Absolutely Disgusting Experience – Avoid This Place at All Costs I genuinely don’t know where to begin because this was one of the most degrading and uncomfortable experiences I’ve ever had in a restaurant. I never leave reviews like this, but the way I was treated here—especially by the man running the place—was so appalling that I feel a responsibility to warn others. I walked into the restaurant and asked a woman working there if they had a restroom I could use. She smiled politely and said, “Yes, it’s just in the back—you’re welcome to use it.” Nothing unusual, nothing that gave me even a hint that I’d be screamed at moments later. I used the restroom, which—by the way—was disgusting. The floor was wet, there was toilet paper all over, the sink was grimy, and there was a sour smell in the air like the place hadn’t been properly cleaned in months. But I shrugged it off, washed my hands, and came out, only to be immediately confronted by a man I assume is the owner or manager. He stormed up to me, red in the face, and started screaming—screaming—about how I had no right to use the restroom and that “this isn’t a public bathroom.” I was absolutely stunned. I tried to explain that the lady had told me it was okay, but he wouldn’t let me speak. He kept raising his voice, saying, “People just come in here thinking they can do whatever they want!” and “This isn’t a shelter!” It was completely unhinged. His tone was aggressive, hostile, and downright cruel. I felt publicly humiliated. Everyone in the restaurant turned to look, and I was so shocked I could barely get a word in. I wasn’t loitering. I wasn’t rude. I hadn’t even said anything more than “thank you” to the woman who directed me. But here I was, being screamed at by a man who seemed to take pleasure in berating someone just trying to use the restroom they were told they could use. It was horrifying. And here’s the kicker: the restaurant itself is filthy. Sticky floors, overflowing trash bins, grimy tables, and a general stench of neglect. If they spent half as much energy cleaning their establishment as they do verbally attacking innocent people, maybe it would be worth stepping into. But clearly, basic decency isn’t on their menu. I walked out shaking, embarrassed, and frankly, in disbelief. I have never been treated with such disrespect or aggression in any public space—let alone a place that supposedly serves customers. This man’s behavior was completely unacceptable, and no one should have to experience what I did. If I could give zero stars, I would. Stay far, far away.

We just celebrated my mom's birthday and it was great. From the moment I walked in, everyone was smiley, accommodating and helpful. The girls serving were so sweet and pleasant. The best service! Live music was amazing. It was like having a private concert. The whole place felt, homey, positive, happy, pleasant and inviting. The food was good as well. I love the interior design. The whole experience was memorable and pleasant. Thank you for the amazing experience.

We had booked a place for a birthday. We went there, they said they didn't have the food we ordered. There were almost 4-5 dishes, they said they didn't have anything else from the menu. I complained to the owner, but instead of apologizing, he shouted and behaved very rudely. It's a very bad restaurant, I wouldn't recommend it. NEVER EVER

First time trying Armenian food and it was AMAZING! The environment was so fun and the staff so friendly and gave us the recommendation for what to eat. Would come back!

So yesterday I went for my grandma‘s birthday there And my mom reserved a table one week ago and my mom especially said not to be next to the door but when we went there, the people put us next to the door, even though my mom requested not to be next to the door And one of the baddest thing that my mom didn’t like is that there was they allow smoking there Bad service and when we ordered the food, it took them one hour to come, and when we ordered that, the waitress didn’t understand the menu that was written in English but one of the best things that was there was the singer that was Grigor Mirzoyan and there were no parking space we need to park outside very very low class restaurant!!!

Total rip off, had 40 guests and they provided 1 server and surprised charged me for $460 “service charge” that was not included when we booked the venue. All guests complaint about the service but food was ok. By the way there is no owner or management, you have to book it with the cook or one of the servers, at least mine was that way. And also they treat you like you owe them something not that you are the customer. Please learn some customer service skills and don’t give people attitude.

I lived in Armenia for several years and this place definitely made me feel like I was back again. The kebabs and ikibirs were super good! Food was pretty quick and we were in and out in less than 45 minutes.

My son picked me up the Khash today , it was very good! Perfect amount! It filled me up so well, that I haven't been able to eat anything else today! It was very delicious!! The service was good. My son said the place made him think of Armenia!! It was the best!! Will definitely be going back! Highly recommended!!

This is a place where you go for great Mediterranean food and ambience. The dishes are authentic and the service was prompt. You feel like you are in a small quaint village with people you have known for years. I suggest trying the lamb chops or the sturgeon fish. The salads and side dishes are fresh and delicious.

One of the best authentic Armenian restaurants in LA. The service was great, the general vibe of the restaurant was amazing, but most importantly the food will leave you wanting more and more. Everything is fresh and cooked to perfection. A must stop LA restaurant.

The food and service were excellent. We had a medley of kebabs and appetizers and they were all very tasty. Our waitress was wonderful and she made the experience very pleasant. Will definitely go back.

This was our first visit to Hatsatoun restaurant, which offered fantastic food and live music by Grigor Morzoyan The meal was also delicious, and we had a lovely night and would definitely return.

