Here Are the Best Sports Bars in Ann Arbor

"The Haymaker Public House is geared toward college football fans with its ample televisions, pub food, and two-dozen beers on tap. The giant one-pound pretzel served with beer cheese and Fat Californian burger topped with spicy fried avocado and chipotle mayo can satisfy even the biggest of appetites." - John Reyes

Urbanrest Brewing Co. Is Planning to Make a Whole Lot More Beer by This Summer - Eater Detroit

"The University of Michigan goes up against Chicago’s Loyola University on Saturday night in the NCAA final four, and in anticipation, the Detroit News spoke to some go-to bars for watching the game. The lesson to take away? Be very organized and have a back-up plan if you’re planning on heading out to see it at a bar: Ann Arbor bar Haymaker reportedly had a waiting list to get seated for last weekend’s game as early as two hours before it started." - Tim Forster

Their upgraded menu (2024) is great! It is comparable to Main Street and at a great price point. We always get the huge pretzel. The Korean tacos are recommended as well as chicken and waffles. Good beer and cocktail selection too.

We went here for dinner Friday night and again for drinks Saturday afternoon. It has always been one of my favourite places and it did not disappoint. The menu is extensive and tasty with a great large pretzel, beef dip and hamburger my faves. The service is always first rate, Brie was our server and she was amazing. She was super attentive, friendly, helpful and made one of the best old fashioneds I have ever had. She even remembered us the next day and looked after us again. We will be back…many times

Definitely worth the visit... The food was well made, just lacked flavor for me. Maybe that's a personal issue, being a fan of super spicy food 🤔. Very cool look and feel. The staff was super friendly and helpful. I definitely would recommend this place. I didn't stay long and only got one meal and water due to money and time.

Google
We ordered Chicken & Waffles and Deep Fried French Toast. The food was good. The French Toast remained me of what we had in New Orleans. The restaurant seems pretty empty for the brunch hours. Not sure if it is because people usually come in the evening for sport games and drinks.

I arrived on a Sunday afternoon and the place was virtually empty other than a couple dining and bar patrons. I self-seated and waited only a few minutes for a server. My Arnold Palmer wasnt good (2nd time in two days) ITS JuSt ½ lemonade & ½ iced tea. But ive been getting 70/30 or 20/80 in Ann Arbor. Menu was pretty clean and simple to choose from. Prices are spicy tho...but thats everywhere. I had the Shroom & Swiss burger & ceasar salad. Salad was super cold and crisp and good! Burger was slight done juicy and oozing with mushrooms. Dessert was fresh baked cookies, so I had to try them all: oatmeal cherry, choco chip, & brownie. They didnt get to cool as much as i would have liked, so be sure to order as ur finishing your entree. I would definitly eat here again! Be sure to hit the thumbs up if u found this helpful

Google
Service was a bit slow in that every item took forever to get to our table, but otherwise, a nice pub to catch up with friends or family over sports or drinks. Colleague and I ordered the Grape-Mimosa and Bloody Mary with Nachos to start. The nachos got to our table almost 30 min after our drinks, which by then were almost over and not by definition an accompanimentat that point. After all that wait, you'd expect better, but they were just meh. Bit dry, not enough salsa or cheese for all the corn. The main course were well cooked, had the Diablo burger and the Michigan Spicy Turkey sandwich, both served with shoestring fries. The fries were great, served hot well cooked and not salted 😋 Ended up choosing the chocolate truffle cake with a side of vanilla icecream for dessert which were avoidable, but the icecream is served like it should, hard not melty and the cake was great but won't beat the OMG Chocolate cake of Sweetwaters Cafe. The menu, funnily is all online so you will have to use a smart phone, however, the ordering is not through the phone. So part automation only. Wish the service were faster but would recommend.

Google
Great bar food. One of the best random burgers I’ve ever come across! We did the pretzel for appetizer and it’s so good, not too heavy very fluffy. Fries are good and my Bacon Cheeseburger and my mom’s BBQ Bacon burger were both really good. We brought half the pretzel and 3 homemade cookies back for dessert!

Google
Food was great! This place is perfect to go watch the game or grab a bite. They had quite a few beers on tap and a decent variety. You have to order the pretzel, it's amazing! I had a reuban that was fire. Will definitely be back!

