The 19 Best Restaurants In Homestead - Miami - The Infatuation

"If Salvador Dali wanted to open a Cuban restaurant, it would look like Havana Spice. The parking lot is full of sculptures of cows, golden pigs, and a shark with blood oozing out of its mouth. At the entrance, you’re greeted by knights in plate armor and a guitar-playing robot made out of car parts. The Cuban food here is pretty standard compared to the aesthetics. We like the crunchy and juicy chicharrones. The vaca frita is crispy and garlicky. But because this is a surrealist restaurant, be a little different and get the Homestead special instead: Havana Spice’s vaca frita covered in mojo sauce and sandwiched between two soft pieces of Cuban bread." - virginia otazo, ryan pfeffer

Google
Their Lemon-mint juice (smoothie?) was wonderful. The Pan Con Bisetc sandwich was very large and very good. The avocado salad was also very good. Sweet plantains appetizer was perfect. Beans and Rice side was good. The beans were well seasoned. The service was great. We would definitely re-visit this place to explore other things on the menu.

Google
Awesome little spot in Homestead. Seemed like authentic Cuban food, I’ve never been to Cuba so I don’t know! But very delicious. Service was excellent. We actually sat outside and glad we did — inside was freezing cold and the outside tables were very nice, under the awning with funky lights, very nice ambiance. Variety of protein options: beef, pork, seafood. Sweet plantains hit the spot, I had been craving some all weekend!

I ventured into this place because other restaurants were closed on Christmas. I had never been there. It looked kind of weird from the outside but my friend and I decided to try it. We were seated immediately, took anout 7 minutes for a waiter to co.e. the young man took our order. I got the milanesa steak with moros and fried green plantains, my friend ordered the vaca frita with moros and fried green plantains. Took about 15 minutes for the waiter to come back and he brought only my friend'@ meat dish, took about 10.more minutes for my meal and his rice to arrive. No green plantains those came separately about 15 mi uses after we started eating. While the meats were good, the rice was awfull. IT was dry, sticky low in salt and not very tasty. The meat portions were generous, we both ended up taking leftover food home. Price: for our meals, no drinks, appetizers or dessert, including tip (15%) I ended up paying $70 and some change. I found that for very basic Cuban food it was overpriced. The appetizers were almost as expensive as a regular dish, that was pretty crazy. I can get better food for less money at other Cuban restaurants in the area. Will I go back? Most likely not, the food was not enough of a motivation to make me go back there. Recommendation: change your recipe for moros/congrí it was really awful. Try to bring all the food at the same time not in parts. Do something about the pricing of your appetizers.

Had a great meal here on a Friday afternoon on their patio. Huge portions and everyone in our party enjoyed what they ordered. Beats a chain restaurant any day!!

Google
Worse than jailhouse chow priced as a Michelin Star Restaurant. The ground beef (picadillo) was watery, with no olives and tasted awfully. I couldn’t swallow the Vaca Frita; it was soggy and flavorless. The “crema” de malanga had the consistency of soup and tasted like raw flour. And the yuca was just a soggy puree. The only item that was tasty and appealing and didn’t end up in the trash can was the pineapple and mint juice. However, the price was prohibitive.

Google
This is a small but cozy restaurant. The food is delicious and the services is outstanding. I asked for the palomilla bistec with fried plantains, rice and beans and it was soft and delicious. Some may find it pricey but I think it is definitely worthy.

Google
We recently moved to the Keys. We came to Homestead for groceries. Drove by this unique looking place. Turned around to take a better look. So glad we did. Beautiful place amazing food. Their Cuban special is top notch. Will be stopping in again many times in the future.

Google
The portions are large. The food was delicious and fresh. The service was good. I've come a few times now. It's always delicious. Sadly, the prices are now much higher, making it out of my budget. But, if you're in this area, definitely go, at least once.

