Heaneys Restaurant

My girl and I had a tremendous birthday lunch comprising the Short Taster 7/8 course menu - we couldn't do the wine pairing as we were driving (cue violins). Each course was a delight - small plates as per a taster menu, each was packed full of flavour, impeccably cooked and an exciting experience. It's difficult to pick favourites so I won't - it was all fantastic. I thought the lamb dish needed more beetroot. The service was faultless, as is the decor. I'd prefer jazz on the playlist, but that's just a personal preference. Worth every penny.

We had a really excellent meal at Heaney's ahead of the rugby. We had the shorter tasting menu and each element was absolutely delicious. One of the best meals we've had in a while, and that's from two London foodies.

This was an amazing find and I highly recommend to others! The food, service and atmosphere were all worthy of 1 Michelin star. Very surprised they hadn’t already got one, but hopefully it’s their time soon. The tasting menu and wine pairing was carefully considered, and well matched. Delicious. A fine dining restaurant with great service. Did the tasting menu with wine pairing. pretty generous with the wine too. Food was delicious. bartender made a cocktail tailored to my taste.

This was such a great dining experience! Full taster menu, with wine flight. The food is imaginative, beautifully prepared and cooked. And the presentation is first-class, each course a miniature work of art! The staff are all friendly & knowledgeable. We had a really first-rate evening, highly recommended.

Always wanted to go to Heaneys, and the £35 5 course set lunch menu deal gave us the opportunity (deal was even available on a Saturday). Fair to say it did not disappoint. Absolutely sublime from start to finish and an incredible culinary masterclass. Potato terrine and ox cheek were particular highlights but all of it was 10/10. If you get the chance to go, don’t think twice - it takes the dining experience to another level

Heaneys is by far is our favourite restaurant in Cardiff. It never fails to impress and wow us! Every dish is a delightful surprise, a piece of art and an experience in its own right. Staff are lovely, welcoming and very friendly and whenever our party asks for some dietary adjustments, the chef is always happy to accommodate. The restaurant offers a variety of eating options, an affordable set menu, a taster menu and a an A La Carte menu, so plenty to choose from. Till our next visit, keep the culinary creations coming please : )

This was our introduction to Sunday Roast. Oh, my! Sunday roast is such a treat! It was a delight to the senses. The dishes were well composed and pleasing to the eye. The dishes were well seasoned and just the right amount of food. My only complaint is that we discovered this place while on vacation. It may be a long time until we are able to visit again! Please enjoy their food for us! We sat inside but I believe you may have the option to sit on the covered patio. The dishes came out at a good pace. I don't know how to rate the dishes as everything tasted so good. We started with the oysters and ended with dessert and a cheese plate. Everything in between was just delicious. Game-Changer! In a family of foodies, whenever a food experience is truly spectacular, my father always quotes his Kentuckian Uncle when replying to "How is it?" - "It tastes like more" would be the reply. A broad smile - leading to a chuckle, every dish this evening at Heaneys "tastes like more." Service has been attentive, agile, warm, and accommodating. Chef "Tommy" has a different piece of music playing my head with each inventive dish - and yet despite the clear sophistication of his training - nothing about the place is fussy. I'm on vacation visiting Cardiff for the first time - had no idea I had to come to Wales for one of the most felicitous culinary explorations of my life. Even if the description of some dishes desn't excite initially - let Chef take you on a journey (definitely pick the tasting menu £42.5) trust him, his team knows what they're doing. Cheers! (Ps.