What more can I say, this place is great! You have amazing food, live music, amazing interior design. What more can you ask for? 10/10

in reply to Hakob N. Firstly, my review was posted on October 6th and you replied to it on October 22nd. It took you 16 days to discover the negative review and react to it, which demonstrates how much you "care" about your business reputation and clients' reviews. Secondly, there are plenty pf other negative reviews of your restaurant besides mine. Thirdly, if there's anything that confuses the people or prevents them from visiting your restaurant, it's the poor quality of your service and the attitude of the staff, and not my or anyone else's negative review.

My girl was looking for an Armenian restaurant, so we made the drive from the Inland Empire and were are so glad we did. From walking in to a quaint little village scene to be greeted by the owners in a very warm manner, we were delighted by the menu. Oh my goodness does not say enough, everything thing were ordered was quite simply delicious. I have never had such good lamb and the salad was off the charts. I could not give them and the restaurant a higher rating. If you are in Glendale, it would be a mistake if you didn't stop in.

I came here on a rainy day which was perfect for xash. The soup tasted homemade and it came with fresh lavash. We also ordered a salad and fries. Both really flavorful & fresh. The service was fantastic. Everyone was really nice and we got checked up often. Such a nice family restaurant. We will be coming back!

Food was good and the people were funny. The rice is soooo buttery and the chicken was succulent.

Hatsatoun is one of the best restaurants of Glendale in California. A real family cooking and atmosphere. You will be always willing to return to Hatsatoun for great food, nice music and excellent service.

My friends and I went here for dinner the other night and it was great. Wonderful food and wonderful ambience. The chef/owner went out of her way to make us all feel welcome which was very nice. Dug the singer too!

Wow, where do I begin?!! This is truly one of the greatest restaurant in Glendale, hands down. The quality and freshness of the food is what makes this restaurant stand out from the rest. Their variety of meats and fishes are always perfectly seasoned & marinated, very succulent, and cooked to perfection. Their appetizers are equally delicious. The service they provide and their attention to detail is always first-class, and cannot be matched. The restaurant ambiance, design, and décor is astonishing. Server Toma, the floor team, chef Nelli, singers Grigor Mirzoyan & Ruzanna Hakobyan, and owner Karen, fully epitomize what 5 star service is all about.

I'm from Spain and always craving lamb shops that bring my tastebuds home... well this place has amazing lamb shops and the customer service is like your home... a must try

I thought the food was great and the people were very friendly. Got the chicken kabob sandwich and had a great time! They brought out extra fries and some sweets on the house. The vibe inside is impeccable. Would go again!

The best Armenian cuisine ever!!! My friend and I enjoyed the food so much. They had the best Armenian bbq and kabobs. Unfortunately we are only visiting California for a few days but this is the only place we loved and can't wait to come back to try more of their amazing food The service was also amazing. we felt so welcomed and felt like home.

My bf and I were looking for Armenian food on Sunday night, and the more popular spots were all booked for Father's Day. Decided to try Hatsatoun and we were not disappointed. It was a bit awkward at first as we didn't know it was more of a banquet hall and not so much a traditional restaurant, but they were very welcoming and accommodating. We tried ordering a few things off the menu but were informed they were for parties only, but they checked with the kitchen and gave us a list of available items to order. We decided to try the Armenian salad and the red trout. The salad was delicious with the juiciest ripest tomatoes I've had in a looong time, and the trout was cooked to perfection and served with fresh dill and lavash. I was really impressed with the food and their hospitality, and would love to come back some time with a larger group so we can order more off them menu :)

Customer service is awful here. The server, who was lounging when we walked in did not greet us and when we asked for menus she said we don't have any. She basically came up to my table and said "what do you want". I asked about fish and kabob options. She responded with "do you want to know prices" and I said no. Then she proceeded to insult me by saying " you might not want to spend this much on fish" First of all, your job is to be a server not my accountant or advisor. Also, why are you encouraging me to not spend my money here???!!??! I decided not to dine here. The wet carpet smell combined with her ignorance was enough to make me leave. How can you run a business with staff like that? DISAPPOINTING and a waste of my time. Go to all the other fantastic Armenian restaurants in glendale. This one's a joke and it's not even funny.

Nice ambiance. There was live music. Food was good. We spent relaxing time. Staff were kind. The only thing be careful of the entrance door as it is heavy and tends to close on you.

I loved it, the food was delicious. Once we walked in we could hear the sound of amazing live music. We walked in during lunch time and was greeted with excellent customer service. If you're in the area don't be hesitant to try this tasty Mediterranean food. Will definitely be back!

Loved the food, the service and the entertainment here at Hatsatoun! Luisa is my favorite!! She is very sweet and attentive. A very beautiful place that took me to Armenia for the night! I highly recommend this place to anyone looking to enjoy a traditional Armenian night filled with Armenian food, friends and entertainment!

