The Latest Restaurant Openings to Know in Phoenix, February 2025 | Eater Phoenix

"Two concepts now split a single space in the revamped Esplanade in Biltmore: Perks Cafe serves coffee, tea, and pastries to-go, while Hearsay offers a sit-down menu of salads, sandwiches, and larger plates like pan-seared salmon with parsnip purée and cavatelli bolognese. Both operate on a weekday-only schedule covering breakfast through dinner and come from Chicago restaurateur David Morton (of Morton’s Steakhouse fame) and his restaurant group, Episcope." - McConnell Quinn

Ok, I give 1 star for decor because while it’s nice that the interior designer did a beautiful job, it doesn’t impact the food. 2 stars for service as all service staff were very kind and welcoming. I can’t give any stars for food however and maybe I ordered the wrong things as I don’t see many reviews for the kale Caesar salad so let me be the first to say - it’s not good. I was thinking it would be as good as LGO’s kale salad but I was rudely mistaken. It lacked flavor and even the presentation was lackluster. I ordered it with chicken and unfortunately they forgot it. I also ordered a side of salt and pepper fries, they were nothing special and honestly a little burnt. I ended up getting the chicken when I was more than half way done with my meal and that was decently good, well seasoned and juicy. The waiter ended up removing the chicken from my bill, unprompted which I appreciated. I’ll look to review again if I come back and try something better, I did hear the woman next to me raving about the tomato soup and turkey club sandwich - so maybe try that and you’ll have a better experience than I did!

Google
What a BEAUTIFUL SPOT!! So, I just kind of waddled in here, close to closing, on a Tuesday and this place, its decor and ambiance TRULY stupid out. The crafted cocktails were not only delicious but gorgeous AND well priced. All day happy hour on FRIDAYS! A great spot to grab a pre-game drink before a movie at AMC. GO you will not be disappointed.

This space is gorgeous!! Great spot to grab drinks, food or apps. Their happy hour menu is solid. A place to work, hang out or even have a nice lunch or dinner. Everything we got was delicious and our server was super sweet! Also if you come and park in the garage, you can get your ticket validated !

I met a friend for dinner at Hearsay in Phoenix, it was our first time there, and we really enjoyed it. The restaurant is tucked between office buildings in the Biltmore area, so finding it was a bit of a challenge, but definitely worth it. It has a sleek, corporate vibe, likely catering to nearby office staff. The food was delicious, and I ordered a mocktail that was both fresh and flavorful. I’d recommend Hearsay to anyone looking to try a new spot in the area.

Google
Five stars all around!! My friend suggested Hearsay for happy hour and we were thrilled to try a new place and all the more thrilled it did not disappoint!! The vibe, service and food was great. The happy hour menu has a good selection of food and drinks at such reasonable prices. We ordered the hummus, meatballs and truffle fries. I highly recommend this spot and can’t wait to go back!!

Google
Fantastic spot! The interior design is fun, light, and interesting. The bartenders are friendly and easy to chat with while also having a keen sense on timing - like meeting with a business counterpart offering additional service at the perfect timing. Looks like a wonderful place to hunker down and get some work done while enjoying the atmosphere. Heard from my conversations with the staff that they will open a "listening room" where guests can listen to real records with individual headphones, giving a truly unique experience! I'm looking forward to experiencing this room soon. I'll also need to try the food next time as well. They are keeping it limited but dedicated. This place is a must, whether a meeting or for a casual solo trip. For only being open for two weeks, they have a lot going for them!

Google
First of all, the decor and ambiance are beautiful. Secondly, Liz and Sam at the bar are awesome. Thirdly, it is a limited menu and scratch kitchen so everything is perfect. They have a fantasticHappy hour and a beautiful selection of spirits. Come to find out, it is the son of Morton's Steakhouse concept. They are not big on dessert, but they are big on fresh and flavors. I look forward to going back for the burger. However, the tuna carpaccio over the spicy rice cakes. The gem salad, oh so citrusy and the accompaniments to the salmon, knocked it out of the park

Hearsay is a new restaurant in the Esplanade at Biltmore that gives off a very modern feel and casual vibe. This is a perfect spot for happy hours after work, a nice dinner, or brunch on the weekends! My favorite was the Cavatelli Bolognese, which had a delicious sauce with a hint of sweet in it and very fresh Cavatelli noodles. I also enjoyed the Tuna Tartare, the spicy mayo was delicious. The house aïoli that came with the truffle fries was a must have! Really good experience, I’d like to also try their new brunch menu.

Yelp
Shared a lovely meal with my colleagues. Fantastic service, HH menu, and ambiance. Started with white bean hummus, peppers, tuna tartare, meatballs, and elote corn dip - all amazing! I had the HH sliders for my entrée - three perfectly cooked mini burgers with grilled onions, pickles, and special sauce (no cheese for me!). Modern, cozy vibe and complimentary 3 hour parking at the nearby garage.

