Stopped in on Feb 1 to try a beer release and beer poking. HeadFlyer has a solid selection of beer of great variety. The taproom is a part of an old textile building shared with other businesses. Definitely a cool spot, even though it could be crowded. The patio outside is spacious, but also looks like it could be crowded easily. They also have the Wolf's Den where they have watch parties for Timberwolf games. Overall, staff was pretty top notch. It did seem like one of the staff was just annoyed about everything. Maybe that's just their way of operating. Overall, this is definitely a brewery to visit for the first time or 100th time to enjoy a beer.

As Headflyer regulars, we wanted to incorporate them into our wedding weekend. We decided to host our "Welcome to Minneapolis" drinks at this venue. We worked with the events team at HeadFlyer and reserved the 3 table spaces for our guests. Even when many more people arrived than we expected, the bartenders were great and able to keep up with orders and busing tables. The pizza truck and beers were huge hits with our guests and we couldn't be happier with the night went!

Laid back tap room with patio deck & picnic table area to enjoy great draft beer. Good variety of beers, their juicy IPA was top notch and their Fresh Dressed Kölsch and Vanilla Bean Porter were great as well. One of the best Kölsch I have ever tasted.

Decent beer with a good amount of variety. Very noisy tap room. Don't expect to have a conversation at a normal voice level. The outdoor area looks great but has limited seating as well as being a little small. Good use of the space for what they have. Staff was rude and a little harsh. They didn't seem to care to provide an enjoyable customer experience. One employee shouted "Last call" right in the faces of two customers at the bar. Oh they have a wii so that's cool. The interior was fresh and modern. A nice brewery but with so many in the TC area I don't see myself having a reason to go back. Best of luck!

love this brewery so much and wondering why it took me so long to get here. absolutely fantastic atmosphere, friendly staff, dog friendly, and the beer...the beer is just incredible. i am just amazed at the quality and taste of the beer they have. parking is a breeze, lots of seating, clean and comfortable! they have games to play so hopefully those come back post covid! can’t wait to come back!

Stopped in for a pint today, Kate was my lovely beertender who went over the tap list w me and I opted for a pint of Vanilla Bean Porter and later a small pour of Strawberry Whip. I arrived @ 12p open, the only customer, giving me a chance to chat up beertender Kate. I like the tap room; spacious digs w a lot of windows, w a patio, that I've never been out on and forgot to get pictures of. I asked what the building was originally and was informed a business that made potato sacks; thus why there are some hanging on the north wall as you walk to the brewery. So.... the digs are comfortable, parking is easy in their lot, beer is good and staff are friendly. Besides beertender Kate, I shared just a few words w brewer Sean and tap room manager Dan. After sitting down I told Kate: I don't know how I always forget about you guys? I haven't been here in years! All the tables are well spaced out and there are a few regular height tables, a couch or two by the west wall, the comfy slightly padded stools @ the bar & basic brewery stools @ the high top tables. After today I have no excuse not to stop back in way sooner than another year!! Thanks Headflyer and Kate for a delightful visit, looking forward to returning to work my way through the tap list, cheers!

I visited this brewery Saturday night with my wife while we were in town from Asheville (Beer City). We always like to check out local breweries when we travel to compare experiences. I ordered a flight, and the person behind the bar asked for my ID—which I assumed was for an age check. Instead, he used it to verify the name on my debit card. I found that pretty insulting. Who steals a card and then goes out for craft beer with their family? The assumption was unnecessary and offensive. To make matters worse, the beer was mediocre at best. Good luck with your staff and whatever training they’re getting. The experience left a bad taste in more ways than one. Replying to your response: As I stated clearly above, he was not checking my ID to confirm my age — and you already knew that. Your response only confirms the type of management behind this operation. I didn’t expect a candid or honest reply, and unfortunately, that expectation was met. This line of business should be approached with humility, not unwarranted arrogance. At the end of the day, you're running a craft beer business — nothing more. Best of luck because you will need it.

Super nice setup brewery with a great patio and even better selection. We will be back next time we're in the area! The seltzer was great along with the strawberry fluff beer.

