23 Dublin Restaurants to Visit in 2026 | Condé Nast Traveler

"It makes infinite sense that Hawksmoor, a choosey source of the highest quality beef, would settle on Ireland for one of its outposts. Thirty-five day, dry-aged beef aside, the setting is reason enough for a booking where you can dine beneath the soaring 40-foot-wide dome of the former banking hall of the 19th-century National Bank on College Green. The magnificently restored city landmark sets the tone, while the menu is infused with just enough Irishness to give it a proper sense of place. Start with some Flaggy Shore oysters from County Clare and move on to the extensive steak menu, which runs the gamut of cuts sourced from small producers the length and breadth of Ireland including rare breed meat from The Burren. Then, round it off with an Irish coffee tiramisu. The $32 Sunday roast lunch is particularly keen value." - Aoife O'Riordain

The 38 Essential Dublin Restaurants

"Hawksmoor may be a London institution and rated as one of the world’s best steakhouses, but the newly opened Dublin outpost in the city center is solidly Irish on the plate. Options for larger cuts of beef from the country’s top producers are chalked on a board daily, perfect for sharing after you’ve worked your way through some Flaggy Shore oysters, bone marrow with onions, and local lobster. Dublin’s finest dining room, in a meticulously restored landmark building designed by William Barnes in the mid-1840s with a soaring 40-foot dome, adds to the drama. Sunday lunch is a steal, and the corkage is only 5 euros (about $5.50) on Mondays." - Corinna Hardgrave

To begin , the exterior is classy, in keeping with the surroundings..the interior is magnificently opulent, with a cool bar leading to the dining.. What can we say, the service was superb from the minute we stepped in we felt like the staff were genuinely interested in us, which makes a huge difference. The food was incredible, every single mouthful was a cacophony of deliciousness! We opted for the fillet steak, what a great choice if we do say so! Quite expensive for us, but the price becomes irrelevant when it's so special in every sense. Hugely recommended! Special mention to tiaron for excellent service, cheers 🍻! David n Dawn x

The exterior of the building spoke of understatement and invited us in to look. We soon found our way past the gorgeous bar into the dining area and were shown to our table. We looked at the menu and it contained so much treasure we made our choices quickly not to waste time. We started with grilled oysters - so enjoyable with a texture of breadcrumb and that slightly slippery lightness of the oyster- a real taste of the sea! Our next course was lobster 🦞 and a rump steak, what can I say? The whole meal and service was a real joy, the building interior is very calming a d conversations very easy. If you have time please go to enjoy it all.

Went there for thier all day menu option. For starter I had the potted beef and bacon; it was nice, however the potted beef was cold so it was a bit awkward to scoop but it was still great! The gravy was lovely. For the main I had the big Matt burger which was a regret since the bun was not sturdy and reminds me of the kind you would get at fast food places. At some point I closed my eyes and it legit felt like I was at a Burger King. Good burger but it’s a shame that it felt so much like the fast food kind; my mum had the charcoal chicken ana mari, now that was tasty it was tender and cooked very well. For dessert I went for the upside down apple and almond cake; that was lovely, the sour cream ice cream was very interesting and I wish I had more as the flavour can be strong. My dad got the sticky toffee sundae; now that is well worth, very yummy the balance between ice cream and chocolate was excellent. The atmosphere is beautiful, in a restored building with amazing interior. Most of the tables had a small lighting so it felt very intimate and the gigantic domed window above gives a nice hue but not too overpowering that your being belted by daylight. I also must say their menus are fabulously decorated with illustrations of the local area of pre modern Dublin; if you didn’t know you can grab a postcard sized illustration of it from the front so it creates a lovely memento.

Housed in the beautifully restored former Bank of Ireland building, the place showed full house on a Monday night. Service felt a bit stretched, but steaks were excellent and came cooked to point. I skipped wine for my first Guiness of the trip, and the atmosphere did the rest to make it a very pleasant evening.

Oh My God, the restaurant is so beautiful, the service was so good, the waiter was attentive and gave us exactly what we wanted. From the welcoming to the sitting to service and the food was top notch. The food tasted so nice and with the adequate ingredients. I really enjoyed myself. I will give it 100 stars and I am definitely coming again. The manager and other staff came to celebrate me cos yesterday was my graduation. Thank you Hawksmoor.

The food wasnt as good as i expected. I shared the bone in rib eye. The steak was quite fatty and not super flavourful. It was good but not good enough to justify €135. The chips were very good and so were the sauces. The lobster was good as well. The cocktails were just alright and very expensive for the size. The staff are very attentive especially if you have allergies and the atmosphere is really nice. My favourite part of the meal was the dessert. The sticky toffee pudding and peanut butter louis were good enough to make me want yo come back. Both were incredible.

Updated review: date attending the restaurant 03/01/2026 The venue is very classy, warm and welcoming. All the staff are wonderful and tentive. Always willing to help. A few small things to watch out: - when we booked on line, we got the option to select the 25e deal (stake and a side). It did not say what stake or side but i am sure if you were to look dipper, I am sure we would have found the details. But when we got to the restaurant, we were given a set menu that did not have stake on it and the full menu but nothing about the 25e deal. Nor was it mentioned by the waiters. When we asked, we were able to get it. - the 25e deal is the rump and chips. Mine, was nice but my partners, there was about 15% of it fat. She could not eat it. I had to swap mine with hers. The cocktails are very nice and the location is great. This was my 3rd time here. The first 2, it was fantastic. This time, a little disappointed. But I an experienced never the less. Old review: The staff were very attentive. Knew what they were talking about and looked like they liked their job. The food was spectacular. I have been around but I must say, this was by far the best stake I have ever had. The sides were very nice. Pricey but worth every penny.

Utterly fabulous! I highly recommend getting something like the prime rib and sharing it. They’ll tell you the size in grams but it was plenty for two of us to share. Then we shared a couple of sides. The chips were some of the best I’ve ever had! So was the Mac and cheese! The staff were top notch and the building is beautiful. Be sure to make a reservation. This was honestly one of the best meals we’ve ever had, period.
