Maui Travel Guide

"After cutting his teeth at the Relais & Châteaux property Hotel Wailea, Zach Sato opened his first solo project at an unassuming gas station in Kihei in December 2020. Havens serves up just-greasy-enough burgers smashed and seared on the grill and saimin dunked in three-day-boiled bone broth." - Chaney Kwak

The 22 Best Restaurants In Maui 2024 - Maui - The Infatuation

"Saimin and burgers are an old-school Hawai‘i pairing, and Havens does an excellent version of that combination. Choose between wagyu chow fun, smashburgers, and spicy tuna and garlic crab handrolls, but know the portions are hefty. We prefer the Kihei brick-and-mortar location that’s inside of a gas station convenience store, but it’s also worth checking out their food truck in Kahului that’s in a parking lot across from a Costco." - Martha Cheng, Team Infatuation

We wanted a burger tonight and this one looked like the one. So we went. Great little place, off the beaten track but worth the trip. Friendly service and reasonably quick. Excellent value for the money. Now, the burger... Amazing. So glad we came tonight. Burger was a bit messy to eat, the way it should be. Tots and frozen are quite big and easily shared between two people. Would love to come again. Hope we do!

This is the best kept secret of the area. The food was so great. The fish sandwich was packed full of layers of flavor and perfectly cooked fish. Noodle dishes were excellent. Great price, too. Quick service, walked up for take out, and had the food ready in under 10 minutes. Absolutely recommend this place.

The unchanging food scene in central Maui motivated me to drive to the south side for something new. Havens is Maui's newest eatery, opened by chef Zach Sato, formerly of Merriman's and The Restaurant at Hotel Wailea (the latter being a favorite of mine). ATMOSPHERE: They've taken over the former Suda Store space, sharing the building with the Shell gas station's convenience store. I knew I was in the right place as a five-alarm cloud of burger-grilling smoke punched me in the face as I entered the takeout-only eatery. The place was buzzing, especially due to their short operating hours of 10am - 3pm. MENU: Noodles (saimin, ramen, chow fun), oxtail soup, smash burgers in seven different selections, salad, sushi. FOOD: Deluxe Smash Burger - $9.00 Smash burgers are patties that are literally smashed on the grill to lock in the flavors and moisture, even resulting in an appealing texture. Don't think you're getting a skinny patty as this burger had some major weight to it as I picked it up which was a total surprise to me. The juices from the meat combined with the flavors from the dill pickles, melted American cheese and OG sauce (thousand island-based if I'm not mistaken) was so Haven-ly! Highly recommended! Crinkle Fries - $3.00 Your mainstream, frozen variety. The portion size was big enough for two to share. Tan Tan Ramen - $15.00 Not many places serve this complex broth and Havens hit it outta the park! Thick, creamy, spicy and filling, their version of sesame seed-based broth is very close to the benchmark recipe at Goma Tei Ramen on Oahu. Toppings included pork belly, Chinese broccoli, bamboo, garlic cloves and a "jammy" egg which was more hard-boiled than gooey and the only downfall of the dish. I can't comment on the true texture of the noodles as I had to warm everything up at home. A bit pricey but it's cheaper than flying to Oahu! SERVICE: I was immediately greeted and placed a walk-in order. A short 10-minutes later I had food-in-hand. OVERALL: The drive was totally worth it. Trying the Umami Smash Burger next.

Google
We heard about this place from The Hawaii Vacation Guide blog. Holy smokes! It did not disappoint!! And the prices are some of the lowest we’ve seen on Maui our entire trip! Good portion sizes, too. I ordered easily online (they have pics of most of the menu items) and our order was ready in 20 minutes. The North Shore Shrimp Plate was so good I never wanted it to end. Kids loved the smash burgers! Wish I had taken more pics but if you need affordable delicious takeout food in Kihei, this is your spot!!! The noodles looked amazing—wish I could stay longer and try them!!!

Google
I recently tried the Teppanyaki Style Steak Plate at Havens, featuring a 10 oz Angus New York steak. I asked for the steak to be cooked chef's style, and it was incredibly tender and delicious. The photo I took shows the steak halfway through eating . The vegetables served with it were also great. I first noticed Havens when at the Shell station for a car wash and saw many people ordering food. My decision to come back and try it out was definitely worth it. The meal was enjoyable and felt worth the price. Highly recommend for a satisfying steak meal. Even though it is located at the gas station there is still stool and counter top seating with the ocean visible from a portion. The staff was extremely friendly. Also free refills on soda :-)

Google
The freshest Poké bowl I’ve had on the island! Worth every cent and more! I’ve already planning and trying to figure out how to hit this up before leaving as it’s perfectly placed next to the airport! If you’re ravenous as soon as you get Off the plane and you need your immediate Hawaii food fix. Make sure to hit up the food truck lot across from Costco.