Yelp
I was visiting my friends in MN and HeadFlyer was apart of my brewery tour, amongst others. I think this place and their "It Was All a Dream" hazy IPA has made it into my top 3 favorite breweries and beers of all time! YEAH I SAID THAT! We arrived just past noon on a Saturday. It wasn't very crowded, but I have since followed them on Instagram and have seen posts of how packed it can get, especially when a MN sports team in playing! I ordered a flight of 4 beers--3 IPAs and 1 that I let the bartender choose as a surprise. It was their hefeweizen I believe, and although I typically drink IPAs, it was very good and reminded me of when I used to drink Shock Top and Blue Moon when I was first of drinking age. We sat on the couches to the right back corner as you walk into the brewery and it was a relaxing atmosphere to enjoy some brews and catch up with friends. I honestly cannot wait to be back and am just hoping that when my friends come back to visit in California, they surprise me with a couple more 4-packs lol.

Yelp
First off, I really appreciate a parking lot, even if it's one shared between 4 businesses. Up next, 80s music is playing in the background right now, which means I'm also in the middle of improv karaoke- very unfortunate for the 4 other patrons, as I can't carry a tune, despite knowing all the words. Meh, with a few more drinks, I'm bound to start sounding better. It has the industrial decor theme going & a well spread out space with an assortment of seating options, games and plenty of space for large groups. Most patrons have their eyes glued to their phones (same as me, currently)... lots of black puffer jackets & 1 baby. Kind of quiet but it's Monday at 2pm... so, probably not rush hour. I went with a coffee cream ale - It's a decent beer, tho I'm not sure I'm picking up much coffee on the tastebuds and I know I'm not getting any on the nose. It's refreshing tho. I may hafta go with the coffee porter next to bump it up a notch. Bonus for using 5 Watt Coffee, which alo happens to be right next door - yum Bonus #2 for up to date tap list on their website.

Yelp
I thought this was a lovely little brewery. We have a bunch of these kinds in Chicago, but I would say this place was higher than average. The Helles was ok, but the Juicy IPA and their special "Maroon and Gold" were excellent. This seems to be a chill spot and the Minnesota friendliness was found in spades with the bartender. Excellent service. This will be going on my list as this place was nearly perfect and exactly what I was looking for tonight! Nice, simple, and good!

Yelp
A great spot to drink beer and hangout Northeast! The staff is friendly, the space is cozy, and the beer is delicious. Most recently we were there during March madness and they had $5 pints which was great. They always have a good variety on tap including one of my favorite IPAs around- it was all a juicy dream! However I do usually stick to the lighter beers these days and they always have plenty to choose from. Honorable mention to their enormous parking lot that makes your visit super convenient. Can't wait for patio season!

Yelp
Stumbled across this nice brewery while out hopping with my friends. It's a very nice rustic building with a lot of charm. The parking lot is big, if it's full you might have to park across the street. I had a flight, trying 4 beers for a decent price: Check Pilsner Hazy IPA Cold IPA West Coast IPA All them were good: subtle flavors combine for a smooth robust beer.

Yelp
I love this place, the beer and the atmosphere are wonderful. The bartenders are kind and super helpful! Their THC sodas are the best I've had!

Yelp
Dog friendly. Great beers. Friendly staff. I love the atmosphere especially in the summer when the doors are open to the large deck. It can get a little loud inside.

Yelp
Whenever I am in the area I always stop at Ombibulous. It is one of the best liquor stores I have EVER been to. Being able to break up any pack of beer into singles is something I wish more liquor stores would do. On top of that, they primarily have Minnesota products - which is something I can get behind. But this isn't just about my love for Ombibulous (though I have enough of that to go around), this is about the brewery right down the street - Headflyer. Walk past the great coffee shops and stores and walk into a brewery that is just waiting to pour you a beer. Dog friendly inside and outside, cans / crowlers / bottles to go, and some awesome game options are just waiting for you. That is ignoring the beer options they have! They have their canned seltzers as well as an array of styles for your perusing eyes. I grabbed a flight to try their styles from light to dark and get a feel for what they are up to. Czech Yo Self: A Czech Pilsner with Bohemian Pilsner malt and a touch of Sterling hops that hits all the right notes. A medium-low bread character with a hint of honey sweetness. Spicy hop flavors and aromas with a medium-low bitterness. Beautiful color and clarity on the beer! Candy Paint: A Double Dry Hopped IPA hopped with Vic Secret and Citra. Pleasant medium-high bitterness with grapefruit and citrus hop flavors. Scotchy Scotch: A Scotch Ale with Rye, Smoked, and Roasted malts. Honestly, was not what I was expecting when ordering a Scotch Ale, but I did enjoy it. The smokeyness is not overwhelming as it is balanced by the spicy espresso notes of the other malts in the beer. A low caramel sweetness that is usually higher in a scotch ale. No hop flavor or aroma apparent - but to be expected in a Scotch Ale. Medium-light in body and extremely drinkable. Mint Chocolate Factory: A Pastry Stout to round out the flight. This one brewed with mint chocolates. Medium in body, which is surprising for a pastry stout. A medium flavor of mint chocolate that doesn't take over the beer, but actually accentuates the cocoa and malty sweet flavors of the base beer. Not chewy in the slightest and went down faster than expected. Pair this with a thin mint and have one heck of an evening! ________________

