Food is always excellent…a little pricey but the quality & larger portions are well worth the $. They have a covered outdoor dining area as well as spacious indoor seating. They sometimes have live music from local performers which provides an exciting atmosphere. My favorite Cuban Bar & Grill perfect for a night out with dinner, drinks, & fun!

I decided to try Huvana Rumba today for the first time and I am so happy that I did. The food is 10/10, atmosphere is lovely and the service is quick and as friendly as it gets. I ordered the Cuban coffee to start, it was strong and very good. For dinner I got the ZARZUELA DE MARISCOS, a Traditional Spanish aromatic seafood stew. It was DELICIOUS and so flavorful, may have been the best soup I’ve ever had + it was a ton of food!!! 🥘 the plantains on the side were cooked perfectly, very yummy & sweet. My boyfriend ordered the SANDWICH DE PESCADO, a Grilled Swai fish fillet on a soft bun. He enjoyed it. I ordered the tres leches cake for dessert to go, I’m excited to try it. Overall the vibe of this restaurant is very festive and happy 😊 we had a great time and can’t wait to return to try more Cuban food. 🍲 Thank you! I came for my mom’s birthday this weekend on cinco de mayo, we got the shared appetizer plate and it was AWESOME!! She ordered the lemon drop 🍋 it was very good.

Google
This place is incredible! Service was fast and friendly. Our food came shockingly quick. I got the pollo con queso and it was absolutely delicious. My date offered me a bite of her flan, and let's just say I won't be coming back again without ordering that. I tried the jalapeño margarita, which was fantastic and beautifully presented with plenty of fresh jalapeños on top. Live entertainment on the patio was great--the singer had a lot of energy and was good with the crowd. Great spot for a night out.

Wonderful food. Fabulous house Margaritas. Attentive service. I wished I lived here, so I could eat here more often.

First time to this Louisville institution was amazing. Super friendly service. Food was mouth-watering and absolutely delicious. Restaurant clean and vibrant. This is a must-go!

Google
My family and I went there to celebrate my stepson's birthday. We wanted to try something different than usual. I ordered a Havana Rumba sandwich with sweet potato fries and they were delicious and fulfilling. All of our orders were accurate. We've received a great service from our server. 👍

Google
Came here on a Saturday night and I will say I was blown away! The service by Manuel was fantastic, the food was AMAZING, and the ambiance was on point. The have inside tables that’s can accommodate large parties, a bar with TVs so you can watch the game, an outdoor patio that is covered with heaters during the cold weather, and even live music. I loved everything about this place and was shocked that my service and food were so good during a busy time for them. I ordered the Pollo con Champinones and the Cuban Long Island, great selections from this place! Parking was heavy during the Saturday night rush, but it was well worth it. Good for singles, couples, and families. I will for sure be back anytime I visit Louisville!

Yelp
We dined here as a larger group over a recent weekend. This has always been a family favorite. In fact, we went because some out of towners were in and it's a favorite! Our group ranges in age from 2-early 80's. They are accommodating to all ages and accessible as well. Appetizers enjoyed were the usual vegetarian queso and tostones with chicken, as well as something new to us - the yuca bites. Everything was delicious! I had the pescado, an herb and garlic rubbed and grilled swai filet, which is also one of my two favorite dishes. My other standard is the pollo al mojo. Other items enjoyed at the table were kids meals of tenders and grilled cheese, both with fries. Tenders were fine but the grilled cheese was actually really good! Decent cheese to bread ratio, which is not always a given in a kids meal. The grownups had all kinds of entrees. Standouts are the Cuban sandwich, the vaca frita, and the masas de puerco. This has been a family standard for more than 15 years, way back before this location existed as a Cuban restaurant, and I was not sold on any other location but the "original". But they have grown on me, and I would recommend this restaurant to anyone, and I've taken everyone I have ever recommended a restaurant in town to!

Yelp
Excellent, as always: including consistent flavorful food and friendly staff. Love the grilled fish, rice with black beans, and plantains so good. And deliscious: opened at lunch time on Saturdays & Sundays. Family friendly too. My favorite!

