Review - Union Square - New York - The Infatuation

"NYC’s newest Japanese grocery store is Hashi Market, which has a few other locations in the city. In addition to Japanese snacks and drinks, their Union Square location has a prepared food section, matcha soft serve, and a tuna cutting where you can snag some free samples. We haven’t been here yet, but want you to know this spot exists." - Willa Moore

This place is really good for shopping! I really liked the sushi because it was very fresh! The Japanese products are more cheaper then the other stores and better quality. The shop is very clean and the staff are very kind! If you come here, you must try the matcha sweets.

Super bright, clean and new Japanese grocery. Snacks, a dessert bar upfront, 10% off for students, and a lot of snacks and ice cream. The lunchboxes look good - I was waiting for the fried chicken which wasn't out yet before I had to head to my appointment. They have a funny little mascot upfront, and some plates and cosmetics in different aisles.

I went there at night, some of the sections of daily made food was quite empty but everything looks good. They place was so bright and clean. They also have tables to sit down and have microwave to heat up the food. There were many things like snacks, plushies, ice creams, shampoos, meats, all kinds of drinks and more.

They have a great mix of snacks and foods! There are also shampoos, home items, and even some stationery supplies. All very cute. See the photos Some highlights - the tea collection is nice, and there are lots of interesting drinks. There’s frozen food, but they also have sushi and some refrigerated options. Prices are on the higher side compared to similar stores. I also saw someone buying that viral mango dessert but couldn’t find it myself - maybe next time!

Google
Very well stocked Japanese grocery store, prices are reasonable & plenty snacks & beverages that are not easy to find in other stores. There’s also a to go ice cream & bubble tea section inside & a microwave to heat up take away foods.

Nice Japanese supermarket where Saigon Market/Grill used to be. They sell sushi, bentos, green tea matcha drinks and ice cream, and other fruits and desserts. They also have vegetables, frozen food and snacks. I bought two drinks. Chestnut cold foam and Red bean cold foam. They are on the lighter side, would recommend the regular sugar and less ice.

Hashi Market on University Place is part food market, convenience, prepared meals, snacks and and beauty items. There is a large assortment of ice cream and various snacks. A cafe' offers drinks and soft serve. If you cook, good assortment of condiments/sauces, frozen foods and small selection of meats/vegtables in the back of store. Sushi and bento boxes next to a large assortment of drinks in front of the store. Interesting offering of fruit sandwiches. There are a few aisles of beauty and novelty products. A mini market of Japanese/Asian products.

Yelp
It is impossible to leave empty handed because they've got an extensive selection of asian snacks, groceries, beauty and skincare products, homegoods, and even anime figures and blind boxes. I almost go to Hashi Market every day because there is one right next to my office. The new Union Square location is the biggest one with more new products, including Japan exclusive haagen dazs. My favorite part of Hashi Market is definitely their Fujiissa counter, offering matcha & black sesame soft serve, flavored matcha drinks, and matcha affogato. The sushi and sahimi are top-notch -- their sashimi is sourced and shipped directly from Japan. I was lucky to watch the tuna-cutting show, performed by a licensed chef from Japan. The tuna was weighted 140 pounds!?

Yelp
Super bright, clean and new Japanese grocery and convenience store. Like it - reminds me of a roomier version of a Japanese 7-Eleven. Snacks, a dessert bar upfront with matcha soft serve, 10% off for students, and a lot of snacks and ice cream. The bento and lunchboxes look good - I was waiting for the fried chicken which wasn't out yet before I had to head to my appointment. They have a funny little mascot upfront, and some plates and cosmetics in different aisles.