Yelp
This brewery is one I haven't heard of and really glad that we stopped in here as I tried four different types of beers and loved them all. It was a little confusing when we first got there and parked, as we didn't know how to enter, but we went to the front of the building and found that the entrance was by the outdoor patio area. The Brewery inside was not as large as we thought it would be, but still fit enough people. I also noticed that the service was a little slow with two bartenders, so would recommend a third with how busy it was. It definitely did not affect our experience though. We started off with a flight of the following beers and all were amazing, but the About Damn Lime was the best. The IPAs were great as they were smooth and not super hoppy. 1 - Triple Berry Kettle Sour 2 - About Damn Lime - Fruit Whipped Ale 9 - Candy Paint - DDH Hazy IPA 6 - Prolific West Coast IPA I ordered a full beer after doing the flights and decided on their flag ship, which is a juicy IPA called "It was all a dream" and glad I tried that one as well. We will definitely come back here. I liked the beer so much, I ended up buying 3 growlers and got an extra $5 off by doing 3 vs 2. The parking lot was huge and the space offers great drinks, games, tvs and is dog friendly.

Yelp
Stopped in for a free pint after getting a voucher for donating blood last week. Kate was my lovely beertender who when I showed her the voucher to confirm i could use it replied "yes, thank you for donating!" Aww how sweet! Kate went over the tap list w me and I opted for a pint of Vanilla Bean Porter and later a small pout of Strawberry Whip. I arrived @ 12p open so there was only an employee playing cribbage w brewer Shawn and then just me, giving me a chance to chat up beertender Kate. I like the tap room; spacious digs w a lot of windows, w a patio, that I've never been out on and forgot to get pictures of. I asked what the building was originally and was informed a business that made old potato sacks; thus why there are some hanging on the north wall as you walk to the brewery. Yelp
Well, I guess it's been three years since we've been to this brewery, and this time we were decidedly underwhelmed. I think they had the same beers they had last time we came, I probably even ordered the exact same flight again. A sour, which wasn't very sour and was kind of thin, really more like a soda pop more than a beer. The blueberry babe, which was my favorite of the four, but really I wouldn't order a whole pint of it. A strawberry which tasted like strawberry jam with water stirred up in it, my least favorite of the four. And then unremarkable vanilla porter, which I wouldn't kick out of bed, but would definitely not return for. All in all, we decided life is too short to return to this brewery. Maybe we are spoiled by all of the incredible breweries we have in Northeast Minneapolis, but the service honestly wasn't great either. I think these dudes hate their job.

Yelp
We went on a Saturday afternoon which may have not been the best for a first time. We met some friends for a quick drink before dinner all of our beers were subpar. By no means our last time giving it a try, but not our favorite brewery as of late.

Glenn S.

Yelp
We visited Headflyer yesterday during the Johnny Athletic podcast recording. Packed house. Our first visit to this brewery and we were impressed. Excellent beer. I had the Feel the Flow Golden Ale. A great choice for me. My wife enjoyed the Root Down. Friendly staff. Nice size parking lot.
google avatar

Yelp
Great spot with plenty of tables and friendly staff. I like the size of the space and the long bar. Their beer selection is good and it's not to expensive. Live music was a bit loud for a brewery, but it was the Wednesday before Thanksgiving so maybe appropriate. They also do frozen(?) pizzas, which is great!
google avatar

John C.

Yelp
Dogs and babies, it seems the thing today is to have businesses where everyone can bring their dogs and babies, and this place is no exception. But the beer is great, so what the heck. My only complaint is that it is real loud because of the hard surfaces, but that's not their fault because they moved into a space that already came that way, and they added some sound damping technology.

