The 19 Best Restaurants In Maui - Maui - The Infatuation

"Havens is like a house dress that doubles as a date night outfit. The huge space by the harbor has cozy areas, particularly the patio in the evening, for an intimate dinner, but there’s also plenty of room for a big gathering. It’s also easy to find something to please the table, like charbroiled steaks, and clams steamed with sake and Portuguese sausage (get it with the cast iron focaccia to sop up all the broth). The best deal on the menu, though—and what we see regulars ordering—is the Bucket List meal that’s big enough for two with fried chicken, plus the silkiest mashed potatoes, giardeniera, and Hawaiian chili pepper jam. At lunchtime, come for the excellent smashburgers that Havens originally built its name on. You can also find these crispy-edged patties on plush buns at the Havens food truck in Kahului that’s located in a parking lot across from Costco." - martha cheng

This was my second visit to Haven’s, and once again, I had a great experience. On my first visit, I had the Smashburger — easily one of the best I’ve had. On our return, we went for the Tomahawk steak and scallops. Both were absolutely delicious. The atmosphere is a standout, with a beautiful view of the harbor at sunset that really elevates the experience. Service was excellent — the staff is friendly and attentive, checking in often. The only small suggestion there is to give guests a bit more space between check-ins, as too many can interrupt the flow of conversation between guests. The drink selection was solid. Cocktails and wines were well chosen, and I really liked the beer selection — a nice change from the usual big-brand lineup. I’d still love to see more non-alcoholic options added down the line. If I had one other note, it’s that prices feel a bit high for a newer restaurant, especially compared to some well-established spots on Maui. That said, the quality is clear, and Haven’s has real potential. Wishing the team all the best — I’m looking forward to seeing how they grow.

One of our BEST meals of the entire trip! If you have the opportunity to dine here, do yourself a favor and make it happen! Riley was our server, and he was great! We shared the Caesar salad, wagyu croquettes and rice cake to start which was all 10 out of 10! For the main dishes my husband got the Bucket, I got the smash burger and we split the truffle rissoto. Probably best rissoto I've ever tasted! I do want to mention during our time in Maui we also stayed on the Wailea side at the Grand Wailea Waldorf Astoria and dined at some of the top restaurants over there and at the Four Seasons. Havens beats any of those fancy hotel restaurants by a long shot! Quality food, quality people, quality place!

Haven’s Harborside was a great choice, as Google suggested! It’s located in front of the marina, which gives it a very different vibe from the other restaurants we visited in Maui. Our server, Mick, was simply spectacular, recommending wine, dishes, and desserts. Honestly, we didn’t have to see the menu and could’ve gone with his suggestions. Every dish was delicious and beautifully plated. Notable mentions are the crispy Kanpachi Roll (Mick’s reco), the bone-in New York Steak, the Diver Scallops, and the Malasadas. If you haven’t tried them, don’t miss the chance. They’re some kind of a donut with guava jelly injected as they come from the drier. Simply delicious. We had an absolute blast.

Went for Happy hour and really enjoyed everything we ordered. The manager and wait staff were nice and attentive. Loved both cocktails on the happy hour menu especially the margarita. Perfect for those that like a little spice in their life. Will definitely come back to try their dinner menu bc it looks delicious!

Chef Zach, former executive chef at Hawai’i’s only Chateaux and Relais property made the move to open his own food business, starting with a food truck (by Costo/Havens). Then, he started a successful brick and mortar in Kihei (which he -sadly- closed) and again, the food was exceptional! And now, his flagship restaurant Haven’s Harborside Fish and Chop House. Ive gone for lunches and dinners and, honestly, I can’t get enough of the amazing food coming out of the kitchen. The view from the deck is gorgeous and the cocktail bar/seating is classy. The food isn’t “cheap”, but I wouldn’t expect such high quality ingredients to cost nothing. Chef Zach and his cadre of top chefs in the kitchen create the best! As the locals say,”Go try!” You won’t be disappointed.

We chose to have an early Mother’s Day dinner here before returning home to Molokaʻi and we are more than happy we did. Austin was our server and Lance was the Manager that evening and all the staff were so kind, professional, and answered all our questions lol. Us locals get plenty questions. The food was mean! We had the short ribs that you could cut with a fork! Lobster mac and cheese, scallops, super soft steak, and the oyster shooters was the best I ever had, hands down!! I not even kidding. I recommend Haven’s and cannot wait til I go back to Maui to eat there again. Go, you won’t regret it!!

What an amazing experience! Havens Harborside Fish & ChopHouse truly exceeded our expectations. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, with beautiful harbor views that added to the relaxing coastal vibe. But the real star of the evening was the lobster taco — hands down one of the best seafood dishes I've ever had. Fresh, flavorful, and perfectly balanced, it was a must-try for any seafood lover. A special shoutout to Maria, our server, who made our dinner even more enjoyable. She was incredibly friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu. Her thoughtful service made us feel genuinely welcomed and well taken care of. Highly recommended — we’ll definitely be coming back!

Lovely place, good food, and great service. I got the Dayboat fish and chips, my daughter "the best grilled cheese ever!" (her words), and my husband got the Tackle Box. The food was as yummy as it looks. I really appreciated the kind and welcoming staff. We will come back.