Yelp
Vaca frita, 4eva! This location doesn't hit in the ambiance area for me, but Havana Rumba never fails when it comes to the food. I am always game for trying something new, but I love LOVE the vaca frita! And I usually end up with leftovers for another meal, so bang for your buck is here. And it tastes great! Also the chorizo queso with plantain chips....fabulous! I also love that I can swap out the sweet plantains that generally come as a side for yuca fries (I just...don't like sweet plantain...and I am glad to have options so I don't waste anything). Service is generally ok, and you won't be waiting particularly long for anything you want or need. Booze-drinks are delicious. And the space in general has always been clean. This location benefits from having a large parking lot, but it is a much more inconvenient location to me than other and previously open locations. Still, anytime someone suggests a meal here, I am always down for it!

Yelp
We were visiting from out of town and told to try Havana Rumba and I'm so glad that we did! Our server was Hector and he was amazing. He was very attentive and kind even after having another large party to serve. He offered his favorites which I had to try, the shredded steak with onions and peppers, rice beans and plantains and the cucumber mojito. The food was delicious and the drink refreshing! We also had the chicken empanadas that were light and favorable, paired well with that sauce! The service and ambiance were perfect for a Saturday night. And the live music was another great treat.

Yelp
What a great place to come to for dinner and drinks. The appetizer, food, and drink were amazing. Service was great and the place was slam packed hopping busy. They had live music on a Saturday evening, and the whole vibe was upbeat and on point. We will definitely be coming back!
google avatar

Yelp
Good food but for the price I'd rather go elsewhere. I try something new every time I go, and have never been disappointed in the food. I think my only disappointment these days is the cost vs environment. On the bright side the chicken nachos were massive, we made the mistake of ordering it as an appetizer for two people and got pretty full before our meals came. Would recommend as a single serve meal or a split app between 4 or so people. I need to come back during one of their drink specials, I think doing that plus an app would make me feel better about the money I'm spending vs the overall ~vibes~.

Yelp
My all time favorite and the seafood is off the charts good as well as reasonably priced compared to most places. I can't say enough good things about this place.

Yelp
Tonight we had dinner at Havana Rumba in Middletown KY. The food was delicious and the service was great even though they were swamped. As always the restaurant is decorated with the classic cars and pictures of Cuba. There was a live musician singing and families were having a great time. We started with the spinach and cheese empanadas which were crispy on the outside and gooey on the inside. My wife enjoyed a strong Cucumber Mojito. I had the De Pescado or fish sandwich and my wife had a pulled beef and veggie platter which she loves. I always recommend Havana Rumba when I have an opportunity.
google avatar

Kyle V.

Yelp
Wow! The food was fantastic! Their ambiance and decorations are great for a true Havana, Cuba vibe. The staff was wonderful and the live music provided a nice touch for the Hispanic feel. The queso was the best I have ever had! It's served with chorizo and pico in it to give a really nice flavor along with the fried plantains. Both main dishes, montadito de platanos and chimichurri steak was amazing. Flavor was excellent and the preparation was well thought out. We will definitely be coming back here!
google avatar

Melanie Z.

Yelp
I've never had Cuban food so this place was recommended by family who live local and we were not disappointed!!! Everything we tried was fantastic and the waiter was so helpful in recommending dishes to try. The live music was a major bonus
google avatar

Ray R.

