Hayley Cakes and Cookies

First off Hayley is the sweetest ever!! The birthday cake she made my daughter was INCREDIBLE! I mean her face says it ALL!! I told her “my daughter loves all things pink, purple, sparkly, glitter, rainbows, flowers, princesses, unicorns, mermaids do whatever you like” and this is what she came up with. I mean seriously!! So amazing!! Plus it’s the most DELICIOUS cookie cake you will ever eat. The cookie cake is so soft and delicious it’s almost better than eating cookie dough and the frosting!!! Oh my gosh I could eat a full tub of it! 10/10 LOVE Hayley Cakes and will never enjoy a store bought cookie cake ever again. 😆

It’s my birthday week. The other night I was watching “Is It Cake?” and I decided I really wanted some cake. I looked up the closest bakery to me, staying in River Place right now, and Hayley’s Cakes & Cookies popped up. It was close to closing time for them, and there wasn’t a large selection of cupcakes left, but I went with a Pumpkin cupcake and a Vanilla cupcake. I was excited about the Pumpkin, and thought that if it was bad, I could chase it down with the Vanilla one thinking Vanilla is always good. The Pumpkin Cupcake was amazing!! I had high hopes for the Vanilla, but was extremely let down by it. With that being said, the Vanilla one did have a tiny cookie on top that was fantastic and that was it’s saving grace. Maybe it was just not great from sitting out all day. I don’t know. Anyway,I’ve gone back and gotten the pumpkin one several times since.

I live in Houston, but I celebrated my birthday in Austin. I had ordered the cake online and it exceeded my expectations. I’m not really a cake person but when I tell you the moment we slice the cake the entire thing was gone. It was so good and it was so moist and I thank you for the service and Care of this establishment.

My sister recommended this bakery to me to purchase the cake for my nephew’s birthday. I paid an extra $20 for my order to be delivered by 1pm on the day of the party because my flight was delayed, but the delivery never came. No one at the bakery answered the phone or responded to my emails when I tried to check the status. I ended up having to pick up the cake the NEXT DAY, only to be told that I should have contacted the delivery company myself even though I scheduled and paid for delivery directly through their website. To make things worse, my cake was made incorrectly. The complete lack of customer service, accountability, and communication is unacceptable. If no one at the bakery is going to answer phones or emails, then why even offer delivery through your site? We had NO CAKE for my nephew’s birthday party - I’ll forever be known as the Tía who “forgot the cake”. Photos are from our football watch party the day after his birthday

I bought a large order (130 cookies) from this store for a wedding and they were so great! The designs are accurate to what’s shown on the website and the cookies were fresh and delicious - they got rave reviews. There is a slight almond extract taste which is really nice. The website is somewhat clunky for ordering large amounts but the pickup was seamless and we didn’t have any issues with the order. Highly recommend!

I ordered a cake from this location for my husband's 60th birthday and the quality of the cake I received was so bad it wasn't edible. It's very disappointing when you put your trust in a bakery to produce a cake for a special milestone occasion and they fail miserably. I have been a customer of Haley Cakes since 2017 and was extremely let down when their error was not fairly made whole. Needless to say I will not be a returning customer.

My friends and I ordered custom cookies for each other’s 30th birthdays. The designs were whimsical and cute. In terms of taste, they were similar to standard sugar cookies you can buy at the store. I had to take a star off because the batch ordered for the last friend in our group looked rushed and didn’t meet the quality we expected. We’ve noticed the quality control can be inconsistent and depends on who fulfills the order.

Cupcakes were not decorated professionally. In the images you will see what they were supposed to look like versus the actual cupcakes. I have bought from Hayley before and cakes were beautiful but this is subpar, especially for the price.

