I can not speak highly enough about Catherine Clark and the Health SOS team. I had a wrist injury that brought me to Catherine. I saw her 2x a week for 5 months over the 9 months that I was dealing with the injury. In addition to providing excellent care, Catherine was the rock through the entire process. She would check up on my when I was supposed to to be taking time off from OT. She checked up on my after surgery.

Very nice clean place. Very knowledgeable physical therapist who are very caring. I highly recommend this place

This place is amazing. I came here with a specific issue, which they've been helping me with, but they're helping me in holistic ways I wasn't expecting--they've been helping me change lifelong poor breathing habits, for instance. Ya-Zing Kim is truly brilliant. And Tatiana, who works with her, is fantastic as well.

I’ve gone to another PT place close by my job for years where everyone else in my workspace attends but I decided to check this place out. Overall the staff was friendly and knowledgeable but the only con which makes me not want to return and support this business is their corporate policy which requires a fee for rescheduling a session the same day in circumstances where you’re sick and unwell. Front desk informed you’re still expected to come in. Bad business practice and this just seems inhumane. I’ll be returning to my original PT place.

I have nothing but great things to say about this facility. The staff is highly skilled, patient and caring. I've made tremendous progress since starting treatment. I highly recommend Health SOS to anyone seeking relief from chronic pain, and wanting to learn how to continue therapy with a home exercise program. If I could give more than 5 stars I would!

Beware of companies like Health SOS, who rip patience off with late fees after they complain to their insurance company about their sheduling problems. Once I complained, they mailed me a for a bill of fifty dollars on 5/24/19, after it took three months for bogus late cancellation fees. The week they are referring to was President's week. I wasn't even there that week , and I ask the receptionist not to book me for that week because I would be out of town. I not only will never recommend Health SOS to anyone, but I highly urge that all avoid them and their shady shenanigans.

The staff is very nice and professional. I can walk again thanks to my physical therapist Tasha. Absolutely recommending this place!

Using Manhattan locations. Great staff, great care, very knowledgeable. saw amazing improvement in a few weeks. Very kind and pleasant staff.

Friendly staff and clean facilities. I was very weary after ready reviews but I really enjoyed my PTA and felt like I was heard. They were very attentive and challenging.

Most unprofessional place I have ever been to. Therapists are okay but owner is disgusting. She comes in dirty, smells body odor and disheveled. I got a letter from my insurance saying the company was therapy for all, a different name they go by. And when I called my insurance they said it was two different companies. I have worked in medical offices before and what they are doing is illegal. Don't be fooled. They will charge you if your insurance doesn't pay to their fake company. Owner is also mentally unstable. I heard therapists talking about how she takes months off to go to treatment spas for mental illness. I have been to much better physical therapy offices.

My PT, Kacia, is awesome. Her commitment, her knowledge, her attitude--I could not ask for more. I watched her for months before I began PT for my back. I was having PT for my hand, and I could see her work. I've never had great PT before, even though I truly needed it. Even though SOS is not convenient to me and there are many nearby places, I'm never going to another place--ever. I also appreciate Jess who gently helps me with my exercises and never loses patience. The workers on my floor are of the highest quality!!!!

Still being harassed by a collection agency 5 years later for invalid billing charges. Unbelievable.

This clinic was on NYU Hospital's list of PT providers. I booked a session with Martha, the head PT at the SoHo location, to address a shattered humerus and elbow. The hour-long program session she directed included a 20 minute lower body workout on the pilates machine. When I asked why I was doing a lower body workout when my medical issue was my arm, I was told it was because it was to kill time until Martha could manually work on me for 10 minutes. During the manual therapy, I asked questions to learn about my injury and recovery process. Martha's proferred up some irrational conspiracy theories and was curt and condescending -- not only to me but to the several other young PTs working there. (As a manager I found this to be abhorrent.) I reluctantly came back for a second session. At the end of the session, I told Martha that I would need to be gone for a week to visit my father in hospice. She sternly told me that was bad for my health. Clearly, my health was not as important as seeing my father in his last days -- which I pointed out. She insisted that this was a very bad idea and that I shouldn't go. That was it for me: irritable provider, incompetent protocol, and emotionally tone-deaf response to an upcoming death in the family. When I returned to NYC I booked an appointment with BIll at Professional Physical Therapy which was two blocks away. My experience could not have been more different: a pleasant, articulate therapist; an aggressive, thoughtful therapy program; and a professional work environment. I highly recommend booking an appointment at this organization instead of with Martha at SOS.

I've been referring orthopedic patients to Health SOS for years and have always gotten positive feedback. Recently, I developed some issues that needed to be addressed and decided to make the trip into the city for treatment. I was lucky enough to get an amazing therapist, Maica, who devotes the entire session to me. She never leaves my side which is unheard of in this day and age. I look forward to our biweekly sessions and it has become the highlight of my week.