Yelp
First off portion sizes are enormous, don't order more than a dish per person and even then they're definitely shareable. I'm really glad the waiter let us know that our original order was going to be way too much food so we reconsidered and got a steak, a chicken filet and a rice dish. Between the 3 dishes + tip we were looking at about 120 dollars, which I do think is too much. Yes the portions are large, but you could halve the sizes and quarter the prices or even half them really. Ultimately the steak was alright, my friend ordered it medium rare and it came out well done, not much of an issue still went down easy. My chicken dish was pretty good. The fried rice we ordered was massive and a bit on the saltier side. Not every bite was salty, but some bites definitely needed a hefty swig of water to go down. As for ambiance, we sat outside and it's a comfortable area to sit in. We did happen to be there during a small passing shower, but the area is covered so it wasn't so much of a deal. Service was great. Our waiter was nice. No complaints there. I'd recommend eating here, but I'm not sure if I'd personally return.

Yelp
Yum! Best Cuban food we had outside of Calle Ocho (we tried three Cuban restaurants on our long weekend in Miami and this was a close second favorite after our favorite in Little Havana) We went at an off time (4pm on a Saturday) and got seated right away. This is my ranking of the experience: Cafe Cubano 10/10 Cuban sandwich 7/10 Vaca Frita 10/10 (yum!!!!!) Maduros (sweet plantains) 10/10 Pechuga Rellena (rolled chicken breast with ham & cheese) 8/10 Arroz Blanco (white rice) 8/10 Black beans 10/10 Moros (mix of beans & rice) 9/10 Ambiance 8/10 Service 7/10 There's slim pickings of good restaurants in this area and I think Havana Spice is the best in the area!

Yelp
Worth the drive down south for some awesome and authentic Cuban food. Great atmosphere very traditionally Hispanic decor with color and creativity. Super attentive and friendly staff.

Yelp
Great Cuban / Latin cuisine spot with a long menu. I recommend the lechon asado or the churrasco-- both give you a lot of food and are full of flavor and well priced. The ambience is very Cuban, colorful, and vibrant. Great service with a smile and prompt. I love this spot and want to bring others so I will def come back.

Yelp
A local recommended this restaurant to us. We got two different types of food, and it seemed like they came from two different restaurants. Two of us got sandwiches, and they were good but not great. One of us got a chicken dish and it was incredible. So- order carefully! We sat out on the patio, which was eclectically decorated. It seemed like the inside was unique as well but we didn't see much. The menus had a ton of handwritten items added in, but some of them weren't on every menu. The servers were nice and everyone seemed willing to help. Our food came at very different times, but it did all come. As I mentioned, the sandwiches were good. My friend ordered a cream cheese, turkey, and strawberry jam sandwich, which was delicious. I ordered a hamburger that came with raw diced onions and potato strings. The meat was flavored and soft and not like an American hamburger at all, but very good. My other friend ordered a simple chicken dish that was spectacular. The portion was huge, the chicken was moist and flavorful, and the sides were amazing. Come and enjoy but order carefully!

Yelp
We had such high hopes based on the reviews and overall atmosphere when we arrived. While the food was ok, I can't in good conscience rate this restaurant anything higher than mid range due to their unbelievably exorbitant prices. Fish sandwich $49. Fried rice $35+. We each ordered the least expensive things we could find, salads and sandwiches. We didn't even order drinks as a basic mojito was $19.

Yelp
I've been here a few times, the food is amazing, taste very good. They give huge portions as well, you definitely are going to leave full, the servers are very attentive, the ambiance is spectacular, the outside area is very nice, the inside dinning is to as well. I usually always get Voca Frita here, or sometimes chicken breast the skirt steak is good too. I love Cuban food

Yelp
What an absolute delight this was! After a recommendation from a park ranger in Biscayne, we ordered from Grubhub after a long day at the park. I thought the paella at first was a little pricey on the menu at $69, but it had been recommended so I ordered it. I had NO idea it is a giant tray of food and we were pleasantly delighted!! We had it for breakfast and lunch the next day and it was still just as delicious. I also ordered a lobster soup and it was so full of flavor. 100% recommend for my fellow national park jumpers!