Yelp
I like the vibe here. Great beer selection. They said they could only cook my burger well done, so the patty was a bit like a hockey puck. But other than that, it was good. And the pretzel was amazing.

Vivian B.

Yelp
I avoid coming here as much as possible because the service is always so terrible. It's always slow and they almost always get our order wrong even when it's a simple one. It's a great location so I would go here a lot more if the service were better and if their menu had more meatless options.

Yelp
If you ever find yourself in ann arbor after an MSU victory over the last place wolverines basketball team and you are looking for a post game celebration, check out Haymakers. (Not named after Coach Juwan's post game handshake with coaches). This place has the BEST 1 lb Bar pretzel in the business and pours strong victory drinks and has attractive and pleasant ladies serving you up when you belly up to the bar! This place is great and has no issues serving up some victorious Spartan fans as we celebrate getting ready for another March Madness tournament soon! #keepjuwan #mediocre5 #boknew

Yelp
Quick review for a quick stop at Haymaker Public House recently. We had some time to spare between getting out of work and dinner plans, so Nate and I stopped here for a drink during happy hour, when most everything is 50% off. I don't see happy hour deals like that very often anymore, so that was great. I got a cider on draft that was pretty tasty - I did have to ask for some ice as it wasn't quite as cold as I would have liked. They have 20+ taps, a cocktail selection, and a yummy sounding food menu, but we didn't get anything to eat this time. The bartender helping us was friendly and kind. I think this might be a hopping spot in the evening. I'd come back again for happy hour and a snack!

Yelp
5 mins at bar, no acknowledgment, no I am not gonna wait It was game night, and there was a bunch of drunks at the bar I walked in. I expect to be recognized, and at least told that I will be with you in a minute. That did not happen.

Yelp
Really good bar style food that all came out really quick. Highly recommend getting the giant pretzel with the yummy beer cheese. I also got the half portion of the bbq brisket mac which was huge and also delicious. The prices are a little higher than other places but for the portions you get it makes sense. Their happy hour is also great with 50% off drinks & apps, and there's a bunch of games they have available to play as well.

Yelp
Worst chicken tenders not only in Ann Arbor, but I've ever had. Salads ain't that great and the service is what you expect from south U bar. Ambiance is that of a old rusty tavern in Fowlerville. Don't waste your money.

Yelp
Excellent service and reasonably priced spot in Ann Arbor. Great place to watch sports with lots of TVs. Good local beer selection and interesting food items as well. Board games and darts being available is really a positive as well.

Valerie A.

Yelp
This was a great find as my friends and I wondered around Ann Arbor. Only in Ann Arbor for the weekend and wanted to go to a couple places we don't have at home and this place fit the bill. We only had a couple appetizers but they were fabulous. The three of us split the small order of chicken bites and the stack of Diversifries. This is a combination of all their different types of fries and sauces for them. Plenty for us along with our beverages. Our waitress was very friendly and helped us decide on our choices for food and beverages. We would definitely return if in the area.

Yelp
Pregame meal before the game at the BIG HOUSE. We arrived to a full house. Half the bar was only for drinking only customers, the other half was for food and drinks. The wait for a table was about 20 minutes. There is no list so be sure you remember where you are in line. Once seated the staff were busy so if you require extra care look elsewhere to eat. The staff is nice and do care about you though. The food was good. Not great but not the worse. I would suggest to the owner to adjust your requested tip.... 25-35% is a bit steep for a request.

Yelp
We were in town for the Michigan ECU game. Great food, service was phenomenal for how busy they were after the game and staff was accommodating and friendly. They seem to know what they are doing during a busy game weekend. I got the blt with egg and it was delicious! Overall a bit pricy though but worth it if you want fast service and good food. Highly recommend

Yelp
These are the sad cookies I received. Burnt to a crisp. So disappointing! How could you even send these out?!? Oh and unfortunately the meal itself was not good for the price paid and sloppily put together. Tomatoes missing from sandwiches. Dressing missing from the Reuben. Not sure what's going on there tonight, but what a disappointment. More than likely won't try again.

Cheyenne M.

