Why Chefs Love the Tulsa-Made Hasty-Bake Grill So Much | Eater

"Manufactured in Tulsa since 1948 by World War II veteran Grant Hastings, this charcoal oven is prized for being able to smoke, grill, or bake in the same unit and switch between modes quickly. Distinguishing design features include a side access door to feed charcoal and pull out the ash pit, a vertically adjustable charcoal tray for rapid searing or low-temperature smoking, and a grease drain for easier cleanup. Though built and marketed for home use and offered in several sizes and finishes (most models retailing roughly $1,000–$2,000), it has become a cult favorite among chefs for its flavor, durability, quick hardwood-charcoal lighting, and versatility—so much so that restaurants and food trucks frequently adopt them for professional cooking." - Naomi Tomky

The Portable Grill Turned Barbecue Into a Backyard Tradition in America | Eater

"Founded by a Tulsa veteran who sketched his ideal cooker after World War II, the company introduced a 1948 charcoal oven that pioneered features later common in grills—wheels, a hood, and a firebox that made indirect-heat cooking practical—and has long claimed a role as an early innovator in portable backyard grilling." - Jim Auchmutey

I bought a smoker during their scratch and dent sale (still can't don't ANYTHING wrong with it!) Took a few days for my order to be fulfilled, but Hasty Bake sent regular emails on status.... that was very nice to know!

Hands down, the best charcoal grills in the world. You will pass these grills down to your children. The best customer service and amazing staff. The 133 Corten steel is my favorite.

I ordered a Kent Rollins Cowboy Roughneck Smokebox and was blown away at how well it cooks and its quality. It’s a absolute home run. Shipped immediately, and came very nicely packaged. Assembly instructions could be slightly clearer on process and literally clearer (toner/xerox). I also purchased all the accessories and they are also phenomenal. This item does not come with Bluetooth or a plug in cord which I appreciate. It’s made proper and works great. Kuddos Hasty Bake and Cowboy Kent.

Owned a hasty bake grill for over a decade. Easily the best and most durable grill I've ever owned. Never rusted, and easy to clean. It survived Oklahoma and then Colorado weather elements. I highly recommend this place for any charcoal grill needs.

I bought a fiesta built in and the smoker itself is great. However the built in design is horrible. In order to reload it you have to pull out a hot tray and burn yourself getting it out by hand and have coals fall all over the place then set the tray somewhere where it won’t damage anything then reload coals/wood. I’m about a year in and I’m ripping it out and selling it. The stand alone are probably better but I don’t recommend the built ins at all. I have many smokers and frankly the pain/mess of using this built in isn’t worth the money at all. If you buy a hasty bake DO NOT BUY A BUILT IN. To be honest these should be discontinued to protect the brand. It was a waste of a very expensive purchase.

I have had my Hasty Bake Legacy Grill for a couple years now and we stop by the location to get spices and check out the products that come in. We absolutely do not regret the purchase. Has certainly been the best grill that we have owned. The staff is very knowledgeable and friendly. We have attended several of the classes that they offer on site and the community is fantastic.

Great products, prices are off the chart anymore.. and not a lifetime grill... Would be if they used the best materials. And I'm sorry the powder coating does not last.

KUDOS TO HASTY BAKE i just acquired a Continental 83 that needs some love. So I ordered a cover, drip rail and thermometer for it. Plus, to my cart I also added the new Pro Heat Deflector (because I also own a Legacy). So while filling the order, HB noticed the Con 83 parts and were concerned that the heat deflector wouldn’t work for that grill, so they actually called me to let me know. Once I told them about my Legacy, they were like “Ok great. Just wanted to make sure you didn’t buy something that wouldn’t work for you.” That kind of customer service is so rare these days, and so much appreciated, especially when it comes as such a nice surprise. Hasty Bake, you’ve got a customer for life 👍