Yelp
This was such a lovely little gem by the harbor! One of our local friends suggested Haven's as our meeting spot for a delicious and relaxing meal after arriving on Maui. The restaurant had a table set up for us outside for our reservation, which gave us a great view of the water. We ordered the cast iron focaccia as a starter while we looked over the menu. (It was so good that we got a second one for the table with dinner!) After we got our beverages, our waiter, Nate, made some excellent suggestions for our entrees. I decided to go with the diver scallops with xo and miso brown butter hollandaise sauces. It was stunning, especially since the hollandaise was partially foamed to make it light and airy. The scallops were cooked absolutely perfectly and melted in your mouth. We also shared the lobster mac and cheese and grilled broccolini with aged balsamic. Despite the generous serving sizes, it was effortless to eat everything! The food was delicious with truly quality ingredients, and we savored every bite. The service by Nate and the crew was impeccable. Our friend dining with us has been in food service for 30 years, and he noted how professional and thoughtful the servers were throughout the meal. We had a really fantastic experience at Haven's Harborside, and I would definitely come back here on my next visit!

Yelp
I guess I'll make this review. I hesitated to review it after the first 3 attempts of food. I have tried this restaurant 4 times. First was happy hour. Food was 'good' with good flavors and dishes. The service was awkward. I did try a mocktail but it was not flavorful for the price. Next I had a big dinner with a group. Pre planned. The service was TERRIBLE and rude. Our half of the table of 7 felt like it was intentional. The most bizarre waiter and treatment. Hard to explain but he continuously scolded us about asking for a drink. Asking for a refill (20 min after empty) for water. Forgot something we ordered. All our fault. It was bizarre. Our friends who used to be in service industry could not believe it either. In this meal the steaks were not edible for 2 of us. (One was entirely fatty) the other was cooked at wrong temp and not seasoned at all. The gnocchi for our friend again not edible. She said it takested like paste. I ordered an old fashioned--was on bar ice that was melted within the drink and watered down. At these prices I felt we will have another changeover of this restaurant soon. After this dinner I could not go back or recommend anyone else try is (I live local and unfortunately could not recommend). Had it not been a work event I very much would have spoken to owner on how their employees acted. Just recently we were entertaining family at Maui ocean center and wanted lunch. I decided to just try lunch. I had always loved the smash burgers at the Kihei location. We all got burgers. Kids got what looked like frozen chicken fingers and a grilled cheese made on hamburger buns. Added fries for 9$. Burgers were fine. Nothing extra from the food truck. Fries fine. Not super hot but fine. Overpriced for sure. The chicken fingers were hard (tasted like Costco chicken fingers). Margaritas were too sweet and not much kick. (Need to hire a mixologist and work on drinks at your price point). Overall overpriced food truck quality. That said the waitress was DELIGHTFUL and attentive. She gets 5/5. And made up for the previous service snafu. I can't see how this will last. The food just isn't that great (there someone said it) for this price point. And steaks are NOT best on island for this price point.

Yelp
Tucked just off the dock of Maalaea Harbor with waves gently lapping at its edge, this Maui waterfront gem delivers more than just a breathtaking view -- it serves an unforgettable "aloha" dining experience. The service? It started with a friendly greeting and warm smile by our server Reilly, throughout the night his timing was impeccable, with the kind of genuine hospitality that makes you feel like family. The food? NEXT LEVEL!! For starters, we ordered the crispy kanpachi roll, SO GOOD, crisp, fresh and perfectly flavored. For dinner my husband went with the bone in NY steak, it was perfectly cooked with a deep char, juicy center and bursting with flavor! On Reilly's suggestion, I ordered the steamed kanpachi, this is not an overstatement.., this fish was - THE BEST FISH OF MY LIFE!! It was a masterclass in freshness and flavor --, delicately seasoned with ginger, scallions and chili pepper. I ate EVERY bite and would have drank the broth it was served in if I could have! We paired our dinners with the fresh broccolini, a bright and welcome contrast that completed the meal in perfection. In short, this restaurant isn't just a place to eat -- it's a place to experience. With a setting as gorgeous as its menu and service that makes you feel like royalty, it's no wonder this is a Maui must. Ask for Reilly -- trust me, you'll be glad you did.

Yelp
Finally made it to Haven's Harborside! Came with the parents for Mother's Day dinner. They were busy but everything was still as delicious as I'd expect from Zach and team! Started with the crispy kanpachi roll. It came out quickly and was perfectly crispy and filled with such amazing flavor burst. Dad & I both had the grilled big eye ahi for main and we all shared the green beans and crispy potatoes. Mom had the diver scallops. We finished with an order of malasadas. Everything was fabulous! We all left very satisfied and full. We sat outside which was perfect. It was a beautiful night with great full moon views. Mick was our server and he was great! He was attentive, but not overly so, made great recommendations and was just on it. Great spot all around! Can't wait to go back and check out happy hour!

Yelp
We came for Mother's Day brunch. It was delicious. We ordered French Toast for the table to share and it was the best French toast! I'm pretty sure it was a cornbread French toast. I hope they always have this on every breakfast menu. Three of the four of us ordered the Breakfast Smash. It was huge and amazing! Sorry we didn't take any food pictures because we just dug in! The service was excellent and only topped by the view of the harbor and the Pacific Ocean!