Yelp
Everything about this place rocked... The whole vibe from the live Cuban music to the awesome waitress. The food tasted authentic and bursting with savory flavor. Also had a Cuban old fashion and it was amazing and I don't normally like rum. This place is a must stop

Yelp
Stellar experience. We were originally planning to get a takeout snack, but tonight was a beautiful evening so we opted for the well-appointed patio. So glad we did. Servers were on point. Vibes were good. Night was great. We ordered their Cuban sampler appetizer plate and a side of maduros. Literally every bite was excellent. I could get rhapsodic over it, but just trust. They're pros. The only critique I had is minor: their drinks menu. You'll find something you liked, so don't worry. But to me it felt dated while they could easily and correctly argue that they are catering to a wide range of tastes. Fair! Personally, I would simplify it and also bring greater emphasis to classic daiquiris (invented in Cuba more than 100 years ago). Granted, the 1980s were unkind to that drink with all the neon and sugar, so some folks may have misapprehensions, but that gives the restaurant the chance show people what it can be. Many thanks to the team. Grateful for the lovely evening.

Yelp
My husband and I came by on a Saturday evening and sat at the bar. The restaurant has a great atmosphere overall, although the bar is a little dark. We really enjoyed our drinks (mojito for him, red sangria for me) and love the fricase pollo entree with the side of fried plantains. The bartender provided friendly, prompt, non-interruptive service. We plan to come back for the half price drink specials on a Wednesday!
google avatar

Yelp
Great place! They have a big outdoor patio and the inside is really pretty! The music is so fun and definitely adds to the fun vibe. Love the colorful decor. I went in for lunch and had the ham croquetas and a cuban sandwich. The croquetas were tasty but the Cuban was excellent. The pork had so much flavor, the Cuban bread was authentic, and I enjoyed it. The sandwich came with sweet potato fries which I don't usually like. My waiter ordered them extra crispy for me and that made a huge difference! They were awesome. He also gave me some smoked honey which was really interesting - almost like a hot honey. I will definitely be back to try more of the really appealing menu.

Gina M.

Yelp
This spot was okay. I was hoping it was going to be a lot better, needed a bit more flavor. I got the Cerviche and I had to add tons of salt and pepper. We got the Cuban sampler and it was kind of the same. Bleh. The mojitos were tasty. I enjoyed the coconut mojito. Other items: there was a live dj that was singing and came by to sing happy birthday on the drums. Price: reasonable Parking: shared lot but no issues Service: it was ok. I felt like our server had more tables than he could handle

Yelp
We've been here several times, and it is consistently a good experience. The food is delicious and the service excellent. A few of the dishes we most recently had were the Pollo con Queso (grilled chicken strips with vegetables, served in a queso sauce), Steak Chimichurri (grilled skirt steak served with sauces on the side) and Masas de Puerco (marinated fried pork). All dishes were garnished with fried plantains and served with vegetables and/or white rice. Everything was delicious--the meat was tender, warm and full of flavor. Also, the empanadas are highly recommended! We have been here as a small group of 3-4, or a large family group (10+) with small children. The staff are always friendly and accommodating.
google avatar

Alan K.

Yelp
I haven't been here in several years- used to be a favorite lunch spot for me but they stopped serving lunch. The place is packed. We sat outside. Got our empanada quickly - they brought the wrong thing but we ate them - they were delicious. It took a while to get our dinner but the food was delicious. All and all it was a good experience. The place is hopping with live music. Get there early or you will be waiting in line.
google avatar

Gabriela D.

Yelp
The food is absolutely delicious! Their patio is wonderful and all the food came out hot and exactly how we ordered. The live music inside is loud but the right volume for a conversation on the patio. Definitely recommend to all my friends in and out of town.
google avatar

Yelp
Best Cuban in Louisville. I wish i discovered this restaurant sooner. Always delicious and priced reasonably. Live music is Sundays and very entertaining. I love the fish dish and empanadas.
google avatar

Mick B.

Yelp
Really good food. I was very surprised and would go back again next time in Louisville. Service was excellent and the recommendations were great! Very cool vibe and ambiance!
google avatar

Logan S.

Yelp
I cannot speak highly enough about this place! Service is always on point and the food is amazing. The drinks are delicious and strong. Hands down the best mojito in town and the margaritas are a must. There isn't a bad thing on the menu but my go to are the Vaca Frita, Ropa Vieja, lechon asado, and the garlic shrimp. You can't skip on the Tres Leches for dessert also!
google avatar

Phuong N.