Yelp
I was craving to get out on a Friday night and had my 5 year old -so I needed something kid friendly that we would both enjoy. After messaging a guy to see if he and his cute pup wanted to join us, the search or a brewery that was both kid friendly AND dog friendly was on. And this one fit BOTH!! Upon entering with my little guy, he spotted a container of l sidewalk chalk at the entrance. Kudos to them for actually being kid friendly!! And to top that off, one of the staff working encouraged him to grab the chalk and go color on the sidewalk with it! They also had a selection of in house sodas that are canned available too. (Seriously, yay for being so dang kid friendly!!!) My little guy opted for a cream soda...amd of course I had to sneak a few sips to make sure it was on par! It was! Not too overly sweet and perfect carbonated. They also had some board games available. We choose Jenga and dominos to play with my 5 year old. It wasn't until we checked out and was leaving that we spotted the humongous connect 4 out on the patio. Truly dog friendly?? Absolutely! Both inside and out on the patio. They also had water bowls and treats available for those fur babies. The brewery itself has a really nice open, relaxing atmosphere and a beautiful patio as well as a lower level picnic table area. The beer selection was great and the staff was above and beyond friendly compared to most in my experience. They seriously deserve more than the 5 star I am allowed to give them! I started with the dark, broody Vanilla Porter (and enjoyed!) and went back for a Pineapple IPA (which I almost never get! Hey, I'm a dark beer kind of gal!) It was lovely! Both kiddo and that sweet guys pup enjoyed the hang out. My only complaint would be that it would be nice to see a food truck or something more than flavored popcorn available for eats. If they had that, we probably would've easily stayed longer and had another round. We will definitely be back. It think this is my latest fav brewery.

Yelp
Fun spot to hang out with the family. A wide variety of seltzers, beers, and THC drinks on tap. Service at the counter went fast.
google avatar

Heidi H.

Yelp
Headflyer Brewing is a great family friendly space! (Or for anyone) but this is review is specifically for families. They have a huge projector TV so you and the kiddos can watch a local sports game. Bring some board games with, grab some local snacks when you order a beer and have a good time. The staff are incredible and the beer is tasty.
google avatar

Kat B.

Yelp
I've never even heard of this place and I loved it! My friend said there was an event going on here but I think we missed the live music. It was for their 2nd anniversary. We didn't get here until 9pm. They had great beer and I love the building they're in. The atmosphere is really cool and they have a couple giant games like giant connect 4 and cribbage. Which was cool. We played a game of cribbage. Near the entrance they also have a bunch of games to choose from! And on our way out I saw a cute little table on the side that looked like it was for kids with building blocks! Also anywhere that allows dogs is my favorite! 5 stars I will 100% be back!
google avatar

Marie C.

Yelp
I came to Headflyer on a Friday early evening and it wasn't too crowded. They have a parking lot shared with the businesses in this center. It gets pretty crowded but not impossible to find parking! I got the Kingfield which is a coffee porter. I'm not the biggest bear gal but when I do drink beer, it's a porter or a stout. I really liked this one and would definitely drink it again. Inside the brewery there's a ton of seating including benches and couches. They've also got a cozy fireplace, a ton of games, and cute decor! The overall vibe is very chill, place to bro down. Looking forward to coming back here!
google avatar

Jason K.

Yelp
Really good beer and they had stickers. Score. The bartenders were super cool. I would have given 5 stars, but there were probably 10 dogs in the building and I am totally cool with dogs on the patio, but I couldn't even hear my wife talking right in front of me with all the barking. It really ate into the experience. I tried their flight of beers and they were all amazing. It would have been nice to have a conversation with my companion though.
google avatar

Mikhala F.

Yelp
Since I can't drink beer, I'll keep this short and sweet and more about atmosphere/experience. Although--my boyfriend did like their beer! He recommends the flight first (cheaper than flights at other locations and they really fill up the tulip glasses!) and then getting a full size of your favorite one. We came here before checking out the Mission Manor downstairs. Plenty of seating, cool ambience, fireplace, and some awesome games! Cozy and comfortable but plenty of space to bring a big group. This deserves its own line: THEY HAVE LIFE SIZE CRIBBAGE BOARD. Minnesotans and cabin-goers unite!! Lots of board games in the back corner. They also host a weekly trivia night!
google avatar

Garrett H.

