I frequently go here and love getting the loaded fries with chicken. Their menu selection is large as it ranges from omelets, sandwiches, burritos, and milkshakes. You order at the register, and they bring your food out. Despite paying for your meal and tipping, you'll still have to beg for items like sauces to go with your meal. You should go during the day as they close at 11 pm and I mean they are out the door by 11:01 pm. So if you want to eat comfortably I recommend mornings or lunchtime.

I called regarding a concern about my order on 3/6/26 because I have allergies and needed to make sure my food was safe for me. Instead of helping or trying to accommodate the request, the employee (who said he was the owner) told me he was overwhelmed and couldn’t deal with making any adjustments to the order, so he would just cancel it. There was no attempt to help, no effort to accommodate the allergy concern, and no customer service at all. If a restaurant is that overwhelmed that they cannot handle a simple customer request, especially one related to allergies they should consider hiring more staff or ensuring employees are properly trained to handle basic multitasking and customer concerns. Very disappointing experience.

Are here at 5 pm on a Tuesday. Dining area was empty. Ordered from the counter and seated ourselves. Ordered chicken quesadilla and grilled ham and cheese on a Panini. Server brought us our order which was ready quickly. Quesadilla has good flavor but the chicken was dry. The ham and cheese was delicious. It came with sweet potato fries which were excellent. Only one other diner came in but several orders were picked up to go while we were there. Usual LA parking problems.

Okay, so I’ve been to this place about 30 to 40 times over the past few years and this is the first review I’ve done. My bad for this! I’ve eaten everything from omelettes to chicken sandwiches to chicken wraps to fried fish to fried chicken to fries to nachos, almost everything on the menu as you can see. The food for one is always made to order and nothing is premade in the hopes of someone buying a particular type of food. Probably the best thing I’ve had here is the chicken wrap though. The sauces and the different options on the type of shell you can is awesome. This place is very busy in the morning so I would suggest ordering ahead if you can. Great place to eat though. I definitely recommend going to this place.

A casual, order-at-counter restaurant. I was in a group of five and we all liked our food. I had a chicken taco with tortilla chips, one person had a chicken wrap with a bowl of fruit, another person had a steak quesadilla, 4th person had fish taco with beans and rice, and fifth person had an eggs, bacon, hash browns and French toast breakfast. We were there for Saturday lunch and we parked in the building where the restaurant is located for a $6 flat rate.

The Headlines Diner & Grill is a great place for breakfast. They do all day breakfast, Mexican breakfast, and other lunch dishes. I had huevos divorciados, with fresh orange and bottomless coffee. The Huevos divorciados was so delicious. I really enjoyed it. Orange juice was tiny bit pricy but the freshness made up for it. Staff at the diner were very friendly. If you want good delicious breakfast or lunch for a good price, this is the place. Definitely a hidden gem in Westwood. Show them some love.❤️

We came in for Father's Day with my group of kids and grandkids, and we were taken care of nicely. Staff is always nice and the food is yummy. Nice patio accommodated our large group. This has been a go-to for lunch for decades and will continue to return as long as I am able to. Keep up the great work!

What a great place!!!! We stopped for breakfast and what a selection. Not only for breakfast but all their food. Reasonably priced and friendly service. I ordered the ham and cheese omelette at it was PERFECT!!!! Can't wait to go back and try other items. We're regulars at UCLA sporting events so we now found a "go to" place in Westwood to eat at. Thank you very much Headlines Diner & Grill, I can't wait to come back!!!!

I really wanted a hot dog and I got a great one. After a few hours at the Hammer Museum, my friend and I were a bit hungry so we stopped in this place nearby. Wow. A perfectly split grilled dog on a lightly toasted bun, plenty of kraut and yellow mustard. Accompanied by a full plate of fries, cooked well (but not greasy) and a large soda. $4 change from a $20. I recommend this place for the food and the shady outdoor tables. The smiling countermen and the waiter service were pretty exemplary too. I'll be back.

A traditional quick order breakfast and lunch spot targeting the UCLA students and the surrounding housing. You order @ the counter and they bring it over to your table. They have a lot of solid choices, both American and Mexican breakfast options, but they don't have the more complex options like my favorite breakfast dish: Eggs Benedict. Pricing was pretty fair, but they don't have wait service. Metered street parking was easy to find, we parked right out front. Overall the flavors were pretty good. Not great but far from bad. I chose the Bruin Special which was a lot of food, and although cooked well it was not special in any way, so in the end it's great if you're in the area, but I would not go out of my way for it.

It was 1pm on a Sunday. My friends and I were hungry and we were in the Westwood area. After googling some options...I picked "Headliner Diner And Grill". We loved the open atmosphere of the diner, its indoor or outdoor options. Ordering food was easy with a giant digital screen, a board on the wall AND just looking through a menu. The breakfast, lunch & dinner food portions a great and the customer service is fantastic!