Yelp
This place gets a lot of rave reviews and I can see why. The empanadas are a must here. The churrasco steak was very tender and juicy and also came with red and green chimichurri sauce; the green was tasty and standard but the red was new to me and had such a delicious amount of acid. Lastly, we got the fricase de pollo, which was kind of like a chicken stew and it was so amazing that I'm still thinking about it. So so good!
google avatar

Amber S.

Yelp
One of my favorite restaurants in Louisville for the past 10+ years. It's the most authentic Cuban restaurant that I've been to in the country. The food is always great and never had an issue with service. I also enjoy the patio and music in the summer. Some of my favorites are the lechon asado, quest dip, tostones con pollo. Sooo good!

Corey S.

Yelp
Always a great time and delicious food, especially when live music is playing, which seems to be most nights. Can't beat the classic ropa vieja, the margaritas are terrific, wonderful appetizers. Can't beat it!
google avatar

Amanda M.

Yelp
LOVE this place! The food here is consistently good. The Tostones con Pollo (green plantains, smashed, fried and covered in cheese and chicken) and the Rumba Queso are great starters. Our favorite entries are the Pescado a la Parrilla (grilled fish with sweet plantains, rice and bean soup) and the Lechon Asado (roasted pork with sweet plantains and congress) . The fish is tender and the grill marks give it the perfect amount of char. The pork is succulent and practically melts in your mouth. Both are excellent choices. We have not had a bad meal here. The servers are attentive and efficient. The restaurant and bathrooms are clean. Highly recommended. Only negative I have is that often their music is so loud that you can't hear the people sitting with you.
google avatar

Maray R.

Yelp
As a cuban who lives in Miami, had to check this place out. They get 5 stars for decor and ambiance. Nice guy singing and playing at a decent volume where you can enjoy his music and still converse at the table. Bread and ham croquetas were good, garlic butter delish. I had Mojo Chicken with moros and sweet plantains. Chicken was flavorful, plantains were delicious and fresh, not hard like frozen kind. The moros I didn't like, too much cumin for my taste, some may enjoy. Tried white rice and wasn't too fluffy, a few pieces were firm. Heard beans were good. Had Havana Punch but couldn't finish it, very strong. Service was good. Definitely worth frequenting, next time will order something different.

Yelp
Wednesday Happy Hour with my girlfriends! HR has the BEST happy hour on Wednesdays! Half off mojitos, margaritas and sangria - $5 each! Can't beat it!

Yelp
No place like good ol' Havana Rumba. Never go wrong here. Just got to go early for a nice table and short wait time. 5-6:30pm. Frequent patron of the Middletown restaurant. But the Bardstown road location is great. Food is delicious, I have tried most dishes on the menu. Loved them. Drinks on point: stay for a pitcher of mojitos or two. Live music is entertaining. Children are welcome and have a menu. Chick tenders are delicious Price is very reasonable. Dishes are good portions Apps great Bread with garlic butter= yum (my 11yr old favorite) Deserts, tres leches cake was better before they changed it but still good Cuban coffee is delightful staff is so nice and attentive. They can get busy but will check in often. Only down side is, not a lot of vegetables. But it's Cuban not vegan. Have vegetables tomorrow. Hahaha. I love everything here. I always take home Fried plantains with my to go box!! Love next day left overs.
google avatar

Shannon V.

Yelp
Very loud, but great food. Pillow con queso was. The Rumba queso was added treat as an appetizer.

Yelp
Such a fun and festive place to eat! The food was absolutely incredible and the service was great. This was only my second time being here, the first about 3 years ago. I won't wait that long to come back again ;) I had my waiter choose my meal based off his favorites, and it certainly did not disappoint. It was so fun to get to try something different. My dad loves great Cuban good, so I'm excited to have this place to take him to. The food was so delicious, fresh, and full of flavor. Would highly recommend.

Sam M.

