"While Hattie’s has been the place in town for Southern food since they opened in 1938, they might be equally known for the lively gatherings that happen on their patio after days at the horse-racing track. Even if you’re not in town for the ponies, you can dine in the original front room, which hasn’t changed much since its origins, with old photographs adorning the walls above casual checkered tablecloths, or head to the back bar where fake moss dangles from the ceiling. The menu includes classics like hush puppies, peel-and-eat shrimp, and gumbo, but you absolutely must order the fried chicken and a homemade biscuit. Add on some sides, like the mashed potatoes and cajun coleslaw, and consider getting your chicken “Nashville hot,” which has just enough heat to please spice-lovers without making you full-on sweat. And if you’re here for brunch, the Bloody Mary is one of the best in town. " - lauren breedlove

This place is legendary and definitely worth a stop while you're in Saratoga if you want a good quality soul food meal. The prices reflect how venerable they are in an area with fairly high food prices, but it's worth it. On our last visit, we started the meal with hush puppies and the biscuits and corn bread basket. The hush puppies were great, maybe slightly greasier than they should be, but it's fried stuff, it comes with the territory. The corn bread was nice, more of a savory corn bread (they do provide jelly and honey butter), and the biscuits don't have a lot of rise but have all the flavor you want. Pictured here is the fried chicken and ribs combo. Fried chicken is probably their most popular dish, and it is great. It looks like how it tastes. The ribs are maybe a bit too tender and saucy, but flavorful. The mashed potatoes I got were perfect, and the collard greens were a fantastic version.

We recently ate Sunday late lunch at Hattie's in Saratoga Springs. We found free street parking right outside and were seated immediately at a table inside without a reservation around 1 pm. I started with the pimento cheese and toast points, which were tasty though the toast was conventional. For my main course, I had the four pieces of fried chicken and grits. The fried chicken was crispy, crunchy, and juicy. My husband enjoyed the special veggie scramble. The service was friendly but not too attentive. I was never offered a refill of coffee. The atmosphere is casual and homey, perfect for a relaxed meal. Overall, Hattie's provided a decent dining experience, and we don't regret stopping here on a road trip. Highly recommended for anyone in the area!

We had a great meal here! Never been disappointed. The portions are huge! Everything tasted delicious! The atmosphere definitely fits the cuisine which was fun. We got seated right away. The profit goes to charity! Great food and for a great cause which is a win win.

The food was great! I am from Alabama so this definitely reminded me of the "soul food" I am familiar with. The catfish was great, as well as collards, red beans and rice (beware, the sausage is very spicy), green beans, yams, and cornbread. The tea was awesome as well. Highly recommend.

Google
The best fried chicken and other authentic Southern food. Great backstory on Hattie. Atmosphere adds so much. I love it here and bring visitors all the time. One of the best places in Saratoga.

Google
In Saratoga Springs for work and I've asked the locals about where I should go to eat. Numerous people mentioned Hattie's so I pulled up, tried out a few things and here's how it went! Atmosphere/Appearance: This place is ALL ABOUT THE FOOD and none of the fanfare. I dig it. This place has been around FOREVER and it has kept its charm. I can totally respect that. The front dining room is a pretty decent size, but this place is located downtown Saratoga Springs so space is limited. There's so much history strewn all over the walls that give way to the red/white checkered tablecloths. Lol. The bar is small, however... If you go out the back of the dining room you'll get to a hallway where the bathrooms are and you'll pass through into a sort of "speakeasy" that transport you back into the south. The atmosphere back there is more lively, the bar is bigger and the focus is more on the alcohol. Service: I can't remember who took care of me, but she was awesome. The recommendations were great, she was patient and made sure I had everything that I needed. Food: So while I was here I was able to check out a few things! So when you get the FULL PORTION of Hattie's Famous Fried Chicken it comes with a breast, wing, leg & thigh. It also comes with 2 sides. I was able to split my order into 1/2 traditional and 1/2 Nashville Hot. The skin was so crispy, crunchy and the meat was incredibly juicy. The flavor was a lil' oily and a bit spicy, but that's the nature OF Nashville Hot. I also had an order of their red bean & rice, a southern stable. They come served side-by-side on the same plate, though I'm used to them being mixed together. It was a bit spicy, about a 3 on my scale. My other side was the Cucumber Salad with consists of red onions, cucumbers and various seasonings. It was deliciously vinegary, crunchy, soothing if the food was too spicy and a bit pickle-y. Last, but not least, was the original recipe! The skin was even crispier since there wasn't a sauce on this piece. The chicken was incredibly juicy and left me speechless honestly. It was so hard to describe the flavors, but they were SO WELL BALANCED. Value: Everything I had costed my $26.00. It was absolutely enough for 2 meals and I think this place has an excellent value. In conclusion, I really loved this place. A hack I learned while here is to eat your chicken OVER your sides so that when the skin flakes off, it falls into your sides and boom, more seeeeeasonin'. Lol. Check this place out whenever you get the chance!

