"In Wisconsin, fish fries are a way of life. Tail Feathers, this picturesque golf club’s restaurant, serves up popular renditions exclusively on Fridays in the form of crispy beer-battered cod and breaded lake perch filets. It all goes down perfectly with a brandy Old Fashioned — a regional staple." - Naomi Waxman

We had our wedding at Hawk’s View on June 29th, 2024. We could not have asked for a better experience! We booked the venue June of 2023 and consistently worked with the coordinator leading up to our wedding day, when in May we were told she no longer works for the company. This did create some concern as we were a month out from our wedding day. Matt, the general manager, assured us everything would go as planned and to remain calm. He really was wonderful with meeting our needs and expectations for the wedding day. He was extremely responsive and reachable, constantly keeping us updated with anything we needed to know. He made sure that everything we expected was still honored from the previous coordinator. In fact, he even went out of his way to make improvements for us regarding multiple aspects of the wedding. For our actual wedding day, it could not have gone more perfect! There was not a single thing that went wrong that day. Matt, Jack, John and Ashley were all incredible with making sure everything went extremely smooth. They were so kind, personable, and accommodating to us to ensure we had the best day and we really did. Our guests had a great time and so did we, and we had so many compliments about the food. We could not have had a better wedding day!! We are so extremely appreciative of all of the staff members at Hawk’s View that ensured this happened for us in the way that it did. We’re still kind of in shock at how perfectly everything went, but are forever grateful for it. We wish we could do a round two and relive this day. We would recommend this venue to all moving forward! This venue will forever hold a special place in our hearts and we can’t wait to visit! P.S. We left our cake dish at the venue and our baker requested that we bring it back to her. We contacted Matt and asked if he could ship it to us so we could eventually bring it back because we live about an hour and a half away from both the venue and the bakery. He responded by literally bringing the dish to the bakery himself so we didn’t have to worry about it. Truly above and beyond. All our gratitude!

Dined here for their Easter Buffet. Reservations were required, and there were two seatings, a 10:30 am and a 12:30 pm. We had a party of 14 and found Hawksview to be professional and prompt. Quickly seated when we arrived, we had an extremely attentive waitress. The food was excellent, our group especially enjoyed the meats, like the carved beef tenderloin, ham, bacon, sausage, chicken, and fish. Would also like to mention the dessert table, which was fantastic. I particularly enjoyed the homemade turtles. The environment is just beautiful, a rustic, elegant feel. Price was $59.00 per adult, plus 21% gratuity, and additional 5.5% sales tax. Well worth the price. Highly recommend.

I got married at Hawk's View June 2024 and it was the PERFECT place to get married! The views outside and photo ops were fantastic. Indoors had a rustic but elegant feel which was perfect for us! They have a bridal suite there to get ready day of which was very convenient. Matt and his entire staff day of were beyond helpful and great with communication. The food was delicious as well! I would recommend Hawk's View to anyone looking to get married!

We got married at Hawk’s View this August and it was absolutely perfect! We received so many compliments on how beautiful the venue was, how great the food was, and how amazing the staff were. It truly was a perfect day and we are so happy we chose Hawk’s View. We highly recommend them!!

Beautiful course. Played here for the first time for a birthday outing. We all had a great time and course was in great condition. The views are awesome. Took this photo on the Par 3 on 17.

Google
Very well kept and challenging course! There are several really Scenic fairways and plenty of elevation changes. Add it to your list of places to golf! Good food options in the clubhouse as well.

We had our wedding here Oct 21, 2023. It was an amazing experience, our guests could not stop talking about the views and the beauty of the venue. The food and service was great, I would recommend anyone to host an event here. We also very much enjoy golfing here.

Anthony M.

Yelp
Fantastic staff, food and views.... Bonus AWESOME Pro Shop serviced by a GREAT staff!

Yelp
Will never play here again. The course is not bad to play, but it's absolutely undisciplined run poorly and completely ineffective. There are better courses in the area I'll spend my money there rather than play this piece of shit again.

Charles Y.

