I went to this bar expecting a fun night with good music and good people. I had two beers, so I wasn’t sober, but I definitely wasn’t drunk. I was dancing, being myself; I’m a queer man, and expression is part of who I am.
Then, out of nowhere, a blonde woman from management decided I was “too drunk” and had security remove me. I wasn’t loud, aggressive, or out of control. I was just dancing, enjoying myself, and apparently that was too much for her.
It felt humiliating and unfair. This wasn’t about alcohol, it was about judgment and bias. If being openly expressive makes you unwelcome here, that says everything about the kind of place this is.
