Dropped off some potatoes , canned sauce and chick peas, pasta , please give to a local food bank or an organization that you’ve researched and is close to your heart !❤️

Sure, they might be disorganized at times, but I've almost always gotten the help I needed. They do a lot of good for the youth in the area from the food pantry to the legal and medical services, and more! The different staff at the reception desk are inconsistent in the service/information offered. One of the guys didn't seem to mind coming across as incompetent and uninformed and an inquiry I left with one of the girls never seems to have reached its destination, but it's such a singular experience I don't mind.

They are an invaluable part of N.D.G, helping families get the resources they need since 1970. My mother was single and struggling in the 70's and H&H was there for her. I will never forget. Thank you so much for all you do!

As a 2-Spirit Trans Mohawk Inuk youth this place did more harm than good in meeting my needs and providing services. A constant turnover of doctors, there was no consistent network of medical care or social workers to support me. I needed and need help to get referrals for surgery but was just given a list of phone numbers and sent away instead of having the doctor discuss and help me explore options. When I asked for help while homeless I was not provided resources or pointers to them either. I was constantly fighting for a spot to see the doctor during their drop-in evenings and would be consistently turned away during the draw in favour of white clients. Despite their self-centred “land acknowledgment” which draws attention away from the experience and lives of Indigenous and especially Kanien’kehà:ka people and centres their own in relation to living on stolen land, I wouldn’t recommend it as a service safe for 2-Spirit/Indigenous youth.

Management does a disservice to clients and the community by encouraging smoking on the property. It's also unlawful (or should be) because of ashtrays and smoking within 9 metres of the entrance. And they take away our choice when they fill the adjoining park with tobacco smoke. This is a chronic and debilitating drug habit aimed squarely at young people. I feel like it would be a mistake to support an organization with such pro-smoking attitudes and policies. I can only imagine what else they are getting wrong.

Everyone I encountered at H&H was extremely helpful and kind. While it is somewhat disorganised it is easy to see that H&H is fulfilling an important role in the community in terms of educating and helping a range of people. Keep up the great work!

Dealing with Head & Hands is the pits. They are disorganized, extremelly unprofessional and inflexible. Their reception staff is unhelpful, not to mention almost completely uninformed about the availability of other staff members. They are not open on Fridays. They do not call back when messages are left. They do not take good messages. Sadly, a strong customer service orientation and spirit of true advocacy for community building is almost completely absent. In its place is a gathering of self-serving, self-indulgent and immature people who offer "help" that isn't help. This is a travesty of what a real community-oriented service center could and should be. H&H staff treats clients like they are a bothersome element and detail of operations, instead of the main event and raison d'etre of their existence. When it comes to H&H, the inmates have truly taken over the institution, which is a pity because the result of such selfishness is that the truly needy and disaadvantaged are not likely to get what they really need, and so continue feeling abused and marginalized - the very thing that H&H says it is trying to ameliorate. I have had four separate encounters with H&H and every one left me confused, frustrated and with a bad taste in my mouth. Avoid.