Disgusting service. They should all be ashamed. We walk in with family on Tuesday night wanting to have a nice meal. We chose a few items from the menu but the waiter came back with WAY more than we ordered, both food and drinks. The food kept coming and we thought nothing of it and thought it was all part of what we ordered. We get a bill at the end and saw that they charged us for all the extras that was brought to us without us ordering or asking for them. Most of the appetizers were left untouched and the bottles of sodas were unopened as it was not ordered or even liked by our tasting. We were so upset and asked the owner to explain to us why he brought out items we hadn't ordered and we're charged. He had the audacity to tell us that just because he brought them out it didn't mean we had to eat it and he was simply planning to take the uneaten items back and not charge us. ( I guess they reuse their food for other customers). We will never go back as they tried to outsmart us by overcharging. We were by the way the only occupied table at the restaurant and I guess they saw us as their only means of making money that night. Pathetic!

This restaurant was a sweet surprise. The cook Nelly is affable. She comes to you and takes your order and makes it so special. The food is beyond delicious flavored just right, served hot just the way I love it. It looks like you're in a village in Armenia with all the effort they've taken to make it appear like that. it's our go to place any time we are in Glendale. We have been here several times, and the food has been consistently, savory and fresh. It's clean and warm and welcoming.

Food is amazing, fresh, good quality products. Got the beef kabob plate with fries, was delicious. Prices are very fair for the quality of food, service was very friendly and on point. Overall my favorite restaurant for takeout in the area.

Wow -- this place is far out! 2 Stars for the experience. I walked in to an empty restaurant that wreaked of tobacco smoke. An old man approached me gruffly and stared into my eyes. He then shouted angrily "Yes?! can I help you with something?!" "Oh, uh, I was looking to eat here?" "Eat?! Only you?!" "Yes please. Could I see a menu?" The old man then disgustedly picked up a menu and tossed it at me. I decided I'd rather not get my clothes wreaking of tobacco, so I left. Totally an experience though.

Enjoyed this place a lot. Highly recommended. Nice staff, amazing food and very nice music. Never had Armenian food as good as this cuisine has. Come try it out yourself!

Great restaurant! Super fun, came here for a birthday and was provided with a great meal along with music and a belly dancer. my family enjoyed it very much and definitely recommend. Our waitress Louisa was very sweet and on top of things as well

Didn't expect much since it's hidden away in a little strip mall of generic businesses, but wow what a pleasant surprise. Fantastic spot with an amazing atmosphere that steals you away from the outside world for a spell. The food was excellent and absolutely worth the wait. Our server was very helpful and patient with us, answering all the questions we had about cuisine neither my girlfriend or I had tried before. The perfect way to be introduced to something new. Definitely will be returning with a full party to share this experience with as we had far too many leftovers. Would highly recommend the Ker U Sus.

Thought we would try this for lunch. We really enjoyed it. The Chicken was perfect, I had the cheese for starters which was really good. The the stroganoff which was a bit salty with too many fries. Overall we liked it

The customer service is absolutely awful. I work at a nearby community center and came in just wanting to share a flyer of our free and convenient resources and the woman who attended me made me feel like a total fool! We spoke different standards of Armenian (eastern/ western) and rather than ask me to slow down or repeat myself, she told me to speak Armenian? So rude. I wouldn't recommend this place to non-Hayastanci's to be honest.

5/5! The food here is absolutely delicious. The service was great. We came here with the family to celebrate a special occasion and had a great time. We ordered osetrina, lamb chops, and more delicious barbeque. This place is a must if you haven't been here. Thank you!

Food is amazing !!! the chef is great. My favorite is their chicken breast and lamb chops. They are finger licking good. Can confidently say best lamb chops in town ! Their side dishes are also amazing. Worth trying, you will definitely want to return. The music and atmosphere is also perfect with the theme of the restaurant. The owner and staff offer great customer service and make you feel at home. Definitely try this place!

DISGUSTING SERVICE!!The staff was very unprofessional and rude. The staff also made rude comments toward the guests and tried to make their own decisions, although they were being told otherwise. The portions of the food was too little compared to the price that we paid. They wanted everyone to finish as soon as possible so we could leave because they just didn't want to serve. Absolutely do not recommend going to this place!!!!!!!!!

Authentic Armenian cuisine with no outside influence . Doesn't get better than that, gotta try there ker yev soos, it's mixed peppers with for fries and chicken grilled so so delicious, also there lamb chops are phenomenal

I celebrated my birthday at this restaurant on Saturday, December 14th. Wow, the service was top notch and great! The food was even better from the selection of appetizers such as the eggplant salad to the different kabobs we ordered...every bite was delicious. And the roasted potatoes are to die for ... that delicious! I highly recommend this restaurant and will definitely return!!! Thank yo Hatsatoun restaurant for making my birthday a great day.

I would not recommend this place to anyone. We had a party of 35 people there, and their service was terrible. They charged us a lot compared to the food we were served. We ate xash that was average, followed by BBQ that was too salty and the portion was too little compared to the price we paid. I would recommend to do better research before you organize parties in this place. Very unprofessional and poor service and management, and very rude waiters. I would not go to this place never again!