Yelp
Great local brewery with a wide variety of beer options. The staff was friendly and gave great recommendations. A great modern indoor space combined with a gorgeous patio make this a great brewery for small groups.
google avatar

Aleah H.

Yelp
I have been to Headflyer quite a few times, and I am a big fan! I have quite a few favorites, but they also rotate their taps pretty often so there is always something new to try! They are totally dog friendly, but also have enough ground rules that it is not obnoxious for others. They also have plenty of parking which is helpful, plus a food truck pretty often. My favorite "extra" is their giant cribbage board and other games. Playing games on their patio in the summer is a solid way to spend an afternoon! Overall, I will always come back for the enjoyable atmosphere and reasonable prices for a great rotating selection of beers!
google avatar

Rachael M.

Yelp
So many great things about headflyer! Who doesn't love a brewery in Minneapolis with parking!! The tap room is huge, bright, and inviting! The beer is great! Dream Shake is like you are drinking a creamy milkshake! Lithium is like foot loops meets dream shake, and the radiant sour was tart and tasty! Also I don't have a dog but, they are dog friendly and we enjoyed meeting many puppets! Also I am super excited that you can get dream shake in cans at the liquor store now!!!
google avatar

Annette N.

Yelp
Ok-I stopped by today to buy a gift card for someone who frequently plays trivia here and really enjoys this establishment. I was super impressed with how friendly this place is and I will be back and bring friends.

Yelp
I am not your typical brewery customer, I'm more of a wine or vodka gal, but I do love me a good dark beer and the Vanilla Bean Porter here suited me right down to the ground. This is an excellent space, with a warehouse kind of vibe, lots of heavy wood tables and a gorgeous bar. There is plenty of seating and enormous TVs on the wall, plus a cribbage table fit for WunWun the giant. The brewery vats are visible behind a glass wall and everything is very clean. I like that you can get your own water at a self-serve tap at the end of the bar. The Tulip glasses are a perfect size for me, about 8 ounces of delicious beer. All of the beers on the menu come with good descriptions so you know what you're getting. Some people at my table ordered a flight and tried four kinds. I happily stuck with my porter. Although we did not order food, there is a pretty good menu of basics available, burgers and fries and such. I highly recommend this spot if you are a beer aficionado!
google avatar

Ron A.

Yelp
My favorite brewery in Northeast Minneapolis by far. Awesome selection of beers; friendly, helpful staff; and, best of all, dog-friendly inside and out. Came for the beer, came back for the friendly neighborly vibe.
google avatar

Jeff O.

Yelp
Awesome beers. Great staff. Very clean, sexy set up with the brewing. I had their hazy juicy IPA and it was really really good. They also have a unique IPA made with lager malts that's really smooth, and clean but with that subtle hoppy mouthfeel.
google avatar

Lisa P.

Yelp
I love how all the taprooms in the area have their own unique feel, and Headflyer has a industrial yet warm, friendly atmosphere that I loved. Pros: - Dog friendly inside - Good variety of beers - a little heavy on IPAs? - Tons of board games - Large cribbage board table - Specials on weeknights - Large projector to watch tv - Parking lot outside Overall, Headflyer will be in my taproom rotation going forward.
google avatar

Stacey L.

Yelp
Loved, loved, loved the vibe and design of Headflyer. My BFF just moved a couple blocks away from here so we walked over for a visit and found a lovely taproom. Lots of friendly dogs, fun neon, and cool illustrated designs on the walls and glasses. Everything is bright and clean and there's plenty of sun in the afternoon. If you're there at the right time there's an empanada truck outside for your food needs. I landed on the Royale Wit - a Belgian Wit. It had a clean flavor and was great for a summer day. I was hoping to try the Vanilla Bean Porter but it wasn't yet on tap. The bright side is I have something to look forward to on my next trip to MN! Side note, a million props for naming the Juicy IPA "It Was All A Dream." Still giggling about it.

Yelp
This place is a force to be reckoned! I was on the search for a dog-friendly brewery and this place has right in their description that four-legged friends are welcome here. I had never heard of this place, but it looks like this is their inaugural year and we'll definitely be back. I love the open layout and there is plenty of seating so it doesn't feel over crowded. Also, they have a beautiful patio area that we were able to enjoy on lovely fall day! You can borrow Jenga or play Bags out front. Because this was a new brewery for me, I wanted to try a few different brews so I opted for a flight. Let me start off by saying, their flights mean business! You choose only four types of beers, but they give you around 5 oz each. 5 oz doesn't seem like a lot, but once they're sitting right in front of you, you realize that you are probably going to need to Lyft home. I can't wait to go back and try them all! But next time, I'm leaving the car at home!