We love Hayley's cookies. In my opinion you won't find better tasting decorated cookies than hers. They're like a sugar cookie shortbread hybrid. They're SO GOOD. I enjoy the regular drop cookies too. I've ordered many birthday cakes- which I find the cake to be too dense and not good, where I prefer a softer fluffier cake, however I still buy knowing this because the designs are so cute and often affordable, but they do end up being a centerpiece rather than completely getting eaten. I find the icing to be a little too sweet for my taste, but again, that's just my personal opinion and I know many people enjoy it. The cinnamon rolls are fabulous. We like the kolaches when they're available. We did have an instance where my fiancé tried to order me a birthday cake and they quoted him $200 and I thought that was a bit high because I regularly order cakes from here and while I know inflation is happening right now, there's no way it could have jumped that much, so I submitted the same cake inquiry and I was quoted $90. I found it to be funny; it's kind of like when I go to the mechanic for an oil change and then they start trying to uncharge me on things I don't need because they think I don't know better, well it seems like that's what they were doing to him lol I also wonder if they can see by my email and phone number how much I've ordered and that he never had, but who knows. I'm still a repeat customer and I take out of town friends and family here whenever they visit because these cookies ARE famous.

Procrastinated and needed some custom cookies made for a customer as a Christmas gift. My go-to cookie lady was booked up for the rest of the year so I went on a hunt to find someone to do last minute custom sugar cookies with my customers logos. First star is for their ability to take last minute orders and 2nd star is for quick turnaround on estimate and ease of ordering online. Overall, quality of the cookie isn't great. I guess I'm not a big sugar cookie kinda gal to begin with. The ones I got from here are thick and dry, really wasn't a fan. I was expecting some kind of custom hand frosted cookie, but the cookie ended up being a "print" onto frosting. I guess I should have asked to be sure, but with the time I had I just ordered them. I ordered two dozens and it came out to $132. Pretty hefty, but I wouldn't mind paying if they were good tasting quality cookies. Most likely will not return.

I love this place because you can just run in and get something amazing without planning ahead. Whether it's a cake or a quick snack to curb a sweet tooth craving. They have cookies, cupcakes, speciality sugar cookies, bars, kolaches, croissants, gluten free items, and they do custom orders. Highly recommend the oatmeal raisin and the oatmeal pecan chocolate chip. They have the perfect texture and they're not too sweet. There are nice clean restrooms, and a lot of merchandise to browse or purchase for gifts. It's very girly and whimsical inside.

The kolaches and the cinnamon rolls here are amazing!!! But, ive been here 3 times and havent received great service.

So, this place is nearby to where I live and I was craving cupcakes. Went in and the staff was friendly and had a wide selection. I've ordered cookies, cake slices, cakes and cupcakes from this and their other location.

We needed cookies for our team and when someone called about my order they were very rude in tone and did not help in providing creative alternatives. Went with another local bakery.

If you need a quick gift or sugar rush, run to Hayley Cakes! Their cookies are sooooo cute and so delicious!!

Stopped in here because the women in our group follow this place on Instagram. Seems to be the designs of the cookies are famous. I will say the designs are very impressive. The taste is just okay though. I sampled a texas flag sugar cookie, and it was decent. The order pictured is what I ordered for $4. Not a bad price since the cookie was thick, but I wasn't even able to finish it. Very sweet, but an issue was these balls mixed in with the sprinkles were rock hard. They nearly cracked my tooth when I bit into one. I cleared the other 7-8 off the slice and was able to eat about 3/4 of it before I called it a day. The women in the group all seemed to love it and all ordered the creatively designed sugar cookies, and I think it's best to stick with that for an order. This place showcases its design (which is impressive) over its taste, so it's just not for me.

The cookies were cute and the guest said they tasted good. But I won't be using this business again because of 2 snarky emails from Chelsa and then a meh response from the male manager. There was no outreach after my initial order was placed, even though I had included a question in my order note. And when I reached out to the business to get an answer, it was clear I was bothering them from the tone in their email. If you acknowledge intent may come across wrong in an email, why not avoid it by going above and beyond in cheerfulness and kindness in your emails to customers? And then if a customer feels it's important enough to follow-up in person, why would you use interpretation as an excuse? I work in customer service and so I understand that a person can feel bothered by customer's questions and requests sometimes. But it is part of the job to be nice. Or at least fake it. It's not hard.

