This is what you get when you order a Chicken Teriyaki Plate. As you can see in the picture, they give less than a cup of chicken chopped in cubes. Also, the noodle seems to be just covered with garlic powder. Just look at the oil when I lifted the noodles. Yikes. Will go next door to little Panda from now on. Hope the quality and quantity improves. Don’t sit on the benches. Just waiting for your food, your pants will stick to it. Good luck!

Google
I had heard good things about this place, so I decided to try it. I was so disappointed! I ordered the teriyaki steak with double rice, since they didn't have noodles and it was NOT worth the money. While the steak did have good flavor, there was VERY little. I should have ordered Panda Express instead. Never will I order from here again.

Natalie Mata

Google
Me and my fiance got the same thing steak and shrimp and noodles combo and it's dry as hell Very disappointed. Don't recommend here to eat.

miranda lopez

Google
Noodles were dry, steak edible. They normally give you a side of vegetables with your steak and noodles not this day.... drink fountain wasn't working. The floor was sticky inside. I was very disappointed. I won't be back.

Hashi is incredible! We moved away from Abilene a couple years ago but still crave this food from Hashi! We ate this so much when lived in Abilene. I just checked online to make sure it was still around. My wife and I have talked about driving down there to just eat from this restaurant! It was always quick to get, easy and so delicious. If you live in Abilene this is the place to go to!

Google
Overcooked dry, season less chicken. Sauce is added in small containers (Choice of two) Menu was updated to a better location, but less informative with no prices on menu. White rice was average. Vegetables sitting in the tray looked less than appealing. The Edamame Pea Pods were freshly made, and about average. However the salt distribution inside was less than ideal. Service was quick. Plenty of tables to sit at. I appreciated the ceiling lamps & overall branding decor. Simple menu for simple eats.

Google
Chicken couldn't even fill up the corner portion of the foam tray and it was cold. Not seasoned very well and broken soda machine. Menu was in awkward place and it doesn't have prices. Was not impressed at all.

Nathan B.

Google
I paid $11 for the steak combo. There was less than 5 oz of meat in the container. The rice and veg was good.

Yelp
Quick service and the food is good. The service is always amazing. Hands down best biscuits and gravy around. I prefer the plain gravy to the sausage gravy as the sausage gravy and be a bit greasy sometimes.

Yelp
So, called the phone # for the E.N. 10th address because that is what pulls up per Google. The person who answered the phone said "hello". She didn't bother to identify she was associated with Hashi, much less which location. I placed my order to pick up. Went to the E.N. 10th address. Guess what...IT'S NO LONGER THERE!! I have no idea where my food is now. Hey, Hashi management, update the internet and hire people who know how to provide good customer service.

Felicia O.

Yelp
The vegetables were huge. Take the time and cut your vegetables smaller. The rice was good but the meat was a very small portion.

Joey W.

Yelp
No Air conditioning. Place was clean. Can't eat it that heat. Lots of flies. I'm going

Yelp
The staff were fast, friendly, and thorough. The food was disappointing for teppan style cooking, where you expect freshly made, tender meats and veggies. The steak and chicken were tough. My only guess is that because of the over 100 degree weather, and no AC though there was a fan going, maybe the cooks limit their teppan cooking to keep temperatures down? But that's only a guess. The sauces helped to make the to go order more pleasurable.

Yelp
The food here is wonderful. Everything was fresh and perfectly prepared. What a bargain for a foodie.

Yelp
Popped in for lunch. You order at the counter and sit down as they bring your food. The girl at the counter was very friendly and helpful. Steak - The steak pieces were well marinated. Not too chewy but not entirely tender either. Chicken - A little salty for my liking but it went fine with brown rice. They were cubed very small too. Fried Rice - This had the standard fried rice flavors as well as some sweetness to it. Very tasty. Brown Rice - No mushy rice! Great consistency. Veggies - These were well cooked and very good when dipped in their ginger sauce. Overall, I enjoyed this place and it is good for something quick.