Yelp
Yes. They really do golf right here. We took a few family members here to play the amazing 3 par course. They had never played golf before. It was enjoyable. Very well maintained and beautiful. They even had a starter on the first hole who was very nice and ensured the space between groups was maintained. The carts were also very nice with tv screens in the cart to reflect yardage. We had a great time on this course and I believe we paid ~$100 for 4 people.

Lynn W.

Yelp
This is one of our favorite courses, we've been playing here once a year since 2004. The course is very scenic with some holes around water, some with lots of trees, and some great elevation changes. All the holes are different so it's not boring. The halfway house is very nice. The back 9 is harder than the front 9. The carts have GPS and the staff is very friendly. We usually play in early fall when they have some great deals. We played the other day for $49 but have also payed up to $89, definitely worth it.

Mika B.

Yelp
Great little par 3 golf course in southeastern WI! Greens were smooth and rolled true (far better than most par-3's). There were a good variety of holes and course characteristics. The superintendent and his crew do a great job maintaining the course! Tees, approaches, rough, and greens were maintained to the standards of $100+ 18-hole courses. Bunkers were decent and overall played good for what they are..... a hazard. We played 18 holes on Labor Day weekend (mid-morning) and only had to wait on the first two holes!!!!! Clubhouse staff was not the most accommodating or professional. Rental clubs were very nice - current Callaway setup. Overall we had a very good time and will definitely play here again!

Yelp
Finally got around to review my rounds from last year, and I felt it necessary to make some comments about this course for those considering making the trek. First off, let me start with the fact that I think Lake Geneva golf is fantastic. Plenty of great courses at reasonable prices available for those looking. That being said, it's a real shame this course and specifically the workers started thinking they are Erin Hills. If you want to be treated like a second class citizen, this is the course for you. The rangers are obnoxious, and they will hound you for 4+ hours even when you are keeping pace. If that's your thing, please book a tee time today. There are a couple fun par 3s, but the front nine especially is painfully repetitive. I am extremely disappointed in how this course has gone south over the last couple golf seasons. If you are planning some golf in the greater Lake Geneva area, I highly recommend their competition. Better courses and better staff, what more can you ask for?

Ben B.

Yelp
Upping it to three stars because we had a great experience the second time playing the championship course. But shouldn't have to be terrified for 12 holes that we're going to get yelled at by a ranger before we could actually enjoy the course.

Rob B.

Yelp
I unfortunately cannot recommend Hawks View. I had a horrible experience here - given the price of the round, drinks, and food, you can find a much better experience in the Lake Geneva area. Golfer beware! - Right off the bat, we were put off the first tee 15 minutes late, no apologies from the staff. - The ranger was watching us tee off - afterwards we rode forward cutting across the fairway to track our balls, and he came up to scold us like school children for driving on the grass...it was not 90 degrees, the course was dry, and we knew we were being watched, so we didn't do anything other than driving across the fairway. Regardless, he proceeded to preach to us that we should do 90 degrees on any hole as a courtesy to the course. - Fairways and green maintenance was lacking. Found my ball in two divots on the fairway during the round and had lots of green repair to do before putting. - We tried to get food quickly at the turn. Even after calling it in to the club house ahead, we waited for 20 MINUTES putting us well behind page - After our round, the bar had 3 tap beers that were kicked, so I decided to go with a cocktail from their menu...only to be told by the bartender that they didn't know how to make that cocktail. Huh? I guess I'll take the Miller Lite. - Lastly, ordered a brat after our round, and it took the kitchen 30 minutes to put it out. Simply ridiculous.

Yelp
I have been here a few times now over the years and now recently for the first time in many. This is a beautiful course. As we came here during the off season and early so we caught a special that made the price a real deal. Otherwise this is a pricey outing during the season. The course itself is difficult and has many very long par 4's as well as par 5's. This is great if you want to play a bit of a longer and harder course. Definitely not a good place for a hacker such as myself. You will loose many balls but you cost per stroke makes it a value if you look at it that way. But who cares? For me the score counts the least as the most important part is to be out in beaufull weather with great friends in beautiful scenery having a few drinks and sharing some laughs at the bad shots. The serious or advanced golfer would enjoy this course I would suspect.