I absolutely love Hayley Cakes and Cookies, I buy them directly from the bakery, or other locations they are sold. I've used them for bday parties, teacher gifts, just because gifts, etc. HOWEVER, it seems I have been blocked from their IG account because I reported how badly my kids and I were treated there once while visiting. I am extremely disappointed because I continue to support them and shop from them, and tell everyone I can about them. I am just sad that it came to where I wasn't even all that mad about how we were treated, just confused and disappointed, I never used threating, obscene or even mean language. Anyway, I will always support local businesses, especially one owned by a woman

These is my go to place for my cookie fix or when out of town guest come to visit. I always like to give a cookie that is Texas, or Austin themed. Always happy to treat myself and share what Austin Texas is about with my company

Ordered my daughters cake online it was quick and easy . She ordered a cat cake and we kept all the standard colors and chose a strawberry flavor which was DELICIOUS. This is my new go to cake place for events .

Cookies and desserts are always great. This morning I tried using Apple Pay and had a confusion with the system so I asked for help. My total was $19.50 and suddenly got charge 22.50. She took it on her own to add a tip which I did not approve.

Why is no one mentioning their iced cinnamon rolls! OMG they are so good! I only like homemade with yeast cinnamon rolls and these are outstanding!!! Wishing I had taken a photo before I ate it, but I didn't know how good it was going to be! If you eat breakfast at Snooze on South Lamar then go to Haley Cakes and Cookies Next door. You won't be disappointed!

Good neighborhood bakery. Sweet rolls are very good. Too many sugar cookies. Cakes are just ok. Decorating is not very good. Convenient location. Service is good. Ambiance is sterile.

This place makes the cutest custom cookies and cakes!! I asked for gamer cookies for my sons game themed birthday party and they nailed it! The cookies were so good and everyone wanted one. I called a few times before placing my order and it was a bit of a rocky start but we came to an agreement pretty quick. There was a misunderstanding about the cake. I thought I was getting a cake that was chocolate chip flavored. Turns out the cake was a big chocolate chip cookie with frosting on it. I would definitely go to this place for cookies! You will not be disappointed. Their prices are average compared to other bakers in the area.

Well the cookies here are to die for. They are always so cute and the decorations are hilarious but most of all they are delicious. The cookies are always moist for being how thick they are. It's not too sweet either. The variety of cookies to select from are amazing. I love the minis because it makes you feel less guilty. Depending on the time of day you go you might be able to grab their other treats like cupcakes, brownies, etc. but later in the day most of those items are sold out. There is always cookies though. The staff is always friendly and patient while you make your selection of which design you want. There is plenty of parking in front and easy to get in and out of. Love this location and glad they decided to keep it when they opened the south location as well.

Fan-freaking-tastic! We were feeling something sweet and happen to drive past Hayley's on our way home and made a quick turn. I'd never heard of the place before but the reviews looked great. All I can say is, wow. You walk in and instantly awed by everything displayed. It all looked amazing. Most difficult decision of the day was trying to pick one item to order. We ended up with the cookie dough and strawberry cupcakes. Both were indulgent as can be and drop dead amazing. I need to get back and try some of those cookies (or just more cupcakes)!

Did cookies for a baby shower. Easy to order and the cookies were excellent. Prices reasonable.

We've stopped by the actual storefront several times and love picking out treats, we ordered these mini Whataburger themed decorated sugar cookies for my daughter's 13th birthday & they were a hit! Highly recommend bite size cookies!

Stopped here to get some treats for a bachelorette, and I was not disappointed!! The girl working the counter was so sweet and nice. She really went out of her way to help me pick out treats that matched our bachelorette theme. I was also blown away by the cookie decorations! They were gorgeous and the attention to detail was incredible. I wish I lived in Austin so I could come here all the time!!! Really impressed by the positive attitude and great customer service!

I'm going to give 5 stars because I love everything about them except one thing, and I want to mention that one thing so others will know but I'm not knocking stars for it because it's a personal preference. They have the CUTEST cookies and have made me gorgeous cakes! I love their website and their easy ordering and their cute store and super fun Instagram account. It's really such a cute awesome business, and I wish them only continued success. The one thing I do not like is that everything I've had is almond flavored. I'm assuming they use almond extract . I fully dislike almond extract so while I love how their things look and they have great texture and taste (for my family), I do not like eating their items because of the almond flavoring. If there was a way for the client to choose almond OR vanilla flavoring, I would buy a million more things. But for now I order cookies on special occasions for me to look at and others to eat!

