Off to a good start! We bought the chocolate croissant, lemon blackberry loaf, and ginger-orange scone. Scone was American style, buttery and very flavorful. Lamination on the pastries was great. They were a touch over-baked and thus dry. Large, buttery, puffy croissants.
The coffee is locally roasted and good quality. Was brewed right when I had it, I look forward to trying their espresso bar. The hot chocolate was bad, unfortunately, the oat milk had cooked & became jellylike. The ratio could be tweaked, it felt like a mocha with the espresso removed rather than its own flavorful menu item.
Atmosphere is cute and becoming comfortable with time. However, the feng shui is off: when you check out, there’s no clear path to move out of line & settle in, which was uncomfortable. The super-vintage furniture and decor is cute and I imagine will all pull together with the more modern appliances as Hearth & Hug settles in.