I first went to SOS in Manhattan on 57 th and Lex about seven years ago for a weird leg pain. After one therapy session I was feeling 98% better. Unfortunately that therapist no longer works there. I recently started therapy again after falling and breaking a leg, a foot and ankle. Once again my orthopedist recommended SOS. David is my therapist and he is awesome. Could not ask for better. My walking is as good as before I Recently I experienced some back problems , was diagnosed with scoliosis and asked David to work on my back as well First I had to be evaluated at SOS and saw Lindsay. While I walked in last Friday with just about no pain, I have been in agony since! I am writing this lying in bed with heating pad. I even retrieved my walker this morning as I was afraid of falling from the excruciating pain. I don't know what specifically she did but I was "evaluated" and then put through a series of exercises which obviously my back did not like! Why didn't she know better??? Moral of story: ask for David and stay away from Lindsay

I started in Health SOS to treat ongoing "back spasms" back in March after trying another physical therapy company. On my doctor's recommendation, he told me that Health SOS would "fix me" and that the other physical therapy group had "been treating the wrong thing." Sure enough, it's several months later and I am back to feeling 100%, with no pain during day or night. The staff was always courteous, nice, and accommodated me, even when my train was late several times. I did leave feeling quite sore a few times, but it's the good sort of pain really. My doctor discharged me from ongoing PT due to the rapid improvement I made, and the professionals at Health SOS diagnosed my actual problem as hamstring issues, which allowed for targeted treatment. Clean facilities, never felt crowded or rushed, and unlike the other place I went to, the therapists would actually watch what I was doing and make adjustments as needed. 5 stars, with special props to Mike who always had a good sense of humor but always encouraging!

This has to be one of the most horrible PT places I've ever been to! From the moment you walk in, you encounter disgruntled and rude front desk staff. Some of the PTs are actually very good but the rest are unprofessional and incompetent. It feels as though this is more of a place to train PTs rather than an actual PT facility for patients. Oh, and if you cancel an appointment within the grace period, they still charge you a late fee. You also have to make sure you get a name every time you reschedule an appointment, as the front desk staff will forget to change the appointment in the system and mark you as a no-show.

Deborah at the front desk is unable to preform her job, every time I have interacted with her it has been painfully slow.

As a former very brief employee at this facility I too was concerned about the billing practices and decided to walk away before I was caught in some insurance billing scam. This was a scary situation and a valuable lesson learned.

I had six months of PT for frozen shoulder at both the Brooklyn and 57 Street location. The therapists were professional & my condition was improving. On January 12, 2016 I went to the 57 Street location for a scheduled massage. You're fully clothed, and the door is open but it doesn't stop the massage therapist from doing a "Massage Envy" to me. I'm sure I'm not the first, nor the only person this has happened to. Victim shaming is completely inappropriate. And, you have the facts incorrect. I don't typical write reviews but had a horrible experience similar to Mark H's below. Had a few sessions of PT in 2015, they billed $800-$1,000 per visit (dono how they came up with these rates and why it changed despite the same service every time) they assured me I'd only be responsible for the copay. Now FOUR YEARS later, (2019), got a threatening email from a collection agency out of the blue saying I owe them money. Mind you, Health SOS never contacted me at all between 2015 to now. The agency they use is very shady, I've already filed a complaint with the CFPB. The billing at this place is criminally deceptive. DONT GO! ...unless you want your credit threatened many years later.

I went to Health SOS back in late August I believe. They are usually pretty busy during after work hours and are short-staffed. However, they are really nice and accommodating. I can't say so much for the front desk considering they don't understand how medical billing works. However, I went to see Francesco about a hip injury and was a client of his for almost 3 months. This dude is awesome, he is very smart and is extremely helpful. Plus he has the most experience there. His bedside manner is great and he's also pretty funny. All the patients really liked him too and that's why he was always so busy! I have recommended him to my coworkers. If I ever have to go back I would go back to see him!

Health SOS is the best! I met with a physical therapist at Health SOS for three months in 2011, while training for a marathon. When I needed to resume physical therapy a few months ago, it was an easy decision to choose Health SOS. The receptionists are personable and informative (answering my incessant insurance questions) while the physical therapists and their assistants are all warm, patient, and knowledgeable. They tailored my routine to my likes (stretches, strengthening exercises) and dislikes (electrical stimulation, ultrasound). I appreciate that all the employees appear to care about one another, and that they also genuinely care about clients. I can personally recommend Fernando, Lauren, and James. My impression is that they are all excellent.

I've been coming to the 57th St location for a month now. Professional and friendly staff. They are helping me walk again. I've tried 2 other places but am sticking with this place. The best - they push me with their exercises. Really good rehab post op. And I really like my therapist. The place is clean and they have tons of equipment! Update- The therapists get 6 stars! They are great! Front desk/admin staff get 3 at best because most of them are really nice and professional but sadly the beurocracy/politics/policies are TERRIBLE! Cancelation policy is unreasonable.