Their fancy, pretty, cute, naughty cookies are their claim to fame and they're very good, excellent, actually. Just about any cookie you could think of/want is available. And they are yummy. I wanted cupcakes, so I stopped in on my way to work. I got lemon, red velvet, gingerbread & rainbow (not sure if that's the actual name. I can't post pics bc unfortunately, they didn't stay level in my car, so the frosting is smooshed, but it didn't affect the taste. I haven't tried them all yet, but the red velvet is exceptional. Why? Because it is a true red velvet (as good as my homemade red velvet cake and that is saying a lot) with subtle cocoa flavor and rich moist cake. Not fake like most others I've tried. Delicious! If you want fun cookies, this is the place! Yum...yum! :)

Hayley Cakes and Cookies was recommended to me by a fellow parent at The University of Texas. I ordered a cookie cake for my son's graduation this past weekend from UT. We were planning a luncheon to celebrate my son's accomplishment and a cookie cake was the perfect dessert, as he loves cookie cakes! I ordered my cake well in advance of the day needed and asked for it to be ready by 11am on the Saturday of our luncheon. I was very surprised when Megan called me the Thursday morning before to tell me my cake was ready for pick up. I questioned then whether or not the cake would still be fresh on Saturday, and she assured me that it would be. My husband drove to the bakery Saturday morning and picked up the cake for our luncheon. The cake looked great and was decorated exactly as I had requested. Once at the restaurant, the waiters even commented on how pretty it was and wanted to know where it came from. I used a butcher knife to cut the cake. It still took quite a bit of "elbow grease" to cut, and the center crumbled apart as I cut it. The cake was EXTREMELY dry. The edges of the cake were so tough, they could not be eaten. Even the parts that were somewhat softer, were still very, very dry. Unfortunately, much of the cake went untouched. I called Hayley's the following Monday to let them know about my disappointment. They offered me a 25% discount on my next order. I explained that I have no need to order in the future, as my son has graduated and I do not live in the Austin area. I was then told that it was not unusual for their cakes and cookies to be prepared up to 48 hours ahead of time, especially due to the high volume of items they were preparing for graduation weekend.

One of the best bakeries I've been to in a while. Ive had cookies, cupcakes, and a cinnamon roll and they have all been amazing. The one circled is smores and was an unexpected favorite!

I've been a longtime customer of HayleyCakes because their cookies look and taste great, and their cakes are usually really well done. However, this weekend I picked up a custom order where the writing on the cookie cake was completely wrong, and this is the *second time* this has happened to me. The first time, they misspelled the name for the person whose birthday it was. This also happened to a close friend of mine who ordered a cake for her husband, and they misspelled her husband's name. This time, they just completely overlooked the custom text request and wrote "Happy Halloween" when it was supposed to be a birthday cookie cake that said "Happy BOO-Day, Hallow-Queen!" (lol, I know). When I flagged that the writing was wrong on Saturday, the gal who was working in the store was apologetic and very sweet, she said she would make a note of the issue so that someone would call me on Monday to speak to me about it. No one called me on Monday. I called toward the end of the day and didn't get an answer, so I left a message. Someone called me back Tuesday morning, and I wound up speaking with Mason and explained the issue, and I mentioned this was the second time this has happened. Mason said Hayley decorated the cookie cake herself and joked that he was going to chew her out for messing it up - I honestly don't know if he was just kidding, but he got a good laugh out of it. He wasn't very apologetic about the mistake, and he didn't ask if there was anything the bakery could do to make it right or make it up to me. I asked if I could have a refund, because I placed a custom order and the cake I got was basically not what I ordered. He agreed to give me a refund, which I'm glad about, but overall the customer service experience was just not great. I think all he had to say was something like "I'm so sorry about that, I totally get that that must've been disappointing, I'm sorry our team made a mistake! What can we do to help make this right? Could we offer you a refund or a gift certificate?" Instead, he was nonchalant, made some jokes, and asked "Other than the writing, how was the cake?" It's unfortunate that this is the second time a mistake like this has happened to me -- when the personalized writing is messed up on a custom order, it almost doesn't matter how good the cake is; a misspelled name or a Halloween message instead of a birthday message kind of kills the effect of the gesture. I really like this bakery and I've recommended it to a lot of local friends and visitors from out of town, and I'll probably still drop in and get cookies from time to time, I just don't know if I will trust them with any custom orders in the future because this isn't a good track record and I wish they would've handled it better.