Yelp
Best Cuban food outside of Miami and Cuba itself. Always on a wait which is expected with how good it is. Very good food but it's not cheap. Been coming to this place since I was a kid and it's still excellent. Pollo a la melanse is excellent and is my go to dish. Very big menu all of which are excellent choices
google avatar

Kaleigh E.

Yelp
First time at the Middletown location and I can see why my friends choose that option. The patio was awesome, there was live music, and shade. Wednesdays they have 1/2 price margaritas and mojitos as well! Who could turn down a swirl?!

Eli H.

Yelp
The enchiladas were very yummy. Would recommend. It was loud in the restaurant but there was some amazing music.
google avatar

Dianne M.

Yelp
A fun place to go for a change of place. There is inside and outside dining and as it is very popular you might have to wait, but it is a short wait. The food is good and variable.
google avatar

Chanel F.

Yelp
Needed some nourishment and decided to come here. They have live music on Fridays the entertainment was nice. My waiter checked on us multiple times, was very nice and gave awesome service. I ordered a frozen margarita swirl it was topped with red wine sangria. Super amazing. Also ordered a shrimp appetizer called Camarones al Ajillo it was too good!!! Very flavorful. Ended up ordering some guacamole that came with plantain chips it was ok, it was missing something can't put my finger on it though. For my entree I ordered the pollo a mojo it was very flavorful even down to the rice. I definitely would come back! Because the service is great and the food is too.
google avatar

Shalisa S.

Yelp
Amazing food, good portions, and even better service. Live music and lively people. Would come back in a heart beat.
google avatar

Yelp
The food is great. The noise level keeps me from going back. Take out would be the way to go.

Yelp
This is one of those places where I ask Yelp for an extra star or for an exceptional rating option, something that can put this restaurant over the other 5 stars restaurants. This may be a long one but hopefully answers all your questions. I've been going to their restaurants for a little over 6 years now and it has never disappointed. For me being from NKY the drive is easily an hour and a half and it is worth every second of it. Let me paint you a picture... You are welcome by the hostess, always inviting, friendly and willing to accommodate you without any hesitance. Then you are greeted by the waiter, which up to this point each and everyone of them look happy at their job, contrary to MANY other restaurants. They bring you the glasses of water for the table, a basket with warm Cuban bread and a garlic butter; At this point you may start asking for an order of bread to go just for your morning coffee the next day, that bread with a little butter, to die for. Cuban bread like the Puerto Rican bread from which I am from are just completely different to any other bread. The Food: To summarize it. EVERYTHING is good! We have tried at least half of the menu throughout the years and I cant remember one time when I said ' I dont like it or meh! have had better' It's always good!!! , everything feels fresh, well seasoned, great portions, always on point. Personally my Favorites are (Tostones con Pollo, Cuban Sandwich, Vaca Frita) but I always try to get something new to change it up because I am confident that it will be good. Since it is so far for us we always go around lunch time, get a couple of drinks, eat and order a couple of plates To Go for dinner. The Drinks: Each and everyone feel authentic; The Ultimate Mojito... Get yourself two of those and you are good to go! Cuban Punch and Mar Azul are great as well. Desserts: I am not a fan of sweets overall but I have tried from my wife's plate multiple times, the Flan and the Tres Leches are really good as well. Overall its always a great experience, love it when someone is celebrating their birthdays and they play some instruments while singing. It is a most, they have multiple locations in Louisville including one with Tapas which I still haven't tried just because we like this one so much... 100% Highly recommended.

Yaneli E.

Yelp
When I tell you Deborah and her trainee went above and beyond is an understatement. The food came out great and the service was outstanding. Would definitely be coming back!

Carolyn D.

Yelp
I just love this place. Comfortable. Lively. Great food served quickly. Drinks just fine. This is totally one of my default places!
google avatar

Kristin B.