Yelp
Lawdddd. Somewhere off in Homestead stands the Havana Spice/Sugar duo which makes dinner and dessert so much easier to do. Small inside with maybe 8-10 tables but also has an outside seating area. Food is seemingly pricier than most places you can go to for almost the same thing but it was so delicious. Could have just been that I stuffed my face with bread and appetizer before eating but the food was enough for two lunches and a half. Next door is a dessert shop that's pleasant to the eye and the ice cream is handmade and creamy. Worth the try.

Yelp
Havana Spice has the most extensive menu I have ever seen!! When I say there is an option for everyone, there truly is! My go-to-meal is their Pechuga-a-la-Plancha. It is enormous and cooked to perfection with grilled onions and 2 sides. I always get rice & beans as side 1 and side 2 is a toss up between Tostones, Sweet Plantains and boiled yucca. There is a plethora of indoor and outdoor seating and the restaurant is very tastefully designed with eclectic artwork and vintage cars. The staff attends to you promptly and food is served timely yet there is no pressure to turn tables over. They also have an icecream shop next door with Gelato textured icecream with just as extensive of a selection!!! Which is a perfect stop after a great meal!!

Diego R.

Yelp
The most buncakes ice cream I've ever tried, it was gushy, sugary, overpriced, old and just a bad experience my sister is going to leave a review on her thoughts about Sister: this is the mega ultimate burgerest ice cream place in the world I feel my stomach twisting and I'm definitely exploding the toilet today. 0/10

Yelp
Unexpectedly fun and colorful atmosphere. Seating was a bit confusing. We were very confused by the menu and pricing. The majority of dishes are $25-60. A banana split is $19? Seafood dishes are $40-100. The dishes we ordered (ropa vieja and a havanna sandwich) were very good so I'm curious if there's something absolutely amazing about the rest of the dishes that are priced so much higher. I checked in on Yelp and was offered a $5 off $25 coupon but my server waved it off indicating they don't honor that which is disappointing. Management should get that removed so they don't appear unprofessional.

Yelp
Visitors to the area, we've had dinner here 2 nights in a row. What can I say... Excellent food, great service! We've had the Cuban style ox tails; which were absolutely delicious, fall off the bone in the gravy/sauce that it comes in. The Spicy Cuban style Ropa Vieja was to die for. The shredded beef was tender & flavorful and the sauce was fantastic, perfect for dipping the Cuban bread into. Last night we enjoyed whole deep fried Red Snapper (enough for 2 people) The only suggestion I would add is to offer one of their tomato based Cuban sauce as an accompaniment. We're sure to return when in the area again.

Yelp
We were so lucky to stumble upon this spot on our Everglades weekend getaway. I adore Cuban food and this place hit the spot. Miami is the place to go for Cuban food and this is the best by far that I've had. Now it's far since it's all the way in homestead and what are the odds that you'd be out there, but this place is totally worth your time. Everything was phenomenal. The table service, food, and ambiance, were such a vibe. It was a relaxed environment. We sat on the patio since it was a little cool out. Our server made sure to check on us multiple times and was speedy with our requests. We never had to ask for a thing (minus our order and check when we finished). The Vaca Frita is by far the best I've ever had. Although it's a bit greasy, it was packed with flavor. Not the cheapest Cuban spot but for sure high quality. I will rave about this to my friends if they ever plan a trip to the Everglades because I can't get enough of how great of a find this place is. The sangria was a good deal! A half pitcher for $29 (basically four glasses) and perfect for two people! Parking was easy and the place is very noticeable from the road. Look out for a bunch of colorful figurines on the lawn and front area (you'll know you've made it). Make sure to try Havana sugar next door after (we ate to much to give it a go this time, but next time we're in the area, we will have to give it a try.) It was busy, so I'm sure it's a hot spot. See you next time Havana Spice. (Vaca Frita will never be the same for me anymore now that I've had yours!)