Yelp
Great building space in a good location. Ample parking. Plenty of interior indoor brewery space as well as a sweet patio outside to enjoy those Minnesota 'spring' days. A good selection of games will keep you and your group entertained while enjoying some good ole day drinking. If games isn't your thing there is a projector that is typically showing some sports game. The interior space is really done nicely (from the full wall art to the custom table/chairs to the sweet fireplace. They even have their tanks on display for visitors to oh and awe over a pint or two. The glass designs are pretty sweet as well, picked up a growler the other day so now just got to add one of their glasses to the ever growing collection at home. Now onto the good stuff....Had a chance to try all of the currently available taps and I was impressed. They do offer flights so if you're undecided or just like trying the all that would be the route to start off the visit with. I have to admit that my top 2 favorite beers that I can see myself drinking each time I go there is the 'It Was All A Dream - Juicy IPA' and the 'Vanilla Bean Porter'. You won't be disappointed getting either one of those. They also have the Vanilla Bean Porter on Nitro but there are still some kinks they are working on with the system to get it just right, but in the meantime the regular Porter (not on nitro) is still delicious. Oh and they do have craft sodas for those non beer drinkers/sober drivers. I definitely see myself becoming a frequent visitor of this fine establishment. So far I'm on track, 2nd wknd in a row :)

Yelp
Great location and pup friendly! Yummy selection of beer and friendly server. Definitely a place to add to the rotation!

Yelp
Their Grand Opening was last week. So, this is the first week of 'normal' operation. Taproom - Nice space. Nothing extravagant. But, another good example of how taprooms bring new life to the older buildings in the area. Nice outdoor seating area, but not today - too cold. The standout taproom feature - the 'Moose Light'. Love the MN theme (and soft(er) chairs at the bar). Emoji - IPA - Tasty. If you are an IPA fan like me, you will like this beer. But, not a 'wow' beer. Vanilla Bean Porter - Really tasty. Vanilla flavor very forward in smell and taste. Goblin System - Belgian IPA - Classic type of Belgian IPA. Nothing really extraordinary, but tasty. It Was All A Dream - Juicy IPA - This might be their go to beer. This beer did provide the 'wow' factor. My favorite of what I sampled today.

Yelp
Good service. Good hops. Good ales. Friendly staff. Came here for as a plus one for my boyfriend's company outings, toured the brewery, and tried each brew on tap and I've got to say, this is probably going to be a great competitor with other neighborhood breweries like Indeed and Insight. What to expect? Hoppity hop hop hop and lots of it! Which is a good thing if you like that kind of stuff. Personally, I'm more of a Belgium and cider kind of gal -- hence, four star rating. We tried one of each brew they had on tap and out of all eight, I really enjoyed the Vanilla Bean Porter they have on tap. They also have a very nice and spacious patio that faces Hennepin Ave. which I can only imagine it being sooo nice to sit there as the sun sets on a summer evening. This would be the perfect place to stop by in the summer to catch up with friends, for a first date, and a great place to rent out for events.

Yelp
For being open less than a month, Headflyer is sure set to impress. Beautiful interior nestled in among trendy art galleries and classic loft-style brick walls. I love the giant cribbage board set right in front of a big screen. They also have plenty of board games to keep everyone happy, and a table for kids (scratch that, anyone) with legos and blocks. Good unique beer selection--we were able to try a couple before settling on a decision. The Freckled Amber was quite good and has a strong caramel flavor. We sat up at the bar, and thought it would have been nice to get a recommendation or two since we clearly were all of the board with what we were trying, or to have just some interaction with the bartenders. Especially since they weren't busy, I love when they really try to help you find something that you'll love. It was very bright inside with several neon lights on the walls. It gives off a cool vibe but could maybe be turned down just a touch. Hoping that the next time I go, it's nice enough to be able to take advantage of the outdoor patio! They have sodas as well, but sadly no kombucha (I love that more bars have it now since if I'm not drinking alcohol, I'd like to sip on something rather than downing a soda). There is a lot with plenty of parking so that is a sure way of getting me to come back--no hassle whatsoever or driving around in circles looking for a place to park.