Google
The fried chicken was so nicely crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. The mac and cheese was rich and creamy and not at all overwhelming. Also had the fried chicken sandwich which was just ok - didn’t have the crispy consistency I expected and the seasoning was a bit much. The baked beans and rice were also so-so, lacked flavor. Would definitely come back for the fried chicken and Mac!

Google
Hattie’s is about about perfect- I see why it’s been around so long. The food is pleasantly familiar southern dishes without being heavy or salty. The staff are friendly and gracious. After several meals during a short stay in Saratoga, I can say every item was fantastic. The fried chicken is famous for a reason, and very light on crust. The ribs are soft and tangy. The shrimp and grits were smooth and delicious. The prime rib is steakhouse quality and a seriously good value.

Yelp
I have had the original Hattie's hot chicken in Nashville and this one does not disappoint. No relation but the chicken and waffles is spot on! Nice tender and juicy. Waffles are light and fluffy. Big shout out to the hostess and the waiter. I came in early on a Saturday night and they were able to accommodate me. They were kind enough to let me know the reservation was for 7:30pm and would I be able to comply? Now that is some great training and intuitive thinking by the hostess. Also the waiter was great. He came and checked in on me enough without being too intrusive and got me in and out very quickly. Another must try here I. Saratoga!!

Yelp
Was in Saratoga for a one night work trip. The group was looking for a dinner spot and my friend who grew up in the area told me to check this one out so I recommended it to the group. Everything about it was excellent. Well decorated. Food was all excellent. I had the Nashville Chicken Sandwich which was just really really good. Even the kettle chips were great. Beer menu was good, but they were out of the beer I wanted (Abita Purple Haze) and they switched the one I ordered with one some else had ordered and we didn't realize until halfway through so that was unfortunate. Would absolutely come back and would recommend to others.

Yelp
We went to Hattie's 10 years ago and enjoyed it so much we wanted to dine there again. BUT it was quite disappointing. We were specific on the phone that we had a small dog. (9 lbs) while making a reservation. We knew we couldn't eat in the indoor section but they also had a back section that was tented and open. When we arrived they said the back was unavailable and they stuck us in a side alley. We went along with it and then dealt with bees flying in our food etc. Please be aware that they are not pet friendly and that the accommodation for a pet is poor. By the way the service was awful also. Never again.

Yelp
Visited on a Sat morning at 1020a -- without a reservation but the hostess let us know we can have a table now if we can be done in an hr. Done. I had the corned beef hash, which was a special. Good char on the hash. Eggs were good. Expected texas toast but got plain white. Wish the portion was bigger but it was good. Had a sidecar which was good. My friend had the 4pc chicken meal and said it was great. He had to take the chicken breast to go. I wish I had that. The place was about half full at the early hour. There is a bar with a small dining room. Make a reservation if you really want to make sure.

Yelp
Cozy little niche restaurant with a simple, well-rounded menu. The service was good and the food was served pretty quickly. We ordered the Fried Chicken Sandwich with the Cajun Coleslaw and the 2-piece Chicken Dinner with collard greens and red beans and rice. The coleslaw was a surprising addition and why I ordered the sandwich. It was a tad dry, so perhaps a little more dressing to compensate for the breading, but the flavor was great. The collards and red beans and rice were tasty compliments to the fried chicken. Additionally, we ordered a basket of the biscuits and cornbread as a starter. While I was not wild about the cornbread, those biscuits and that honey butter! YEP! Amazing! For dessert, we had the pecan pie and a Swiss cake roll and were good. All desserts, we overheard are made in-house, so we thought that was a keep fun fact.