I order from here quite frequently and the food is usually pretty decent but the last two times the food was not that good and today my hash browns were burnt... must have a new person in the kitchen

EVERYTHING I've eaten there so far has been great from their Steak/Tuna Melt Sandwiches to their Breakfast combos.

I don't get the negative reviews. This place has been around forever! Their portions are generous and the food always hits the spot. I've ordered almost everything on the menu and it's always been consistently good. Great place to sit and study too.

This is the horrible breakfast I had from Headlines Dinner and Grill. I had many time their breakfast from Uber. All these time they serve better quality food. But today I'm so hungry and I had overcooked fried chicken and overcooked waffles from them. It's so stale and so much salty. And couldn't eat. I'm trying to talk to Menny who manger of this store. He left the store. I reported to Uber. My advice is to all customers pls, check the food you eat.

I have been coming here for years It's my go to place for weekend breakfast and a quick hamburger during the day when I'm in the village. The new location has outdoor seating, which is a nice change, great burgers and fries and amazing coffee, especially first thing in the morning, it's sort of a hidden jem in Westwood, if you know, you know. And let them know how we want your burger and especially your patty melt done and they'll do it to taste .

this is the best place to grab a sandwich (or whatever you want... this menu is vast) in all of westwood!!! the staff is amazing! you can sit inside or out on the comfy patio. do not sleep on headlines. it's a westwood treasure!

The food is great, but sometimes the thing you want isn't on the menu you're looking at. Want a hotdog? It's not on the website menu. Want a burrito bowl with fish, not on postmates. I really hope they sort this out, because like i said, the good is great.

One of the BEST breakfast orders I've ever had from ordering UberEats. This place clearly cares about customer experience. They included all the necessities to enjoy my meal like the fork and even included butter, ketchup and jelly without having to request it. The eggs were simply amazing! The amount of bacon given was fantastic. And the sourdough toast with butter topped it all off. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

I got a couple of burritos from Headlines for breakfast. The breakfast chicken burrito was my favorite. A lot of protein and healthy fat with avocado. It was delicious! I wasn't as big of a fan of the luxe breakfast burrito. It was full of meat (sausage, ham, bacon) but not enough of everything else. The flavors all blended together into an unimpressive blah. The strong meatiness of it completely overpowered the pico de gallo. It definitely needs more fresh vegetables thrown in. I ordered to go, so I can't speak on the service or ambiance of the restaurant. But I'm not in a hurry to pull up in person.

Was excited to try this place as I pass by often. They have basic breakfast food, prices are fair. Unfortunately, the breakfast sandwich was bland and I had to put a lot of sauce on it.

My favorite lunch spot. Everything I have tried has been fantastic. They are quick and fast and you get an option to sit outside. The service is straight to the point. It's clean and like i said, the food is amazing.

Everything I've tried is good! Veggie healthy omelette, veggie burger, onion rings, veggie panini and ooooh pictured below are my favorite fish tacos with EXTRA chipotle sauce Pricing is great and they have a great deal on Tuesday for tacos!!!! They give you large portions and again the food is good so it's well appreciated. Parking sucks but sometimes miracles happen and you can pay at the meter. I'm just happy I work and live near here so I can overindulge‍ Customer service is on point as well very nice and attentive

I honestly wasn't going to rate this place because I felt bad cause it feels like a ma and pa shop but like the more I thought about my experience the more I want to write. I placed my order via phone and I went to go pick it up. I paid and then I got my food and that was that. I went back to my place and noticed the food was wrong so I called and they said no I ordered wrong when I literally said I wanted asada fries? Idk where he thought I said the word plate. Anyways there was no sense of remorse and he was not apologetic at all and he literally just hung up the phone after he asked if I wanted to bring it back. I couldn't bring it back so I didn't but the fact that he hung up without saying bye or sorry is kind of pissing me off. On top of that I just ate my food and the beans and rice and guacamole and salsa were good. The actual asada was absolute trash and rubber and I wanted to almost call them back to ask for a refund but I thought it wasn't worth the battle. How is the main piece of the meal that trash? Totally unacceptable and I will quite literally never be back and I will actively choose to not come when friends or colleagues suggest it. Also there's a lot of homeless people around so their slogan of "coming there to eat to see celebrities" is an absolute joke!