Google
This was our first stop after landing in Maui and was nearby our Airbnb. It was the tastiest burger we had on the island! If we weren’t keen on trying new places, we would have come back a second time!

Google
Excellent food and service!!! We had the crinkle cut fries, crazy tots, hurricane shrimp, and paniolo smash burgers. Topped off with key lime pie!! We will be back!!

Yelp
Had to stop by for some of Christie's delicious pies for Father's Day. Picked up the chocolate raspberry mouse, chocolate crème, guava and banana creme. All were big hits and nothing but crumbs were left.

Yelp
KIHEI, HI 96753 / SUN 10-29-23 / TAKEOUT LUNCH +The Fish Katsu ($19.00) was pretty good. +The 4-year-old really enjoyed the Saimin ($14.00). -The Market Fish Burger ($15.00) had a tiny sliver of blackened fish and extra large bun. -The Wagyu Beef Chow Fun ($19.00) came with very little pieces of beef. -The prices are pretty steep for gas station food.

Yelp
Went to Havens for their smash burgers and it was a pretty solid experience! I got the Boujee which had garlic aioli, sauteed mushrooms. It was pretty flavorful, didn't need any dressings on it since the garlic aioli was the star. The Crinkle Cut Fries were also pretty good, had a bit of seasoning on it already. The restaurant had a small area where you could eat, it shares the building space with a gas station so you could easily walk over to buy snacks or drinks. My only gripe would be the cost of the burger itself was $19 which is a bit steep. Their other burgers were cheaper in price ($12+) but my friends had to add ketchup to theirs so maybe they weren't as good as the Boujee.

Yelp
The noodles. Enough said. Just go, order, and enjoy. Ended up going back 3 times in our 5 day trip haha
google avatar

Miguel M.

Yelp
I got to try their smash burgers quite a good amount of times, and each time they were super delicious - my favorite ones had to be the Boujee and Umami burgers (love the high quality of the Boujee and the components inside the Umami like the bacon jam and roasted mushrooms) , and I've gotten to try a few of their specials too when my friends got them. Their burgers are famous for a reason and I absolutely see why people on Maui always talk about their smash burgers - definitely recommend you try one as well - Miguel Morales Photography

Yelp
Best burger I've had in the islands. Big fan of the animal style fries as well. Very easily shareable between 2 people. Got the double cheese and it was a huge burger. Would definitely go back

Yelp
foods great , service unmatched , If you stop at the food truck location I'd recommend the spicy ahi poke bowl and Kihei location definitely the wagyu chow fun ,boujieeee burger & crazy tots ! Go get some foodies y'all's

Yelp
Don't let the gas station convenience store fool you... this place is BOMBBBBB. I ordered so much more than my stomach can bare but I wanted to try it all! Definitely going to enjoy some leftovers. Smash burgers - I got the umami burger and the deluxe. The umami burger had great flavor, but loved the tang of the OG sauce on the umami burger. Deluxe def takes the cake. The burgers were cooked to a perfect medium rare. Adobo ribs - was curious to see how this would taste. As someone who grew up on traditional Filipino adobo, this is the only thing I wish I would have skipped. Don't get me wrong, the ribs and soup are good but I just wouldn't get it again! Kolohe fries - also a must. I am DROOLING at the thought of how good these were. Cheese, grilled onions, and OG sauce. Temaki - I got the salmon, ahi tuna, and unagi. Salmon is best one. I liked all, but prob wouldn't order again. If I come back to this place, definitely going to go with the burgers and fries! Wait was no longer than 10 mins. Thy packed everything in a box in to go containers. There were only a couple people there when I went (noon). There's limited seating but perfect for a meal by yourself or with another 1-2 people.

Yelp
This place was the best of both worlds. Plate lunch and burgers! Don't let the outside fool you, this food slaps. We got the katsu fish, shrimp, and a burger. All were well prepared, big portion sizes and flavorful. The service was good and the wait wasn't too long. Not much seating (not a surprise given location) but there is a few bar spots if you decide to stay.

