Google
great space for a slow coffee or to shop for gifts / books - not a good spot if you’re looking to get work done (no laptops or calls) but I still grabbed an iced coffee and worked across the street! really love the space and shop, so definitely recommend coming on a weekend or if you’re catching up with someone

Went in yesterday to grab an iced coffee. I specifically ordered an Iced Vanilla Mocha with oat milk and the guy took my order and proceeded to make my drink. Mind you the coffee was $7.89 - Very overpriced already. I see him pouring regular milk, and I say hey is that regular milk and he says yes, and I tell him oh I wanted oat milk please. He responded to me, "That'll be extra" .... and I'm just like ok. I don't mind paying an extra .50 or .65 cent for oat milk. At this moment I can tell he's a little flustered with me, but I'm being so nice and I know what I ordered because I'm lactose and tolerant. I then browse around the store and a min or two passes by and my "Iced coffee" is ready. but then I look at the coffee and it's hot. and now I'm replaying the ordering process in my head once again and I'm 1000% sure I ordered Iced coffee. Like there's not a doubt In my mind. I literally don't drink coffee unless it's iced. So I politely say hey this is supposed to be Iced, and he looks at me and says maybe you should communicate that better, first the oat milk and now you want it iced. He then tries to back track and tell me he can re-make it but also he mumbles something under his breath. I simple tell him "You know what, it's ok" and I leave the establishment. I honestly couldn't even deal with the disrespectful attitude any longer and the thought of him for a 3rd time attempting to get my very simple order correct just baffled me. I haven't dealt with such a rude and snobbish attitude in a while and this being my first time in the coffee shop left a horrible taste. Wasted $9 and surely will not be back.

Nice and relaxing coffee shop tucked away on a busy street. The service here is great and they had a good amount of options to choose from. A little on the pricey side but worth it. The turmeric latte was delicious and would come back again for that. Stop by if you’re in the area!

I took a seat outside for less than 5 min waiting for a friend to get off the bus and grab a matcha latte and 2 different baristas came outside to tell me I can't sit there. That i have to order something first to be able to take a seat. I have seen so many people take a seat and not order a thing. Now I'm going to have to tell her we can't catch up at this spot and find another coffee shop. They did me a favor being so damn rude because the coffee is overpriced and the matcha is horrible. Good luck getting new customers with your lovely customer service. I bought NOTHING because they wouldn't let me wait for my friend.

Google
A superb addition to the neighborhood!! A wonderful multi-disciplinary space selling thoughtful art books, delicious coffee + pastries and other unique books. The pastries and coffee are top quality, and the selection of magazines, books and zines is really excellent -- from rare artist monographs to contemporary philosophy and funky artist-made zines. A TRUE NEIGHBORHOOD GEM!

Google
very snobbish. a coffee shop in the 21st-century that doesn’t allow laptops or cell phones?! They even have a sign saying you can’t take pictures of any of the books they have on display because they don't want you buying them elsewhere? Just seems pretty petty and controlling to me. UPDATE: their response below is even more of the same... and yes, no duh, I will move on. I'm writing here to warn others who might not want what you do. good luck.

I’ve been here a few times since arriving in the neighborhood and it’s always great. They have a great selection of books and some nice candles etc as well. The coffee is great and so is the chai. Everyone is friendly and helpful.

Head Hi is my favorite place where to get coffee. The “no phone calls - no cellphones - no laptops” policy, among with a great coffe and pastries, is one of the reasons why I like it. Head-Hi encourage me to unplug from the internet and phone calls, and instead sketch something on a peace of paper, people watch, or browse through a photo book while enjoying my coffee. Their Rum Cake is excellent. The music choices and the book corner makes the experience even more enjoyable. They have candles, fragrances and books for sale.

Yelp
Really wonderful cafe and bookstore with a strong focus on art and architecture -- love the rotating selection displayed covered out, encouraging a closer look!

Yelp
Unplanned stop here and came right before they were closing. Ordered the rum cake because I was in the mood for pastries. Def the absolute best rum cake I've ever had!!! Wow!!! Delicious!!! A must when you stop by! Space was clean smelled good and great customer service. Nice touch to the neighborhood

Yelp
The store and staff are phenomenal, responsive, and accommodating! Their service and shipping are second-to-none. I highly recommend a stop in to their store, or a visit to their website.

Yelp
I was early to work and wanted a place to get a head start with work. They have great lighting and is a quiet space. This would've been a great place to do that. The one thing is that they don't have wifi and don't allow laptops out. I love this idea but didn't know this going in and wanted to get a head start on work. I'm not a coffee person so I got an iced chai with oat milk and, as a person whose tried chai at A LOT of places, their chai was pretty good. It was well spiced and not too sweet. I'd definitely order from them again. If you're looking for a place to catch up with friends or have a chill morning free of stress, this is the perfect place! The staff is friendly, they have lots of books to look through, and large windows so you can also just sit and people watch.

