"This beautiful guild house on the Münsterbrücke bridge, only a stone’s throw from the town hall, dates back to 1348, as does the unique 11m-wide wooden barrel-vaulted ceiling in the Gothic Room. Dishes are based on seasonal ingredients and include classics such as Zurich-style veal and mushroom ragout in a cream sauce. Less expensive menu at lunchtime, plus a selection of dishes available in the modern bar with a terrace." - Michelin Inspector

The overall experience was absolutely brilliant. Food quality, service, ambiance - everything was to the highest standard, especially considering how touristy this area is. I can specifically recommend beef tartar (get the spicy version) and lamb rack. Amazing! Kudos to Nikola the waiter who made this evening especially great.

Outdoor seating with iconic views, memorable food and outstanding service this was the best dining experience I had in my 14 day European vacation. I highly recommend you dine here. ♿️ accessible.

This is a very special restaurant ❤️ we celebrated my mother's 70th birthday here tonight. The food was amazing and the service couldn't have been better! Alex did a great job suggesting dishes we wouldn't have chosen ourselves. The UNSER ZÜRIGSCHNÄTZLETS was perfection 👌 They also brought out a birthday surprise for her that made her day! I highly recommend for any day but especially for a special occasion!! You won't be disappointed!

Food was delicious! And the atmosphere is really nice too--the upstairs restaurant looks like the inside of a beer barrel.

Wow, what a treat I gave myself when I decided to sit at the table of this restaurant. Exquisite typical food prepared with quality ingredients. Friendly and smiling stuff that made my experience even better. Towards the end of my meal a couple came and asked the waitress whether they could order a drink only. I thought about going to their table to tell them that, by not ordering food, they had no idea what they were missing. Highly recommended!

Loved this place. We both had veal and they were delicious. Prepared differently but very flavorful. The service was fantastic. Great staff who were friendly and made excellent suggestions. I highly recommend this place if you’re in Zurich.

Such a cute and cosy restaurant, the food was very fancy and wine selection was awesome. However be careful because some portions are significantly smaller than the others. The iconic Swiss dishes are safe and good options. Not the prawns. The waitress was helpful however she wasn’t very friendly and didn’t speak very good English. The prices were expensive but the food was fancier than other restaurants in the area. Still Worth a visit as the wooden room was very welcoming and homely

Top-notch experience. The food is mouthwatering, the place is cozy and authentic and the service is extraordinary. The waitress was on top of her game, she paid attention to the smallest details, chapeau bas. Highly recommended.

Yelp
Excellent ambience, lake front. Expensive food, as everything in Switzerland most especially that it's located at the town center. Food is good though. We stayed until the closed the restaurant. €100++ for 2 persons.

Yelp
A Michelin-starred establishment situated at Limmatquai 42 in Zurich, Switzerland, Haus zum Rüden provides diners with an exceptionally distinctive gastronomic encounter. The restaurant is located within a 14th-century historic structure, and its interior is adorned with traditional Swiss motifs and exposed wooden beams. Popular with both locals and visitors, Haus zum Rüden is renowned for its inventive fare, impeccable service, and sophisticated ambiance. Although the menu at Haus zum Rüden fluctuates with the seasons, the following are signature items: This dish, which features black truffle shavings and seared scallops accompanied by truffle vinaigrette, exemplifies the restaurant's dedication to utilizing premium, fresh ingredients. While the scallops are cooked to perfection, the truffle vinaigrette is opulent and savory. Slicings of black truffle enhance the luxury of this dish, which is already extravagant. Spring onions, pancakes, and hoisin sauce accompanied by Peking duck: Modernization is applied to this traditional Chinese dish at Haus zum Rüden. The duck is perfectly roasted, and the pancakes are delicate and thin. Hoisin sauce and spring onions impart the word with a subtle balance of acidity and sweetness. Vegetables stir-fried with black pepper sauce, and Wagyu beef constitute an exquisite gastronomic experience. The black pepper sauce is flavorful and spicy, and the Wagyu beef is exceptionally tender and juicy. The vegetables, when stir-fried, impart a vibrant hue and a sense of freshness to the dish. Mapo tofu with rice is an essential Sichuan dish for those who enjoy spicy cuisine. A fiery and savory chili bean sauce is utilized to prepare the tofu. The rice serves as a pleasant counterpoint to the dish's piquant flavor. Haus zum Rüden's dessert of deep-fried ice cream infused with black sesame seeds is an exceptional and delectable way to conclude a meal. Sleek of vanilla ice cream is encased in a black sesame seed crust that is rendered crisp. Simply put, the contrast between the sweet and savory tastes and the hot and cold temperatures is irresistible. Haus zum Rüden provides, apart from the main course, a tasting menu showcasing the chef's most recent gastronomic creations. A selection of wines from the restaurant's extensive wine list--more than 600 varieties from around the globe--is paired with each tasting menu item. At Haus zum Rüden, the service is impeccable. The knowledgeable and attentive staff goes above and beyond to ensure that each diner has an unforgettable experience. The restaurant also provides an assortment of private dining options for special events. In its entirety, Haus zum Rüden is an establishment of international caliber that provides patrons with an unforgettable gastronomic encounter. Elegant and refined in ambiance, the food and service are both of the highest caliber. It comes highly recommended to anyone in Zurich seeking a banquet venue for a special occasion.