Yelp
Enjoyed a light dinner with friends on a Weds night. Easy parking right in front of the restaurant instead of the complicated upstairs lot. Ambiance was elegant and bright with uniformed staff greeting my arrival even though I came after our 6 top was already seated. Lots of warm wood finishes and attractive seating. It was already dark, but during daytime there are stellar harbor views of the harbor and breaching Humpback whales on the bay towards the uninhabited Kahoolawe. The bar looked like a custom wood Japanese temple with backlit bottles lined with vertical green subway tile backsplash. LED TVs were visible but unobtrusive and volume subdued to NBA playoffs. Glassed in kitchen showcased uniformed chefs hustling on the line. I'm glad they obscured the bottom half of end window so guests were limited to see "everything." Tried a good variety of drinks, dishes and entrees that were elegantly presented by servers and runners at the same time. Elote corn, mushrooms, green beans, potatoes, arrived in small colorful bowls were seasoned and garnished. Iron skillet Bread was nice with a crisp herb crust with a ramekin of herb butter. Chimichurri Steak was sliced thin off the bone on a platter and MR Colorado Lamb chops were carved from the whole rack. Scallops were seared tender and Fresh Catch had ample sauces. All foods were moist, seasoned and very good. The only hiccup was green beans served to our friend allergic to shellfish. They didn't know that the beans were garnished with "opae", Hawaiian for tiny dried bay shrimp. Manager Lance and Server Connor were very apologetic, and professional and often checked on her condition which was minor. Once we were done with dinner Lance offered to bring dessert and we sampled almost everything. Guava stuffed Malasadas with Anglaise was popular. Mango Cheesecake with a crust seasoned with cardamon, and Chocolate Ice Cream bar were delicious. Ube chocolate slice was great, but sweet. Overall, it's a nice additional option for an elegant restaurant in the central Ma'alaea location that's sometimes overlooked at night.

Yelp
Great location next to the charter boats and whale watching boats. We had a very nice lunch on the veranda and watched the half day charters come back with flags of their catch on their upright outrigger poles; mainly Mahi, an Ono (Wahoo), and Ahi (Yellowfin tuna). We had a fresh Mahi sandwich and a Paniolo Smash Burger with an order of fries to share. Iced Tea and Pineapple juice for drinks. Our server, Tim, was really helpful with the menu and told us what the new restaurant is known for. We really liked our sandwiches and the view of boats, and people. The Vog (Big Island volcano "fog") in April 2025 obscured any views of Kihei and Haleakala; you wouldn't know the landmarks are there! Haven's Harborside is a really nice, modern restaurant. Quite a change from the old dive bar that was in the location before, formerly complete with 'bar flies!'

Yelp
The atmosphere was great near the harbor. Our drinks were refreshing and tasty. Mai Tai all the way. Fresh mushroom pasta I am still thinking about and the snapper was cooked to perfection. Great date night spot! The service was welcoming and inviting.

Yelp
It's official, I just had my first happy hour experience at "HAVENS HARBORSIDE FISH & CHOPHOUSE." So if anyone ate at this location before this restaurant moved in & did their renovation. You'll definitely be impressed with their gorgeous, plus clean, ocean side color choices & decor. We arrived a few minutes into their happy hour & were seated immediately after requesting a table for four. Plus service was fast in the beginning, waters arrived right after menus were dropped. I started with the "PAIA BAY (rumhaven coconut rum, coconut cream, pineapple passion, orange & guava.)" It was a delicious sweet drink & even the cup was cute. My second drink I tried was the "PUAMANA POOLS (beefeater gin, ginger liqueur, pineapple, lime orgeat & absinthe.)" Now that drink was also delicious & I liked that it came with a ginger candy garnish. As for the Happy Hour Bites I ended up trying the: Chilled black tiger shrimp with ocean vodka cocktail sauce. (The shrimp had a clean presentation & the shrimp were massive.) Spicy ahi poke nachos* with wonton, avo, sea bean, cucumber, ginger relish. (I was actually surprised by how big this plate was considering this was off the happy hour menu. I wasn't able to eat it all & ended up taking home half.i) NY steak pupu* with cabbage, ginger, scallion & finadene. (This was another dish I was impressed with the amount of food. Definitely filling & absolutely delicious.) Verde fish taco with cabbage, smoked pepper, crema & pico de gallo. (Fish tacos are always a go to for me & omg this one is all about that verde flavor.) Truffle fries with parmesan & parsley. (Always a fun snack & no fries were spared.) Dining notes: During slower times it's easier to get VIP service. However when guests start to fill up the remaining empty seats. It left a longer gap between being checked on. So by the time we finished our first round of food & drinks. We didn't get to order our second round until the table was already cleared. Also I noticed the happy hour menu didn't have their name & logo on it. It's just free advertising when a guest takes a picture to share with their friends & family. Plus I like to have it for my food photos, otherwise I might forget where it came from further down the road. I'll definitely need to plan a future lunch & dinner visit. To compare the menus, plus the change in atmosphere for when the sun goes down. Until next time. XOXO, ChelsieFletcher

Yelp
Great experience here for lunch!! Just finished a boat tour and stopped over right away after. Service was excellent, the server was very knowledgeable of each and every dish and very kind and genuine. I had the blackened Ahi medium rare and my fiancée had the smash burger. Both were excellent but the Ahi was really out of the park. The owner even came by at one point to show us the fish my lunch had came off of, that was caught that morning!!! Very great experience! I will say it was a little more on the expensive side, but if you can swing it, it is definitely worth it.