Yelp
Get the noodles! I stopped in because it was the only non-chain restaurant open near my hotel. I got soup, stir fried veggies, gyoza, and the noodles. The noodles were PERFECT. Soup (hashi, not the miso) was too salty- not much depth/flavor, gyoza was dry and they were out of the sauce, veggies were perfectly seasoned and served al dente. The noodles were amazing- the best yakisoba I've had in ages - chewy and flavorful with perfectly seasoned and sautéed crunchy veggies like cabbages and onions. I will go back- often- and get double noodles and veggies. Best ever!

Yelp
Seeing all the mixed ratings on here, you would think I just had bad timing. For dinner, we chose this place because the food reminded me of Mongolian Grill. The quality was certainly not the same. Pretty simple menu, just choose your protein (chicken, steak, or shrimp) along with two sides (brown/white rice, noodles, or mixed veggies). I had the chicken with fried rice and noodles. Unlike everyone else, I found the food very bland, even their sweet and sour/teriyaki sauces didn't help. The protein portioning was not worth the price in my opinion. On top of the that, one of the employees were sweeping vigorously while everyone was eating. It made us question all the smoke basking around the whole restaurant.

Yelp
Abilene is not exactly a mecca for a great food, so you get what you can :) It was our second time visiting Abilene, and we were searching for a quick and cheap dinner. Hashi was around the corner from our hotel, so we decided to check it out as Yelp reviews were great. The parking lot for the strip mall was disastrous - potholes everywhere, almost un-drivable. But restaurant had a nice sign and clean front, so don't be discouraged by a parking lot. Inside decor was interesting, place looked clean and well maintained. It's was not too busy with eat-in patrons, but we saw a lot of people picking up their take out orders. Must be popular with locals. It reminded me of a mall food court - walk up to a counter, point what you want, then some special items made in the back... :) The menu was small, but generous portions sizes. Everything was delicious, except maybe spring rolls - they were rather mushy inside, and I am used to more of a "stringy" taste. If you are looking for a quick and cheap dinner, give this place a try!

Yelp
Went to this location after having researched it online. The first picture is what is advertised on their website and happened to be exactly what I wanted. Customer service was decent and food was done in a reasonable time. I went home and was extremely disappointed in the amount of meat I received for what I paid. Especially since their advertised photo shows so much meat and you can count the ones I received. Pictures posted. Overall, the food is pretty good. But this is the SECOND time they give me little meat. Not acceptable.

Yelp
The best, always friendly in person and over the phone, food is cooked correctly and never slopped together, the vent hood is ALWAYS clean which is huge for restaurants like this. Kitchen is CLEANNN, you get to watch them cook it which is nice. Always smells amazing which is a HUGE plus

Sabrina A.

Yelp
Great and quick service at this restaurant always! Food is always hot and good and you get exactly what you're hoping for. I only give four stars because sometimes the rice is better than other times...I'm sure it's due to bulk making but still. Great place! Nice people!
google avatar

Nicole M.

Yelp
Definitely a great, quick take out spot. I got the shrimp and the Hashi steak. Shrimp was eh, but the Hashi steak was the best part of the meal because it's marinated nicely and the cook of it is decent for a fast food take out spot. They really go big on the sides rather than the entree so prepare to douse yourself on rice and noodles. Noodles have barely any flavor so I asked for teriyaki sauce on the side, mixed that in with the noodles, and you have some ghetto chow mein. It's good though LOL.
google avatar

Yelp
Food looked precooked when o went in and tasted old. I'm not going back again not place

Yelp
The food here is insanely good! I don't eat meat so I can't speak for that, but I got the noodles and veggies. I was blown away! The noodles are the best noodles I've ever had, good texture and flavor. Tasted like there was sesame oil in them. The veggies were perfect. Straight off the hibachi grill. The hot mustard was perfect. I live two hours from this place and I will drive back just to eat here!!

Yelp
Not a choice for me. Rice has too much oil. Meat fair quality. But my daughter loves them.