I've always wanted an excuse to order someone these super special custom cookies and for my new home owner Britney loving friend this is THE MOMENT. The cookies arrived Atlanta perfect and so hilarious love love that they ship!!!

I really loved their paleo chocolate chip cookie! I think they said it was almond flour based, loaded with sugar free(?) small chocolate chips. I also loved the texture - tender-chewy, if that makes sense. And not as sweet as a regular ccc, but just sweet enough. Not sure what the main fats were. I guess I'm just going to have to go back - for more research, of course! (Oh, great cupcakes and nice people, too.)

My family and I LOVE Hayley cakes & cookies! We have been here so many times and every time we left happy while full of cookies. The detail they put in to each cookie is amazing. We have even ordered cookies for my daughters school class. Absolutely love their stuff

Cakes are cute and tasty! The bakery is super cute with cute things to buy as well. Just always make sure you review your special orders with them or you'll get strawberry. Which is good but definitely not vanilla!

The aesthetic was lovely. The cookies were cute. I honestly dislike sugar cookies so I just buy them because I like the sayings. I bought my husband a carrot cake cupcake he said it was moist and tasteful.

To answer a Yelper's concern, cupcakes are all $3 (same price for with/without cookie on top). Cookies are $4 each unless stated otherwise. I live in the area and have been hunting for high quality cupcakes to bring to parties and gatherings. Hailey's didn't disappoint. Service was great, cookies and cupcakes are adorable, and my friends gave mostly positive feedbacks. As our desserts are normally light and fluffy with less sugar in Taiwan, the cupcakes were just a tad too sweet for my liking but that won't stop me from coming back.

Have stopped in here a few times and enjoy the selection of decorated sugar cookies, treats and cupcakes. Cupcakes- I'm a German Chocolate cake guy and was finally able to get my hands on one. Was not disappointed. What I love about Hayleys is that the cake tastes moist but provides texture to each bite. The frosting and toppings are never over the top or overly sugary which makes it even more enjoyable. Texture with a balanced level of taste. Staff is always very nice and is patient as you work through your options. Allison was a very sweet.

Great experience. Needed some custom cookies for a team event that we were having. Most places around were booked 1+ month out, which wouldn't work given that we had less than a week to prepare. The team at Hayley Cakes was able to work with me to get the cookies done just in time...and most importantly the custom-made cookies were a hit at the event. Will definitely use them again.

This is the second occasion that I have ordered custom cookies from Haley's Cookies. The first was for a rehearsal dinner and the second was for guests at our Christmas Shrimp Creole party. Custom shrimp Santa cookies were created for our guests. We attached ornaments with their last initial from Pottery Barn. Not only are the cookies tasty, they were very cute. Rarely when you call Haley's cookies will you speak to a live person, 99% of the time I had to leave a message, but recd a PC back the next day. My conversations with Nancy at their South location at first was less than stellar, not as professional as I would have expected. However, the follow-up PC was very professional. I would definitely recommend Haley's Cookies, most especially for a special occasion. The minimum order that we were quoted was no less than one dozen, ours was $6 for ea cookie.

This is a cute spot that I didn't even know existed. I have a job outside of the bakery and decided to try it out. Plenty of shared parking. The guy behind the counter was super nice and made a great recommendation. I live coffee and it's hot outside so he made me an iced caramel latte. So good. I also got a iced bun on sale for $2. I will eat the bum for dessert. I took a piece and it taste good, so I'm happy. Cute decor, you should come check it out.

