Haugen's Chicken & Ribs Barbeque

Had a great experience here tonight. Wonderful server (Angela). Food came out quick and hot. Loved the country harvest dipping sauce, didn’t really care for the original bbq sauce (tasted like tomato soup?). Chicken and ribs were both tasty, reminds me of Swiss Chalet. The coconut cream pie was amazing. Glad we made the stop.

Such a lovely, cozy restaurant. It feels very nostalgic (although it was my first time visiting). There is a window at the front of the building where you can watch the rotisserie chickens roasting before entering the building, which is a fun feature. The dining room is very large with lots of seating. Staff were friendly. The food was very good, and the whole place smelled amazing! I got the chicken and ribs with fries and the country harvest sauce, and it tasted like a much better version of Swiss Chalet. Our wait time felt a bit long, but I think that just shows that they make everything to order, so it is fresh! Our food was HOT when it arrived. We got pies for dessert. The fresh strawberry pie and the strawberry rhubarb pie were favourites among my family. I will definitely be returning when I am in the area again.

A really good experience. We were there off hours, so it was somewhat empty. However, it feels like the kind of place that is packed after Sunday church. The place is HUGE - enough seating for a couple hundred people. The food was hot and the service was very good - reminiscent of a diner where everybody knows everybody. You will NOT leave here hungry. Portions are generous and good quality.

A country kitchen setting where the ribs fall off the bone and melt in your mouth. The chicken was excellent too. We had the best coconut pie to top things off. It was home made and about the best we've had. The service was excellent and super friendly. My wife and I will make this one of our regular stops.

This old fashioned rotisserie chicken spot is a must-try! Every bite is delicious. What really sets this place apart, though, is the friendly service. Grace made recommendations and was super considerate. It’s the kind of place you’ll want to come back to again and again. Highly recommend!

Spacious country diner. Ribs were tasty. Pies were amazing; tried the coconut cream and strawberry rhubarb Friendly staff. Great little spot near Port Perry.

We both had the chicken sandwiches and they were very filling and delicious. My friend also had the strawberry pie, which looked so good I had to try a bite even though I was so full from my meal. It was soooo good! The berries were delicious and fresh and this is the perfect desert for a hot summer day. It wasn't busy, so we were seated right away, our waitress took our order quickly, and our food came out hot, fresh, and fast. Waitress was very personable and pleasant. Not sure what the portion sizes are with other dishes, so I can't speak to all the comments that the sizes are too small, but ours were just right for a grown man and too much for me! I would visit again if I'm in the area.

This place is awesome that’s all I can say. Take a nice scenic relaxing drive from the City and visit yet another great family run restaurant. Casual with plenty of seating and an awesome staff that always seems happy to serve you. Prices are reasonable, portions are good and the food is fresh and delicious. Fan favourites are the Chicken Noodle Soup, Juicy Rotisserie Chicken, Fall off the bone Ribs, Coleslaw, Fresh Cut Fries along with their warm homemade sauce. Oh and try to leave some room for their Coconut Cream Pie, it’s a winner. 2024 update goes down 1 star unfortunately as prices have increased and the food quality and portions have decreased as well unfortunately. Still nice but it used to be much better before. Hopefully they can get this fixed and provide a better value to their local customers.