Yelp
After seeing lots of positive reviews on this place, I felt it was time to come check it out! It's a fairly small restaurant, but it's appointed nicely. Maybe 6-8 booths and several tables in the center. You order 2 meats, (chicken, steak, shrimp) these can be had teriyaki or hibachi. And you then have a choice of 2 starches, fried rice, brown rice, white rice, noodles or vegetable medley. Note - you cannot deleted or any items in tne vegetable medley. So if you don't like mushrooms, like myself, you are out of luck. You CAN order double on any of those items also. I ordered noodles and fried rice with hibachi chicken and steak (they cook tne steak to order) I found that to be a nice touch! So Medium it is. The chicken was good, the steak was amazingly cooked! The fried rice was ok, the noodles were a bit dry to my taste, so next time I will just order double fried rice. Once everything was mixed together, the noodles dryness became less of an issue, it was soooo good I literally couldn't stop eating.. When I was full I took a break and are some more.. Amazing flavor! You had to ask for condiments like soy sauce and hot sauce, it's not just available to grab, which I prefer. The portions are HUGE! You get more than what you pay for! Even though I did my best to consume everything, I still had enough for another full meal.. These leftovers will NOT be taking up residence in the back of my fridge to rot.. I'm already looking forward till lunch tomorrow! Another nice touch was the beverage machine, it's one of those all on one deals, but it had Sparkling Water with Lemon! First I've ever seen that, and it's one of my favorite drinks so another huge plus! Another con - there must have been something wrong with the AC, the dinning room temperature was warm, not cold.. On a 95+ degree day, I want to eat in a cold establishment, and the bathroom vent was blowing HOT air. So, I'm sure there was a problem with the units. In summary: Awesome Food! Try it! Wanted to give 5 stars but I couldn't ignore the cons. Bad AC - to warm I didn't like the noodles - to dry for me. Asking for condiments made me feel like a begger. Just have them available... I promise I won't take 50 soy sauce and make a latte.

Yelp
The food was so bland. The person behind the counter seemed super confused. When our plates came out, didn't taste much but thick soy sauce and the vegetables were super bland and some burnt. Our to go plates were sauced on the outside. Super messy. Not impressed.

Yelp
Nice little place in Abilene with friendly people & fast service. For around $10/pp you get plenty of food & it's made when you order. I had the teriyaki steak & shrimp. Has a small hint of garlic, good flavor. Egg rolls were good, but a little greasy for my liking. Would eat here again though.

Jennifer J.

Yelp
We usually love this place but today 8/27/2022 I walk and the cash is in the dining area on her phone and the cook is sitting on the floor behind the grill??? They did not speak to me and when I ordered they seemed so bothered to have so any kind of work.
google avatar

Garry H.

Yelp
Man, am I slow reviewing this place or what. Really nice place that is SO crowded at lunch. I have done the steak, chicken, and salmon, salmon being my favorite. Haven't tried the rice cause I like the noodles and veggies. Great place for a quick meal or some take out. Staff always friendly. But those are the tiniest spring rolls I've ever seen. Great place and we'll be back.
google avatar

Alan R.

Yelp
Simple. I come here for the noodles. No lie. Need no other explanation. If you live in Abilene you must eat them

Clay L.

Yelp
Always amazing! I love their teriyaki steak, chicken, fried rice and veggies. Locally owned and operate! Highly recommend
google avatar

Amber M.

Yelp
Great food at a cheap price. Service is always friendly. I tend to get the same thing every time but it is good - tempura shrimp, spring rolls and edamame. All great portion sizes and I have 2 meals for about $7. I did have the teriyaki beef and it was really good. Came out hot and fresh and with a good flavor. It's not fine dining but it's a great deal for the price.

Yelp
Really impressed after my first visit! The food was really good and the atmosphere was cool. The real bright spot was the employees. Helpful and friendly, they really made me want to come back.