The only reason I am giving 3 stars is because they messed up with my order. It was a birthday cake with two cookie toppers. One was a wine bottle that said "Aged 28 years to perfection" first mistake they wrote 26 instead of 28 (I could have passed that one) But the cookie was broken!!! I literally freaked out in the moment. It was a pick up for a Sunday (noon) my birthday party started @500 they made one of their decorators get there to fix the cookie. I really appreciated that. Now the reason of my 3 stars is only because if something like that happens I would like some kind of discount for the future or even better than that, offer to deliver the cake at my place. The only reason for that is because I had to make 2 trips to the store, and I had a ton on my plate that day. Other than that, the cake was delicious! For that I would give 5 stars but for the experience I can only give 3. Plus the costumer service I received on the first time I got there, to place the order initially was not the best, the lady on the counter was kind of rude.

Amazing cookies & experience! I ordered from their website for shipping to NYC for Valentine's Day. Order came right on time and all of the cookies were perfectly intact and so cute. Loved the almond flavor and how soft they were. Would definitely order again!

My 1yr old's birthday cake looked great but the texture and taste was disappointing. When we started cutting into the chocolate cake with fresh strawberry filling and cream cheese icing, it imploded ! The whole thing crumbled into a big pile. I had to scoop it up with a spoon and serve it to ppl. It didn't even taste good. It was embarrassing. I voiced my disappointment with the store but they have gotten to big to care. We bought an HEB cake the next day and it tasted so much better than this cake. I won't be buying cakes or cookies from here anymore. When we called the store to provide feedback, the disinterested rep told us to email the store and the response felt like an auto-reply email msg telling me that they are sorry and that they hope we give them a second chance. NO WAY

Love this shop! They have wonderful creative geniuses behind their vast cookie selections. Bought a couple dozen to give away for a Birthday party and they were LOVED by everyone! Staff was very kind and informative to meet my needs from their in stock cookies! Very pleased and will return many times!

This is the first time I've written a Yelp review for an out-of-state place! I just ate 2 cookies that came in the mail for my roommate, as a little gift from his company. He's out of town so finders keepers! They came in a little box with his company's logo on it and a little card inside with the cookies. The cookies were custom decorated and cute. They had cracked in half during shipping but to be expected of 1. any thick buttery cookie that's fresh and 2. when the delivery man throws the box over the gate even when it says fragile. It's cool though-it's cookies not wine glasses. I was kinda thinking they would be like a gingerbread house- like hard and really cute but not good to eat. They were delicious! Great enough to write an out of state review! Soft and buttery thick cookies with a thin layer of sweet, hard icing that had a great almond flavor. As yummy as they are cute and a very sweet gift!

The absolute cutest of places ever. A friend of mine *begged* (actually demanded) that I make a stop here on my visit and bring her back some cookies. She and I both follow the Instagram page and she said she'd never forgive me if I came back empty handed. I promised her I would if it was close to where I was staying, and I was true to my word-- and I was glad I did, because this place is so adorable. We stopped in and stood in a long line that only had us waiting for *maybe* 10 minutes. I got three decorated cookies and a coffee for I think $12-$14?? (I ate one and took the rest to my friend). The cookies were amazing! The skill of decoration is extraordinary. And the coffee was good too. 5 stars. 10/10 would go back next time I'm in Austin.

Four stars for cuteness and selection, middle of the road for taste on this first visit. Stopped in for a Chunky Monkey cupcake which is banana cake with peanut butter frosting, chocolate drizzle and a small cookie on top. I thought the cookie was delicious and surprisingly thick, but the frosting was blander than others I've had. The banana cake was dense and flavorful, but nothing special. I've tasted better at my home and my friends'. The frosting was pretty deliciously peanut butter-y, though I don't think it was buttercream (I could be wrong, but it wasn't my favorite type). The adorable selection in store was so expansive, I'll probably come back to try either a full cookie or a more traditional cupcake.

I went to a party and the cake looked amazing I asked where it was from and it was from Hayley's but the actual cake was terrible thick and dense I personally couldn't even eat it and the host ended up putting it in the trash.

I will definitely say presentation wise, the cake I ordered was amazing! I couldn't find another bakery that went into so much detail with such talent...however, the flavor did not live up to the hype I have heard about Hayley Cakes & Cookies. Maybe too much almond extract in their vanilla cakes and buttercream? I also wish I would have been advised on the tier selection - looked disproportionate for an almost $100 cake. Very disappointed.