Curious to try this place passing so many times when visiting Westwood, thought would try on a Thursday early morning. Its great they open at 6am, so I went there before I had a meeting around 9 and just kicked it there. Started with a $3 cup of coffee; they give you a mug and you can refill next to the counter. It was so-so, not great coffee but its a diner. It'll do. The decaf was hot but regular was lukewarm and got cold fast. The cafe/diner has about 10 small tables inside and a nice patio outside to sit and eat, because surprisingly even early there's quite a bit of people; many police/firemen teams, door dash and all that delivery stupid shit coming in and out; they are really busy so I thought food must be great. After finishing coffee, ordered a steak and egg burrito. Cost about 20+ with coffee. The portion was huge and very filling. Side salsa great. The steak could've been better and almost certain a reheat of leftover meats but still tasted ok. Had the dreadful piece or two that you spit out unchewable, only reason knocked down a star. Very fresh pico and avocado in it though. At one point was so loud from fire and police men talking inside and their scanners blaring I went outside and it was very peaceful. In all was good to try; they have a very extensive menu, and very popular with the locals. The big bonus is the patio and opening early, unlike most places around that are 7 or even 8am for breakfast.

Got buffalo wings, curly fries, and a quesadilla from Postmates. They were having 50% off for $35 min order (with all the fees for delivery on Postmates basically brought it down to the subtotal amount.) Pretty standard bar food in terms of quality - I liked it a lot.

Amazing breakfast at a reasonable price with quality ingredients. Not much more you can ask for at a breakfast diner. This place has I door and outdoor seating. It is inviting and the staff is exceptionally friendly. You may bring your dog for outdoor seating. The bruin special is under $14 and includes your choice of pancakes or waffle. Both are great options. With the waffle you do get your choice of 3 fruits or all 3 if you desire, all fresh. (Strawberries, blueberries, and banana). They make exceptional poached eggs that melt in your mouth. A heart serving of hashbrowns and 2 sausage with 2 bacon. An all around tasty breakfast with perfect portions for those who are hungry. The coffee is also an added pleasure. They have creamers available. French vanilla and regular. A meal for 2 with 1 coffee was less than $35! Fantastic. They had me at FRESH FRUIT which included berries! Overall, if you would like a laid back atmosphere to hang with family or friends this place is ideal. If you want a quiet meal, a place to read this location is also ideal. Enjoy.

Bog-standard Los Angeles diner food, which means a pretty decent American breakfast or breakfast burritos, or an array of casual lunch items in the same vein. Gotta say the Bruin Breakfast combo, $13ish as of this review, is a pretty good breakfast for Westwood. Two strips of decent bacon, two sausages, a crispy pile of hash browns, and (I upgraded) a kind of so-so french toast. Nothing fancy but absolutely does the job, and their current location right on Westwood Blvd has plenty of outdoor seating given how small the restaurant is. Much like some of their breakfast/brunch/lunch competitors also in Westwood, I can't exactly say they're anything special in the grand scheme of things, but they certainly do the job. 3.5 stars.

Second time here, clean restaurant,good food and service! The banana waffle rules too. And fresh coffee.

For those looking for a fancy LA brunch, keep on walking past Headliners. But if you're in the mood for old school style diner food, step on in. I opted for 3 eggs over easy, hash browns, toast, sausage and a cup of coffee. The hash browns stole the show but everything on the plate was solid. And to boot - Headliners was clean and well taken care of care of. I'll be back next time I'm in the area.

This diner is AMAZING! I finally found my go-to breakfast spot when in town. I was impressed by the large portion and the taste was amazing. I am picky about my hash browns as most restaurants use fake hash browns. Not Headlines! They were crispy and tasty! I highly recommend this place for breakfast and will definitely come back when in town.

Headlines Diner is the best spot to get a classic diner style breakfast in Westwood. While I think of it more for breakfast, they have pretty much every other food you could think of. Their menu is actually so enormous that it can be overwhelming. They have breakfast, they have Mexican cuisine, they have pasta (?), they have burgers... thus far I've simply stuck with the breakfast burritos, which I find to be good and enough food for 2 meals. I've also had Joe's breakfast with eggs, bacon, hashbrowns, and sourdough toast which hit the spot. I think their hashbrowns are the best part. Something to skip? The orange juice. While it is freshly squeezed, it was like $9, which I found to be ridiculous. Outside of that, most of the prices are reasonable but it's no Waffle House. I like the servers, they are kind and food comes out pretty fast. And they have one of the best outdoor dining spaces in Westwood. There is also a bathroom. Will be back when the breakfast cravings hit. I noticed they do chicken and waffles, which I'll have to try in the future. However, for the overall value and experience, I'd recommend hopping over to Teddy's Cafe instead if you're willing to make the drive.

Quiet and quick. Food is plentiful and very tasty. Great outdoor seating with seating inside as well. Staff is friendly friendly and attentive. We enjoyed our breakfast and will be back.