Yelp
P good Not bad No broccoli on steam veggie :/ Just big pieces of zucchini mushrooms and onions

Yelp
Hashi consistently offers amazing food. I have honestly never had anything I didn't like here. The only thing I wish they would do is take pride in their space. It's not the cleanest, they usually have something that needs repair and it's always muggy and warm. Very disappointing as far as atmosphere so I usually get it to go but the delicious food keeps me going back.

Yelp
Traveling and stopped in here because of all the fantastic reviews. OH EM GEE! This food is sooo good! Don't be fooled because it's served in styrofoam to go plates. It's delicious! I had the shrimp, veggies, noodles and husband had steak, fried rice, and veggies. We also had the fried egg rolls. The ginger sauce is amazing! Wish I could tried the sushi but they we're out. Everything we had was made fresh to order and tastes phenomenal!
google avatar

Yelp
HASHI BY GOLLY, YOU ARE DELISH! I can not wait to eat here again. Don't be fooled by it's quaint location located in a strip mall of other eateries. They really snazzed up the inside. Nice wood floors. Hip modern lighting and seating. Cute succulents. The menu is simple and to the point. It doesn't complicate the ordering process with too many silly options. They have veggies, rice, noodles, meats, and a few appetizers to gander upon. I landed with steak and shrimp hibachi with veggies and noodles with crab rangoons. Whoa. I loved it all. The noodles are honestly the most notable. The flavor is strong of garlic and a yummy sauce that is all in one bold, but not too overpowering. The shrimp was fresh and cooked to perfection. I am always weary of faster restaurants and getting shrimp there. I had no fears as soon as that succulent shrimp landed it's way in front of me. The steak was cooked perfectly. I got the original steak, I look forward to trying their Hashi steak. It is a nicer cut and comes with mushrooms and sesame seeds whereas the hibachi steak is cubed and in a garlic soy sauce. The veggies weren't too firm or too mushy. There were mushrooms, onions, and zucchini. The other table members were able to provide me with a taste of the perfectly done salmon and chicken. The salmon was a little too small to order alone, I would recommend partnering it with the shrimp, or really anything. I tried the teriyaki chicken, a little too sweet for my taste, but I don't like sweet things. I look forward to trying the hibachi chicken.

Yelp
They don't still have the ahi or sashimi salads...which was the reason I went. True rest looked ok as a Japanese fast food type, but I came for the sashimi salad in the picture

Alisha G.

Yelp
At 7:32 pm I tried to call in a order to pick up (I was down to road at Lowe's) they put me on hold. I waited 5 minutes before I hung up and called back. They answered and before I could even say anything put me on hold again. I was done at Lowe's so I decided to just drive down there. When I walk into Hashi, I have now been on hold for 7 mins (total of 12 minutes). There was ONE person in the restaurant that was waiting on her order. Two people were cleaning the lobby. Two girls were at the food line and two cooks. They had SIX employees and I was on hold 12 minutes! The girl at the front was extremely rude. This is the 4th time I have been in there and they are rude every time! They are also always trying to close way before it's time to close. Needless to say I will not be eating here anymore! But no worries we walked next door to Little Panda and they didn't not disappoint!

Yelp
This place has the BEST teriyaki steak and fried rice I've ever had. 10/10 recommend if you're craving something out of this world.

Yelp
I really like this place! AMBIANCE: Is really laid back and hip. The floors and counters are pristine. You can tell they put some time and energy in the build out as well. This is saying a lot in Abilene. FOOD: The food is delicious and tastes extremely fresh. SERVICE: The staff is friendly, professional, and knowledgable. I heard the owner is awesome as well.
google avatar

Yelp
I got the Hashi Steak, noodles, fried rice, and gyoza. The Hashi sauce on the steak was too sweet for me, and the steak was pretty gristly, but it was cooked to order (medium-rare). Noodles were flavorless. Gyoza was hard and didn't have much flavor. The fried rice was very good though! Overall I was disappointed after the rave reviews.
google avatar

Kalvin A.

