Google
Skimped us on the fries and served us burgers that were below average. When I asked about the fries they said we weigh them!! $40 for 3 burgers and fries

Ed Stuard

Google
Other than slow service and ultra high prices, I might eat here again ...never! Tiny hamburger and SLOW service! Better order way way before your flight.

Google
Friends and I just stopped by to get some breakfast burger and the lady who was taking the order seem annoyed at our questions about the food they have ,it wasn't even rush hour, the burgers seemed like to be good but decided not to get anything since the lady was disrespectful.

Johna Davis

Google
Delicious burger but fries weren't fresh or hot. Overall still really good for an airport spot, so I'll give them some slack since it was busy. Burger made up for the rest.. it was cooked perfect and flavorful !

Vince Curletta

Google
Good burgers - friendly people. Nice for airport food.

Google
35 minutes to get my food...somehow they forgot my order. Would have been one star but they hooked me up with some free stuff so I am a happy customer.

George Bunker

Google
The burger was disgusting and left me with a sore gut, would have rather had a 99 cent McDonnalds burger. The service was super slow and the worker was not a happy feller. I travel through Austin often and I will never stop here again.

Cindy Book

Google
Burger was good but fries were awful. And service is very slow!

Yelp
The restaurants at the airport don't have a lot of love from fellow Yelpers, so it was just about choosing a place based on craving. Was in the mood for a good burger and this location delivered a decent version. Went for the "Original", which is two beef patties with bacon and cheese. The cheese was melted and the meat was seasoned well. Side of fries were good - crispy on the outside and soft inside. The ordering using the self service interface was efficient.

Yelp
You are the waiter. You go up to a check out screen which is slow as sin. You get to empathize with those workers who have to work with terribly slow IT solutions as part of their jobs. The burger came and was a-ok. No interactions with any humans other than to ask for a drink and to have my number shouted to me. I guess the entire customer interface was abstracted to such an industrialized point that it makes me wonder will I tip when I get an autonomous-uber? This is now just a process of entering a screen an picking up food. Could have easily have been through a vending machine. They did a great job of driving the accounting costs of humans out of the interaction to the point that they aren't differentiated.

Yelp
I came here last weekend before I flew out of Austin. I've always driven past their physical location in central Austin, but I never actually dined there. The burger was actually good and tastes freshly made. I ordered a Big Hat buger (a double burger) with tator tots and a Big Red in the side. The tots was very crispy and tasted good. The burger was a decent size for the price and the signature sauce was cool. I definitely would eat here again next time I have a burger craving at the airport. The service could have been however because it wasn't crowded no more than two people on line when I was there. I gave 4 stars because the burger was satisfying!

Yelp
The kiosk ordering system is confusing and service is SLOW. Takes about 20 minutes to get your food. $9 for a small burger and fries plus $4 for the cheapest bottle of water. Airport prices argh The food was ok. Non-airport locations are much better! Burger only comes with mustard. If you want other condiments you have to add on during your kiosk ordering. Occasionally there will be a live person taking orders but it seems sporadic at best.

Yelp
No training, terrible customer service and clueless. This location was located inside Austin's International Airport and they missed the memo. Service: This location needs to go back to customer service training and learn the business that they work for. Because there is no button for a kid french fries, the staff didn't know how to ring up a kid fries outside of the regular meal. The sign on the wall stated all the items separately but only it could be ordered within a meal. They were not willing to make any exceptions nor willing to find ways to satisfy the customer. Food: Because I only order the burger, I was unable to review the french fries. The burger was just okay. I think it could have been better if more pride in your job was taken in consideration. Overall: Hopefully in the future they can make improvements and some customer service training can be taken. As a Austin tradition, I would think they would take a little more pride to what the customer is asking for, ask for assistance if you don't know, and don't treat people like the trash you are taking out in the back.

Yelp
Rating this five stars since it's so hard to find a place to get food in the airport with high ratings. I got the double hamburger. Was it the best burger I've ever had? No. But it tasted good, was made with fresh ingredients that wouldn't upset my stomach, and was a great option for a cheap lunch while stuck in the airport. ($8 for a burger here vs $18 at other places that I doubt would have been much better) They even had a bunch of screens where you could place an order and customize your burger.