David B.

Yelp
First time visiting and on a fish fry evening. Had reservations and was quickly seated. Went with a combo fry and it was very good. Service was attentive - refills quick. Beautiful bar and dining area. Will return.

Lauren H.

Yelp
The worst service in Lake Geneva and disgusting food. We waited 30 minutes before a waitress even took our drink order. It wasn't even busy. This was not on one occasion either. We have tried this place time and time again and have never had any luck. Fish is soggy, bread was hard. Just disgusting. I'll never go here again and I suggest you do the same.

Michael M.

Yelp
Pretty course but last two times out the pace of play has been terrible. Groups ahead are out of position and no rangers in sight. Simple fix but course seems uninterested in remedying a fundamental problem. Five hour rounds - no thanks

M P.

Yelp
A lovely golf club in a lovely area. Very professional customer service. We were allowed to park our motorhome on the grounds are are so appreciative. Looking forward to playing a round of golf in Spring. Thanks again for the excellent customer service.

Yelp
Very nice 9 hole course.....great place to start my daughter out.... staff was really nice

Steve-Sandra N.

Yelp
We had my daughter's wedding and reception at Hawks View. Becky, the Wedding Coordinator, was a pleasure to work with. Every detail was discussed and addressed. On the day of the wedding, any issue that came up, Becky was able to resolve in seconds. The venue is stunning and the food was delicious. I highly recommend Hawks View Golf Club for any special event.

Yelp
We stopped by for the Friday Fish Fry and enjoyed the visit. The club has a great location, friendly staff, a great bar and the fish fry was good. The building itself has a lot of ambiance and plenty of room. There was a wedding party but it did not impact on the dining room. Try it as it is close to town but very casual and out of the way.

David M.

Yelp
First fish fry there tonight....excellent. Friendly, prompt service; pretty narrow menu...but, hey, it had the SoWI standard...a Friday night fish fry, so what the heck. Sarah had the broiled haddock; came with corn fritters and a slew of cooked carrots. Haddock was excellent; the fritters were not your usual brown golf balls - these were soft with an interesting sweetness....almost like beignets....excellent as well. My fish fry....beer battered cod...was also really good....flaky and not overcooked. Pancakes were good..not great....and the cole slaw / applesause and fresh rye bread...really fresh...were all good. Top it off with Spotted Cow on draft (and Blue Moon for Sarah) and life is good on a Friday night north of the cheddar curtain.

Steve R.

Yelp
Fun course and great value. Its a good challenge, lots of elevation and good views of lake geneva. There is one hole that is the highest point in town and you can see for miles around, pretty cool view. Some holes are a little too tricked up, but overall a fun course with good prices.

Anthony M.

Yelp
Had an incident at home in Chicago and couldn't get a reservation for Easter brunch at late notice.Called the golf course at 9 am and asked the very kind man on the phone if there was any possibility of squeezing us in for 2 for Easter brunch and told him we'd be driving up from Chicago. After putting me on a brief hold he came back and asked if 1:30 was ok? We jumped at the offer and drove up and had the perfect day. The weather, the ambience, the food, and Charlie our server was a gem. Thank you for making our Easter a pleasant one.

Rox H.

Yelp
Drove from East Troy for the fish fry. Had high hopes with it being a nicer country club and we had attended Mothers Day brunch there and it was very good. We were seated near the fireplace which was nice and our waitress was very friendly. Sadly, the fish came and it was not very good :( we tried all three kids: Beer battered, fried and baked. The Beer battered had a nice light tempura batter but the fish itself had no flavor other than it was thrown in a deep fryer. The fried was the same- lacked flavor. The baked had flavor but was not a good flavor at all. The tartar sauce was also very sweet which was off putting. The potato pancakes were good, fries were not great. We will not be back for the fish fry. I'm their defense, I haven't had a good fish fry in Lake Geneva yet! Every place has been sub par. Much better places in Delavan, Elkhorn, East Troy, Mukwonago for a fish fry.