Wow, I'm pretty shocked at all of these bad reviews. Mostly complaining about the health insurance ordeal. However, I can assure you that I had one of the best experience, considering how much they say NYers are rude....I really thought everyone from front desk, to PT aides and doctors were super friendly. I always look forward to each of my sessions because my PT and other staff members actually remember me and cares about me and sometimes my personal life :P Lauren was my PT in the past when I used to work/live in NYC and after I moved back I started to have lower back issues again and never hesitated to fit in into the schedule all within the two weeks that I visited for work. I love Lauren and the staff so much that I only come to NYC for the sessions. It's sad that I don't get that level of service and healthcare insurance advantages in SF. It costs me more and the waitlist is longer here!! I could tell Lauren was very knowledgable in her field because her attention to detail and explanation (Also over heard that she's constantly studying on new materials to keep herself up to date). Of course I had no idea what she was referencing but I could tell that she was intelligent and very patient with me. Honestly, I wish I could bring her back with me to SF. But then I would be extremely selfish to the rest of her patients. Now, I'm here sitting in my new PT office back home in SF, wishing I had the same experience. Things aren't the same without Lauren and her staff! Also, I really liked that fact that they are a one stop shop. I was not only able to get my PT sessions, but also pilates (Kasia was amazing!) and medical massages done in one office. That's something we don't have here. Would love it if Health SOS would branch out to the west coast too ;)

Only have great things to say. The girls atthe front desk and beyond friendly. They always have a smile on their faces and remember my name!! When I had problems with my insurance they walked me through what to do and made sure my account didn't go to creditors. I have worked mainly with 1 PT, but I am there enough to get to know a lot of the therapists. All are fantastic. They all really care about their patients and other patients they see around! I will be sad to be out of pain because I will miss seeing these people twice a week!

Never have I ever wanted to hurt my back AGAIN.. This place is awesome.. After seeing back specialist for the pain in my lower back and tingling sensation down my leg he sent me to Health SOS.. I have "things" deteriorating in my lower back. I was skeptical at first but after almost 4months of PT NO back pain and no tingling sensation down my leg. VICTORIA is FREAKING AWESOME!!.. We had a nice long talk before we did anything. Told her I am a caregiver for my mom who has Parkinson's and not only did we do exercises to strengthen my core which will lead to a strong back but she suggested items to assist me at home (gait belt for mom and transfer board) and she showed me how to hold and move mom without hurting myself.. My exercises were challenging and she made sure I was doing them correctly and not cheating.. Thank you Health SOS and Victoria.. Oh and a shout out to Julian who worked with me as well. The young ladies at the front desk are polite and remember you by name so it makes the entire experience great...

This place is Amazing! Love the care and how professional they are. Clean and spacious. I always tell my kids " people go to the restaurant for the food, but they return for the way the are treated" I highly recommend

I have gone to Health SOS for a number of years for a variety of orthopedic problems. The therapists are all excellent, as are their assistants. The culture is terrific. It is apparent that everyone on the staff likes everyone else, and they are all devoted to the betterment of their patients. I could not recommend them more highly.

I had a great experience at Health SOS in Soho NYC three years ago when I had my first knee replacement. They had terrific therapists, the right machines, and nice assistants and receptionist. But when I had my second knee replacement a year ago, there were no experienced therapists at the Soho location, and only one at the east 57th street location. I returned to the Soho location briefly, because they had therapists again, but soon (after three sessions) learned that my therapist was an anti-vaccine activist. I immediately switched to a third location, 10th ave and 37th street where there were two good therapists and a good assistant (plus a nice receptionist). HOWEVER, any person who thinks vaccines are completely ineffective is a medical ignoramus who should not be working in any medical field. And Health SOS should not have hired this guy. It was medically irresponsible. As the grand daughter of a serious doctor who was on the forefront of the medical field in the early twentieth century, I am quite disgusted that Health SOS would employ a person with such ignorant medical views.

I strongly recommend Dr. Brittny Mims, a top physiotherapist with an amazing personality. I have been treated by her in the past year and a half and Dr. Mims has a significant role in making my life less painful. She is a professional, I completely trust her and I always feel much better after our sessions. Dr. Mims has been treating my injured tailbone, my knees, and jaws (both being problematic after past surgeries) and she is always up to date with new and helpful exercises.

I've been to Health SOS for multiple running injuries over the past 10 years. Their PT's are experienced, thoughtful, and thorough technicians and treat each injury as a unique experience, rather than boxing a patient into a common diagnosis. I also appreciate that the PT's give you exercises and therapy bands to use at home to help speed up your recovery. I'd recommend Health SOS to anyone interested in an active and participatory approach to recovery!