Yelp
Service is pretty slow here, they had one cook and one person ringing people up but then the cashier ended up going into the kitchen to help out even though I was waiting in line to order next. No one really said anything to me but a couple of minutes later, a third guy showed up at the cashier and took my order. I had wanted just a plain beef patty on a lettuce wrap with tomatoes and pickles, cooked medium rare. Unfortunately, they said they could only make their burgers well done, no big deal. I also got a side of fries. The food was pretty unspectacular. Luckily I had my own guac and animal sauce that I had brought to spice everything up but by itself, it would have been a really bland meal. The fries were also disappointing. They were soggy and over salted and too greasy for my liking. Overall, skip Hat Creek and try one of the other plethora of food options available in this airport.

Yelp
4 stars for the food 2 stars for customer service Little hat burgers and flash chicken fingers with sweet potatoes fries, 2 drinks and a beer 42$. Food was great for what they offer. Customer service was lacking hard core. And when I say I have a certain food allergy and you laugh with your co-workers you should be happy I contained my anger.

Yelp
On the way back East a change in planes gave me not much time to grab lunch. Austin Texas Airport is a foodie paradise compared to Big Corporate Fast Food that litter this travel nation. A single Cheese fully loaded no questions asked qualifies for an In and Out for freshness. I wanted to be impressed with the Fries but found them soft and hot. Grab a table or seat first as space is limited.

Yelp
SO Slow. Over cooked chicken burger. Super backed up. Not efficient. Didn't even taste good. Def not worth the wait. Thumbs down.

Yelp
Well , I'm left in a quandary. The burger I bit into tasted great and the tater tots were some of the best I've tasted. The problem is... that's NOT what I ordered. It's bad enough to get the wrong order handed to you when they call your name but to do it at an airport where you can't always get back to rectify it is even worse. Furthermore, what I ordered cost much more than what I got just adds injury to insult. First and last experience with Hat Creek.

Yelp
Fast service and a great burger. Just what you want at the airport. Line look too long? Skip the line and order from the large touch screens! I went for this option and went in front of about 10 people in line that didn't seem to want to use the technology. Burgers, fries, and drinks. Menu is simple. Pepsi only. No coca-cola. I ordered to double patty burger with everything on it. It was delicious.

Yelp
While it's great to have a fast food alternative in an airport - I don't understand the pricing. A chicken sandwich, a side and a drink for nearly $18. The food is good - and I understand that it's an airport - but would a single refill on drinks be a problem? The tots were cooked to crispy perfection. The chicken sandwich was pedestrian - it tastes ok - but likely bc I added grilled onions and avocado. The bun fell flat and looked like it came in an 8 pack from the grocery store. Anyone else tired on not getting the value or experience you paid for - they charge more not bc the food is better - but because you're captive. Next time you're in Austin this is one you can skip.

Yelp
Slow service, many people in back just hanging around. Another customer complained food smelled bad, and 2 of the employees took it and kept smelling it, never offering refund after he refused another meal. They acted confused and had no customer service skills- finally he just walked away irritated. Quality ok, not impressive.

Susan G.

Yelp
Yesterday, on Mother's day, we chose Hat Creek for lunch...and were happy the kids played on the playground. But our food was an extreme disappointment. The burgers were wrapped up in foil paper and the burgers were obviously pre-made, because the buns were soggy. And the fries weren't hot. There was NOT a crowd, nor did they look understaffed! Terrible. We won't be going back there again.

Yelp
I was the only one there and it took 20 minutes to get my order. The staff of 4 people was just chatting the whole time not caring at all. Then of course they screwed up my order and added spinach and forgot tomatoes. Totally incompetent staff and poor service.
google avatar

Yelp
Closed at 6:30pm on a busy Saturday night for "monthly maintenance". This is some seriously poor business management. Then I watched employees stand around and sip fountain drinks for the next 15 minutes. Whatever.

Yelp
Needed some breakfast before my flight and I knew I could count on Hat Creek's ingredients. Got the brekkie bowl with scrambled eggs, bacon, potatoes, and added avocado. Great customer service. The bowl though was only worth the three stars. Eggs were a good amount but hard scrambled--not my favorite. Bacon was decent-though it was cooked oddly (only way to describe the uncrisp texture and not quite fiinished fatty portIons). Potatoes tasted fine and were definitely considered a garnish. Now the avocado; for $.60 extra cents I didn't expect even a half of an avocado, but when 1/4 of it is already ugly brown-past it's prime, gross texture and flavor--no bueno. At least my vitamins finished filling me up!