Yelp
Love the building this place is in, but it seems they mostly covered up all the character in the taproom. Boo! I've been twice. Twice it's been very noisy, though I did notice they have sound stuff under the tables (smart!) Maybe some more in the rafters would help. I enjoyed a (I think) Honey Wheat both times. So very drinkable and light. Cons: Dogs. I'm just one of those people that don't see the need to bring dogs every where. Patios - fine. Inside mid-January - No. In an already loud space, barking dogs aren't good. Also love the big cribbage table, though it seems it's always in use.

Yelp
What a great brewery! I love the outdoor patio area and the beer selection. They have great hazy IPAs as well as fruitier beers such as a peach whip! There is no food.. but this will still be one of the breweries I frequent this summer! I can't wait to try their other brews!

Yelp
I enjoyed this brewery a lot! I recently discovered that it is hard for me to find beers that I like during the winter for whatever reason, but I enjoyed the beers that I had at Headflyer! I really liked the aesthetic as well, it is a bright, open space with plenty of seating. We came on a late Sunday afternoon and there weren't many too many people around, so we were able to relax with our beers. I will definitely be back!

Yelp
This is a great addition to the Twin Cities tap room scene. Modern design with interesting neon lights to decorate. Large gas fireplace with comfortable searing facing it. Other seating includes bar seats, long tables, and high tops. There is a large screen TV for those wanting to catch the game. They have a patio that we weren't able to check out because of weather. I tried one beer that was a combo of Belgian and IPA. Interesting mix! On the night we were there, they had a food truck onsite, but the bar also has a 3-ring binder listing restaurants the deliver.

Yelp
Awwe yiss, finally a brewery that puts out a respectable NE IPA! What is a NE IPA, you might be wondering? New England IPA, aka juicy IPA, aka hazy IPA. Basically an unfiltered IPA, and they are all the rage right now. I've been to a few breweries around Mpls claiming to have these only to receive a beer that is not hazy at all, and heavy disappointment ensues. Fortunately this beer (called It Was Only a Dream, I think) seems to be the real deal, and is delish. Hubby got 'Heavy D' which is the double IPA version of this and dang it was boozy - I preferred the original. Lots of other tasty sounding brews on tap, I got Goblin System for my next, a Belgian style IPA, and it definitely hit the spot and reminded me why I love that style so much. Hub's 2nd beer was Emoji, which seems like just your basic IPA. I enjoyed it but liked the juicy IPA better. The interior is pretty cool - I really love their art/pint glass design! They are in a recently renovated building so everything is still very "new" smelling. Nice big space, the tables/chairs inside are padded underneath, I'm assuming to help control the noise - it was quite noisy when we visited buuuuut it was also trivia night so that likely has something to do with it. Nice big projector in one corner which was playing poker championships (btw how is Hellmuth still around?!). Dogs are allowed inside and outside which is pretty cool (and a forewarning if you're not a dog fan. I myself prefer pets in breweries to children). Good patio seating, somehow on a mid-July evening though it was actually a little too chilly to sit out for long (not helped by the mystery raging wind). Will definitely be back, there are several other beers I wanted to try! Maybe not on trivia night though (Wednesdays if you're wondering) as it was a tad crowded. I'm pretty impressed for a new brewery, they've got their shit together right off the bat!

Yelp
I came to Headflyer with some friends in a large group after doing an escape room at Mission Manor. They reserved a corner of the restaurant for our large party, and gave us each a free drink (thank you!). The IPA I ordered was solid, and the bartenders were assisting all of us during a busy time with ease. The restaurant itself is in a large building that leases out about 5-6 businesses. There is plenty of seating in their space, and the brewery has a nice vibe to it. Not too loud, spacious, windows-it just felt comfortable. They do trivia at 7pm on Wednesday, and have a large TV (like the size of a wall) in the back corner. They also have a pretzel trail mix to snack on. I'd come back to try some of their food and participate in Trivia!