Yelp
Really odd roadside restaurant in homestead. I'd give it more stars if it wasn't so incredibly overpriced. The food wasn't bad but you can get better in a dozen other Cuban places in the Miami area. I had the masas de puerco and my wife the ropa vieja. Neither was bad but they were both way overpriced. And $19 for a mint lemonade should be illegal. If the prices were lower I'd probably like the place but it's just a bad deal and we won't be back. Service was decent. Give it four stars for service. Three for the foodie and one for the prices

Yelp
We stopped by Havana Spice as soon as we landed in Miami. It was a two in one with their restaurant on one side and their Havana Ice Cream store on the other. At first, it seemed deserted, but behind all the cultural decorations and props was a quaint dine-in. We ordered the Bacalao: they were tasty but salty; fried pork chunks and tamales; the tamale was good, but the meat inside was sparse: the pork was tender; the empanadas were okay: the flavor was a bit sour to me for some reason. The fried snapper looked great, but unfortunately, it had no flavor -- it was very bland. Our server was very kind and efficient. He checked in on us often and was very accommodating. Overall, based on the service, I would visit again and try their other dishes.
google avatar

Taimy P.

Yelp
I was reading some reviews that were negative I know its hard to please everyone however I have been going to this restaurant since they opened and I go weekly its an incredible place and even though the prices are high when you see they're portion two people can eat so its the same other places. The food is incredible the staff amazing and everything its so fresh. Its our go to place every week. Drinks are a bit pricy yes but food not at all when you consider what you get and the amount per serving. Do not be deterred by bad reviews go and try it its amazing !!! they're beans are not the best but everything else is great!!!
google avatar

Madhurima D.

Yelp
Tried their empanadas, chicken soup, flan and guanabana shake. Chicken soup was spicy which was perfect for my cold. Their empanadas were delicious! They tasted like how good empanadas must taste like, fresh, well made and melting in your mouth. Flan was decent.
google avatar

Yelp
All good. After heavy raining day in National Park having a native Havana food and drinks was so fun. We really like it. Highly recommend!
google avatar

Bryan D.

Yelp
Best Cuban spot in Homestead. Service is great! Servings are generous, you'll for sure leave with leftovers
google avatar

Jessica V.

Yelp
Food was great and they had a huge menu.! the only downside I must say, is that some of the prices were very high, unusually high. That's a lot for me to say as I live in NYC. I ordered the fried snapper for a little over $40 but it could definitely have fed two people. Definitely worth it. The higher prices on the drinks were unusual and some of the lobster dishes were, but maybe the preparation is more complicated which is why they were higher. Loved the fried yucca as well!
google avatar

Anaeli R.

Yelp
Let me start by saying that their vaca frita is my favorite in Miami. This place is close to work and we tend to do work lunches there. With that said, our last experience felt like we were being watched for a secret TV show as we sat looking at the menu. Half their menu is now hand written and prices are updated with white out. Yellow rice and chicken "big portion" is now $75, a batido de mango is $19, and most sandwiches are $39. We asked the waiter about the portion size of the sandwich and he said "it's kind of big. Maybe two people can share it." Needless to say, this restaurant has outpriced itself in a working class area for regular Cuban food. We stood up and left and unless they re-evaluate their prices, we will not be back.

Dolores A.

Yelp
I tried the chicken soup it was salty and not much chicken. Good price though. I'll not go back it was in the mall.
google avatar

Ruite G.

Yelp
The lobster in the Paella is spoiled. The server said it is only for decoration and she said it is okay for it to be spoiled. That's ridiculous!

Shannon N.

Yelp
This place has lost touch with reality. This place was once great until they raised the prices to these OUTRAGEOUS prices. They don't even make sense. I'm sure the prices are so high to compensate for opening their ice cream shop next door. There's no reason for me to have spent $200 for what I purchased! This place was also empty when I went! Go figure
google avatar

Bob R.