Yelp
Off the main drag but close to where you want to be. Interesting menu and unique so if you're looking for a change of pace, this is a great choice. Fried green tomatoes were excellent appetizer. I had the chicken Cobb salad which I enjoyed and my wife enjoyed the crab. George was a good waiter but covering many tables. Atmosphere was authentic and fun. We sat inside but the also had bar seating (fairly noisy) and outside tables.

Yelp
This is our go to for delicious fried chicken. While it used to be better, it is still delicious with a great story to tell. Stick to the basics! You'll love it.

Scott R.

Yelp
Outstanding fried chicken, crispy and juicy. The coleslaw I didn't care for but the again I'm a traditionalist when it comes to those types of foods Best fried chicken I've ever eaten

Tim K.

Yelp
A Saratoga landmark. Not the fanciest, not in the heart of downtown, certainly far from the most expensive, but absolutely one of the most delicious chicken meals you can get at a restaurant. Another trip to Saratoga and another fine meal from Hattie's. Super friendly people, very fast at getting your order, and very attentive throughout the meal. We got the chicken dinner and the salad with chicken. Both were fabulous. Too much chicken dinner for me to eat in one sitting so I got the rest to go. The side of sweet potato fries were also fabulous. On your next trip to Saratoga be sure to stop by this landmark. Whenever I get asked if I've been to Saratoga, inevitably I get asked if I have been to Hattie's!

Yelp
Not for me bc I dont eat chicken. Most items in the menu has chicken. I was w a group after the tracks so I went w the flow. But I hear it very good if you like fried chicken. The cocktails were weird, not good. You're better off getting a can of beer. The jambalaya was soooo huge, it a good share dish. I did find an item I could eat, pulled pork sandwich. It was ok. Service was amazing though, friendly, courteous n somewhat attentive.

Dina V.

Yelp
Mothers Day avec Birthday brunch joy at Hattie's. As soon as I walked in I realized I've been here years ago. Well this time I ordered the Cadillac of Bloody Mary's. Theirs comes with candied bacon a whole friggen fried chicken wing and olives. It was a joy. The service was terrific even though they were so so busy. I also had the shrimp and grits, this dish brings the heat in a good way. Hubs had the fried chicken and waffles. We closed with the banana pudding. Yummy yumm yummy.

Yelp
Disappointed in the food, which came highly recommended. The collard greens were SWEET, they tasted like someone dumped a cup of sugar into the pot. They were inedible. I have lived in the south for a very long time and I have eaten collard greens prepared by many different chefs from many different parts of the south, and they are not supposed to be sugary sweet. They are also supposed to have bits of ham hock in them, but they were devoid of any kind of meat. The chicken was dry, and the Nashville hot was very lacking... I felt very bad for the bartender who had to deal with an aloof busboy stacking crates of clean glasses on the edge of a 10 gallon bucket, with significant overhang, which inevitably caused the entire crate of glassware to fall to the floor and break. It was 100% not the bartender's fault, and then the busboy continued to do it. Our table was directly overlooking the bar and I got to see the whole thing. It was so chaotic and disorganized. It was very disrupting to our meal. Our server was the best part of our meal, he was very gracious and attentive (I wish I knew his name...blonde guy with a beard), and he also witnessed the whole scene with the glasses breaking and looked a little bit irritated yet unsurprised, as if it happens often. It's a shame, because the dining room and back porch area are very cute and very much my aesthetic decor wise...

Yelp
This Hattie's location is a sit-in dine in restaurant. Not your typical casual Hattie's. Apparently it's also the first Hattie's location that opened. If you're looking for Hattie's shack, you can drive a few blocks down for the other location. Yes we went to the wrong location Hattie's. I prefer Hattie's other locations tbh. This location was really small for indoor dinning. There was an outdoor patio for diners but the heat was unbearable to eat outdoors. The indoor dinning area is very small, the bar took up 1/4 of the space in the small dinning area. There were probably 7-8 small tables there. It wasn't very spacious esp if you have a large party. WHAT WE ORDERED Fried chicken platter (2 thighs (dark & white meats), 1 wing, 1 leg) Ice tea The platter was enough food for my dad and I to share as afternoon sneak before walking around downtown Saratoga. There wasn't any grilled chicken at this location, only the Hattie's shacks serves it. Service was okay, I didn't expect anything more or less.