Yelp
My boyfriend was craving burgers so we went to Havens for takeout. I got the umami burger and he got the paniolo smash burger. The burgers were very delicious and flavorful. Everything on the burger tasted yummy and paired well all together. We also got the kohole fries and we absolutely loved it. It was very saucy and savory. It had cheese, onions, and their OG sauce. We highly recommend it. Everything on the menu sounded great and I would love to come back. Customer service was friendly and quick. They did not have the temaki rolls.

Yelp
Haven's has been one of my go-to spots everyday since they opened. The quality of all the menu items are at the top. All their burgers have full flavor and the thing with Haven's, is that the burger patty is juicy and has a beautiful nice crust to it. They are always consistent all the time with their food. I also love their dry mein, has so much flavor and literally has all the ingredients that I love like garlic, green onions, sprouts and chili oil. Lastly their steak plate is definitely my favorite, which they've added on to their menu recently. I usually get this all the time on lunch when I'm either busy with my business or just another day cruising around Kihei. They always add the right seasoning and char to the steak. It's also cooked a beautiful medium. The sides that compliment the plate are also very good. Not bad at all for $24! I rather buy this all the time, than all the Wailea steaks! But, of course, I also love my Wailea steaks. Lastly the ambiance is casual, of course. Tucked neatly away in this gas station, it's a nice cute space with a few high chairs and tables and nice little counter that showcases their dessert. And the cashiers are always smiling and greeting! Very good people. Haven's is an AMAZING place, and I will never stop coming here. I promise you, you will NOT be disappointed!

Yelp
I was working nearby for about 2 weeks and I went here 4 times. My experience was great starting from ordering online. I love how it asked more than once to confirm I was ordering at the right location. I tried the smash burger, saimin (twice) - which were great, and Waygu Chow Fun - which was my absolute favorite. I told my sisters and we'll definitely go there the next time we're on Maui.

Yelp
Been here numerous times. Safe to say this place is becoming a hot spot. So much so they've got a food truck now. Noooiice. Smash burgers: on point. Crispy edges, juicy meat, perfect buns.... Sheesh. When they say "broke da mouth" this is all of that and more. Do a side of fries, or get weird and do an Oyster shooter or a side of Ahi Mac. (Both are solid choices btw) If someone in the pack doesn't want burgers their Fried Noodles are killer also... come to think of it I haven't tried something bad here yet. This is a true local style "something for everyone" kinda place. Expect a little wait, it's worth it.
google avatar

Yelp
Delicious! We loved the regular burger with fries and the fried noodles. Havens will be on rotation next visit!
google avatar

Yelp
Chocolate haupia pie was $10, they had a strawberry cheesecake mini for $5, and a banana cream pie for $10 from the display case. I settled for the chocolate haupia, but found I could have been better without it. The crust was kinda bland, not very flakey. Whipped cream was a bit much for my liking. Chocolate haupia was adequately sweet, but it didn't leave me wanting more. Though the pie didn't blow my mind, I'd be open to trying the burgers!

Yelp
Always great. Burgers are perfect. Fries are amazing. Service and atmosphere is always wonderful at this store. Easy access to parking. All good.
google avatar

Joan F.

Yelp
We didn't love this place or the food. We know we're in the minority in our stance, but the atmosphere is a major buzz kill, and the food was just okay. The fries were completely pedestrian and the burger was really salty. The caramelized onions were triumphant, however. Mostly, this is a grab and go place. That's never a good strategy for hot, crispy fries. Pass for us, which gives you more room in the tiny area to sample the menu for yourself.
google avatar

Yelp
We'd heard of this place and driven by many times but hadn't ever stopped, finally had the time to stop and boy am I glad we did. It's easy to find behind the Shell station, not alot of parking though. It has only 5 bar stools for its eating area so best to plan to take your food home or to the beach. It seemed most people phone in their orders there was a lot of pickup orders, but our wait was only 10-15 minutes so not long at all.. They have lots of choices I got the regular smashburger and an order of crazy tots. Both were large, tots could easily be shared by 2 people. They gave me a pager which was nice, guess most people wait outside. I will definately stop here again.
google avatar

Regina R.

Yelp
Tried the deluxe smash burger. It did not disappoint. The crunchy pickle slices were yummy. Next time i will do the burger with no lettuce or tomatoes. It kinda detractedfrom the so Yummy burger Meat. Almost reminded me of an elevated in an out burger. That's a compliment. The service was friendly. My only negative was the bun was oddly cold like it came from the freezer. Will be back to try the chow fun and Ramen.
google avatar

Darlene R.

Yelp
Had a great experience again with friendly service and a red button to take to your car. When it lights up and vibrates your food is ready! Yummy food!!! A must stop shop!!!
google avatar

Magda M.