Yelp
Simply THE BEST!!! I get dizzy thinking about it. I bring my son Jimothey here, he is 4 but I call him the tornado because after his 2nd espresso he gets AMPED UP! yes

Yelp
Food: 4/5 Service: 4/5 Decor: 5/5 (minimalist but quirky) Value: 4/5 The store serves various functions. After buying a coffee and a pastry, walk through the store and find a seat to relax. There's books to read and if you find something you like, they are al reasonably priced. I started reading "Hunger Makes Me a Modern Woman" by Carrie Brownstein and decided it was too good to put down and bought it for $10. There's also artwork, candles (& natural deodorant), and furniture for sale, some of which is super comfy (looking at you, weird yet beautifully colorful string stool). It redefines art galleries by making them less pretentious as customers can interact with the artwork as they sip their coffee.

Yelp
Wonderfully sweet, kind, and generous owners ... and "dam fine coffee"! The pasties were fresh and delicious 1 and we loved looking at the curated selection of books as we waited :)

Yelp
My favorite shop in Clinton Hill, hands down. Great specialty coffee, their own custom blends of loose leaf tea & amazing local pastries from Saraghina in Bed-Stuy. The real seller for me though is the vibe. The owners are a pair of kind, sweet, extremely personable artists who have a unique, contemporary point of view and exquisite taste. A constantly changing, well-sourced selection of small-run art books, novellas & magazines anchors the retail offering. The space is also dotted with beautiful hand-made pottery, accessories and home goods (I just bought some gorgeous hand-fired ceramic bowls actually ). The décor is knowingly minimal but warm. The esoteric mix of music they play complements the overall grown up cool-kid aesthetic. If I can manage to snag the one table they have, I find I can sit there for hours, sipping 'head-hi' blend tea, reading my new purchase, snacking on a croissant and inevitably reaching for my phone to look up and save every third song that comes on their little sound system. What can I say? I Head Hi.

Yelp
My go-to neighborhood spot for solid coffee. Never disappoints and it's consistent. Owner is very friendly and ambience/decor is quirky. The layout changes every week which keeps things interesting. Love this spot and will definitely be back!

Yelp
Popped in after walking the Brooklyn Bridge in a cold, blustery day. Great music, comfy atmosphere and amazing coffee. Just what I needed before making the trek back to my hotel.

Yelp
Oh my lord! I love that place. Great coffee and good customer service. Awesome coffee. I love the taste. The staff was soooo sweet and accommodating. Well worth the high reviews.

Yelp
Incredible book / art hub. Super friendly. Enviro conscious. I've been there for exhibitions of local artists work as well as for beverages and they even helped me order a publication from a distributor in Europe. Support your local bookstore!

Yelp
Ever since we moved our business here, my biggest lament was that there wasn't a good neighborhood coffee place. The coffee is the best in the hood and the vibe is solid and welcoming, in no way pretentious. Since Head Hi opened up, our days have improved drastically. Even if I don't need coffee, I'll pop in to say hi and check out the curated book and art selection. I'm proud to help make this place a neighborhood gathering place.

Yelp
I stopped by while getting my car inspected, and it is such a little respite in a quickly developing part of Fort Greene! I also surf, so feel at home. I'm not a huge coffee snob, but the Americano that Marcos (the owner) pulled was particularly stellar too. Immediate texted my Seattle-born husband that we have a great new spot for him to get his coffee fix. Will return!

Yelp
Stopped into Head Hi this afternoon after seeing a few flyers about something new in the neighborhood. So glad I did! Super delicious coffee in a beautiful mug, interesting books and gifts to peruse, and lovely conversation with the owners. These guys have made something very nice for the neighborhood. It's not just your standard grab and go coffee shop, but more tiny gallery/salon/bookstore with a few objects of interest, a curated bookshelf, and warm vibes. Also, baked goods. I didn't have any of the pastries, but they looked like yummy standards. Come by if you need to pick up a unique little gift, treat yourself to a warm drink, or want to flip through beautiful, interesting books you might not ever find on your own. Spend a few minutes chatting with Alexandria and Mosco and feel happy and lucky that you've found yourself in this special spot.

Yelp
Coffee & pastry nourishment, while style and art books feed your soul. This choice spot is a great place to recharge

Yelp
Such a great spot. Carefully selected art and music in a cool atmosphere. Hosts are friendly and the service is quick. Their coffee is delicious and the limited selection pastries are very tasty.