Yelp
I visited Havana Spice last night with my Mom and Sister. I suggested this place because of the great reviews on here. Now, we are Cubans and know Cuban food. This place was such a disappointment! First of all, we were all SHOCKED at the prices on the menu. Plates for $55 and $60 were common. As I write this review, I am sitting at another Cuban restaurant. The fried Snapper here is $21.99. At Havana Spice it was $55.00. We all ordered the least expensive plates. The pork chunks and flank steak at $18 and $24. Not terrible, but 40% higher than your average Cuban restaurants. But let's move on. If - the food had been off such generous portion and such great quality and flavors, then it might be worth the exorbitant prices. But! Regretfully it wasn't. The pork chucks were mediocre at best. My sister did say her steak was very good. We ordered plantain chips as an appetizer. The chips were way overcooked. We joked among ourselves saying that we were so hungry that even burnt chips tasted good. Lastly, the atmosphere, ambience and service. We were seated in a dining room of eight tables. While sitting there I notice and commented to my Mom and Sister that I could clearly hear every conversation going on at every table. Something about the acoustics and placement of the tables that caused this phenomenon. So, if you come here, do not expect any privacy. Any conversation in this dining room can be heard by anyone in the room. As for the service, it was adequate. Because of the outrageous, abusive prices this place deserves a 1-star review. But, I'll bump that up to 2 stars because they did serve free garlic bread at the table. This is one of the many signs of a good Cuban Restaurant. But, this is the only sign of a good Cuban restaurant that this place hit. HEY! Try their Key Lime pie for dessert - only $13.00 per slice! Needless to say: "We will not be back".
google avatar

Yelp
Another great meal at Havana Spice! Today we had To drink: -Jugo de guarapo: delicious! not too sweet To eat: 1. Pechuga rellena- chicken stuffed with cheese and ham. tender, juicy chicken. very good. 2. ropa vieja- delicious tender meat in a well-spiced tomato sauce

Yunior ..

Yelp
‍ Way too pricey! I can't fathom why the prices are so high . They definitely don't match the quality of the place, the food, the service, or the neighborhood. I'm not going back.
google avatar

Yelp
Great place! Fresh and authentic cuisine! Don't sleep on this place pricey but worth it!

Yelp
Super cute and yummy! Lots of photo opportunities You can't go wrong with the sampler to get started! The staff were so friendly!

Yelp
Came here for dinner with the family. We started with queso frito and croquettas. The vaca frita was good but the dipping sauce was meh. It was a mayo based cilantro lime sauce. Was ok. Croquettas we're ok too. The Mayo/ketchup sauce was meh. They were better w the cilantro cause. But aftertaste was weird. I had the vaca frita which was super flavorful initially but then super salty. Sweet potato fries were good and so was broccoli. My daughter had the palomilla steak and she said it was bland My bf had the vaca frita. He said it was way too salty. I tried it and it was flavorful but way too salty. We decided to be gluttons and end with flan and Oreo cheesecake which needed to be colder. The flan was yummy. I didn't try the cheesecake but everyone said it was yum but too warm I had a mojito and that was super yum The place is super cute Service was great.

Yelp
This place was recommended to us after we went snorkeling about 15 min away. We recommend this place whole heartedly. They have great Cuban food and the vaca frita was amazing. The meat was juicy and well marinated. The side of plantains were great as well. The Cubano was well made and the place itself is very eclectic. We never went inside but the patio is nice. We had different servers every time someone came out but they were all nice.
google avatar

Regan P.