Dan T.

Yelp
We picked Hawks View because of the low cost, but don't let that fool you. The course is great, the staff is great, and the views are beautiful. I only get out a few times a year, but this is my favorite course.

Jj H.

Yelp
Easter brunch was really nice organized and clean set up friendly staff "klaus" was smiling while carving the meats and said Happy Easter to us Foods were great, chicken was outstanding, and I spoke to the Chef Eric and he was super duper nice and his foods were great, thank you!!!! All of the staff were friendly and smiley, makes a huge difference, thank you Manager was there making sure everything ran smoothly Easter bunny was there as well :) clean bathrooms, nice pro shop, just need to sell some designer "Lilly Pulitzer" clothing there! Plenty of parking, beautiful view Just the music was on the wrong station, rock and roll does not go well with Easter brunch, lol.

Lois P.

Yelp
Great food! Great service! I love the fact that the restaurant is so very homey, it's like being in someone's dining room. There is also a ballroom for larger parties. This is a place that I highly recommend!

Andrew M.

Yelp
We just had our wedding at Hawks View, this past weekend, and we were truly impressed. We went up several times throughout the year to plan with their wedding coordinator, Becky. She is exactly the kind of person we wanted when going through this process. She won't bore you with sales pitches and overwhelm you with phony compliments or suggestions. Becky gets things done and gives it to you straight up, from your first meeting with her, when going over vendors and giving you alternatives to save money, to an hour before the wedding and doing your last walk-thru. The facility itself is impressive. A beautiful golf course and Pro Shop where Matt helped me put together an outing for the day before the wedding. They tailored the event to my specific requests: Tee-times, drink tickets, contests, prizes. Everyone had a good time and remarked on the impeccable course conditions. As for my new wife, she couldn't have been happier. The bridal suite was exactly what she was hoping for and the food met every expectation we had. The staff was extremely attentive, from bartenders and servers to other managers and assistants. One of our guests dropped her phone in the toilet, a staff member gave her a bag of rice to help dry it off. One of my groomsmen lost his sunglasses the night of the wedding and they had them waiting for him the following morning. They paid special attention to guests with food allergies and were extremely polite and accommodating to everyone who attended our wedding. Several guests commented on how it was 'the best wedding they ever attended.' A comment you hope to hear, but never really expect; music to our ears.

Randy C.

Yelp
Went for Fish fry 2 weeks ago it arrived fast but not even luke warm. The batter had no flavor and the fish was mushy. also ordered the beer battered shrimp was also mushy and no flavor. Will not eat here again. Much better places around lake geneva.

Kat G.

Yelp
Over the weekend, we attended a wedding at the Hawks View Golf Club. It is very secluded and a gorgeous golf course. It was nice getting there early and having a drink from the bar that serves the golf course. The ceremony was held on site and had a beautiful rolling green background. The seating was set up in an outdoor structure with a roof and open on three sides. It was a hot day but we were comfortable since the sun was not blaring down on us. Thank God the bride and groom chose a quick ceremony. It was short and sweet! They are a beautiful and fun couple. After the 5 minute ceremony, the club set up two bars outside and we could get margaritas and pina coladas on one side, or beer on the other side. We hung out outside, went through the receiving line outside and eventually were seated at an indoor event room. The room for the dinner had soaring oak ceilings and two whole walls of windows. The food was OK, it came out warm, but it was a little bland. The servers were not good about refilling water or coffee. As wedding sites go, this one was A-OK. There is room for them to improve though.

Erin A.

Yelp
Wow! Disappointed we waited so long before we came here. It's so close. You skip the downtown parking and enjoy quality food. Small menu but the fish fry was the best we've had in a long time. Fresh, hot food served quickly by friendly service. No need for dessert with the corn fritters. We will be back!

Penny W.