Yelp
Everything here was killer. Found this place by chance while floundering around the waterfront. Posted up in a front row seat and was promptly served the beverages shown in the photo. Waiter was great....we wanted to sub out fries for a salad or grilled veggies. When asked if we can do that, his only response to this request and our other requests was "Whatever you want." That is how I would run a restaurant as this is so opposite of what you might sometimes hear..."no substitutions!" My Old Fashion was served with a baby carafe of soda "just in case" it was needed. Then the food started to hit with Bruschetta and avocado topped with egg and two raw ham floaters on each side. YES. Ravioli entree' and Schnitzel entree' were both the bomb. It got cold so just before the entree's hit we moved inside with no issue. I avoided upstairs since this place is located in some 14th century semi Gothic building and was run by some medieval dick weeds for a few hundred years who did not like the lower class, so I did not want to go in too deep. The downstairs was really nice anyway:) See photos and you can view the transition from outside table to inside table if so inclined.

Yelp
This place makes the best old fashioned in the world. Even though it's a Michelin restaurant, we were able to move our reservation on a Wednesday, due to being stuck in traffic coming back from Zug. We asked for chef's selection with four courses, and everything was amazing. The bone broth as a course was so hearty, loved it! The koji fermented rice dish for dessert was so delectable. Will come back.

Yelp
This is hands down my favorite restaurant in Zürich. Right in the river and lovely atmosphere. The food never disappoints. I especially love it for the customer service. In a city where some times Americans are not treasured, they have always been so accommodating and polite. In a city where they don't use the tipping system, so often business owners act as if they are doing you a favor, allowing you to dine with them. Not this place. They treat you like a customer and are happy to have you. Bonus.... They have English menus and the staff I've had wait on me speaks English.

Yelp
Meh. Underwhelmed. Menu wasn't that extensive. Minimal (1 white and 1 red selection) wine selection. Celery soup was okay but we weren't impressed by the menu so we dipped out early. Outdoor seating right near the river which is great but lit of places have that. Service was good. Complimentary bread with olive oil. Overall, average. Go check it out but I think there are better restaurants out there.

Yelp
Stopped and ate on their outside patio while in Zurich. Authentic food with a nice flair. Fun to sit out side and people watch while enjoying some great food.

Yelp
We decided to try this place because of the nice location on the water. Turns out that is likely only busy because it is a tourist trap. We decided to play it safe by ordering the soup of the day, a club sandwich, and caesar salad. The soup was pumpkin bisque, but tasted like a cream soup with bot much more flavor than that. The club sandwich was covered in mayo and we couldn't even finish more than a piece. The caesar was very plain with a ton of watery dressing. Nothing was good! Then a bee made a home out of my iced tea and we decided to switch tables to get away from us. The server was very upset as he took this to mean we didn't want to pay for the tea, but it didn't really matter considering the service had already been bad the entire time.