Yelp
The service can be spotty but it gets pretty crowded. The food has always been great. I was able to make a burger a single and it was delicious. The pretzel is also a great order. Always good to go for trivia too.

Yelp
Appreciate the veg option!! The beyond burger is yummy and the fries are great. From when I wasn't vegan, I can attest that the other burgers are very good, too. Lots of beer options. Great place to watch a game. I came for Baked Bingo this week, which was so fun!!
google avatar

Yelp
Burger was good. Pretzel was excellent. Giant hot and fresh. Fries were undercooked and a bit soggy. Food came warm delivered

Yelp
Good selection of craft beer, but I can't endorse the food. It's one of those places that is not really comfortable or memorable. I wouldn't go back. Regrettably, Casey's Tavern was closed after a fire, or we would have gone there instead.

Jim P.

Yelp
Not great (or even good) service. Took a while to get a waitress. Placed a simple order - apps & a couple of sandwiches. Decided to get a beer after a wait. Finally came (just a can). Flagged another waitress for a glass. Appetizer came with very tiny dips. 3 minutes later, the main course came. Asked if she could bring it back AFTER our appetizer (duh). Took a while to flag down the waitress again for a couple more cups of dip for the nachos. Found out I was charged 75 cents each for the little guys. Sandwiches were brought out. Sandwiches had been nuked so they were warm. Shoestring fries - room temp at best. No interaction with waitress (such as refilling water) until we were obviously done. Surprised that the tip suggestion started at %25 and there was a %3 fee for using a credit card. Struggled to justify a %10 tip. On the upside, lots of TVs if you're watching a game.

Yelp
Awesome food. Nice staff. Food came out pretty quick. Good drinks. Can't complain a bit.

Yelp
Starter - chicken tenders: 4.75/5 They were pretty gourmet and very tasty. Served very warm. We all cut them up and dipped in ranch and I was very content, but be warned that they didn't have much crunch. Main - salad: 4/5 Fresh vegetables were very tasty and I was first at the table to finish the meal. However, the chickpeas were terrible. Completely dehydrated and flavorless. I think this was an isolated incident in the kitchen because I honestly expect and have experienced better from this restaurant. Despite this, the salad was great Service - we came around 8:15 and the kitchen closed at 9. They made us VERY aware of this which was slightly uncomfortable and there also wasn't much check-in to ask if we wanted another round. Maybe they were in a rush to close but we were a bit shaken by this considering that the restaurant is open until midnight. Overall - a great AA restaurant and I'd come back any time I want beer and good food!

Yelp
Went here with our extended family for lunch. I called them around 12:25 and asked them if they would be able to take a group of ten around 12:45. She said they would open up the dining room just for us and have it all set up by the time we got there! She informed me that for groups larger than 8 they only allow one check with gratuity included. That wasn't a problem for us! As a former waitress I appreciate when the gratuity is included for larger groups. We arrived and the table was all set up with waters for everyone. The place was clean and very nice. Our waiter came over and right away to ask for our drink orders and to see if we wanted any appetizers. We ordered the gigantic pretzel, fried pickles, and brussel sprouts! All three of these were delicious!! I would order them all again. The brussel sprouts were perfect!! Our server gathered our orders efficiently and competently, even though my MIL has some special request due to allergies. He wasn't the most outgoing or friendly server we have encountered, but he was respectful and did a good job, even if he was rather stoic about it all. We are a lively bunch and like to have fun with our wait staff but this didn't seem to be his vibe! He still did a great job and got everything right with our orders. The main entrees were honestly nothing to write home about. They were well made, however they seemed to lack flavor. The burgers were just okay. The bacon ranch tater tots didn't have much flavor and the bacon was burnt. The food all sounded so good but lacked the pizazz we were expecting! For me, this is a place I would come to for drinks and appetizers, but I would probably leave it at that.

Yelp
Definitely my favorite spot in Ann Arbor for some bar food and drinks. The food came out very quickly and service was good! The one pound pretzel was great and the beer cheese that came with it was yummy and warm. I'm not much of a beer drinker and think they have a great selection of hard ciders as well!! Chicken tenders were large and crispy and the brussel sprouts with balsamic were pretty good as well. I look forward to coming back!