Yelp
((4.25 stars)) Hashi Market opened in the NYU-Greenwich area earlier this year. the store is a Japanese-owned super market / cafe/ mini retail spot selling a variety of prepared foods (onigiri, bento meals, katsu's, musubis, sushi, sashimi, etc), grocery (produce, ingredients, etc) items from Japan, some household items, and a Fujiissa counter (serving matcha drinks, soft serve, and more) by the main entrance. it's a massive space, neatly arranged with brightly aisles that is super clean and well-maintained. the prepared foods look pretty fresh especially the cooked foods and sushi-sashimi items and really work in a pinch if your day or evening runs late and you don't have time to cook or you are just in the mood for pork katsu or a variety of other Japanese dishes. beyond the frozen as well as produce--there is extensive snack and dessert aisles. most recently, grabbed one of my favorite dessert-y eats: a Matcha Frozen Wafer Sandwich...so good and simple! there is a small seating area towards the front of the interior if you are going to enjoy the prepared foods or cafe items, but it seems it's a very grab-n-go spot as many of the prepared foods are geared for. the busy New Yorker. no shock that this location is in a very NYU-ish area as that seems to be the foot traffic throughout the day who want quick calories to and from classes. this location is also located near Union Square Park, so when the Spring and Summer hits...this is a convenient place to pick up food or drinks and enjoy some al fresco time.

Yelp
Nice Japanese market situated near union squares. I went specially for the sesame soft serve place - they currently have a buy one get one 50% off deal for all item. The market itself is clean and sufficient. There is a good mix of premade items for grab and go meal, snacks, products, and grocery. There is also a small sitting area for you to sit and relax. It reminds me of a convenient store in Asia.

Yelp
Newly open Japanese supermarket by union square. Very nice and clean. It makes me feel I'm back to Japan. Different sections like grocery, bento box/to-go food, snacks, frozen items etc. At the entrance, a matcha tea shop serves drinks and ice cream. The matcha ice cream is goooooood! There are couple stools and microchips for quick meal if you need to eat. The staff seem nice. I did not have much interaction with them but they were efficient at the counters.

Yelp
Take my money!! I am absolutely obsessed with this place. The store is so cute and organized. I felt like I was in a convenience store in Japan. They have so much good stuff! The employees were all so nice. You gotta check out the matcha cafe too. I had to limit myself to just 6 things, because I was about to buy the whole store. You won't regret coming here!

Yelp
Did not plan to get matcha ice cream today, but I saw it on the menu through the window and really wanted to give it a try! It was a perfect blend of matcha not-sweet and ice cream sweetness. Like it wasn't too sugary at all. I browsed a little while I was waiting but they were fast to prepare my ice cream. The ambience was a little bright for me, but I understand that it's also a market. I would definitely get the ice cream again... it tasted like high-quality matcha!

Yelp
Has everything you could want- food, snacks, drinks, home goods, and more. Great selection of ready-made food, both cold and hot- great for work lunches or if you need a quick meal. The gyudon and spam musubi hit the spot. They also do tuna cutting shows every now and then, which are always fun to watch. Wish there was a Hashi market where I live!

Yelp
Hashi Market is a brand new, newly opened market. We were hungry and wanted a quick bite. We grabbed the pre packaged beef lo mein. Show your student ID to get student discount!

Yelp
Love Japanese markets and need more of them all over NYC. It's a great store that meets all your Japanese guilty pleasures -sushi, onigiri, Japanese snacks, ice cream and even stuff animals and toys. The store is pretty big and well organized

Yelp
At first glance, Hashi Market is modern, clean and spacious! I had to rush through it due to time constraints but wished the prepared foods had more selection of hot foods. Even though they did have chicken teriyaki which looked a bit too pale for me but they had a lot of sushi and other types of prepared foods like Japanese karaage chicken and some fried wings in the box with various flavors so read the label before you grab! Dumplings were available fried and with different skin types. One was green so probably a veggie type skin. There were round containers of steamed buns and Lo Mein! They went Chinese too! A lot of the prepared foods have English on the labels. A lot of products to be had here . Some are food, novelty, lots of snacks, plush, ingredients, and even stationery. The fried wings are delicious still crispy! There are five in a box for $9.99. There's a nice freezer selection with Asian ice creams, frozen gyoza and even kimbap! Oh....Korean too! There was a whole shelf of mochis! A counter for ice cream and a beautiful and cute Hashi mascot statue! I am surprised no claw machines. A pretty fun place to explore and see what goodies you can find!

Yelp
I'm so glad there's a new Hashi mart nearby usq. It's the best place to go for matcha or sesame soft serve, as well as a wide assortment of prepared foods (sushi, buns, desserts, etc). The market is clean and also sells blind boxes.
