Haymarket House

I have always known it for being a school. Then just found out it's used by the whole community for events! Awesome. My son's Pinning Ceremony was held here recently. I love the openness and airy feel of the building.

Beautiful and spacious venue for events. Staff were so friendly, helpful and kind. The house layout is very cozy, with a large multi purpose event space, kitchen, reading room, conference space, and garden. Would definitely recommend as a venue to host events if you are looking for a spot in Chicago.

Haymarket hosted a community event for us a few days ago, and it was truly such a wonderful experience. The staff were so incredibly helpful, and everyone was so kind and generous. The space is insanely beautiful. Haymarket really is so dedicated to community and they are always hosting events with mission-driven causes. I highly recommend this venue to other event organizers; and I really encourage everyone to come to events at Haymarket!

Lovely gathering place and venue for radical movements, meetings, and exhibits. Has great facilities and a very beautiful backyard space. I went here for an event by Prison + Neighborhood Arts and Education Project, and they used the outdoor space for food and a panel on abolition feminism, and the indoor space to display an incredible collection of work that incarcerated P+NAP students had made over the course of a class on afrofuturism.

Great space to host events! We were able to use every floor. Our entertainers used the upstairs floor to get dressed and practice while the party was on the main floor. Updated appliances. Great sound system and such a beautiful building inside and out!

I recently attended a community event at Haymarket House with over 60 attendees, and it was an incredible experience! The space is absolutely beautiful and perfect for large, yet still intimate gatherings. The staff went above and beyond to accommodate all our needs—they were incredibly helpful and attentive. Haymarket House does so much for the community, and we’re so grateful to have such a welcoming, purpose-driven venue. Highly recommend this wonderful space for any event!

This was a very lovely building for small performances. Learning that it was once a residential space added to the charm and intrigué. Beautiful old building.

Great venue. I've been here twice for a indoor panel discussion and play reading, and an outdoor fundraiser. The facilities are very clean and flexible for different size crowds, and has many different types of space for people to mingle. They have a kitchen available and nongendered restrooms.
