Hadn't stopped into Hava Javae in ages! But had just gotten a blowout at Drybar just next door and had to walk away with a coffee. They have an extensive menu and they're happy to really adapt to make you anything you want. I was greeted by both individuals in there and was quite chipper about it.
On the left side of the pictured menu (which I will take A pic of next time) there seemed to be some specialty drinks, and as I was on a Zoom celebrating Hispanic Heritage month, I opted for a Mexican Mocha (which she let me know they add chocolate, cinnamon, and milk of choice to) with oatmilk. I noticed the oat milk is $1 more as opposed to the .75 for almond, soy, coconut alternatives. She said "it's a hot commodity these days" - she wasn't lying. Nonetheless, I grabbed a medium and it was a large plastic cup. The large is extra large, and the small still looks pretty sizable compared to other well known coffee spots... I always ask for light ice because I don't like my cup to be filled with ice more than coffee, and she was glad to do that, and asked for a smaller pump of chocolate, so as to watch my sugars. She made it quickly, and it was definitely yum. Wasn't the best Mexican mocha I've had but the cinnamon was wonderful. I couldn't tell you what was missing, don't get me wrong, it was definitely delicious but I was ok.
It was so delicious in fact that I ordered another with an extra shot and half sweet for my friend as a surprise and she LOVED it. She said it was perfect and was absolutely going to wake her up.
The service and coffee were tasty. And I heard a woman rant about how it was one of the first coffee shops open in Phoenix! So there is a long standing history with the place. Come try a cup, and try the Mexican mocha and let me know what you think!