Yelp
Stopped in here for some lunch on my way out of the area just because it was next to the parking garage. Any expectations I could've had would've been FAR exceeded. My husband got the hot honey chicken sandwich which was probably one of the best chicken sandwiches either of us have ever had, hands-down. I got the patty melt and it was also great (also took half home with some fries and it all reheated in the air fryer really well). There's definitely an emphasis on drinks if that's your thing, but even as non-drinkers the vibes were great. Will definitely be returning!
google avatar

Debbie K.

Yelp
Outstanding meal in spotless restaurant with exceptional and fast service! We came before a concert at The Ark and had plenty of time to walk around bc service was so fast. The shoestring fries were fair but the burger was excellent, the pretzel and beer cheese phenomenal and there aren't enough positive adjectives for the chicken and waffle. Can't wait to go back!
google avatar

Pla C.

Yelp
Have to get the pretzel. It was amazing. Everything else we ordered was not good. The kids mac and cheese was gross. The chicken fingers.... Some were burnt. Patty melt, meh. Side salads etc. Says it's kid friendly on yelp but we went after the museum and they were so annoyed we had kids. I had to walk up to the bar twice to get the waitress attention to order & get our bill. I do dream about that pretzel tho!!
google avatar

Hanine C.

Yelp
Just okay. We got the grilled chicken Caesar wrap which was a bit bland. We were excited for the "shoestring fries", but they were just regular cut fries which was disappointing. We also got the boneless chicken wing appetizer, which again, was just alright. Don't feel compelled to return.

Yelp
Well, we still haven't actually eaten a meal inside here but Haymaker is still in our regular delivery rotation when I'm too pooped to cook. Their delivery is usually very quick (20-30 minutes) and everything arrives hot and delicious. For our last order, I went with the Ol Standby Burger as did my husband. We also ordered a half dozen of fresh baked chocolate chip cookies and an order of Mac and cheese to enjoy reheated later. It was my first time trying their burgers and I have to say, it was great! And the Mac and cheese reheats really well! The cookies are a little thicker and more dense than I typically like for my chocolate chip cookies but they were still very good. I think the chicken fingers are still my go to but the burger is a fantastic option if you're in the mood.
google avatar

Norman L.

Yelp
Didn't think this restaurant would be this good but it was. My friends and I sat at the bar and had chicken & waffles sooo so so good. Then we had barbecue cheese tater tots loved it. I don't know why but the food I eat is like a 12 year old boy.

Mary S.

Yelp
I have ordered cookies for delivery from this restaurant twice. The first time they were amazing. The second time they were so browned they were almost burnt and were inedible. I'm sure if they had tried to serve these in the restaurant they would have been sent back. I suspect they tried to get rid of bad cookies for delivery knowing it would be a huge hassle for me to get a refund. This is unacceptable service. They lost a customer.
google avatar

Tiffany H.

Yelp
Stopped by Haymaker for their 1lb pretzel - yes you heard that right! It also comes in a 1.5lb size but 1lb for two people was PLENTY. It comes with a cheese sauce & I'm usually not a fake cheese/velveeta/queso fan BUT this garlic cheese dip was AWESOME. I did ask for mustard, but they only have yellow mustard & not mustard for pretzels. To complement the carboload, we also ordered the wings (spicy buffalo) & have no complaints! Service was attentive, quick.

Nick L.

Yelp
Delicious menu that was unexpectedly deep, amazing wait staff, fantastic atmosphere. Everything was amazing!
google avatar

Martha R.

Yelp
Oooooo, their pretzel. It's so good! The drink options are great, location is right across from a public parking tower, and the staff was friendly. Our server made sure that we knew the best deals during happy hour, which we appreciated greatly. Prices are overall as expected for A2. I would most certainly go to this pub again.
google avatar

Monica M.

Yelp
I see great reviews on here and wonder what am I missing ? We went there for dinner and It was awful. The fish fry was greasy and shriveled up, fries were ok , waffles over done. Chicken tough. No one finished their meal . The pretzels was soggy in middle . The atmosphere and surroundings were very nice , just don't eat there. .
google avatar

Tim K.