Yelp
Burger and tots were actually great. The wait was not. Glad I wasn't in a rush. 20 minutes for airport fast food is too long. The kiosk ordering also suggests it will be efficient. Instead the customer service person was basically standing around while the cook made each order. Odd.

Yelp
Worst customer service and it took them way too long to take an order and just left customers standing there waiting! Then they take the order and forgot my drink and I had to wait again forever to get my drink..... just shitty shitty service! Do not recommend, other companies are much better in the airport!

Yelp
I have to say after the attitude I received from 1 employee will make me never wanna come back to this establishment!! The cashier Elise was incredibly sweet and assisted me with ordering since it was my first time. I ordered the cowboy hat but with just 1 patty. When I received my order it had mustard and tomatoes, which is still not the reason for my frustration. So I go back and ask if they could please make the correct burger for me , which the cashier was more than happy to help me with. She then relayed the message to one of the girls working in the kitchen. This employee was so annoyed that I asked for my order to be corrected she rolled her eyes and started stomping around like I had done something wrong knowing that I was looking right at her the whole time. Her entire attitude and reaction was disgusting! I can't understand how you blatantly behave this way when every customer can see you! Still the cashier kept apologizing letting me know she had made an error in the way she put in the order, to which I was still not mad about , mistakes happen. Finally I get my order and it is still incorrect!! At this point it's been almost 35 minutes of standing around , I'm starving and have to board my flight and I was already super upset with the way I was treated by this employee, I don't know her name , but she definitely should not be working in the service industry! The burger itself was not bad at all but this awful experience made it really hard to enjoy!

Yelp
The food is good but I had an issue with one of your employees being rude not just us but to everyone. At the food court they don't take your order so you have to use the self order option . Most of us were having issues with it specially this older lady she said she was not used to new technology. Liliana the employees rolled her eye at her when she asked for help . So did we . She was rude we even thank her thank her and so did other amd she never said your welcome . It's a shame to have such bad experience

Yelp
Order a breakfast hat sandwich to take on my flight. No one in line so the place was NOT busy. I asked about my sandwich... said she was working on it ... well, not exactly ... she was working on a fellow employees spinach/egg sandwich. I finally told her that I couldn't edit any longer because my flight was boarding... so there went $5.40 for a breakfast I will never taste... but her coworker got her breakfast. Austin airport food court disappoints again.

Yelp
God, just the absolute worst pre-boarding experience. Slow. After 15 minutes of waiting, I asked the useless drink pourer how long it would take for my order. She said a minute. 5 more minutes go by and I announce my flight is boarding and I need a refund because I can't wait any longer. Then they call my number and I grab my bag. I open my order at the gate and it's the wrong one. I take it back to them and they belittle me and say because I was in a rush I grabbed the wrong order. (I grabbed the bag they gave me with my order number announced. This caused the guy who's order I got (was meant for), to start yelling at me, saying it was my fault. The line cooks start talking crap about me in the back for me to hear. The stupid place gave me the wrong order!!! So unprofessional, and tear-inducing. I didn't even eat their stinking food to review it on that level. Zero stars. My refund was even shorted 2 dollars, and at that point I was like, whatever just get me the heck away from this place. Go somewhere else, seriously.

Amy R.

Yelp
Everyone is standing around and the staff is rude and not helpful. You guys know better than this Hat Creek is usually ontop of it and has great service. Your ABIA folks need some training.

Yelp
fucking sucks, forgot my order was cold they HANDLED MY FOOD WITH NO GLOVES and were super mean

Nathaniel P.

Yelp
Ordered a big hat. Added cheese (extra fee), onions (free), jalapeños (free), and the premium sauerkraut option (extra fee). After a few minutes, they called out my number. They said my food was not ready, but was told not to "pack" my burger with toppings in the future. Burger was very good, as were the fries, but since I'm not allowed to order it again apparently I won't be back.

David F.

Yelp
Normally love Hat Creek, but at the airport they charge $3.24 for a 16oz fountain drink (with ice mind you) and then don't offer a single free refill? Really?? Refills putting you out of biz? Hat Creek - come on, you are so much better than this.....I thought

Marylee L.

Yelp
Overpriced on the burgers. Nothing comes with it. Fries are separate. Bun is smaller than the burger. At least use a sesame bun, there a little bigger. I would not recommend this place in the airport. I will though recommend Annie's. Bistro Burger includes fries and boy is it delicious.

Chris B.

Yelp
Slow orders, wrong orders, clueless employees. crowd of angry travelers late for boarding.
