Excellent service EVERY time. I also love that it isn't super pretentious. I can walk in any day off the street wearing a ballcap and jeans, and easily get a bar seat for dinner. The food is also spectacular. I highly recommend this place!

This restaurant is absolutely beautiful. We didn’t make a reservation; however they were accommodating since the restaurant wasn’t full. We did go on a Tuesday night. They also have complimentary valet. I came with a friend for dinner as we saw this restaurant on the list for Restaurant Week. I will caution you that we were informed for us to utilize the restaurant week menu, everyone at the table had to order from the limited restaurant week menu, which we understood. We opted to explore the full menu. I had the roasted chicken with spicy chili broccolini. My friend ordered some fried zucchini as well. The chicken was okay - but seemed to lack flavor, which was disappointing. The broccolini was delicious and well seasoned. The service was great. We were the last two people in the restaurant and didn’t feel rushed. I may try this place again and order something else.

Hawthorne recently opened again after closing during the covid pandemic. Although the place was not too crowded around 6pm it was about 3/4 full by 7:30pm. The music was nice and the service was prompt. We ordered some appetizers and cocktails at first. For cocktails we got a lemon drop martini, lychee martini, skinny blood orange margarita, and the basil fig + honeysuckle smash. They were all awesome. I would come back just to sit at the bar and get some sushi/drinks with my girlfriends. For appetizers we got the crab beignets, meatballs, and beef egg rolls. Meatballs and egg rolls were hands down amazing. Would come back just to have them. Crab beignets didn't live up to the hype. Entrees: Tiger roll, sunshine roll, and baked brie were amazing. Wouldn't order the poke bowl again, not much flavor and not worth the money. Overall liked the restaurant! Would recommend for good food semi fancy restaurant for small parties.

Food was flavorful and very good. Service was great at the beginning, but started to slack quite a bit once our food order was taken. I ordered the Wagyu Burger; I asked that it be cooked medium, I got it at medium-rare (closer to the rare side). The burger was delicious, just not cooked to my preferred doneness. The truffle fries were delicious, the truffle was just right and not too strong. I also highly recommend the Hawthorn Sushi Roll. Overall, it was a great experience.

After dinner we decided to get dessert at Hawthorn. Ordered Carajillo, yuzu tart and chocolate lava cake. Food was really good, especially the tart. Yuzu tart had right amount of citrus flavor and good amount of berries. Tart itself was light and crispy. Lava cake was also good. Service was really good. This could be a future dinner place. Will definitely try dinner here.

I Loved the restaurant. The drinks, food, servers, manager, and indoor design were perfect. I usually do not eat out, but since I moved to Dallas from DC last week and my new work starts the following Monday, I decided to give myself a treat. I tried this place due to the DFW restaurant week, with a $49 3-courses meal. 1. Baby octopus: as an appetizer; I Loved it; the white soup was very similar to the Thai coconut soup. The sourness of the soup will bring up your appetite; sweet sticky rice will make your system prepare for the main, and the extra tender octopus will make your brain wake up. (the octopus was so soft, thought it melted :) ) 2. Prime 6 oz filet; main course; it came with two sauces, ketchup, brandy peppercorn demi(house barbecue sauce), and a side of parmesan truffle fries. I thought the outside crusts of the filet were a little too salty for me. However, as I rigged in, I realized that the seasoning was perfectly balanced when blended with fries and my pineapple cider (must try). The steak was so juicy and tender; the fries were crisp with a hint of parmesan, truffle, and butter. 3. Creme Brulee; desserts; Since most of the steakhouses I visited only had too sweet and too heavy kinds of desserts, I was not expecting too much. However, the restaurant served the perfect Creme Brulee: crisp coated sugar layer with a torch flame, ginger snap, Berry compote, and port reduction. The overall balance was terrific! Not too sweet and heavy, but just the right amount I wanted. 4. Pineapple cider; drink; since I have not drunk alcohol for about seven years, I did not want to take any junky drink. Since my main was a little oily due to the fries, I wanted some carbonated drink with a hint of fruity flavor to wash them out. This is the perfect drink with my menu selection. If I have another chance to visit this place, I would love to try the Guava Cider too. Glad I was able to find this place. I wish to try a different menu from Hawthorn as I settle in Dallas. Thanks, Hawthorn, for giving me positive energies and vibes to start my settlements in Dallas!!!! The total was $80 something with tips (I spent more than I planned), but the experience was way worth more than what I paid.

I’ll start off with the positive of our experience at Hawthorn. 1. Beautiful restaurant THAT’S IT!! The lack of service was UNACCEPTABLE!!! You can NOT call yourself a high end restaurant and have this kind of service!! Our party of 10 was completely BAFFLED! TRUST the other reviews(I wish we did)! It was embarrassing!!! In the 1hr and 15min we were there. EVERYONE at the bar with tables complained and left(that should have been our sign)! We waited that long for waters! And our 1st cocktail! CiCi our bartender for the entire restaurant was also our waitress. I felt so bad for her! She got Absolutely no help from management. CICI if you’re reading this, IT WAS NOT YOUR FAULT! Both male & female “managers” were mainly props in the restaurant! I had to let 2 parties know of our experience and they left(as me and our party should have too). The management at this place is a joke. The owner of this place SHOULD be here witnessing what’s happening here EVERY DAY!! We will not nor ever come back to Hawthorns.

IF I COULD GIVE IT ZERO STARS I WOULD. This place seems spectacular now we had a reservation we are in town and wanted to eat here. As we go they offer us the seating that THEY WANT US TO HAVE. We are a group of 7 people and they NEGATED to provide an option to have a booth available. LET ME TELL YOU that the restaurant is EMPTY. But they have other reservations. Which I understand but why not try and be accommodating at all. WAY TO GO and LOOSE on providing service and a top experience as you “seem” to have. Outside of the restaurant not ONE manager came out to apologize or try to make this work.