Yelp
We had our wedding dinner here and it was amazing!!! They even printed out beautiful special made menus for everyone. The food was so good that we inhaled it and no one took a single picture of anything. Chef Zach worked with us to curate a fantastic menu with both on and off menu items. Our servers Lance, Scott, and Mick were on top of it, no wine glasses were left empty. It was effortless and smooth. There were about 20 of us seated at a long table on the patio and we got to watch the sunset as we ate. The food came out at the perfect pace and every bite was exquisite. We are so grateful to Havens for giving us the most special wedding dinner!

Yelp
Lovely spot next to the harbor! Happy hour fare is where it's at! Baja Lobster Taco - simple beer battered tender lobster with a nice salsa verde butter (so creative!) and pico. A little pricey, but excellent quality and flavor. 5 stars. Fish & Chip - the marlin was done right and a good portion. Same tasty beer batter and plentiful fries. 5 stars. Deluxe smash burger - juicy patty with fresh tomato and lettuce on a semi smashed bun. No complaints for $12, but Velzyland smash burger remains king. 5 stars. Our friends had drinks, steak pupu, crab rangoons and poke nachos and all were very satisfied. After reading some other reviews we were concerned about the service during HH, but everyone was attentive and friendly! They checked back 2 times to make sure we didn't want to order any more HH items. Good stuff!

Yelp
Amazing food, excellent service, with a view of the harbor. Our starter was amazing, crispy kalpachi roll, it's a must!!!! My filet was cooked to perfection. Our sides were the lobster mac n cheese and Brussels sprouts, both were delicious. Will definitely come back.

Yelp
Heard so many great things about this new restaurant. They did not disappoint. Food was delicious. Higher price point for dinner. Waiter said to come for lunch. Prices are lower and food is just as yummy! Ambiance was perfect service was great.

Yelp
An unforgettable dining experience! We started our meal with two outstanding main courses that we shared: the mushroom risotto and the diver scallops, and honestly, it set the tone for the whole evening. The risotto was a showstopper: deep, earthy, and rich with umami from the truffle emulsion, yet somehow light and airy at the same time. Each bite was a delight, so delicious, that I did not want it to end. The scallops were equally impressive, perfectly seared, there was something on top of the scallops which had an umami flavor, earthy, slightly sweet and very different from what I am used to, super interesting, elegant and well balanced, it was served with a miso brown butter hollandaise that was both flavorful and feather-light. That sauce alone is worth coming back for. As our main, we shared the cowboy ribeye, which was beautifully cooked and clearly high-quality meat. We ordered a side of crispy potatoes dressed in chermoula, this had an herby, zesty touch that really transported us. We ordered Brussels sprouts too, they came with guanciale, they were crispy, salty, had a little touch of sweetness ( vinegar reduction maybe?!?) and they were totally addictive! We also tried three sauces with the steak: a classic béarnaise, a house "Kiana" sauce (think a refined take on Diane sauce), and a punchy chimichurri. Each was fantastic in its own way and added a fun, flavorful dimension to the meal. Special shoutout to Scott, our server--he was the man! Super friendly, professional, and clearly knows the menu inside and out. He anticipated all our needs, the service was perfect. He made us feel welcome from start to finish. And the setting? Let's talk about it, it is absolutely perfect. Dining next to the harbor with the ocean breeze rolling, it doesn't get much better than that. Do yourself a favor and head there tonight. You won't be disappointed. I can't wait to go back!

Yelp
Last minute stop for some fish burgers here on a quiet Sunday. Nice thing is we choose our seat. Very comfortable, cool, not too noisy, and service was quick. The view of the harbor, Haleakalā, south Kīhei, and other islands are an enjoyable & relaxing scene. I ordered the Mahi-mahi sandwich with truffle fries. The mahi-mahi was slightly over cooked but I think done so for the crispiness. Omg, the fries were so delish I took my leftovers with me for a walk around the boats.

Yelp
We stopped thinking this was Beach Bum Bar from the last time we were on the island 5 years ago. We were surprised to see a very upscale restaurant but we decided to try it. Bring your wallet, this is a $$$$$ place! The valet was nice as there is no place to park. Unlike Beach Bums were you basically double parked half in the lane of traffic. Valet was Free but you know it still costs you a tip. No waiting inside and we were seated outside. I should have taken a photo of the menu because many would not believe a steak was nearly $100. Everything is à la carte so you pay $14 for a side of potatoes. The waiter was great. He attended our ever need. I decided on the chicken at $55 for a pound of overpriced chicken strips. Don't forget me wrong they tasted outstanding but the price vs value was about $25 off!! My wife ordered the scallops plus the fried potatoes cost nearly $70. Again cost vs value way off!! The food taste and quantity, service as well as atmosphere get a 5 but they really need to work on the value. I would go back except my wallet is holding me back. Hopefully after 3 months they reconsider their prices or maybe a lonely ole upper middle class person is not there market. I miss Beach Bums!