Yelp
This may be my new favorite place in the entire state of Kentucky. Who would've thought you could get amazing Cuban food in Kentucky?! All the food came out hot, fresh and authentically flavorful. Everything we tried was phenomenal. Worth the drive from Lexington to Louisville just to visit this place again and again. The atmosphere is energetic. Make sure to have plenty of time however as they stay so busy that it may not be a great choice if you are looking for a quick bite. The service was friendly and attentive. The tamales are to die for! Best I've ever had in my life. Make sure to leave some room for dessert as well - it's just as good as the rest. The portions are bountiful for the price. I cannot say enough good things about this restaurant. There is outdoor seating on the patio as well.
google avatar

Janie J.

Yelp
Food is amazing and the staff is quick pleasant and efficient . I had the fish. When it came out wasn't expecting a verde sauce but to my pleasant surprise it was delicious! Now one of my favorite dishes.
google avatar

John B.

Yelp
What a gem! Very lively scene. Live music...and I was here on a Tuesday night! So fun. Killer menu and drink selection. You could come here every day for a month and get something different each time. I had the red sangria, chorizo con bacon mini skewers (lol toothpicks), two of the three types of empanadas, and as I wrote this review, I was making sure to save room for flan y cafe Cubano. Great for singles at the bar, or large groups. Mucho gusto!!!
google avatar

Liz M.

Yelp
I'm not sure if this place is authentic, but it was very good. I got the steak with rice and plantains. I love the rice here and the flank steak is nice and thin. The Cuban sandwich is delicious. I love their patio during the warmer months.
google avatar

Renae D.

Yelp
Wow. I'm not sure what took me so long to try this place?! Now that I have.. We will most definitely be going back. I got the raspberry mojito for starters which was so refreshing & had the perfect mint, alcohol & raspberry ratio. I usually never drink all of my dinner cocktails but I sure did this one! I got the chicken pollo Asado It was a perfectly seasoned chicken half with rice , black beans & fried plantains. The black beans were so creamy and flavorful. Maybe my favorite of the dish. The plantains were the perfect combination of sweet & tangy! Ask for their hot sauce. It was a nice touch with the chicken. My little sister got the Churrasco Chicken sandwich. She got hers without tomato & onion. She loved hers. It's a pretty big sandwich so she saved the other half for later. The fries looked good & she loved the honey mustard served on the side. Great & efficient service. We will be back! 10/10 Recommend :)

Yelp
Whenever we are in the area we always stop by. The food is delicious, no matter what we have ordered. Best Cuban food we've ever had.

Marian B.

Yelp
We love, love, love Havana Rumba! The food is excellent, reasonably priced, and has something for even the pickiest of eaters. The specialty cocktails have always been refreshing, good wine, and beer selections. Service is good, but can be slow when the restaurant is busy so just order a beverage and enjoy the atmosphere. We have enjoyed all of the locations under the ownership of Marcos Lorenzo and always take our out-of-town visitors for a different taste treat.
google avatar

Lorie L.

Yelp
It's been a few years! Havana Rumba used to be a frequent spot with family and friends so when my husband and I found ourselves open for a late lunch we took advantage of enjoying their patio. The patio is nicely covered and with several fans (or heat lamps) plus white lights for the evening. I opted for the empanadas appetizer, 2 ground beef with dipping sauce. I also asked for a half house salad with ranch dressing. It comes with a spring mix, tomato, cucumber, cheese and avocado. My husband decided on the sampler appetizer which was an excellent choice for a meal. He got a variety that included an empanada, croquettes and tamale. We got the guacamole and requested different chips because my husband is allergic to plantains. Server was lovely and took good care of us. We had a great experience coming back.
google avatar

Nikki J.

Yelp
One of my favorite places to eat in Louisville. The food is always great and the drinks.
google avatar

Jeremy J.

Yelp
I met a few friends up here one evening after work and we got a few drinks and had some Havana rumba. I have never had this place before so I was interested in trying it out. I got the Cuban sandwich with fries and it was pretty good I must say I did enjoy the bread on it and the meats were put the pool and good. I enjoyed my time the music was fun it was a little loud for my taste the dude was really going at it with the bongo drums and singing loud so I made it hard to have a conversation with my friends but overall fun place