Yelp
We just came back from a fabulous dinner! Their first Sunday night open of the season...the fried green tomatoes were outstanding, with their homemade ranch dressing...I had the fried Catfish, what's not to love about that? Husband had (for the first time) a Nashville Hot, so tender and juicy and crisp! Nick was so very knowledgeable about the area, and he and my husband even knew the same wrestling ppl way back when! The interior is clean and decorated so nice, reminded us of Sylvia's in NYC...a definite return when we are back n the area again!

Matthew D.

Yelp
A taste from the south! An amazing restaurant that looks beautiful with foods that taste just as good. Wow, the food here is spectacular and it's definitely a top Saratoga pick. I ordered the Jambalaya once again and it never disappoints. The flavors are so vibrant and it has the perfect mix of spice and goodness. The fried chicken is also great, I highly recommend the chicken sandwich. The chicken coleslaw combo is great and the side chips are so crunchy. Along with the food, the service is also top tier. The servers are phenomenal and the bussing crew is also so helpful.

Tommy C.

Yelp
Place is dope. Really good food and a great little restaurant. Fried Green Tomatoes with the homemade ranch was great. Nashville style fried chicken was also excellent. Great collard greens. Painkiller drink was strong and tasty. It was a hot night and we sat on the patio so it was extremely warm but it kind of fit the vibe of a Cajun restaurant.

Alex B.

Yelp
My first experience of the evening was the $14 pumpkin martini special, which literally was served in a laughably small glass. At around $3 a sip, I honestly didn't care about its taste - that drink needs a bigger glass or a lower price. While the fried chicken is very good here, the jambalaya isn't. It's got quite a kick to it, but lacks overall flavor otherwise. Stick to beer and chicken here.

Chris G.

Yelp
What is not to live about this place?? The atmosphere, staff, food choices, drink choices and music selection is perfect. The Bloody Mary with candied bacon and a chicken wing is fantastic. The back porch lemonade is sweet and goes down quite easily. The ham hash is a large portion of deliciousness with thick ham and sweet potatoes. The candied bacon is sweet and salty.

Meghana A.

Yelp
I actually was expecting it to be something like Hattie B's Nashville but this is your average upscale KFC ... the care is very inviting, decor has a kool vibe to it. It's definitely your spot if you like fried chicken. I love spicy chicken so Nashville hot chicken sandwich was my go to option without second guessing....honestly I was expecting it to be hot, with a spicy kick in flavor but it was such a let down the spicy rub was melo perhaps even sweet. Nonetheless the chicken was well done crispy juicy and tender. I don't think I'd be back here... it's not them.. jts me... lol. If only they had SPICY chicken ending to this review would have been a lot different.

Carlos H.

Yelp
Stopped by Hattie's for a Saturday brunch. A great experience with great food and service. We had a few drinks and the daily scramble and quiche. Max was a great server and made sure the experience was a great one. Stop by if you get the chance.

Chris B.

Yelp
I was lucky enough to have the chicken made by Hattie herself. She eventually catered my Grandmother's birthday, we loved her and her food so much. Unfortunately, the food they put out now is a sad imitation of her love filled food. It seems the recipes have been lost to trying to impress patrons with fluff. So sad.

Ashlee D.

Yelp
Hattie's reputation precedes itself! My husband and I stopped for Sunday brunch and I was nervous about the possible wait time but we got seated right. The Bloody Mary was tasty but surprisingly small for $11. I would think $8 would make more sense for the small size. My husband had the chicken and waffles, I had the chicken with cheesy grits and we shared an order of their biscuits. Yummy! I can't wait to go back for more. I would like an option of having some spicy cheesy grits. The highlight was the staff. It felt collaborative. Everyone I saw working offered us help, asked if everything was ok and was friendly. This includes the chef/owner! He took time out of his busy Sunday morning service to personally check in on each diner. Now that is a man that cares about his food!