Yelp
Beef short rib was the best I ever had. Hands down! Great ambiance, food, and service. Argus the bartender was charismatic, personable, full of Aloha, and attentive. I highly recommended Haven's when you are in Ma'alaea.

Yelp
This great little Harborside restaurant has become a favorite of ours for date night and special celebrations. We regularly go for happy hour, which has a large menu at incredibly great prices! We go for lunch when we want to meet up with friends that can't make happy hour time and we get together for dinner for a romantic meal or an exceptional gathering with a couple of good friends The service is always good, you feel welcome and taken care of. The food is of such high-quality and innovative. Complex and delicious sauces, and beautiful presentations. Who's ever heard of an AI poke nacho?! It's just fantastic!! Don't miss it! It's served at lunch and happy hour. The "best on Maui" smash burgers are served throughout the day with an elevated version available at night due to it being a more fine dining experience. The dinner selection is fantastic with Diver scallops cooked to perfection or the very fun raw bar served in a teal tacklebox! I think it was the best cocktail shrimp I've ever had! Just huge and plump and firm at the same time served perfectly chilled. Their focaccia bread made fresh, baked in an iron skillet is not to be missed as well as the risotto is absolutely perfect . I am always disappointed when I order risotto out and this was the first time I got a risotto I've been dreaming about! For dessert don't miss the ice cream cake. It's served all day, it is made in house with homemade salted caramel sauce. Just amazing! This is our go to restaurant where we consistently have a fantastic time with a beautiful view and a central location to meet up with my husband after work.

Yelp
We stopped in last night to try out the New Haven's location. I love that they offer valet. You can drive up to the curb and hand over your keys. Not having to do the whole QR code parking lot thing is a huge plus. Next to the hostess podium is a little photo stand where you can take a pic (or boomerang) with their logo on it and have it emailed or texted to you. The decor is really nice . If you have ever seen what it was before when Beach Bum's was there, it's night and day. Beautiful job with the remodel. The drinks were tasty. Very trendy "mixology"style. I had a Freight Train and a Koki Kolada. The Koki was my favorite of the two, but it was definitely more of a dessert drink so I'm glad it was the last one I ordered. My date got the La Perouse. That was yummy too. We ordered scallops, honestly the highlight of the night. They were cooked perfectly and came with a yummy sauce. We also got the Manila clams, Maine Lobster Chophouse filet, and oyster shooters. I didn't love the lobster but it was huge and beautifully prepared. The filet came with a sauce, which was pretty much A-1. It was cooked perfectly but we did ask for salt. I'm a firm believer that if a steak is seasoned properly, no sauce of any kind is needed. But that's just me. We were seated outside along the balcony and had a pretty view. We were enjoying most of the evening just relaxing taking in the ambiance; until the table next to us had people visit them and they were just standing up around their table (and ours) talking loudly for a long time. Kinda a buzz kill when you're on a fancy date, but not the restaurant''s fault. It was pricey but they do offer Kamaaina discount and have a happy hour that looks great too.

Yelp
Don't get us wrong, the food here is yummy and fresh. We looked at the menu before we went. However our server talked over us and before you know it the items we intended to purchase. We didn't get. We even thought we ordered something and didn't get that either. Our server recognized his mistake and they comped us a desert. It goes to show that an over aggressive server can really ruin your meal and experience. If around next year we may try again.

Yelp
Came here for a business dinner. This restaurant was suggested by one on my guests. Great selection. Drinks, Lupus and entrees were very good. Finished the evening with some malasadas which were also on point.

Yelp
Haven's Harborside - A Hidden Gem in Hawaii! If you're ever in Maui Hawaii and looking for a place that feels like a perfect blend of relaxation and adventure, Haven's Harborside is a must-visit! The setting is serene, yet filled with an exciting, laid-back energy that captures the true spirit of Hawaii. The food here is absolutely top-notch. and every dish I tried was packed with flavor. If you love steak and garlic mashed potatoes, you have to try theirs - it's some of the best me and my husband have ever had. They also gave us a free desert for being on our honeymoon 2 nights in a row! The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, making sure we had everything we needed without being overbearing. The vibe of the place is casual, but with a touch of elegance that makes it perfect for both a relaxing dinner or a special night out. Whether you're sitting outside enjoying the sunset or inside surrounded by the beautiful decor, Haven's Harborside is the perfect spot to unwind, enjoy delicious food, and soak in the beauty of Hawaii. Me and my husband absolutely LOVED it!! I'll definitely be back next time I'm in town! Don't miss this hidden gem.

Yelp
Our party of 5 (4 locals and one visitor) made a res and went last evening. We arrived and the restaurant was only half full but we were immediately taken to a table in the far back of the inside near the service door. There were several water view tables available. When we said we'd prefer a view we had to wait another 10 minutes to be seated (not sure why since the table they ultimately brought us to had been set and ready). The waiter, Nate, was pleasant enough but didn't seem comfortable. Our family of 3 ordered several appetizers and main dishes. The other two ordered 3 main dishes with the scallop main dish to be served as their appetizer. This didn't happen. So they watched us eat ours. We then waited almost 30 minutes for our main dishes and instead the waiter came back to tell us two of our main dishes were no longer available and handed us menus! Ran out of lobster and kampachi. After finally getting all our food, I'll say everything tasted good. Not great but good although not to the level of the prices. As locals I doubt we will be back.