Yelp
Ordered delivery via Uber Eats and thought this would be a decent place to check out. I had the chicken wrap, brussels sprouts, and a side salad. The chicken wrap was good but nothing special. The brussels sprouts were plentiful and on the tasty side. The side salad was small and for some reason they decided not to include any salad dressing though I ordered some. Uber eats was 20 minutes early. The food arrived warm, the driver was friendly, and they supplied utensils and napkins.
google avatar

Adham E.

Yelp
Terrible terrible service and attitude. Would not recommend. Me and a couple other people waited ~45 minutes just to get a server. Then when the bartender finally comes over he was super rude when I asked if my food will take as long as it took for me to try to order it. It's not even busy. Another guy walked out after he saw how rude the bartender was to me.

Yelp
Haymaker has gone up a notch in my book lately with the discovery of one very important weekly event: Sporcle trivia. I had visited in the past with people for various events (people's late-night birthdays, watching games during March Madness, etc) and liked it, but didn't think too much about visiting. Every Sunday night, though, it's a different story. As the evening rolls in, congregate with the best to see where you stand, or defend your crown, as you show everyone how much you know -- not how quickly you can Google. If you do really well, you might even get a discount on your ticket! I've gone a few times now, and I always end up getting a taco salad. It is very tasty (although I'm not a huge fan of its oily shell), and when I wanted just a little something else, I went with the Buffalo Chicken Bites last week, which I also highly recommend. So, don't take my word for it -- Haymaker is a great spot to grab a bite with friends, and to show the world (or just Ann Arbor) how much you know!

Yelp
Covid is over, and this "boomer" is fed up with the unprofessional attitude from 20 something emploees. I ordered fish and chips. When it arrived I mentioned to the server that the plat was cold and the fries wont stay hot. He replied: "If you dont like the food you dont have to eat here!" Later when I mentioned this to the bartender, (who was polite), a barback stepped in and said: "boomers are no longer in charge and we dont like your attitude!". I scout for venues for my companys dinner parties and you just lost out on a party of 20 +- and the plus ones!
google avatar

Kelly M.

Yelp
This place has some really great reviews, maybe it was just an off day, idk. Call-in orders only during COVID-19 restrictions. The food wasn't bad, it was just your average bar food to us. The fat Californian burger was ok, I wish I'd ordered it with lettuce and tomato. The waffle fries were really good. The shoestring fries were ok. Chicken wrap was dry, not bad, kinda bland like the burger.
google avatar

Kelsey I.

Yelp
This place was amazingly good. I got the chicken and waffles. The waffles had a sweet, crunchy bit on them, the chicken was hand breaded, juicy and cooked perfectly and the syrup was made in Michigan and not too sweet. I've never ordered C&W before, but I have a feeling ordering it anywhere else will lead to disappointment. Our server was nice too! We also got the sweet BBQ wings as an app and the funnel cake fries as dessert (we weren't going for healthy this trip- oops). The wings had a delicious flavor and amazing texture to the skin, but the portion was a little on the low side for an app to share. The funnel cake fries were beyond amazing. It would have been nice to have a few dipping sauces like caramel instead of just Nutella, not that they needed it. They have a great 4-6pm M-F special with a percentage off your bill. LOVE this place! Definitely coming back!!

Yelp
With this quarantine life, highly recommend their take out/ delivery! I placed an order online, and immediately got a call from the manager to make sure my order was correct (because I left out a part...). How incredible service is that? Food arrived in less than 40 minutes which is so impressive. It was just what I needed. Plus, they gave me a plate of 6 cookies just for ordering carry out/delivery. Please go here!