Yelp
Ordered the fried noodles, fries with OG sauce and the other toppings and a smash burger. Got the smash burger with a second patty. It was so delicious - great bun, sauce, cheese and all around ratios. I would definitely eat this again!! If the food wasn't so darn good, I'd ding a star because the online order told me it'd be ready by a certain time- I arrived then, the lady working said a few more mins, and it ended up being almost 30 mins after the estimated ready time. But, I'm going to assume this is island time and my expectation of promptness is unreasonable haha.
google avatar

Caroline D.

Yelp
Honestly I wasn't sure what to expect But a burger induced orgasm certainly wasn't it Seriously this smash style burger is bigger and juicer than most meats I've put in my mouth. And those fries are exceptional!
google avatar

Jessie I.

Yelp
Always good food and service. Burgers are great, creative and different from other burger places. Recommend to others.
google avatar

Kulany H.

Yelp
Great smash burgers & fries! Heard their Philly cheesesteak, which is only a special sometimes is awesome too , plan to try it next if possible. Definitely recommend this little spot in Kihei! Additionally, there's a larger Havens opening soon in Maalaea Harbor! Yay!!
google avatar

Susan Z.

Yelp
Ono food and pick up the original smash burger while you are there. Super friendly folks own this eating establishment. You won't need to wait long for your food ether. We loved the won ton soup. We will try the sushi and fish sandwich next time! Gotta try this place either pick up take out for the beach or on the way home from work. Happy Eating!

Yelp
This little hole in the wall spot is connected to a Shell... but don't judge a book by its cover! We ordered: Umami Burger- Omggggg this burger was soooo good! The beef patty was so well seasoned and the bleu cheese aioli was BANGING. I love me some stinky cheese. Market Fish Burger- fish was fresh and the slaw lifted the flavors up, especially with a squeeze of lemon on top. A little hard to eat with all the slaw, but nothing a fork couldn't fix. Wagyu Chow Fun- my least favorite part of our meal :( The meat was a little under seasoned and the noodles weren't too special. Not sure if it was worth the $19. I'd skip on this. Crazy Tots- tater tots with kimchi and some sort of aioli topped with furikake and green onions. I forgot how the lady explained it to me but bottom line was these were goooood. Nice side for the burgers. My family came back to this spot 2 nights in a row and my dad even wanted to come back for a 3rd night, simply for the Umami burger (but we decided too late and it was closed)! Yes it was that good. I wish I could eat some now!!!! Highly recommend.
google avatar

Taylor N.

Yelp
Smash burger was great but really the only thing I would recommend from what we tried. We also tried the fried noodles which lacked flavor. The crazy tots were good but very very heavy and we couldn't finish them. We got a side of the smoked Mac salad which smelled really good but again didn't have much flavor.
google avatar

Elson B.

Yelp
The first food stop on our Maui trip was recommended to us by Megz. It's a hole in the wall called Havens. She recommend smash burgers, crazy tots, and the adobo ribs. So we did. All of it. We did. The burgers were hella good. Nice crispy on the edges. We got the Umami and the Paniolo smash burgers. It's was perfectly messy and delicious. Crazy tots was sauced up and topped with kim chee and furikake. Lots of flavors and punch. Fries were crinkle cut - crispy and fluffy. We also picked up a banana cream pie. This crust was flakey in all the right ways and the filling definitely was light enough to not end the meal in a real heavy way, but good to get some sweetness in from all the salt of everything else. Definitely recommend! And you wouldn't even realize that it's attached to gas station convenience store.
google avatar

Liz L.

Yelp
They had no vegetarian options so I was disappointed. It's a gas station so the ambience is lacking with limited seating.
google avatar

Yelp
The food is so ono. The paniolo burgers and the ramen just makes me happy. The owners and staff work really hard. I'm so glad they are here and they are open.

Yelp
I loved this place. The burgers were huge and juicy and I loved the OG sauce. The loaded tots were so good. I'd come to this food truck again, most definitely.

Yelp
This year I've had the absolute privilege to spend a month in Maui, and so I decided to make finding the "Best Burger on Maui." After trying out a number of the most recommended places on the Maui, the smash burger at Havens seized the crown. Be warned this place is in a gas station, but trust the process on this one. These guys cook up a real solid one and their other food like the fish katsu is great as well. From the bottom bun to the top these folks don't skimp on quality and it shows in every bite. Definitely check this place out if you're hungry for a burger near Kihei

Erin Z.