Yelp
Our first lunch visit as locals, it use to be Beach Bums and is now all remodeled new and very attractive and clean. The menu, service and food was great, I had the Furkake Mahi Sandwhich with Truffle Garlic fries. Nothing short of delicious Ono Grinds!! We will be back for the Dinner Menu this weekend. You should give it a try, you will not be disappointed. Shaka!

Yelp
Delicious food with an even better ambiance, and very attentive service. A bit pricey for what you get, served tapas style, all sides separate from entrees, but the experience & atmosphere makes up for the tab. *The Grilled big eye Ahi (cooked well on request) w smoked Maui onion was not worth $47, imo.

Yelp
On the website, it stated the dress was classy and the food looked amazing! Upon arrival, we were clearly overdressed as the atmosphere was very casual- like a diner.. very disappointing. We ordered the ribeye steak, risotto, and burger. Everything was fine. Not great- and for the prices I was expecting great. We also had the wagu croquets, green beans and two desserts- $300. Definitely not worth that price. They also charged $10 more to use a card instead of cash. Come on. We are on vacation and of course we are using a credit card.. staff was great with their recommendations but I'm sorry.. I cannot recommend this place as it was just good, not great..

Yelp
'Ono, delicious, and FRESHH!!!! The ambiance and just the whole look of this place is so beautiful! I've been a huge fan since Kihei gas station store, so I was excited to try the new restaurant the service is so welcoming and everyone has so much aloha. Their cocktails are delicious and refreshing but, I settled for the zero proof Makena, I'm a sucker for lychee and it was absolutely divine!! Alicia our server was great and attentive loved her service and personality. She was so sweet. Hope to see her again next time I'm in. Poke nachos were a lunch special today and UGH BEST IVE HAD ON ISLAND EVER. The homemade wonton chips and the freshest ahi poke with the perfect amount of spice. I couldn't stop eating it. My smash burger was amazing as usual. They do the kolohe fries at the food truck in Kahului but not at the restaurant. I still had to ask if they could do some for me cause I was 'onoing for it. I got lucky cause Chef Zach was in and he made it for me and it hit the spot!!! Love how accommodating everyone was and then the food just topped everything off for me. I'll definitely be back!! Mahalo to the whole team, 10 out of 10.

Yelp
Everyone needs a place to go to after a rough ride on the ocean and nothing better than an Open Air Bar at the Harbor. This location has been home to a few other types of bars. Some good, some bad. But...this is not about them. I like the way it looks, feels and is. Clean (when i was there) and comfortable. I sat at the Bar because that's where you can really enjoy the whole experience and talk to people and employees (i guess they're people too). The Bartender was spot on! No hesitation on acknowledging your presence. I actually watched other employees and it seemed that they did the same. The ambiance is a "Harbor Bar" which means that you shouldn't expect a manicured lawn and tiki torches. For me, I love it. It is perfect for just casually getting a drink and food. You can keep your Gemini Mind busy by watching the boats come in with a new crop of Tourists wobbling off of the boat after a bumpy ride. I ordered the Clams with Sausage and a few glasses of wine. Perfect. No, clams are not local so don't say "Maui has the best" but this dish was great. I observed other dishes going by and I don't think that there is any problem with the Kitchen staff. Everything looked great. Overall, I think this place is worth checking out. I would also venture to say that this is a great place to get a nightcap before they close. As for price...that's a topic that makes no sense anymore in this day and age. If its good? Just forget about it and enjoy, or have more to drink.

Yelp
The food was excellent. The service was not so great. Had a 12:30 reservation, got seated at 1:00. Drinks arrived at 1:25. Ordered a salad and the avocado was missing. Asked for soy sauce, it never arrived. Had to get up to ask another server for soy sauce. We expect more especially when the prices are so high. Not sure we will be back.

Yelp
My husband made reservations for my first time in Kihei, it was a date night for us to enjoy. The food was delicious and the guava malasadas were amazing at the end, this was a special evening for the both of us.

Yelp
Absolutely fantastic experience! My dad and I came here for dinner so this review is for the dinner menu. I believe the lunch menu is more like their food truck. We sat outside but kind of in the middle so it wasn't windy where we were. If you are familiar with Maalaea Harbor, you know it's going to be windy. Heck, all you need to do is step outside your car to figure that out. But you can also sit inside and still get a great view of the harbor. First, our server Liz, was amazing! It was a long day of hiking and I was READY for a drink. My brain was not really working, so she asked me what I usually drink (vodka), and recommended a vodka/watermelon/mint/lemonade cocktail which I thoroughly enjoyed. For dinner we ordered the Cowboy Ribeye steak (20 oz), Ohi Moana, Okoa Farm Green Beans, and the Crispy Potatoes. The ribeye was perfectly cooked, medium rare, and the Ohi Moana had some kind of magical broth that made everything delicious. Green beans were great, and the potatoes... we decimated that. Still had plenty left over to get a couple of to-go boxes. BUT that didn't stop us from ordering dessert! The Ube Velvet cake. We ate all of that. We will definitely be back!