Yelp
Hearsay TASTES SO GOOD! Are you kidding me? Every dish is so fresh and delicious. Tuna tartar, autumn salad, truffle fries, charred broccoli Caesar: that's just what I've tried so far, but every dish DELIVERS!

Yelp
I visited during HH. I'm in the area often; however, I wasn't aware that this place existed. It's tucked inside the Esplanade. At first entrance, I thought the place was a communal workspace. There are single chair/table combos, lounge area, private tables and then you see the bar. It's lined with cream chairs and an abundance of alcohol. Hmmmm, I thought, this is my place. As I nestled into a seat, the bartender arrived and explained the HH specials and the full menu. As luck would have it, a rep from Chakra was there offering samples of their vodka. I listened to his spiel about the background, location, etc of the biz. After sampling two different drinks, I settled on the pineapple fire drop. It has a bite, but I needed it. The shrimp ceviche is definitely worth trying. It comes with seasoned chips and a hearty portion of ceviche. This is a great space for work meetings, after work meetups, or date night. It's such a clean, bright, airy restaurant. They are open M-F. Garage and valet parking nearby. Accessible entrance.

Yelp
We hosted a company roundtable event and it was amazing! The space is beautiful, delicious breakfast options and stellar service. Thank you to their GM Nate, Events Manager Danae and entire staff for a successful event.

Yelp
Food was fun cerviche and Salmon Cesar salad! Service was on point. Ambiance daytime date with one door venue

Yelp
Eye catching was the ambiance and design, so chic. Food is exquisite. Casual food upgraded to the next level taste. Staff is so friendly and attentive!

Yelp
Ambiance: beautiful restaurant in Biltmore Service: our server was great, very helpful and attentive Food: we ordered the shrimp ceviche and I wasn't a fan. Tasted like they used cooked shrimp instead of cooking the raw fish with lime juice Drinks: delicious drinks! I loved the red sangria and the lychee martini was surprisingly strong and not terribly sweet Misc: great HH! $10 cocktails, $9 marg and a lot of apps. I want to try the elote dip next time

Yelp
The vibes at Hearsay are one of a kind! Great aesthetics and wonderful service, amazing cocktails, appetizers and entrees too! A friend of mine shared many amazing and yummy drinks and apps and had the option to sit inside or outside at this "working" restaurant. We will absolutely go back! Also, great during the day and at night!

Yelp
I was really looking forward to trying Hearsay, but unfortunately, the experience fell short. The restaurant makes a fantastic first impression--5 stars for the ambiance. The décor is stylish with a fun, eclectic vibe (don't miss the wallpaper in the bathroom!). We visited on a Friday night and were surprised by how empty it was. With so few guests, we expected attentive service, but that wasn't the case. It took far too long to receive our cocktails and food. While the drinks were well made, the food was underwhelming--and waiting nearly two hours for appetizers (we arrived at 6PM and didn't get them until almost 8PM) was unacceptable. Overall, a disappointing visit despite the beautiful setting.

Yelp
Yummy! A friend and I stopped in before we went to see a movie at the AMC upstairs. The decor of this place was so cute- I loved the variety of seating and the open space. Our waiter was nice and friendly and provided attentive service our whole stay. The food we received was delicious. We both ordered the grain bowl- I got mine with no add ons and my friend added grilled chicken. We both really enjoyed it! It was more salad than grains, but all the components in it were delicious. The dressing was fantastic. I also ordered the black cherry bliss drink (BIG fan of it) and loved that they had several non-alcoholic options. We finished with the date bread pudding and it was so yummy!

Yelp
Popped down to hearsay for happy hour after attending a yoga class at the gym upstairs. The drinks are pretty, but nothing extremely creative or new. However, the truffle fries are wonderful and on happy hour pricing! The restaurant was pretty empty, but we still sat at the bar so we could quickly order with the bartender.

Yelp
A little hidden spot within the Esplanade complex, it seems to be a spot for after work meet ups as I felt super underdressed. They have a good amount of things on the happy hour menu and I would probably go back to check them out but this time we ordered the elote as an app which was good. I got the poke as my main dish but I didn't really like the sauce it was served in which had a strong flavor and took over the rest of the dish. I tried some of my friend's salad which was a pretty good portion, but definitely a lot of blue cheese which I'm not a fan of but everything on it was great.

Yelp
Underwhelming Food in a Gorgeous Setting... Hearsay has all the makings of a standout Phoenix spot -- stylish decor, great ambiance, and the buzz of a new opening with Chef Dereck Dillon at the helm. Unfortunately, that's where the excitement truly ends. I really wanted to like this place, but the food was a letdown. I ordered a burger medium rare and it came out well done -- dry and flavorless. To make things worse, the fries were cold. For a place putting a chef's name front and center, the execution just isn't there. The hummus plate was OK, but all 4 in my party all said they wouldn't want to eat here again. Feels more like a happy hour hangout than a serious dining destination. You can't build a reputation on cocktails and vibes alone -- the kitchen has to deliver. As it stands, Hearsay looks the part but doesn't follow through where it matters most. Airport food with Happy Hour Appetizer only vibes.