Yelp
Delicious. That's the first thing that came in my mind when I took the first bite of their salmon hibachi and fried rice. I have been waiting for a while for this place to open and I must say it is worth the wait. Not only was the food excellent, but the service that was provided is unbeatable. I ordered the salmon hibachi with fried rice and veggies along with shrimp tempora and spring rolls. As the reviewer before me mentioned, their ginger sauce is phenomenal, one of the best I've ever had. The fried rice is the star here at Hashi, it is something that will make me go back every week. The salmon itself was also delicious, although I wish I had more of it (but for the price, it is very worth it). The only downside is the spring rolls which are good, but can be improved. The atmosphere of this restaurant brings me back home. Coming from a family with a restaurant of our own, I am very critical of each restaurant. Hashi has a vibrant and cozy feeling to it that makes me regret not dining in yesterday. The customer service, as mentioned earlier, is by far one of the best I've had here in Abilene. I highly recommend this place to anyone!

Yelp
This place rocks. I always get the shrimp, noodles and vegetables (mushrooms, zucchini, broccoli, onions. Excellent dining for me.

Yelp
I've been wanting to try Hashi out for awhile now. Glad to have finally went the other day. Walking in its nice to see a new place bring life to the community. The staff are so nice and sweet. You can see the hard work and commitment they put into making your food. I had the hibachi steak, teriyaki chicken, fried rice and dumplings. The hibachi steak had a nice garlic flavor to it and is my favorite so far. The teriyaki chicken was good with a nice sweet flavor to it. The fried rice was good and the portion was pretty generous. Dumplings were nice as well. For my next trip I'm planning to try the tempura shrimp and sushi. Worth the drive for the friendly staff and good food.

Yelp
Great food & atmosphere equals one really happy family! My wife and I, along with our two daughters (ages 5 and 9), went to Hashi today for a late lunch. I had steak and salmon with noodles and vegetables and my wife had the salmon with noodles and vegetables. My oldest daughter had the teriyaki chicken with fried rice kids meal and my youngest had the shrimp with fried rice kids meal. In addition, we had both the miso soup and the Hashi soup, an order of cheese rangoons and an order of sushi. It was so good that we ate EVERYTHING! We even had to go back and get an extra order of shrimp for the 5 year old which she tore up too. That says a lot because both of our girls are pretty picky eaters. Historically, I have not been a fan of Abilene's oriental fare but Hashi has changed my opinion. I even thanked the owner for giving me an oriental style place that I will actually eat at. Quality, cleanliness, and service are almost as important to me as flavor. Hashi had all these in spades. We will be back often. Great job Hashi!

Yelp
Went here a couple of months ago and it was pretty good. It's like a Panda Express basically. You get your meal in a to-go box and you pick your protein along with what carb you want and then your choice of veggies. I got the Hibachi steak with fried rice and veggies. They make it on the spot so you know that it's going to come out hot and steamy. The fried rice was probably the best part because normally rice isn't flavorful where you need to add something to it, but their fried rice had the perfect flavor and I liked it a lot. The only downside is they don't give you a lot of protein. The Hibachi steak was chopped up into small cubes and the amount of rice to steak was way off. I think it was like 4:1. I mean I get it because rice is cheaper than steak but still, at least make it 2:1. The veggies were chunky and tasted like your regular stir fry veggies. They also give you 2 sauces of your choice free, I got the chili and if you like a little kick, it would go perfectly with your food. Hashi has a really nice interior. Don't look at the ceiling though, it's kind of run down and looks like everything is molding. But aside from the ceiling, everything is really modern. The tables were sticky, I'm not sure how often they clean the tables or if that's just how the tables are. I'm giving it a 3 overall because of the ratio and how the cleanliness wasn't too great. If they fixed this, I would give them a 4. I would come back for when I want something to-go and it's quick. The people were nice and the food was good. I wasn't able to finish my food so I was able to make two meals out of it and let me tell you, when you heat it up again the next day, the flavor soaks in and is even better day 2.