Georgiann C.

Yelp
Nice outside seating. Food ok. Prime rib a little overcooked for medium rare. Other entrees, very good, especially fried chicken. A little ridiculous when it comes to add on costs. Also, one check, can only be divided in half. Had to figure out ourselves, not very customer friendly.

Denise L.

Yelp
unfortunately, I had a bad experience at Hattie's in Saratoga this evening. My sister took me there for my birthday. I wish I had stayed home. The food was cold, so we asked the waiter to warm it up or give us some hot chicken. he said OK not a problem, now the problem comes in when he comes back to the table not even 10 minutes later with our food the chicken was not done all the way to the bone. It was crispy on top and soggy on the bottom and the string beans were not cooked thoroughly. They were very hard and chewy . We told the waiter about it. He brushed it off. He proceeded to pick up our plates with our food still on it did not ask us If we wanted our food or should he throw it out. We told him we would like a fresh piece of chicken packed up so we can take it home , but we want a different piece because that is not done. He takes the plate put it all the way close to his dirty shirt. He has facial hair from his beard hanging all over the plate. His hair was long and not tied all the way back so the front of it was hanging all in the food. We mentioned this to him. He looked dead at us, and said no, you must be mistaken. He came back to the table with a piece of greasy chicken in a white paper bag and handed it to me and said here's your chicken breast. I was totally disgusted. I asked a young lady that worked there to get the manager for me her presentation and her lack of respect for my sister and I was utterly disgusting and unnecessary. She asked what happened we begin to tell her, surprisingly every word that came out of her mouth was in defense of the waiter. She had no remorse, no professionalism, and no respect for anything that we had to say. She said sorry you feel that way, She stated it's so crowded tonight we are trying to get the food out. She offered us dessert to make up for the horrible food and disgusting customer service. We declined the offer. She did not say another word to us she walked away. Then the same waiter came back to the table to give us our check. ($88.38) He stated don't forget your chicken. This is not my first time going to Hattie's in Saratoga, but you better believe it is my very last time ever going into that restaurant ever again. I did not take the chicken that was tossed into a greasy bag because at this point, I was scared to eat anything that they gave me. I was afraid they had done something to it in the kitchen. With the lack of respect that they showed us and the nonchalant attitude, I would never eat anything in that restaurant I would be afraid. This really saddens me because I really really liked their food and their customer service up until today. Worst birthday dinner ever.

David C.

Yelp
Went to Hattie's restaurant for dinner during Saratoga restaurant week, with the 3 course prix fixe menu. The choices were great, and our meal, started, entree, and dessert were delicious. Also the front of the house crew, the host, our server Max and the busser were great, friendly and attentive. There is parking nearby

Ashley R.

Yelp
I must be completely honest. This place is wrong on so many levels and very strange. Yams were not candied yams, more like not cooked fully through. The collard greens tasted like sugar in a bowl. Also if you are reservation based business then don't take walk ins . Perhaps just advertise as reservations only. It is not a good feeling to feel the breath of servers and management alike. If the owner was one of the individuals rushing to ensure we finished then shame on you. The only minorities in the restaurant and thats the treatment? No other table was visited in the same manner to ask if they needed "help" Don't think A revisit will ever happen. Just because your news clippings use words such as "diversity" , doesn't particularly mean it is in fact implemented.

Greg H.

Yelp
Just a really good quality and fresh food. Fried chicken is outstanding...some of the best around. Have tried most everything on the menu over the past yrs.....and it's ALL GOOD.

Michael O.

Yelp
What a treat Hattie's was! It made our weekend at Saratoga even better! The staff were super friendly and accommodating from the moment we arrived. I had read a number of reviews and couldn't wait to try for myself. I ordered the famous chicken sandwich, and boy it did not disappoint. It was so big and the chicken was cooked perfectly and the flavours were amazing. My group ordered a couple different things. The fried chicken plate that was enormous! Shrimp and grits had so much flavour from the south. And the chicken fried steak breakfast that was also giant!! All the food was delicious and everyone cleaned their plates. The place is really charming inside and well decorated and seems clean. This place is a must if you find yourself lucky enough to have made it to Saratoga Springs.