Yelp
We stopped in here a few days back to get some gas and ended up grabbing some pies (which are EXCELLENT, btw) however the smell of the burgers brought us back. On our last day after hitting the beach we decided we wanted to head up and try more than just the pies. To even read that someone would call this "pedestrian" is LOL (especially seeing that they gave 4-5 stars to literal banquet food) if you just like McDonald's, just say that. This was fire, the loaded fries, tots, killer smash burgers, we are all pissed we only ate here once. Got some killer hot sauce, too. Staff was super friendly, the woman at the counter was so nice we just ended up sitting there and eating. You're not gonna wanna wait to get home to smash this food. Solid burgers, solid sauces and solid sides all around. Definitely going to stop in more on our next trip. Mahalo!

Erin F.

Yelp
The fried noodles here are delicious. Not skimpy with the pork either. Definitely recommend if you like chowmein--just a better version.
google avatar

Ray D.

Yelp
10/10 incredible food, service, and flavor! This was our first visit and we were blown away with the portions. Mahalo for such a great experience!

Yelp
I was not expecting this place to be in a gas station mart so imagine my surprise when we pulled up... but don't judge a book by it's cover! The smash burgers were such a good break from the food options in the area (I feel like filled myself up with tons of rice throughout our trip) - be wild, get extra saucy with your burgers. Quick service/turn around time for your food, enjoyed it in our car. Would come back again!

Yelp
Good food at a gas station???? No! AMAZING FOOD!!! Get here and get here now!!! I've been wanting to try this place for months but the hours they are open, never seemed to match up with ours. Until this past rainy, cloudy Saturday when they posted about fresh spicy clam chowder. We called in our order to a very nice girl on the phone, 20 minutes til pick up. Ordered the fried noodles and the clam chowder. 20 min was enough time to run to the market and get some sourdough bread to make our own bread bowl. (We assumed since its Maui and not San Francisco the chowder wasn't coming with bread - we were correct btw, it did come with a small container of rice) Got to Havens, 2 people waiting, one just ordered. We gave our name, food was packaged and ready, we paid, talked story & were on our way. We mentioned the bread bowl and the girl being from back east, said that's what she was thinking about & now she was craving it (hope she ended up doing it). Got home & was instantly impressed by the taste of both dishes!!! We swapped to share but I had to put the soup down or else I would've finished all of it, and my husband said the same of my noodles. The clam chowder said spicy but honestly it wasnt (which is fine, added a bit of Tabasco), it was full of whatever goes into clam chowder other than clams and it was so delicious I was sad I didn't order it. The fried noodles were so flavorful and again I have no idea what was added to it but the container was completely cleaned out when I was done. Both dishes were absolutely delicious!!!! Would we return? Yes! I want to try more of the menu but I'll be honest, if they have that clam chowder and it's 90 degrees outside I would still get it!!!

Yelp
When I returned to work I had heard from coworkers that new place had opened near us, up in the Da Suda's old spot. They has mentioned that they're usually really busy & have sold out many times. Well, after hearing that, of course I had major fomo & had to go try it out. They offer quite the variety, from smash burgers, to ramen, to sushi & more. Decided on a burger as it was one of the cheaper items on there. Went with the teriyaki burger, since the toppings on there were very simple, lettuce, red onion, & miso mayo. As I was waiting I noticed that a lot of people had called in their orders, which seemed like the thing to do. It doesn't come with fries, but you can order it on the side for $3. Burger had good flavor & really didn't need anymore toppings then what was already there. Fast forward to yesterday, I had seen on Instagram that their special today was gumbo! Where on Maui do you ever see that?!? Haven't had that since being in New Orleans 2 years ago, so you could say that I was excited & had to get some. This time I called it in & was told it would be about a 15-20 minute wait. Even their phone line is busy, took me a couple tries to get through. The gumbo came with crab, shrimp, sausage, okra, & I think chicken. It was pretty tasty with just the right amount of heat. They do give you more hot sauce on the side if needed. I definitely recommend calling in your order or be prepared to wait a little bit. The location is perfect, so they're always busy. A lot of people that work in the area seem to stop by. Pricing is a bit high, so you probably can't make it a weekly things, but it's worth a try. Follow their insta for the specials.
google avatar

Jessi Lynne B.