Yelp
We were excited to try this place for dinner but we had a movie to go to so we settled for appetizers and drinks. We ordered a charcuterie plate that was absolutely bush league-tiny rolled up turkey, very small cuts of salami, small cut cheese, really stale bread, some chopped up strawberries. It seemed to be made for people without teeth or kids. Worst board ever. Ordered a cup of coffee and it came out room temp! It was from an old pot and I declined a new one. Others' drinks were fine. They had a cookie for a dessert-horrible. The space is very attractive but feels like a slow hotel bar. I won't be back.

Yelp
Drinks were delicious and unique. Loved the ambiance! Not many gluten-free options, but still a couple items worth the try.

Yelp
Had a lovely group dinner at Hearsay. They recommended a limited menu selection and it was perfect. The ambiance is very lovely and quiet enough to enjoy conversation. The service was outstanding and staff very attentive. All of our food and alcohol selections were perfect. The location in the Esplanade is a little challenging to find. I would recommend valet parking rather than the garage. You have to try this restaurant...!

Yelp
Happy Hour is Monday-Fri 3 to 6 snacks $6-$16, cocktails $9-$12, beer $5-$6, wine $10. I ordered the Timeless pearing and it is delicious! Very pear forward with hint of cinnamon. My daughter ordered the apertivo aka Aperol Spritz, refreshingly bitter she said for food we got: truffle fries - OMG so flavorful, crispy exterior & fluffy interior, shrimp ceviche - fresh and tasty, add lime & mini Tobasco they give, it adds a kick! Sliders are a must - perfectly cooked and addictive. Then we had to order the Prime Dip of the

Yelp
Super cute interior and an amazing drink menu! They have great NA cocktails which is always great! Food really missed the mark. We tried the burger, bolognese, and kale Ceasar salad. All of it was very mediocre and lacked flavor. They were also out of several menu items we originally wanted

Yelp
Great food and ambiance, perfect for small and large business meetings! I work in the complex and frequent often!

Yelp
I had a couple of delicious cocktails with chakra vodka, the bartenders and team created some amazing drinks! The staff was incredibly friendly and enjoyable. Also, a beautiful set up and bar, Will absolutely be going back!

Yelp
Hearsay was soooo cool! The food and service were top notch! The happy hour menu had several tasty items and nice size portions, too. I love spicy cocktails and the jalapeño Stoli cocktail was probably one of my favorites ever. So excited to have a new, hip and yummy restaurant at The Esplanade!

Yelp
Really enjoyed this spot for happy hour with a friend. Good food, vibes and people/service. What more could you ask for? Perhaps good prices? The happy hour menu had that along with great options!! We ordered the hummus, meatballs and truffle fries.

Yelp
Visited Hearsay today for lunch. It is a beautiful restaurant with an inviting and open ambience. The hostess and server were friendly and fun. Food took a bit too long to come out as the place was not busy at all. My hubby got the burger and I got the chicken sandwich with the humus and veggies. The hummus was delicious and creamy. Some of the veggies were not fresh the burger was ok and the chicken sandwich was totally overcooked. The chicken was like a dried up piece of leather. I told the waiter and he gave me 10% off. if I wanted chicken that dry, I would've stayed home and done it myself. Maybe the other food on the menu is better? I think their salads are popular. I only had a little one and it was good and I did not have a choice for the dressing.

Yelp
Stopped by for early dinner and really enjoyed this new place at the Biltmore Esplanade area. The ambience is very nice snd the service is very attentive. We had multiple appetizers and everything really hit the spot. Big bonus points for not over salting the food, a common problem in Phoenix. Great drinks to go with good music and very nice decor, can't ask for better addition to the area.

David B.

Yelp
Happy Hour! Great staff, Burger sliders are ridiculously tasty and perfect if you don't want to get filled up. Highly recommend the Salt & Pepper Old Fashioned (bourbon). Damn good!

Yelp
This is a relatively new place located in the Esplanade. We went there specifically for happy hour because we thought their drink and food menu looked great. We were not disappointed! Our table had the Esplanade Margarita, the Timeless Pearing, and a delicious hard cider. The drinks were on point. We shared the Elote dip and chips, the white bean hummus, and the charcuterie board all of which were fantastic! The place has a very casual yet upscale vibe and the service was outstanding. They are only open Mon-Fri right now, though our server said they may expand their hours and menu down the road. Next time we will try it for dinner or maybe even breakfast!

Wendy C.

Yelp
Had the Turkey club sandwich which was really good and the Ambiance is amazing. If you're looking for a great place for a lunch meeting or meal and drink before a movie you should try this place.

sophie s.

Yelp
Went for happy hour and sat in the room with the record players. Drinks were awesome. Taylor was our server and she killed it! Def will be back

Yelp
The atmosphere is amazing and the wait staff are incredibly friendly. Everything I've had there from the drinks to the appetizers to the food has been delicious!