Maddy W.

Yelp
We went here last night with reservations, and I'm glad we made them! It was busy as expected on a Saturday night. The Hostess was very nice and got us to our seats after a small wait. To eat- we started with the hush puppies and we loved them. The butter was so good. No complaints there. I got the Nashville fried chicken sandwich with chips! It was so tasty! Not too spicy and a generous size. My boyfriend got chicken/rib sampler with coleslaw and cucumber salad and loved that. We each had to awesome margs too. $112 for everything. We have been to the Hatties in Wilton by the mall multiple times and it was our first time at this spot. We will be back. We loved the ambiance and small feel.

Yelp
The chicken was fried to perfection!!! I had no grease in my bun!!! it was big pieces of chicken breast that was crispy and when you bite into the meat you can taste how fresh and flavored it was the chicken was. If you want a crispy chicken sandwich and some sweet potato french fries this is the place to go

Ken F.

Yelp
Maybe back in the day this place had good food but our meal was terrible from the tuff badly prepared fried green tomatoes which we sent back, the chicken was tasteless meat with over salty coating , mashed potatoes tasted boxed. Very over rated and please stay away. Worst soul food ever . Server was the only plus

Emery M.

Yelp
The hush puppies rely on butter to be good or tasty. Other than that they were dry and tasteless. The chicken and waffles were OK but one of our plates had some weird plastic under the waffle. Can't really be to mad at them there because they did remake a fresh one and take it off the bill. My girlfriends Mac and cheese was tasteless. It was like they used 1 kind of cheese with some flour to maybe thicken it up but overall we all tried a bite and agreed it was tasteless. Edible sure but not like delicious. Our 4th got a spicy chicken sandwich, which she said was pretty tasty. She asked for the Nashville hot, apparently a step up from how spicy the sandwich was originally, and said it was more than she expected but liked her food. Overall it's not like an awful place, but we won't be going here again where there are so many other choices. Also everything in here is quite tight. They definitely pack it in so not the most comfortable either.

Yelp
Missed the morning rush and was seated quickly on a Sunday (mid morning). Daughter had fried chicken & cheesy grits and I had biscuits & sausage gravy. We shared an order of beignets and candied bacon. Everything was scrumptious *except* the candied bacon, which was way too salty for our pallets. Would absolutely recommend and will be back to try more items off of Hattie's menu.

Yelp
This is the best fried chicken north of the Mason Dixon line. If you're in Saratoga Springs you need to make this place a must stop! It is authentic southern soul food!

Yelp
Spectacular sides and world class fried chicken were the highlights. Tables are a bit tight so pre-prepared to make some friends. Southern hospitality exuded by hostess and servers.

Yelp
Second time coming to Hatties. I think when we came it was an off day. We got there before they opened for Brunch on Sunday. We ordered the deviled eggs which are delicious! The fried chicken was good.... a little bit more peppery than we remembered, but still good. I ordered a waffle to go with a piece of the chicken. The waffle was horrible!! Gritty, weird flavor, soggy... just an all around disappointment. We don't live in the area and made a special trip on the way home to eat at Hatties again because we remember how good the food was the last time. I hope this was a one off day because we loved it before. If you're nearby... give them a try!!

Yelp
Quite possibly one of the most disappointing restaurants I've ever been to. I give every restaurant a fair chance and never let simple mistakes ruin its chances for success in my eyes. Hatties is at the top of every Saratoga Springs visitors guide and was featured on several YouTube videos I watched in prep for my long weekend. The wait staff hadn't been informed that we were seated so we waited for 15 minutes to be noticed. I had to enter the restaurant to ask if we could get water and request a waiter. I asked the hostess if we could sit inside (in an effort to get waited on and warm up). She told me that the tables were unavailable though there were at least 4 small empty tables. We waited 30 minutes for a table on a rainy Sunday morning on MDW. We were seated under the tent in the alley area next to the restaurant. String lights and plethora of Mardi Gras beads set the stage for a laid back southern joint. However, the food and drinks were disappointing. The chicken and waffles comes with a bone-in breast and a deep fried drumstick. I was confused as my boyfriends chicken sandwich was the same chicken with no bone. The waffle that comes with the chicken and waffles was falling apart and was barely warm. The best part, honestly, was the pure maple syrup. My partners chicken sandwich was thick and had dripping cold slaw on top. It was OK, pretty disappointing. The home fries that came with his sandwich were cold (like, right from the fridge) and had the strangest combination of cheese, garlic, and pepper (?) that had no compliment to the sandwich. The back yard lemonade was 80% Smirnoff and 20% ice. After one sip it was left on the table, undrinkable. Very disappointing and way too strong for an 11:30 brunch. I love the concept for Hatties and wish this place had stellar food that lived up to its name. Unfortunately I would not recommend this restaurant to friends and family in Saratoga. I wish success for Hatties and hope they can overcome the challenges of keeping the Louisiana natives legacy alive.