Yelp
If not for the wedding coordinator, my daughter's wedding would have been perfect. Why this woman is still employed here is beyond me; I've seen previous reviews mentioning her in a negative tone. She wasn't thoroughly helpful in assisting my daughter in the arrangements and planning before the wedding, swore (the F word) at the Maid of Honor on the day of the wedding and at some point, I'm not sure when because we were not told, she was gone - just left. Everything about my daughter's day was perfect...except for this coordinator. I've worked in the hospitality / customer service industry and, in any other setting, if the hired help swore at a client they would have been fired on the spot. I loved the setting, the venue, the food, the other wait staff, the shuttle driver (who was excellent, by the way) - so thank goodness she was just a drop in the bucket of an otherwise perfect day.

Mattt K.

Yelp
For my fellow golfers.....hawks view is a must must must if you want to play a great track. I mean...from the long manicured fairways to the true professional greens (no kidding) to the scenic views. Each hole can easily eat you up in a hurry and none are gimmies. This could easily pass as a country club and even us low handicapper's will know this sucker is a total challenge. The best part....the price tag is WAY below Geneva National or the Grand. If you are a golfing snob like me.....if you really want to be wow'd with your $$$...if you want a country club track that is beautiful, maintained, tough, undulating, elevation changes, beautiful, and does not have a high price tag, get to Hawks View. Oh....their staff from pro shop to the bar/grill to the beverage cart have been great. I'm in Chicago...I found out about this place from a client about a month ago and have been up 3 times....driving up on 120 I was a bit worried about all the corn fields......don't be!!

Shyla B.

Yelp
Not only is this location the MOST beautiful location for our wedding but Becky the wedding coordinator is amazing! She is great and because of her our day will be that much more amazing!! The only thing that sucks is it is very pricey but its worth it! :)

Brian C.

Yelp
Awesome, challenging course. Played it a couple of times when in town. I am an O.K. player and it is a lot of fun and pretty tough at times.

Duska S.

Yelp
As a business owner, I provide services for Hawk's View and have been extremely impressed with the staff and service. They are pleasant, anticipate their clients' needs and promptly respond to phone calls and emails. It is a pleasure working with Becky and I highly recommend this venue to anyone looking to celebrate a wedding or any other special event.

Jorie O.

Yelp
I had my wedding at Hawk's View (I was the bride). GOOD POINTS: The outside area for ceremony and cocktail hour is gorgeous. The gardens and scenery made beautiful wedding pictures. The reception hall is very nice as well, with vaulted oak celings and twinkle lights. We had cocktail hour outside in the covered pavillion area, which was lovely and relaxing. The receiving line went through the garden, which was also very nice. Pricing was fairly reasonable. BAD POINTS: Their "Wedding Coordinator" (Becky) is USELESS. She would never return my calls, and was snotty to me several times when I asked her simple questions. On the day of the ceremony, she was nowhere to be found most of the time. When things went wrong, people were coming to ME to try and fix them because no one could find the coordinator, and this added A LOT of stress to the day. The Wedding Coordinator was the worst part of my experience at Hawk's View. She ended up leaving around 10:00pm, and a man took over (I can't remember his name)--but he was MUCH more helpful than Becky ever was. We had been told by Becky that we had to remove and pack up the chair covers that night, or we would be charged an extra $150 by Hawk's View. When we started taking the chair covers off around midnight, the coordinator's replacement told us that he would take care of it and would not charge us. He was very helpful. Also, the food is mediocre. The "twice-baked mashed potato" was INEDIBLE--hard as a rock. We ordered the prime rib and a stuffed chicken, which were pretty good, but not excellent. We served wine with dinner, and the servers were slow to refill glasses. I had to find a server myself and ask for a glass of wine.

Donna M.

Yelp
This is my new favorite golf course. We played at a discounted rate and loved it. The views are spectacular, the staff is professional and the course was in great condition. We also played the par 3 Barnhollow with our daughter and it was the nicest par 3 I have ever played. Great price for the par 3. We will definitely keep going back.

Tim S.

Yelp
I've played this course three times over the past 12 months. It is attractive , quiet and well maintained. Not terribly long (so playable for all skill levels) and the Food and staff have been good.