I wanted to take a moment to explain how incredibly helpful all of the people have been to me here. First, a bit about my journey. I am 40 years old and 5 years ago I had surgery for a herniated disc I developed when I was pregnant. Because I could not be treated while pregnant, I had a long recovery afterwards. 2 months ago I herniated another disc on the other side of my lower back. In addition I developed Bursitis of the hip. I was in so much pain I could not sleep. I am a teacher and missed a whole week of work! My orthopedist referred me to the surgeon because I lost strength in my left leg and foot. The surgeons said I would need surgery if I ever wanted strength back in my leg. 2 weeks after a double steroid shot in my back, I arrived at Health SOS. Lauren evaluated me and set me on a plan to bring back strength to my leg, reactivate my core and lower inflammation of my disc. After 2 months of therapy with Lauren and Alan, I am (mostly) pain free and I have gained tremendous strength back in my leg. I cheer every time I do the penguin walk! No surgery for me! In addition to the physical therapy, I have benefited tremendously from medical massage. Anti-inflammatories have never worked for me. Massage has quelled much of the pain that continues on and off through the work week. Lu and Julian have both worked wonders bringing flexibility back and loosening muscles that spasm still from the injury. Lastly, I have learned that if I don't correct the issues with my core and strengthen muscles I've lost from childbirth, I will continue to re-injure myself. I'm happy I've recently "graduated" to cycle Pilates into my routine in order to round out my recovery and build a better core to prevent future injury. I have had 3 Pilates sessions so far and already I feel my core strengthening and my coiled nerves loosening. This place is truly the best physical therapy place in NYC not just because they have the best people, but because they have every service imaginable to treat your body: traditional PT, massage, Pilates and acupuncture! On top of all of this, they have the best people working with my insurance to make sure all of this is covered. I've been to so many places in NYC for my back, legs and neck and this place truly feels like a community all working together to make sure I get healthy and stay healthy. Believe me, not all physical therapists are the same. Where you go matters and Health SOS has truly been my life saver.

The therapists are great. However the establishment is fraudulent. They charged me 12 times more than the amount they said it will cost. Double billed my insurance and never responded to numerous calls and emails to correct their billing. Most unpleasant experience.

Health SOS is a great facility for OT. I went before and after my hand surgery and they were so helpful. I worked primarily with Sira but also with Cat, both of whom have excellent skill sets. They both paid close attention to where I was experiencing challenges with my hand and worked their magic, especially with getting my hand back to normal after my surgery. Everyone is so friendly, even on super busy days during evening hours. I did have some issues with my insurance at first, but once Gail, Front Desk Manager, was put on the case, all worked out well. Highly recommend!

Health SOS is a fantastic occupational & physical therapy facility. Their amazing team of therapists, Sira Melikian in particular, is not only full of knowledge in their field, but they are also fun & friendly people which is always a bonus to help get through a healthcare visit! The skill and attention she gave to my broken and ruptured thumb helped get me back on track- I may even be able to thumb wrestle again! :)

Excellent staff! This is the 3rd place I've been for PT and the only place where the therapist actually touch me and helps relieve the pain. David and Melanie are incredible and I'm healing and almost back to normal after a two year struggle with a back/hip injury. Thank you Health SOS!!!

I was here for a few months last year and loved it! James & Ismelda are really nice & made my back/knee problems feel much better.

Health SOS is situated in the heart of midtown. The inside is nice new & shinny, and the equipment is up to date. The staff are pretty cool, overall they want to help and see you better. It turns out they weren't able do that for me. I needed plenty of deep tissue massage for my tendonitis but they didn't do enough. I told them this, but they swore I would get better. I didn't. They had me work on my triceps which made my injury worse. If you're looking for relief for anything related to your muscles, do your self a favor and yelp massage therapy. Save yourself the hassle.

I was a patient at Health SOS's 57th street location for just about a year. Mike, the therapist, was awesome. Very knowledgeable, very professional, and super friendly. I would recommend him to anyone. The office, though, is extremely unorganized, and they rip off their patients. One day I was about to go in for my treatment when the woman at the front desk, very rudely, told me I had not been authorized for treatment from my insurance company for treatments dating back 3 months, and I had a huge balance that I needed to pay immediately or I couldn't be treated. I was extremely confused because I had not received anything from my insurance company saying I had been denied coverage. So I paid the balance, which was over $500, thinking I'd just call my insurance company and appeal the denial of coverage. The next day I found out that one of the employees from the Health SOS office, who no longer works there, did not submit any paperwork to my insurance company for approval of treatment for over THREE MONTHS, which was why my balance was so high. Are you kidding me???? So basically I had just handed them $500 and they put it straight into their pockets. It's straight up thievery. I've called them so many times to complain and demand my money back, and I never receive a call back from them. Moral of the story, don't go here. They'll steal your money.