Yelp
I am very excited for this restaurant! I have been 3 times now & the food has been excellent every time. Prices are excellent & food is comparable to high end Hibachi grills in town. Also, portion size is more than enough, they pile on the sides. My only complaints are I wish you got more of the entrée, they need to figure out a better way to charge your for your food instead of having you repeat your entire order twice, & seating is limited.

Yelp
Watch out Tokyo Asia! Loved the service and food! Best fried rice I've had in Abilene so far!! We got the steak and salmon hibachi, egg rolls, Rangoon, miso, noodle, veggies. The green tea tasted great too! Can't wait to try the other items. So excited this place opened up! This place gets better every time we come! Hashi steak is the best!! First place in Abilene that makes me feel like I'm back in Dallas.

Yelp
This place is fun, delicious and upbeat. I've been here twice, now, and I have had a great experience both times. The first time, the place was so full we had no place to sit at first. But, by the time our food came out, a table had opened up. That night I ordered the teriyaki salmon with fried rice. The salmon was well cooked and very flavorful. The fried rice was perfect too. The second time I went to Hashi, I got both the hibachi chicken and teriyaki salmon--I couldn't decide. Again, salmon was great as well as the chicken. This visit wasn't as crowded, but still lively and fun. The atmosphere is great because the room is not oversized. A lot of times, especially in Abilene, restaurants devote too much space to/under decorate the dinging room. This is not the case with Hashi--it's well decorated, the music is at an appropriate volume and the dining room is clear and consistent in style. I have not tried their sushi only because they only had crab sushi the nights I went. I prefer salmon and tuna. Recommend this to anyone wanting hibachi for less!

Greg M.

Yelp
Stopped in for lunch. The steak was cooked the way I wanted it. It was marinated just the right amount of seasoning. The vegetables were not mushy, just the right amount of consistency. The brown rice was not sticky and it was really good. The service was quick and very friendly. We got our food in a timely manner. Loved it. I would eat there again.

John W.

Yelp
Called order in and said it would be ready in 15, arrived in 15 only to wait another 40 minutes asking for an update x2 during this wait. Finally they said my order was lost, and said it would be another 15 so I received a refund instead. Disappointing. Abilene TX not CA.

Yelp
Denied service due to a altercation that somebody had with an employee. Whoever did this had a similar name and somehow was mistaken to be tied to us(my family) Now they are refusing service to anyone with a similar last name. Eaten here for years, loved the food, and we absolutley were not involved with whoever caused the problem. We did not even have the ability to explain it wasn't us before being denied service. I find this appaling and extremely poor treatment of long term customers. I reccomend avoiding this place or you'll get blamed for some strangers actions.
google avatar

Melissa W.

Yelp
Hashi is the best! We love their delicious teriyaki chicken (extra chicken), fried rice, and vegetables! The ginger sauce and sweet and sour sauce are divine. Such huge portions that are great as leftovers the next day!
google avatar

Matt M.

Yelp
10/10 Super clean. Small menu, which is great for teppan. Ordered steak with fried rice. Ordered the meat medium rare, and it was perfectly cooked. Didn't really like the corn, and lima beans in the rice but that wasn't enough to dock any points from this place.
google avatar

Amanda H.

Yelp
The service was excellent! It was my first time here and an employee took the time to explain the dishes and the sauces to me. The food was pretty good. I tried the steak, Hashi steak, fried rice, noodles, and gyoza. I really enjoyed the noodles! The steak was what I expected from this type of restaurant. The Hashi steak was tasty! It's regular steak that's been sliced against the grain and cooked with teriyaki sauce. I'm used to a different style of dumplings so I didn't love the gyoza, but that's just me. Their sauces were delicious! I don't know what's in their house dressing, but I was heavenly! Their ginger sauce was very good, as well. They don't have Japanese shrimp sauce like you find at the chain restaurants similar to this. I'll definitely be going here again!