Yelp
Somewhat mid range beer on tap in a cool location. I've had their "It was all a dream" juicy IPA which was good and I remember liking their Emoji IPA in the past. Tried the Kingfield Coffee Porter - nice mellow roasted but smooth finish. Would be a great beer without the heavy sweet aftertaste but liked it. Place was well below capacity today but service was still slow. Was alone at the bar for 5-10 mins hoping to place an order but did not get noticed. After a friend stopped by, a bartender finally came over. Was pressed on time so just this one beer. Non beer musings: Parking can be a struggle but if you look all the way in the back there's usually room. Dog friendly. Usually see cool fun dogs all over this place. If you have a lonely dog at home, bring them here. Fireplace has cozy seating if they're available. Bar stools have a slight backrest and well padded making them so much more comfortable than the metal patio chairs out at the tables. Outdoor seating only during the summer-fall months. The pergola slats don't provide any shade so bring a hat if the sun's high. There's a lot of hiding spots for cops near Headflyer so the patio also doubles as a good spot to check out unsuspecting speeding cars. Feel free to place mental bets on when the brakes get engaged. Two sets of restrooms. Every brewery taproom needs this. Lots of board games. I played slapjack once and found out the tables are slap-worthy. Employees are usually friendly except today. Don't go today.

Yelp
Some of my favorites beers available in this market. Not to mention their taproom space is awesome. The delivery option during Covid has been amazing and their customer service is unmatched!

Yelp
This is my second time at headflyer and I am pleasantly surprised by how much I am loving it. The first time I was here it was almost full in the middle of the week and everyone had their dogs with them! This time I came for trivia night with a group of 4 people and the place was nearly packed again! Trivia nights are on Wednesday and there are no drink specials during it :( the beer here is great, they do a good job of making a good mix of different kinds of beers so there's something for everyone. One think I really liked about this bar is their use of noise cancelling material under their chairs. There are a few breweries and bars I've been to that are way too loud and I can't hear the trivia questions! My only qualm about this place is that there really aren't good table options if you have a group larger than 6.

Yelp
I came here for National Beer Day with some friends. I highly recommend the Proper Pint Irish Stout if you like stouts! Ps. At the time of my visit, they had exceptional toilet paper in their restroom. It is those kind of small amenities that encourage a 5 Star rating.

Yelp
I was here today to pick up my love your melon dogs of MSP hat. I sampled 2 beers #10 Octoberbest and #7 Holla Honey Wheat Ale which I liked the best. The beertender was nice also. I ordered a flight of these: Sweeter the Juice Blonde Ale. This is a blonde ale with blackberries. Not a fan, why ruin a good blonde ale. #9 I wish it was a little bit lager. Good but nothing to brag about. #2 Dreams Shake Juicy Milk Shake. This smelled and had a grapefruit bitterness and did not care for it. Actually none of the beers blew me away enough to get a growler. There are 13 beers on tap and a flight of 4 (5oz) size is $12 and growler fills are $14 and $16. Parking was ok but the place shares parking with 4 other businesses and each business has their designated spots. This brewery was one and done for me as nothing impressed me. They do allow dogs yay!

Yelp
This review is about the beer and HeadFlyer's delivery during the mandatory state shutdown of bars/restaurants during the coronavirus. First, props to HeadFlyer for being one of the first few breweries in Minneapolis to get their delivery system off the ground and running quickly. I ordered last week on a day they were closed, recieved an automatic email confirmation, then got a text about 4 minutes after they opened the next day from the person delivering letting me know he was heading out and his ETA. Easy system. Also, they canned the beer I got just a few days earlier, so extra props to everyone there for keeping at it. As for the beer - the Jucy IPA, 7.2% ABV, is my favorite of those I ordered. It lives up to its name and is now one of my favorites of its type from local breweries. I also tried the Hawaiian Sophie and Radiant Baby. The Hawaiian Sophie is a pineapple pale ale, and it was definitely good, but it didn't have as much pineapple flavor as I had expected (I didn't really think it was noticeable). On the plus side, if you're worried about it being too pineapplely, you should be good. 5% ABV. The Radiant Baby is a raspberry kettle sour, 4.7% ABV. This was also good, but my third favorite of the bunch. I'm a huge sour fan, and this just didn't quite do it for me. Not funky enough. But that probably means more folks who aren't 100% into sours will like it. All of that said, I'd get each of these again, and I look forward to checking out the brewery and taproom itself whenever things are back to normal. I'll support remotely in the meantime, and I'd recommend anyone do so as well.

Yelp
One of many microbreweries in the Minneapolis area. This brewery is a wonderful space that is very dog friendly. I had two beers here; the Hawaiian Sophie (Pineapple Pale Ale) and the Regulate IPA (West Coast IPA). Both were excellent. Staff was very friendly and the taproom was sparkling clean. Bonus points for this brewery having a TV!