The food was so good and it was a great price for the amount of food I got. When I saw that the orange juice I ordered was 6.50, I was kind of irritated but the taste is definitely worth the price.

Headlines has great good and consistent quality I love the breakfast burrito just for the salsa it's prepared fresh everyday.

Headliners is a place where you can get some of the most fulfilling foods around Westwood. It is ultimately up to you how much to order and it will still cost you less than most places. The employees are friendly and always smilling. Happy employees equals happy customers. The first time I had food here I tried their burrito and thought this was good until I tried their triple taco plate today. It was a mix of all of their tacos with perfectly fried beans and greatly seasoned rice. Note the food can take a few minutes to be prepared.

Still the same spot just relocated from its iconic location on Gayley and lindbrook. The coffee is still that old-school hangover busting black that I need every now and then, the eggs are still runny, and the spoon is still greasy. The price points are still the same. Itll set you back around 15 bucks for a decent breakfast with a cup of coffee, but hey, sometimes it's what you need on a Sunday morning after a hard Saturday night. I like the other location better, as where they are now doesnt have a long or good history of keeping eateries open for any length of time, but I will still come in now and again to have my Westwood ok omelette, with "well-done" potatoes, and English muffin and a cup of black-water-jet-fuel.

Wow! What a great deal on breakfast. It not often you get too much bacon with your order. I'm pretty sure they beat Denny's for pricing as well. I can't say enough good about the food and service here. Another highlight is they have Cholula on the table as a standard. So glad I came acrosss this spot on my way to work - great job folks please keep It up

The food is tasty with ample portion size. They were kind enough to bring my order to my car when I couldn't find parking. Unless I'm not remembering correctly they used to have a smaller fountain soda cup option I did like that better than the larger one.

I ordered the veggie breakfast burrito and bruin breakfast special . It was a solid and mediocre spot . Nothing really amazed me or stood out. I thought the veggie breakfast burrito was lacking a lot of flavor . Needed some salt or something . Very bland and also watery from the veggies . Not somewhere I would be interested in coming back to try different options.

First of all the food is good and portions are nice and generous. But I noticed a few things with this place- inevitably they'll get something wrong with my order just about every time. And then if I point it out they'll suddenly not offer whatever the item was that was listed on their menu that I ordered. Then why is it listed on the menu? Every Sunday there's a large group sitting there for hours that's essentially yelling and screaming for hours. They'll also openly brag about how obnoxious and rude they are so there's that. Probably don't come here for Sunday brunch unless you want your ears assaulted. I'm probably going to stop coming here unless it's during the week.

I love coming to Headlines because their breakfast, lunch, and dinner is excellent! Eric and Benny are super welcoming and provide excellent customer service! Hands down the best place in Westwood to eat!

The food here is great! My partner and I only chose to eat here for dinner because we were short on time and it looked like a comfortable place to eat. I wasn't expecting much (as the place was almost empty) when I ordered fish tacos from here but they were really good, and I wish I had ordered more! My partner was happy with his breakfast plate as well. Food was served fairly quickly. I rarely come to Westwood these days, but I definitely would want to come eat here again!

Thank God for this place! My family and I were visiting from out of town and we walked to another restaurant and they were closed:/ A local suggested Headlines down the street and the entire family loved it! Cute diner, fast service, amazing omelettes

I asked a local where to get a good breakfast. He recommended this place. They have ouside seating. Employees wear a facemask. Customers must wear one too. I ordered the chilaquiles with red sauce. Delicious. Not too spicy, but packed with flavor. Whole pinto beans on the side and topped with queso fresco. My husband ordered the bacon burrito. He said ot was perfect. Had a generous order of hashbrowns. Crispy outside and tender inside. Yummm. We can't wait to try other menu items.

First time here. Got the steak omelette with hash browns. I found the flavor kinda flat and the hash browns soggy. The eggs were runny. I also ordered the hot wings but did not like them. The skin was weird looking. Free refills on drinks which was good. Just street parking and it's a busy area so good luck if you find an open meter. Lots of UCLA students there. It's small but looks bigger because of the mirrors against the walls. It's so-so but they serve breakfast all day which is cool since it's a diner feel.

Somehow this place keeps leveling up. Their smashburger is bomb. It's juicy and flavorful, served with a side of seasoned half moon fries. You could spend a lot more for an inferior product. Keep on growing, Headlines. Love you.

Great food and quick service. Very large selection of options. I ordered the siracha burrito and it did not disappoint. Highly recommend the fresh squeezed orange juice!

The food's solid and you get generous portions. And if you're like me - someone who works better in environments with good wi-fi with solid seats and tables - you'll find it worth your time to visit. Note that at a certain point in the day, all their burger and sandwich combos go down to $9.99. Overall, worth checking out and I'll gladly visit again.