Yelp
In town on business, but now it's the weekend and it's time to let my hair down! I Invited 110 of my close friends to come out tonight, but only 25 showed up. Lol. That's what I was expecting. We got here around 8:00pm and took over a table in the bar area. Then as other people who weren't a part of the party left, we just took over more and more tables. Eventually we had control of the whole bar area. I think it was cool that this was allowed to happen with minimal obstruction. Appearance/Atmosphere: Nestled on the corner of Washington and 4th lies this place. HUGE logo written on the side of the building so you can't miss it. If you're familiar with the old Arena Bar & Grill, this stands in its place. Beautiful maize and blue coloring on the outside to represent the mighty University of Michigan! Inside you walk right into the bar area. The bar rail is off to the left with a few tables spread out off to the right with more space toward the back complete with a section for darts! Before reaching that area there's a doorway to the right which takes you to the dining room, which we didn't go into. The place was so alive. Granted, it was mostly my friends in the bar area, so of course we get it hype! Lol. Service: Excellent. Naturally, I've forgotten the name of our server, but he took care of us. White dude with a long beard and wore a hat. He was LEGIT. Like I said, there were like, 25 of us, but he was running back & forth making sure we were all taken care of. Thank you you mysterious bearded gentleman. Food: I should've eaten more because of how much I was drinking, but my girlfriend ordered for me to make sure I ate. Lol. Then boom, the jackfruit taco known as "You Don't Know Jack" and some crispy brussels sprouts land on the table in front of me. Of course I was skeptical about how good jackfruit was going to taste, especially when it was supposed to be disguised as pulled pork, but boy was I wrong. It tasted EXACTLY like BBQ pulled pork and I was blown away. I would legit give up pork (minus bacon) if I could master this jackfruit phenomenon. Lol. Oh, the brussels sprouts were good as well, crispy, hot and not so brussels sprout-y. I would like to come back here sometime to try a real menu item though, when I'm a lot more sober. Value: It's Ann Arbor, so you know prices are a bit elevated. I think I was averaging $10.00-12.00 for each Long Island I had then maybe $7.00-8.00 per beer. So the tab can get big pretty quickly. Lol. My taco was $9.00 with an additional $3.00 to add the brussesls sprouts. Not too shabby, but I really needed more than just that one taco to feel some sort of hunger satisfaction. Thank you Haymaker for allowing all of my friends to come and hang out with me. It was a pleasure coming to your establishment and I'll be sure to return!

Yelp
Good was way overpriced. Service was not good. Food was mediocre. I would not recommend.

Yelp
Great late night delivery! It's fast, delicious and did I mention they're open late? Last time I got the Brisket French Dip which is a meal unto itself. Also their fries are fantastic.

Yelp
We walked and found a table by the bar and sat down (self-seating)... while we waited I was looking around and the other dining room was closed off for special event. After waiting five minutes with no service, we relocated to the bar and good thing, because the moment we moved over to the bar, the bar attendant gave us the drink and food menu. Reviewed the drink menu and I went with Ghettoblaster and as for the food, we ordered the following items: - Chicken & Cakes - crispy, skin-on chicken thigh bites, funnel cake fries, maple syrup - asked for all 3 sauces - 1 lb Pretzel - got it with both dipping sauces Ghettoblaster was not bad... I'm a light beer kind person, so it was nice to try something new. Next time I'm there, I will have to try the sampler and try all their offering. Pretzel - it's large enough for 4 people to share. The pretzel was warm and moist and delicious. I loved their beer cheese and ale mustard! We also got the Carmel dipping sauce, but I would stick to the beer cheese and ale mustard. Chicken & cakes - this was my favorite (granted we only ordered two dishes). I would definitely order this again. This is basically deconstructed chicken and waffle, but instead of using fork and knife, you use your fingers to eat it! Highly recommended. For now, 3 stars due to lack of service for the tables near the bar... but no compliant when it came to their food... on my radar on my next visit - Pickle fries, jumbo wings, diversifries, waffle battered cheese curds... well, I guess I'll have to try everyone on their menu. Until next time.

Yelp
The food was ok, but the servers weren't very friendly when we first walked in. When they brought our food and put the wrong plates in front of the wrong person and we were trying to sort it out the server was a bit snotty about it. Went here for a weekend lunch and they seem to have a more limited menu on the weekend though it wasn't clear because the server just said, " we don't have that now. " Maybe there's a reason this place was empty when other places had people waiting outside.

Yelp
When writing this review, I tried to think of anything bad that stood out to me, and I couldn't come up with anything. I think I just don't enjoy standard american food as much as I like Asian and Mexican, but I don't want to knock them just for that. The food I've had has been great. I've tried the chicken fingers (obviously not from frozen) and Mac and cheese. I was really impressed by their honey hot chicken sandwich. It was so good and a great combination of flavors. The service has been great. I went once before the pandemic and once for takeout. Their takeout ordering online went very smoothly. A great option for downtown A2.