Yelp
Terrible service. Unacceptably expensive. Thru do not deserve to be supported by local communities or anyone else

Yelp
One of my favorite places to visit when I'm in Saratoga springs. Delicious cocktails and amazing southern food. Come hungry, this place always delivers!

Yelp
fried green tomatoes are always excellent (5 rating ; )!!!! but the keylime pie is horrible (zero rating)!!!! it tastes as if someone poured 2 cans of sweetened condense milk on top of brown sugared grahams and into a pie pan with some lime shavings...maybe there's a couple of yolks!!!??? very ververy disappointed on father's day weekend visiting from new jersey!!!! i will have to go back to bread and basket congress street for real keylime tarts...sorry!!! hattie's is my spot for food though. i threw away my $9 slice!!!!!

Yelp
Of course had the chicken!! It was well done, crunchy and everything fried chicken should be. My son had the biscuit and liked it almost as much as his grandmother's. I had collard greens - they had a bit of sweetness that was unexpected and good. I have to say, I did not love the coleslaw - it was spicy in a good way, but the flavors did not work for me. The mojito was terrific - not too alcohol-y. It's a cute place, service was good and it was not pricey, so I say winner-winner, chicken dinner.

Yelp
Heard a lot about this place and it did not disappoint. Plan on coming back again the next time I'm in Saratoga. The chicken is a must.

Yelp
Loved this little restaurant, it's not on the Main Street just a short couple blocks away walking. It's cozy inside , and the food and service was quick and delicious. Everyone in my party was satisfied with this restaurant! It's Creole inspired soul food!

Yelp
We visited Hattie's for Saratoga's yearly Chowderfest. The outside patio is a great spot, I can only imagine how fun it is in the warmer months. Their chowder was super tasty! With the smells of fried chicken wafting out of the building, I can only imagine how good their food is! The bartenders were super nice (especially "Sal Baby") and they pour great drinks. Great spot.

Yelp
Hattie's has been living off its rep as an authrentic Souther fried hen restaurant for years! It's not: black-eyed peas from a can; greasy fried chicken; soggy French Fries; nothing like hype!

Yelp
Nice selection of very good Cajun dishes, plus their famous fried chicken. Can be noisy and tables are close together, so we usually try to go on quieter nights vs. Saturday. The gumbo is the highlight, and the mojitos are tasty, too!

Yelp
I decent brunch spot if you want to satisfy your chicken and waffles cravings. Unfortunately the flavor for it fell a bit flat and I had a bit better elsewhere but if you want a fulfilling heart breakfast yeah this is the spot for that.

Yelp
Sometimes you go to legendary eateries and the food is solid, nothing special, maybe has a hint of what made the place a mainstay. I'm so so so glad to report Hattie's is NOT one of those spots. Every single thing we ate here (and we ate here twice this weekend) was above and beyond. It makes sense why when I said I was going to Saratoga everyone told me to go to Hattie's. The fried chicken is incredible. So incredible. The skin was truly the stuff of dreams. Like wow. I'm never going to forget this meal and fantasize about til I get to eat it again. The drinks are great, exactly what you need after a day of losing at the track or winning at the baths. But what made this 5 stars was the service. Came in late on a Sunday night and they treated us like VIPs. Our server Sydney was an absolute delight, as was our busser Chris. This was a glorious experience thanks to Chris and Sydney, and I can't wait to spend more money here (important to note that it's deeply affordable for this town in the summer).