Yelp
Mick our waiter and other staff really knocked it out of the park w their table service. We ate the cowboy ribeye 10/10 what a fine steak.!!!Yummy. Loved oyster mushrooms and save room for the guava filled Malasada See you again soon Havens !!! A cherry on top for this place is their ocean view!!

Yelp
We were at the Ocean Center on a Sunday and decided to walk down and check this place out. The restaurant itself is really cute. Great island decor and nice ocean views. Our server, Andrea K., was fantastic. She made sure the kids had their food quickly and was overall very attentive and friendly. It was around the holidays so they were offering the kids a gingerbread man to decorate with frosting, which we thought was a really nice touch! We love Haven's (we've gone to their original location in Kihei and now their food truck in Kahului), but the food at this location was just OK. Nothing really stood out and things were definitely overpriced, being that Ma'alaea is a more touristy area. My Aloha burger was good, but missing like a nice kick of spice or something. My boyfriend's fish tacos were pretty dry and needed more sauce. My son enjoyed his Smash Burger and my daughter liked her kids burger. I will say that the kids meals are pretty expensive considering they're for little ones--my daughter's kids burger was $18 and our friends paid $15 for their 4 year old's chicken tenders! Overall, service was 5 star, the food was a 3, so I'll give this place a 4.

Yelp
Incredible meal! Definitely will go back and recommend to my friends and visitors. Mahalo Chef Zack, Norm, Lance, Joanie and Kristie for making my Birthday dinner so special.

Yelp
We just had the best lunch of our lives! Maria was our waitress and she was an absolute angel. So sweet and attentive. They weren't busy and she even held our 6 month old so we could eat. The food was fantastic. We had smash burgers, fries, crab rangoons and the Mahi mahi. The cocktails were so good, the view was stunning and truly we couldn't have asked for a better experience. It would have been great for regardless but Maria pushed it over the top and made it an unforgettable lunch!

Yelp
We dined at Haven's Harborside for the first time May 5, 2025. We decided to dine there due to a friend's recommendation. We loved it! The food was amazing. There was so many unique flavoring that made an explosion in my mouth. My husband ordered the short ribs and said, "It is the best ribs he has ever tasted". I had the scallops which were delicious with a chili sauce and hollandaise sauce. I wouldn't have thought of those two sauces with the scallops, but it was outstanding! We had Manila clams for table which were unbelievably good (ask for extra bread to soak up the sauce). I will definitely return.

Yelp
Great new spot by the harbor. The service was excellent, drinks were very good and food was memorable. I had the spicy margarita and that was great, we started with a very good caesar salad, lots of dressing and super flavorful. The focaccia was less airy than other versions we have had but had good flavor. Mains were the scallops which were super rich but perfectly cooked and delicious. Ate the whole thing. The steamed Kanpachi was much lighter but flavorful with the broth that tasted like it had cooked for a long time. Finished with the ice cream cake and ate all of it, the cake was good but could've used even more caramel on the bottom for us.

Yelp
Came here for dinner on our last day in Maui. We had a reservation and were seated right away at a table really close to the harbor. We ordered a glass of white wine (they have a great Albariño from Galicia) and a local beer (bikini blonde) as entrees we chose the grilled big eye ahi and the steamed kanpachi. As sides we ordered the lobster Mac and cheese, the broccolini and the mushrooms. The grilled ahi was amazing. Really nicely flavored on the outside and perfectly seared. The steamed kanpachi was also great. The lobster Mac and cheese was good, could have been a little bit creamier. The balsamic mushrooms were great with the acidity of the vinegar. broccolini were good with a nice char. As desert we selected the Ube velvet cake. Unfortunately we didn't enjoy it that much. A bit too heavy on the cream cheese frosting and the Ube sponge was a bit overbaked. Still a great meal, but at that price level, can only give four stars. Staff were friendly and attentive, explained the menu with great detail and provided recommendations.

Yelp
Friendly server, quick service and overall good happy hour food! Steak was cooked perfectly and the chimichurri had great flavor. Poke was fresh, but I found the dish to be a little too saucy imo. Smash burger was worth the hype

Yelp
Haven's Harborside is the best restaurant in Ma'alaea hands down. The food is delicious local and very fun. So glad that the harbor finally has a great restaurant again. If you are in the area stop in and get some amazing food and great hospitality. I will definitely be back. Mahalo!