Yelp
Crazy eclectic atmosphere, but a friendly staff and exceptional food! This was a great find. The House Churrasco skirt steak was cooked to perfection, the plantains sweet and delicious, and the rice and beans spiced perfectly. The staff was helpful and the food showed hot. Definitely recommend, and will return!
google avatar

Yelp
Super fun Latin restaurant. Stopped for a bite while passing through Homestead. My wife totally out ordered me with a pork dish. Skip the shrimp go for the meat. Super helpful in the parking lot as we were dragging the trailer with us and they directed us to a safe place to parkattentive servers and a funky atmosphere. Will repeat.
google avatar

Lisa M.

Yelp
The Paella was fabulous! We have a Cuban and Paella between 4 people. The paella could feed 5 on its own. It was worth stopping for.

Sherri M.

Yelp
I am not one who likes to complain and I believe in giving everybody a second chance but the first time I ate at Havana spice they burnt my soup, but I'm talking about burnt. This was a pick up order and I'm assuming they didn't think I would notice or I wouldn't come back And it was a hard mission to get a refund. The second time I ate inside the restaurant I ordered some type of pork meat with some congri and what they brought me was a pile of mush. It was so bad I had to ask the waitress to switch my rice out. Someone might go and have a great experience with no problem at all, but this was my experience. You never know until you experience it yourself. I hope this was helpful.

Dave T.

Yelp
This place offers a wide variety of options and has a friendly staff that seems to like one another. Kid friendly and accommodating to solo diners as well. A family restaurant that offers flavorful and well prepared food. A little pricey but good food made from good ingredients with care often is.
google avatar

Blair M.

Yelp
Outstanding value and flavor! We had a long drive ahead but wanted to get some Cuban sammiches before we left Miami. The Park Rangers at Biscayne N.P. Recommended this spot and they were SPOT ON! The medionoche is the same as the Cubano Especial except they use potato bread instead of the traditional Cuban bread. I recommend it. The empanada comes with a nice aioli which I'd order extra to accompany the sammich. Total for lunch of two sammiches (w/ fries) and an empanada was $24!
google avatar

Jill S.

Yelp
Food was good ,ambience is fun. The service was extremely slow and very discombobulated. Took part of our tables order before they took the other. Busy Friday night but ....seriously. I was a bit embarrassed that I suggested the place we had a party of 8.
google avatar

Yami D.

Yelp
Been coming to this place for over 6 years and it will always be one of my most special places to eat! The food is AMAZING. The service exceptional and the ambiance super chill.

Yelp
I would like to emphasize on the positive things about our experience: Great decoration very unique and staff was well dressed and courteous. Now: Once we got seated. We decided to sit outside and realized that it was not the best idea. First, the tables were so close together that we felt like we were a dining hall of a hotel by hearing everyone, definitely please put music on we could hear everyone and everyone could hear us and our conversation. It was awkward to say the least. We looked at our menus and we wondered if we were next to the US1 in Homestead or if we magically were seating at a rooftop in Brickell because the prices were outrageous. Lemonade 7$ but hey if you decide to have a "coco LIMONADA" the price goes up to $19. Please help me understand this. All cocktails were $19 same as a non-alcoholic smoothie. There is no incentive for a more affordable choice such as a happy hour or really no recommendations. The Menu is all over the place and it is overwhelming. Portions were okay and everything we asked for in the menu was available, so that's a plus. I loved that they were so many plants and that they provided citronella candles. I will hesitate to come back tho, I would only go back for the staff. They were very educated and polite.

Yelp
recently visited their new ice cream/ dessert shop (next to the restaurant) & was pleasantly surprised how good their ice cream was! ordered the nutella ice cream & the tres leche cake. super yummy & reasonable for the price. so happy there's finally a good ice cream spot in homestead! the girls who work here are also super sweet & the spot is super cute & nicely decorated. :)

Yelp
TERRIBLE. Super low end. I would not recommend this place to anyone. The space was cramped and crowded, with large cockroaches on the walls and flies buzzing around the air. Also long hair on the napkins with greasy forks and plates. The seafood paella was a disaster. The lobster in it was blackened and smelled awful. I couldn't even bring myself to eat it. We buy fresh lobster at seafood market a lot, this one is definitely stale. The service was horrible. The waitstaff were rude and disrespectful, with a condescending attitude. All they could say was "I don't know", "none of my business "'

Kathleen M.