Yelp
So yum! Definite must try spot. Had the Wagyu Chow Fun and the Fried Noodles. Both had so much flavor. My favorite of the two would be the chow fun. I'm biased to the chow fun but the Wagyu was super soft, moist, and delicious. I wouldn't mind just a side of that it was so good! I do recommend calling in your order if you have the chance. First, to make sure they're open and to inquire on any specials they may have. This is a popular spot and can get busy. Not much space to wait around due to covid and it shares stalls with a gas station and convenience store. It's a small space overall and can get congested very quick. The workers are sweet and work hard to get your food to you fast. High quality stuff. Get what you pay for at this location for sure! Support local :)

Yelp
We drove special to Kihei, just to check out the burger and noodles at Havens. Was it worth the special trip out here? Most definitely! The employees are friendly, and the burger is outstanding. I tried the Paniolo which included applewood bacon, onion rings, cheddar cheese, and the "OG sauce". It was messy, but ohhh so good! The next time I come here, I want to try the wagyu chow fun. It's $19, but I think it will be worth it! The food came out quick and they do offer online ordering. Highly recommend if you are a fan of burgers!

Yelp
The best way to order? Through their website. Best way to really torture yourself I mean inform yourself on how delicious every single thing is. Check out their IG as well for mouth watering pictures. Your standards that you must order: Smash Burger - any kine is fine for me, but I love the OG Tots - load those spuds up. I hope you wear loose pants while eating this because you wil crunch every lash bite. Saimin - Char Siu got me crying over old memories of my Nanai making soup for us back in the day. Best paired with any of their classic sodas made with real cane sugar. Jaritos, Mexican CocaCola. Take a buzzer when you order, sit in the car and wait for custom cuisine that will, like I said, make you cry happy tears.

Yelp
The burger was very good quality and lots of flavor. Easily a burger I would recommend for people. Didn't come with fries which was disappointing but the burger made up for it.

Yelp
Didn't expect this location to be a gas station, to-go counter, food venue attached to a quickie mart. Lol. My family teased me about this after we arrived. However I pointed out this gas station venue came with bar seating and a distant ocean view of the Kihei beaches! Haha. They are open 7 days a week from 10am to 8pm. Their bar stool seating available is limited with only 5 seats. Most people phone in orders for pickup, and there were many people coming in to get their takeout while we were there. Overall, food was decent tasting and value for Hawaii. I had the paniolo burger (onion ring, bacon, and their secret fusion bbq sauce atop a smashed burger patty and toasted bun). My mom had their saimin noodle soup, which she enjoyed, and her partner had a cheeseburger and fries. They also sell musubi, mini pies and other quick dishes. What was interesting is a hot shoyu sauce called Paia Pepper Sauce, which they featured/sold. It was apparently made by a local firefighter.

Yelp
The food is tasty, but sometimes feels a bit expensive for what it is. Don't get me wrong, I have really enjoyed their smash burgers when I got it in the past. The patty is thin, but the sauce is amazing and all the flavor combos are fantastic.I don't have a huge appetite, so for me it was just the right size. So delicious! I typically try to only go here when I have a coupon because it does feel a little pricey for the portion size, but things here are usually delicious... So yeah, take that as you will ‍

Yelp
Yum! Smash burgers done right! I always call in my order and pick up. Not really a place you want to go eat it's on the side of a convenience store. Nothing bad there's just no seating for eating. They offer noodles and smash burgers. Small menu but not one thing on that menu will let you down. Personally I have not tried the noodles yet however I've heard they are delicious. I have tried all of the burgers and love every one. If you are in the mood for a messy burger pay a visit to Havens!!

Yelp
We had Fried noodles, Panioli burger, an Original burger and fries. The noodles were a four. Good taste and nice bite. The burgers were made of good quality ingredients. Solid, but nothing special...

Yelp
Don't judge a book by its cover. Havens is Maui's newest eatery, opened by chef Zach Sato, formerly of Merriman's and The Restaurant at Hotel Wailea. Located in a Shell gas station's convenience store, Haven's sources from many local farms and suppliers. Expect quick service, made to order food, and no-frills Hawaiian favorites. Chef/owner Zach Sato specializes in smash burgers, which uses a cooking technique of smashing ground beef on a grill to sear in the juices. You can also find oysters, noodle plates, temaki sushi, Crazy Tots aka hurricane tater tots topped with furikake, ahi tuna mac salad, and a slew of other must-orders. Even the saimin broth takes three days to make. The restaurant may be in a gas station, but they don't cut corners for quality.

Yelp
So awesome! We've been trying to get to Havens and finally made it on this trip. Best burger I've had in a long, long time! Don't go here. Run here! The food quality is very high and equal to some of the best burgers back in your home city, probably better. We can't wait to come back!