Yelp
This was our first time at Haven's Harborside after years of enjoying their Kihei location. I ordered the Freight Train drink to start, and it was made with a strawberry mint seasonal juice. It wasn't very strong, but that worked for me. I ordered the Ahi filet for $47. It didn't come with anything other than a little sauce. It was seared, and had good seasoning. But I would try something else instead. I added the side of chèvre corn for $16, and it was good, but only enough for one person. It was really hard to decide what to get because we could not find any marketing photos on their website/yelp/instagram. We sat outside, and initially were seated closest to the road. Maalaea harbor is the second windiest harbor in the world. And I was uncomfortable in that spot, so before sitting, I asked if we could sit elsewhere, since it wasn't fully packed, and they sat us outside still but closer to the glass. I would recommend bringing a sweater, as I was cold in a dress. The service was fine, but it was extremely noisy outside from the commercial vehicles driving by at the harbor, and just overall noise, where I wasn't able to hear the server tell us his recommendations. But they did a good job of filling our waters. And we didn't have to wait to be seated since we had reservations, and the flow of the meal was ideal. I look forward to coming back to try the lunch and happy hour menu's. The dinner menu was a bit out of my regular budget for living here on Maui, but it is decent pricing compared to some of the fancier hotel restaurants. And we greatly appreciated the Kamaaina at the end. The deserts were good though, $16 each. But a nice sweet treat to end the evening.

Yelp
Okay my friends! We stumbled upon this gem after debarking another fabulous whale watch with PAC Whsle Eco Adventures. We were looking for an amazing spot for a quick happy hour and yes! Did this tucked away restaurant deliver! "Havens Harborside Fish & Chophouse is located in the recently renovated "Ma'alaea harbor" shops on the island of Maui. Led by Maui local resident Chef Zach Sato, our restaurant showcases local flavors and island favorites all in an air-conditioned, comfortable setting. We use local fresh ingredients in our dishes and serve each guest with Aloha. Come let us share our Aloha with you. " from their website. We were treated with fabulous seats in the bar that looked out to the ocean still taking in sites of more whales and enjoyed the hustle and bustle of the harbor. The happy hour provided many great flavors for all from drinks to bites! $5 beers to specials on their special drinks a margarita and mai tai if I recall. Several nice varieties of wines, all paired fabulous with the shared bites. We ordered the lobster taco, the oyster shooters, and the tuna cake, all amazing. I will dream of returning to this gem. It will be our not to miss for every visit. 10 stars!

Yelp
Food is a bit pricey even by Maui standards but it is great. The servers are attentive and the restaurant/bathrooms are always very clean.

Yelp
We loved having Haven's at the Shell and were so excited when we heard they opened a sit down so we could really enjoy their amazing menu. However, we have been the to new Harborside location 4 times now for happy hour and the service is SOOOOOOO SLOW every time. (The extra o's are necessary) It is really disappointing because the staff is kind and we just cannot figure out if it's because they are understaffed or if they are being trained to not take as many orders during happy hour. We literally watched a family be seated today and no one spoke to them to take their order and they left after being ignored for 20 min. Additionally, we were informed today that they are no longer seating happy hour on the outside patio, so disappointing! Aside from barely seeing our waiter/trying to stare them down to get their attention, the food remains awesome. I could eat the lobster tacos every day for the rest of my life and be happy. The ahi poke nachos? Chef's kiss. The drinks are also delicious (big fan of the Mellow Waves from Aloha Beer Co. and the Paia Bay cocktail). The restaurant is definitely more upscale than their other locations but wanted to add that they make an effort to be family friendly. I have never been anywhere that has accommodated my 3yr old with a snack plate upon arrival so he had something to snack on while we were ordering and Haven's had that! (For the holidays they did gingerbread cookies and supplied frosting to decorate them! My son loved it so much.) We are gonna try to come back during the lunch or dinner hours to see if the service is a bit more attentive because the food really is great and I'd hate to cross this off our list of places to go or drive all the way across town to enjoy Haven's at the Costco trucks. Fingers crossed!

Yelp
The food was okay, but on the pricey side. We stumbled upon the place after a ferry ride from Lana'i, so no planning on our part, but the ambiance was appealing. Our server (his name starts with "C") was very friendly...until he realized that the two of us weren't going to order $300 worth of food and drinks. We weren't super hungry and don't eat much meat. I ordered the fish special, my husband ordered a few sides. He looked disappointed but was still polite. We each ordered a cocktail and they were great, but "C" was overly persuasive on us ordering a second drink. Eventually we both decided on a second. I heard our server talking to the lady at the table next to us. When she declined any alcoholic drinks, he said "Am I giving off sober vibes tonight because none of my tables are ordering alcohol!" Okay sure, he was joking...but was he really? Then when we said "no thank you" to dessert, I actually felt like he was angry with us. He completely turned off to my feedback about how much I loved the potatoes. It seemed he was doing math calculations in his head as he cleared our dishes from the table. When I asked for the bill, he was again polite as I tapped my credit card on the machine. But as he put the screen in front of me I could see that he had already selected a 25% tip for himself!! I know the machines don't start with the highest tip percentage...I always tip at least 20% but I have never seen someone try to pull this. Of course I felt uncomfortable changing the tip button while he was standing over me watching, so I went ahead with it (which I am sure he is betting on at least most of the time). I understand how hard it is to work in the service industry. I empathize, especially with Maui residents, as they continue to recover from reduced tourism after the Lahaina fire. But this left a really rotten taste in my mouth. Of course this isn't the restaurant's fault, but I hope they will speak with this server about not making guests feel pressured and uncomfortable.

Yelp
We came here for dinner. Food is good but little overprice. The portions is big. We ordered a ribeye, a new york steak and a chicken portion for 4 person with some appetizers. I wish their portions are smaller, so it's more affordable to dine here.