Yelp
I knew this location was changing hands, but didn't hear about HPH moving in or that they had opened. I popped in a whim at lunch time. There is a $7 lunch menu with a nice assortment of items: burgers, shareable, and salads. I had the fat california 1/2 burger cooked medium, that came with shoestring fries. My burger was perfectly cooked. The fried avocado on top was interesting but a little bland. I'll try something else next time, but it was a good burger. The shoestring fries were crisp and salty. Great deal! I sat at the bar. The waiter was really friendly and funny. He didn't mind that I sat at the bar and only had water. The interior is updated and would be a great place to watch a game. I took a pic of their happy hours specials, 4-7pm weekdays. Lots of space for group, good prices, good food and full bar with loads of beer on tap. Don't neglect the can and bottles list too. It's quite extensive.

Yelp
We used to come to Haymakers strictly for their 'Diversifries' - A tray LOADED with all types of hot fries including pickle fries. I immediately ordered it, before looking at the menu, and when they came to the table we were super disappointed, not only was the tray sparse, but Haymakers have stopped serving pickle fries :( Food was ok. The Reuben had a decent amount of meat, but barley any sauerkraut and i'm not sure about the dressing (Did not taste homemade). Mac and Cheese, Fish Tacos and Fries came out cold. Thumbs down to the flavorless Mac and dry Tacos (Chipotle Mayo maybe?). Other diners were satisfied with the Fish and Salad as well as the Honey Chicken. I have to mention that I've never been charged for a side or ranch ($0.50) or extra cheese ($1.00) here before - but there you go. Would have nice for the waitress to let us know as we ordered a few. I have to say the bar staff make EXCELLENT drinks and this place has a great variety of beers on tap. They have weekly specials like Taco Tuesday and the energy is always great (lots of tvs, trivia and board games for the table) Lots of large tables for big groups :)

Yelp
Good beer selection, good burgers, somewhat discouraged with the non-burger selections I've had, but I think we'll be back to try some other selections. On both our outings here, my wife ordered the Ol' Standby burger. The stacked 1/4 lb. patties make it a little difficult to eat, but she says the meat has been excellent. I ordered the chicken caesar wrap the on my first outing at the Haymaker. Instead of a typical wrap sandwich, what came looked like several small soft tacos. I had no problem with that format, and the caesar stuffing tasted good, but there wasn't much of it. Left the table hungry. This was the case again last night when I ordered the house salad w/ chicken. The vegetables in my salad were fresh, and I really liked the fried chickpeas used in place of croutons. But the chicken, which added $4 to the cost of the salad, was very scarce. The goddess dressing was sweeter than the ones I'm used to. I think you're best off here with the heartier selections, such as the burgers. Their french dip is on my radar and I expect that should fill me up. When we do return, we may hit the happy hour, which runs M-F, 3-6PM. 30% off everything, according to the sign. The Haymaker is a sports bar, although we don't go there for that. It does look like a good place to watch a game, though, with TVs easily viewable from almost any angle. We're looking to watch at least part of this year's World Cup, so maybe this is the place to do it, and grab a bite in the process.

Yelp
I had a big craving for a fried chicken sandwich so I walked into Haymaker and ordered the Honey Jalapeno Chicken sandwich. It didn't quite scratch my itch. For starters, the chicken itself was a very thin cut. The breading was also thin, so the sandwich just ends up with thin, dry, crispy strip running through it with a hint of chicken texture. There was more bacon than chicken in this sandwich, but the bacon was also very dry and crispy. There were also no sauces, just a hint of honey on the bottom bun with a couple of small jalapeno pieces that could have easily been missed; I had to open up the sandwich after a few bites just to make sure they were actually there. It was just so dry... now I know why they call it a SANDwich. My wife liked her impossible burger and the tots were good. I had fish and chips here last time that didn't bum me out the way that this chicken sandwich did. So lets round up to a 3 star review and try to move on with our lives.

Yelp
We stopped in while checking out Ann Arbor. They have a terrific beer selection! Our bartender was very friendly, so we stayed for a bit and enjoyed the place. We did not order any food, but we plan to do so soon.