Yelp
Very neat atmosphere. Uniquely decorated. The food was ok. I got chicken fajitas. It was a huge portion. Thought they were supposed to be eaten on tortillas but maybe not. The side yucca was very good. Server very nice
google avatar

Barbara S.

Yelp
service was not good. I found pieces of rubber band in my juice. I asked for manager and was told there was none on site. Then was treated like if I was lying. Lady said "we don't use that here" Well I hope you don't intentionally put rubber band in customers juices. They all just looked at me like what do you want us to do. Definitely not returning. Food was good. Service could have been better especially after my experienc. All the servers just stood there. Not one tried apologizing.

Yelp
This place was fantastic !!! It was a nice break after our wedding photoshoot. Everyone enjoyed their delicious lunch, the server was super nice and very human after a miscommunication which was super admirable. The ambiance was gorgeous because it was the perfect day outside and the decoration is amazing ! Hehe priced reasonably too!

Yelp
When traveling to or through Homestead, there are not many options to eat unless you enjoy strip mall restaurant chains. So glad my wife and I took a chance on Havana Spice. I am hopelessly addicted to Cuban food now. Couple of things first. Good luck maneuvering inside the parking lot lol. Also not a lot of waitstaff speaks English so be ready for that. We didn't mind, honestly made the experience feel more authentic. The drinks are strong and the margarita is huge. Don't say we didn't warn ya! The food did also take a little time to come out, whatever was totally worth it. We ordered the grilled chorizo sausage appetizer which was nice, more like a snack. Also tried the fried cheese too. Mmmmmm. I been dying to have a real authentic Cuban meal while traveling through Florida so I took a chance on their Ropa Viejo with the Moro and Yucca. Between the music, the decor, and that first bite. I felt like I was transported straight to Havana. So much flavor so good. The Yucca was a little bland but still ate it. But a bite of the Moro with the Ropa Vieja was fantastic. My wife's dish stole the show. No photo sadly but just order it. She got the Pechuga Rellena. Which is basically chicken breast stuffed with poblano peppers and cheese rolled up and grilled super crunchy. I was instantly jealous when I saw her plate. Super underrated. You have to get it. Check the review below mine for the photo lol. Please visit this lovely gem, you won't regret it.

Yelp
Homestead is a small town near Everglades with limites restaurants but Havana Spice is a place that delivers on flavors and is the best place we ate at during our trip to the everglades. Please call the restaurant ahead of time cos their hours can be skewed. They are open daily 12-9 pm but can change so I highly recommend calling ahead of time. Their website is not updated nor is the board right outside the restaurant. We ordered the homestyle shrimp fried rice and the cubano sandwich. I loved the homestyle shrimp fried rice. Great flavors. The cubano sandwich was also good and better than the ones we have eaten at other places during out stay. The portions are huge so be ready to stop by hungry or share with folks. They also serve some complimentary garlic bread and that is delicious. We did not order any desserts since we were in a rush to get to Shark Valley Visitor Center. This place is huge with ample indoor and outdoor dining space. Service was good but really slow. If you are in a rish this is not the place for you. Maybe the service is slow cos they make thier food fresh but it is a little too slow. All in all we did like our meal here.

Yelp
Ambience of the restaurant was great. We sat inside, which is good, but outside would be our choice if we went back. Prices were good for the quality of food you were getting. Portions were great, service was good. The main attraction was definitely the food itself. Absolutely delicious! Best Vaca Fritas I've ever had, loved and savored every bite of my meal. Other members of the group got sandwiches and they were all wonderful. My son (5 year old) even loved the "fancy plate" it came on =) I'll be reminiscing about that meal for a while, we will 100% make our way here again when we are in the area!
